My Top 10 Ganon Incarnations (Remake)
Tumblr media
Number 1. Tears of The Kingdom/Breath of The Wild - It's honestly surprising how this duology managed to crank out one of the greatest incarnations of Ganon in the series. In the first game, we see Ganon's power in the form of a demonic beast known as Calamity Ganon, and while this thing was basically an animal, it basically is the primary season why the world of BoTW is as baron as it is, and this monster does have both a large presence, and decent amount of activity though the Guardians, Blights, Divine Beasts, and blood moons, creating a fear factor for a good chunk of the game, which dissipates when you see that this things final form is just a flaming pig. However, in ToTK we meet the source of Calamity Ganon, the original Demon King Ganondorf from the era of Hyrule's founding and man does he deliver. He basically stays underground for a majority of the game after shattering the Master Sword and almost killing Link, but he never stops feeling like an active threat because of his Phantom Ganon's, Puppet Zelda, and the most dangerous thing in his arsenal, gloom. Not only that, but ToTK goes out of it's way to still present Ganondorf as a darwinistic asshole who worships power and actually thinks that his actions are justified, however unlike his other incarnations he has a terminal case of insanity from the get-go, which rears its head at every chance. These games made Ganon into a legitimate demon on all fronts, first introducing his pure demonic power without his dangerous mind and then introducing the true Demon King himself later on. And his final fate is ALL too fitting.
Tumblr media
Number 2. Ocarina of Time/Twilight Princess - This was the best Ganondorf incarnation of a LONG time. He’s a timeless classic with simple, yet effective characterization who does so much with such little screentime. He starts out as a king of thieves with a large ambition who is willing to kill anyone who gets in the way of his prize, and said prize was the triforce, and he actually gets it, well a piece of it. Then in the future, he goes from that to a true King of Evil, and judging by the impact his reign has had on the land, and the fact that he nearly genocided the Zora and Gorons, is honestly enough to inform the player that he's somehow crueler than before. Also HE PLAYS HIS OWN THEME ON AN ORGAN IN REAL TIME AS YOU TRAVEL HIS CASTLE! And how could we forget about that horrific beast form. Also let’s not forget about his return in Twilight Princess, picking up where he left off after getting snitched on by Link. He's active through Zant for a lot of the game, and when we hear about him, he's basically built up as a ruthless ass bastard with a god complex, and he himself is such a god damn great final boss. OOT/TP Ganondorf was and IS the blueprint for any future incarnations of the character, and he was the best for a long time, especially when he returned in Twilight Princess. But now he finally has an equal.
Tumblr media
Number 3. Hyrule Warriors - To sum up this incarnation of Ganondorf, he's a magnificent bastard, and arguably the best representation of Ganon outside of the main series. He thrives on the battlefield, has learned from previous defeats, has his arrogance and ambitions on check, operates in the shadows if he has too, and most importantly HE GOT THE FULL TRIFORCE. He also has a dank design. Were it not for the fact that he's in a warriors game, this Ganondorf would've been worshiped by everyone.
Tumblr media
Number 4. Super Smash Bros - He was a last minute inclusion in Melee, a bad character to play as in Brawl, a joke in smash 4 gameplay-wise. So why is he Number 3? He was a good "Orcus on His Throne" villain in Subspace, he got a HUGE upgrade in Ultimate, and the aura around him and the energy he has in ALL the games is 100% Ganondorf, from his taunts to the heaviness of his attacks. One of his taunts is literally him taking out a sword and putting it away, implying that he could use it, but only needs his overwhelming power to beat his enemies, and it's the type of arrogance I expect from Ganon when he's at the height of his power. He ain't the best character in the games and is in need of buffs, but I do believe he's a good representation of Ganon outside the main series. Also when do you ever see Ganon interacting with Bowser, Sephiroth, Ridley, AND King Dedede in offical media?
Tumblr media
Number 5. Wind Waker - After reassessing this take on Ganon, I realized that his biggest problem isn’t a lack of presence, because he does have that in spades still. His problem is a lack of general activity, aside from princess kidnapping which does end up hurting him a lot. But at the end of the day, Wind Waker’s Ganondorf carried by a great final battle, a good design, and genuine depth as a character. The best way to sum him up is "The Lord of A Dead Empire," and everytime he's appears, that becomes clearer and clearer. Despite this characterization of the big bad king being sadder than usual, this guy is still downright evil to the bone, so don't be caught off guard. Sure, he's lower on the list, but he's still pretty amazing, and he's also 50% of the fandom's favorite incarnation of him, which is honestly an achievement.
Tumblr media
Number 6. A Link To The Past - I don’t feel like we give this man enough credit. He mainly pranced around as Agahnim in A Link To The Past, so he doesn’t have enough time to truly be himself, but even then he was still a great villain and a great final boss for his time. He’s aged like fine wine as a villain lore-wise and in some story elements, especially since Agahnim would not only be the inspiration for Zant, but the Phantom Ganons, literal extensions of Ganon himself. Sure he’s still a big blue boar, but he’s actually conniving, he’s got his mind intact, an entire realm that he has full control over, he actually took over Hyrule Castle via posing as a hero during his time as Agahnim, AND HE HAS THE FULL TRIFORCE. Sure he ain’t beating OoT Ganondorf, but he's the best Classic Ganon due to lore, feats, and the fact he walked so the other Ganons could run. Also this is the game that revealed snippets of Ganon’s origin, which we got to see in full in OoT.
Tumblr media
Number 7. Yuganon - Ganon was feral and mindless before this, but after basically fusing with the narcissistic artist Yuga, Yuganon here basically became more destructive and ambitious than both Yuga and Ganon. Yuga was already a good villain and creative villain, but combining him with a mindless and feral Ganon just established that “yep… he’s Lorule’s Ganondorf.”
Tumblr media
Number 8. Four Swords Adventure - I’m honestly split on this guy. While he’s honestly not astounding, Ganon was decent here. He’s a reincarnation of Ganon that was active as Ganondorf, but only appears at the end as Ganon. However I do feel like he could’ve made just ONE appearance as Ganondorf the man at some point rather than just final boss pig beast Ganon. Aside from that, he’s just decent altogether. Nothing infuriating, but nothing good either.
Tumblr media
Number 9. Oracle Games - He's basically a prototype Calamity Ganon, but he never got a full time in the limelight because Twinrova revived him at the end. However, he is here because, well... this is ironically a fitting fate for Classic Ganon at this point in the timeline. Being reduced to a mere mindless beast that only cares about destruction and nothing else.
Tumblr media
Number 10. Zelda 1 - Nothing special, but he’s the first Ganon, so he’s kinda an honorary member here.

Project Link Up Transformation Sequences (Part 1):
Because my Poll from yesterday did really well, Have Some Transformation Sequences for Project Link Up! (They’re mostly of the main protagonists.)
Shonen Jump Power Linkage (Aaron Shelby):
Inspired By: Cure Sky’s Transformation (Hirogaru Sky PreCure)
Aaron: Power Linkage… Activation!
(Aaron scans his Linkage Card into his Watch, and the transformation begins)
Goku: Aaron, let’s do this!
Aaron: You said it!
Aaron: Heroic Hop! (His dark teal undershirt pops on, and so do his shoes and belt)
Goku: Extreme Step! (The orange part of Aaron’s Gi appears)
Both: Sparking Jump! (Aaron’s wristbands pop on, and his hair gets golden tips)
Goku: The linker of the Super Saiyan…
Aaron: …I’m Aaron Shelby!
Super Smash Bros. Power Linkage (Celestia Haruno):
Celestia: Power Linkage… Activation!
(Celestia scans her Linkage Card into her Watch, and the transformation begins)
Kirby: Poyo, Poyo Poi! (Let’s do this, Celestia!)
Celestia: That’s what I’m talking about, Kirby!
(Celestia begins creating her outfit to replace her old one. Her t shirt changes into a pink t shirt with a yellow star; with her overalls becoming fluffy pink casual shorts. She then gets red high top sneakers with stars on them. She also gains socks- one long pink one with stars and one short white. Her hair comes last; with it being dip dyed pink and bunched into pigtails- with the hair ties becoming shooting stars.)
Kirby: Poyo Poyo Poyo Poi… (The Linker of the Hero of Dreamland…)
Celestia: …I’m Celestia Haruno!
Genshin Impact Elemental Linkage (Terry and Tara Wilkins):
Terry and Tara: Elemental Linkage, Go! (They insert the Linkage Charms into their Elemental Amulets)
Aether and Lumine: Let the elements of Tevyat flow through you two!
(Terry and Tara do as their partners say and allow their clothes to melt away and their hair to change their style. The siblings’ brown hair gets blonde tips and their outfits begin to take shape- Terry gets Aether’s shirt and pants, while Tara gets Lumine’s dress and Lily hair accessories. Finally, after their shoes come into being, they allow themselves to take up their swords and finish the transformation.)
Aether: The linker of the male traveler…
Terry: I’m Terry Wilkins!
Lumine: The linker of the female Traveller…
Tara: I’m Tara Wilkins!
Both: The Elemental Linkage… is here to save the day!
Cookie Run Sugar Linkage (Cedric Grimsley):
Inspired by: Cure Whip’s Transformation (KiraKira PreCure Ala Mode)
Cedric: Sugar Linkage… Decoration! Gingerbread!
(He places his Linkage Treat in his Tasty Compact)
Cedric; With Bravery…
Gingerbrave: …and Sweetness…
Both: …It’s time to mix it up!
(Cedric lets his normal clothing disintegrate as he does a backflip onto the cookie, allowing his auburn hair to get white streaks. He also allows his new sneakers to become Gingerbrave themed, and draws out his outfit- a gingerbread colored t shirt with skull candy buttons and shorts. He then puts his Tasty Compact into its carrying case, then takes his Candy Cane in hand.)
Gingerbrave: The linker of Crispy Bravery…
Cedric: …I’m Cedric Grimsley!
Overwatch Power Linkage (Hannah Smith):
Hannah: Power Linkage, Activation! (Scans the Linkage Card into the Overwatch Connector and the Transformation Begins)
Tracer: Let’s get started, Hannah!
Hannah: You bet, Tracer!
(Hannah does something akin to a street dance, allowing her current outfit to disintegrate. Tracer helps launch her into the air, and Hannah gets an outfit similar to that of her partner’s. As flashes of blue light fill the air, her hair also styles itself up and she gets a visor like Tracer’s. Finally, as she gains her partner’s signature pistols, she lands on the ground feet first, but not before she puts the Connector into its carrying case.)
Tracer: The Linker of a heroic time jumper…
Hannah: …I’m Hannah Smith!
Brawl Stars Battle Linkage (Devon Starling):
Devon: Battle Linkage, Engage! (Inserts the Brawl Gem into the Battle Compact)
Colt: Ready for action, Devon?
Devon: Heck yeah, Colt!
(Devon allows his normal clothes to fade away into light. As he uses the Battle Compact, he allows his new clothing to form- a pale blue shirt and jeans + belt, purple cowboy boots, a denim vest, and then his hair gains a pinkish-red dip dye exactly like his partner. He then turns two orbs of light into his revolvers, and places the Battle Compact into its carrying case)
Colt: The Linker of an unlikely Brawler…
Devon: …I’m Devon Starling!
Sanrio Dream Linkage (Hanami Tanaka):
Hanami: Dream Linkage, Awaken! (Inserts the Dream Crystal into the Dream SmartPhone)
Hello Kitty: Let’s do this, Hanami!
Hanami: You said it, Kitty!
(Hanami allows her clothing to fade away and for her hair to come undone. Once she does that, she allows her long black hair to bunch itself up in girly pigtails and to gain a gorgeous red Hairbow, which also turns the lower half of her hair white. Then, she creates a striped t shirt and cute overalls-with apple and bumblebee patches. She then creates her sneakers- white with red bows. After this, she places the Dream Smartphone in its carrying case.)
Hello Kitty: The linker of sweetness and bows…
Hanami: …I’m Hanami Tanaka!
Transformers LinkSpark (Mateo Driver):
Mateo: LinkSpark, Roll Out! (Inserts the Energon Gear into the Auto-Gauntlet)
Optimus: Mateo, it’s time.
Mateo: Here we go, Optimus!
(Mateo allows his normal clothes to turn into light. With his Auto-Gauntlet he begins to create his armor that looks exactly like Optimus Prime. As he lets his armor come into being, he also makes sure to get his shoes- Warrior ready boots. He also adorns himself with a visor and face mask so as to protect him from any dust in battle. The finishing touch is the headpiece, and with that marks the end of his changes.)
Optimus: The linker of the Autobot leader…
Mateo: …I’m Mateo Driver!
More will be coming in Part 2, so look out for that!

What are the odds of Freddy Fazbear actually joining Super Smash Bros.?
Now, many people will say he shouldn't join, me being one of them, whether that's because he's seen as a meme character, lack of moveset potential, or just blind hatred is not the discussion. No, we are asking if it's actually possible for Five Night's at Freddy's to join not only Super Smash Bros. but the other "Challengers of Smash" (posts every Monday) as well.
Tumblr media
Can Freddy join Smash?
Starting with Nickelodeon All Star Brawl, No, just no.
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl has a variety of reasons that they won't add Freddy. The first is that it's a Nickelodeon game, and given that all of the characters are Nickelodeon characters and Garfield, it's highly likely that Nickelodeon won't add them to keep with their brand aimed toward kids, despite most of FNAF's fan base, behind the scenes controversy and the fact that canonically most of NASB's roster will either No Diff Freddy, see this as another Saturday or will be completely ignored by him/her. Maybe if this was Viacom All Star Brawl or if it took up the name of its predecessor: Super Brawl. Then, the odds would rise to being slim.
Rating: Ha, no/10
Next up is Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale. Unlike Nickelodeon, the question isn't because he'd feel out of place due to the entire cast having differing themes and art styles. It's not because Freddy isn't a Playstation icon again due to the roster of the previous game. In this case, Freddy seems just as likely to join as Crash Bandicoot or Gubble. No, the main reason is because PSASBR is dead. The game came out in 2012, a decade, and 2 console generations ago.
Rating: Dead Game/10
Multiversus is up next and...I'd say 50/50. Yeah, unlike NASB and PSASBR, Multiversus is more based upon popularity, moveset potential, and whether WB has its head stuck up it's a__.
Rating: 5/10
The penultimate game is Fraymakers, being an indie based Smash Bros. Crossover makes Freddy a likely contender. The question is, either McCleoud or Scott Cawthon ready and/or willing to let him join?
Rating: More likely than you think/10
Finally, we reach Super Smash Bros. and I'd have to say Spirit or Mii Costume at best. Five Night's at Freddy's is a horror game, a pretty ok horror game, but one none the less. Compared to some of the other "horror" franchises in Smash Bros., we have Luigi's Mansion, which is more of a Scooby-Doo scary rather than actual horror, Castlevania despite being some level of violent is more so Fantasy Horror and Resident Evil, which is a "modern fantasy" version of horror, if that makes sense. And while yes, Eternal Darkness and Fatal Frame exist, they are in because Nintendo was involved in their games. Five Nights at Freddy's, on the other hand, has literal on-screen atari style, child murder as a legit feature, and while there is a chance that some of the other franchises previously listed have some degree of child murder as well, you forget those franchises are multi-generational AAA games. Indie games do have a presence in Smash but to a much lesser degree than the big companies, and Freddy has some tough competition in that department, Shovel Knight, Shantae, Zagreus, Sans, and CommanderVideo already appearing in Smash, and outside you have characters such as Hat Kid and The Knight from Hollow Knight as viable options. So, while Freddy has a chance due to multiple factors, including whether Smash will continue to expand the roster or if it will reboot. Sorry, this is just a party you probably won't be rented out for.
Rating: Sorry, Freddy/10
But what do you think, does Freddy have a chance to join Smash or its challengers? Let me know in the comments. I do have actual roster design ideas, but they felt kinda samey, so I decided to mix in some Roster Chance Ideas into the mix, so i'll take turns with both concepts.

17, 20, and 22 for arjibi and dogmark 👉👈
17: Who would your OC main in Super Smash Bros?
Arjbi: Arji wouldn't have a main, he'd just pick whoever looked like fun to bop around the screen while everyone else is duking it out. He is usually the first to get KO'd, but that's fine because he prefers to watch (and he's the only person who ever wants to play on stage randomizer with items on)
Dogmark: idk anything about the current roster, but probably Fire Emblem Sword Boy Du Jour? In melee/brawl he would be a Marth main though. Never played at any sort of competitive level, but he was still pretty good at it. Currently has a hard time holding game controllers on account of his claws and paw beans, especially the teeny tiny buttons on the switch
20: What role would your OC play in a heist story?
Arjibi: He's the infiltrator! He's got Alter Self, Subtle Spell, 20 Charisma, and proficiency in acrobatics. You won't even know he's there. He's in your vents. He's talked past all the guards. He hates stealing, but he loves to be included in group activities.
Dogmark: Getaway driver. He's too nervous to actually be part of the operation, but he's got a lead foot and he's a pretty solid driver. Plus, if they still end up getting caught, he can definitely outrun the cops on foot in dog form.
22: What type of Avatar The Last Airbender-type bender (or non-bender) would your OC be? Any bending specialties?
Arjibi: Firebender, but incorporates more than a few airbending techniques. He has a really flashy, showy style that's built more for performance than for any sort of combat. Think like... circus acrobats, but with fire.
Dogmark: Supposed non-bender for most of his life, but in reality just never had the opportunity to discover and hone his bending abilities. By the time he learned he was actually a bender the whole time, he'd aged out of most of the available training programs. Unsure what element though! Water maybe?

the super smash bros brawl theme was so good... so iconic... easily one of the best main themes to a video game ever. if you think I’m exaggerating listen to it again. I also never knew it had actual lyrics in Latin for a long time but i adore them

How do you feel about Kirby’s role in Super Smash Bros and his representation in the fighting game genre?
He’s my main, so obviously positive!
It’s also very obvious that Series Director and original creator of Kirby Masahiro Sakurai has a bias for his pink puffball son lol. Not that I‘m complaining :)
Aside from that!
The thing about Smash Bros and Kirby is that Smash Bros plays exactly like a Kirby game. Or rather, Kirby games often play like fighting games in the way they control. You’ve got an attack button, and depending on the direction pressed, your movement type, if you’re jumping, how often the button gets pressed, combos, etc etc, you’ll do a different attack. Heck, the block animation being a glowing glass circle around the guarding character is straight up taken from Kirby!
Only Kirby’s dependent on his abilities, and most don’t have many combos. The ones that’re brawling-themed, like Hammer, Fighter, and...Smash which gives him his exact Smash Bros moves…Get pretty close though. And he’s got an actual fighting game of his own, Kirby Fighters! From what I‘ve heard it genuinely plays a lot like smash Bros simply because the movement is so similar.
And going back to Subspace emissary, the levels work exactly like Kirby levels. Smaller sections with enemies and platforming passages that are sectioned off by doors, some being optional so you can return through them while the processing ones vanish once you’re through, etc.
In any case, Kirby is a very good beginner character. His movement doesn’t have many gimmicks or hidden mechanics compared to a lot of other characters, and the direction each moves goes is the exact same as the direction you press for doing it. The moves that are gimmicky are very easy to pick up on. Stone goes down and stays so, cutter goes up then falls fast, the hammer can charge but do it too long and it burns you. All things you can do organically while playing for the first time and only need to do once to get them!
Also, hats. The hats are great. Play as Kirby and Smash Bros becomes a Dressup game.

What if Super Smash Bros. Melee had 6 more months of development?
youtube
What Might Have Been
For this video, I’ve combined some research from official sources like the Smabura-Ken websites, with the knowledge we have about what Sakurai would include in future Smash titles, and my own personal speculation to conjure up a more fleshed out version of Melee that keeps the core of the game the same, but adds in previously cut or partially completed content as well as net-new content, illustrating this through the works of many talented Smash Bros. modders.
