Pez Tortilla

Pez Tortilla, translated into English is “Fish Tortilla”, does offer anchovy tortilla and a lot of different types of Spanish tortilla! There are 2 locations in Madrid.  One is in Malsaña and one is in La Latina. Both are consistently busy, but there is more standing, breathing, and eating room in the La Latina one!

They have actually have real beer here.  Well, I guess you can choose to get the watery stuff if you’re that type of human.  By the way, I checked them out... and they were so not naked from the waist down.  What a disappointment! 

Their tortilla menu changes and the different locations offer different things depending on the time. Here’s their menu! 

I definitely had to try the bravas ajoaceite.  The sauce on top was not a typical tomatoey sauce, but had more like a gravy like taste.  I enjoyed the big dollop of ajoceite and sprinkle of paprika on top.  I’m guessing it’s an aioli made of garlic and oil.  Nice play on words there Pez!

The brie, trufa, y jamón tortilla is absolutely delicious and my favorite so far.  They put large pieces of brie in there that melts into the potatoes.  I like how Pez Tortilla cooks their tortilla.  It’s still wet inside but not crazy wet and the outside is cooked well but not dry.  The A La Carbonara and Parmesano con Tomate Seco y Rúcula are really good as well!  Pez Tortilla does an equally good job with their croquetas.  They are packed with flavor and the bechamel is nice and creamy.  I tried the Curry de Pollo croquetas and I’m not ashamed to say it, we ordered seconds!
