I’m playing Fire Emblem Sacred Echoes, the fan-made GBA demake of Shadows of Valentia! I haven’t played Shadows of Valentia because I don’t like newer FE games, and I haven’t played Gaiden because I’d never gotten to it. And you know what? Now that I’m playing Sacred Echoes, I think I may have accidentally done the right thing to not play either beforehand, just so that I could experience this story and this cast for the first time like this.

This also means that, for the most part, I am meeting these characters for the first time as the fan-sprites within Sacred Echoes, and then looking up their canon artwork later. Usually, I’m preferring the fan-sprites. So this is my take on Mae, following the look of the Sacred Echoes sprites and then remerging back with some elements of the previous two designs.
