Manchester by the Sea - Review
Few days ago I was struggling to find sleep so i followed a usual drill that is Let’s watch a movie reviewed as “Boring” and what better way to do that by watching “Manchester by the Sea”.First twenty minutes are hard for me to hold and I kept on asking myself ,“why I am watching it “ and as soon as Casey(Lee Chandler) arrives to visit his dead brother the movie starting to take off. The introduction of Lee’s Brother’s will to him and the struggles to live with his nephew makes me interested in it.The big question i kept on asking myself is why their is so much hatred for him, his depression, lack of conversation etc..The Story took a flight once the introduction of background story came into existence, his struggles with his wife and the horrific accident made me glued away to film with empathy. The burning scene and attempt to suicide scene are heart-wrenching.
I started loving the resistance of Lee Chandler. I started respecting him as person for bearing so much and still living this hollow life of him.The highlight of film is the introduction of his wife back into the film , the confrontation scene is so hard to watch. I was left mesmerized by the beauty of this scene with the Beautiful acting from both actors( Michelle Williams and Casey Affleck). The part of him explaining to his nephew about the future plans is again great .
I was watching this movie to get sleep midway of it but the truth is that I am having a hard time finding sleep that night.Casey Affleck did a remarkable role as Lee Chandler and definitely made into my mind palace’s hall of fame of great performances of all time. He surely deserves an Oscar for this role.
One thing the film taught me is to speak about Depression and share your feelings to your close knits.

You sent me a writing question and now I want to pop into your inbox and send you one! :) I hope you're well! So, my question -- do you enjoy listening to music while you write? If so, what style of music gives you the most inspiration?
Yay! Thanks for the awesome Q @dczwrites ^^ I’m doing great!
Ah, music.
I have a love-hate relationship with music in general, because I really think it affects my mood quite a bit. Media as a whole tends to have that effect (for example, watching Machester by the Sea left me sad for about two to three days, which wasn’t very fun). I’ve noticed that when I listen to a lot of music my mood tends to drop quickly, and maybe that has something to do with the kind of music I enjoy listening to. Or maybe there’s no relation whatsoever and it’s all a coincidence.
But I have to admit that when it comes to getting into a certain mood for my writing, music certainly helps. Depending on what I’m writing, I’ll create / use a playlist that gives me the kind of vibe I’m trying to create. Sometimes, I end up not using music at all - and this is especially true when I’m really deep in the zone and not really patient enough to get my music up and running.
I have a few playlists made specifically for certain vibes, named things like Intoxication, Speechless, Emerging, etc. It helps me find the mood I’m trying to go for right away and voila, a pre-made playlist for my writing needs! ^^
Although, these days I tend to skip the music and go straight for the movies and series. I just like having them on in the background, especially when the movie is quiet or has a lot of talking. I tend to gravitate towards black and white films for this, but sometimes I’ll go for modern movies that capture that silence really well.
So I guess the short answer to your question is: Yep, I listen to music sometimes! As for the style, it really just depends on the mood I’m trying to create. As long as it gives me that vibe, I’m okay with whatever style it is. ^^
