I will never get over how good of a villain Jan is from Only Murders in the Building.

Jan is what I call an attention-complex. A good mix between a narcissist and a pick-me. Jan has to be someone’s number one priority, she can’t stand herself to be second to someone else or something else. It’s why she stabbed herself, not because they were beginning to suspect her but because Charles was starting to put her second the solving Tim’s murder and the podcast. When she stabbed herself, Charles poured days of his time into taking care of her.

It’s also why she lied about being second-chair. She got beaten by someone younger and she loved the boson. For her to know that she wasn’t even close to being first chair must’ve killed her. She wasn’t the center of attention and she couldn’t stand telling people that she wasn’t the best.

It also explains why she picked Tim and Charles. Both men were lonely and their life seemed to brighten up when Jan was in it and she relished in that fact. She fed on their loneliness and made pour all do their attention on her. It’s very interesting to watch and I have to applaud to the creators for crafting such an antagonist.

So I've been thinking over @moonxliqht theory and I wonder, what if no one killed Ben at all?

He "died " and came back to life as per his plan to make his documentary more exciting ( like Moon said)

I mean think about it , he came in right after he was saved an casually let out his thoughts on who had beef with him at a party as an excuse to seek forgiveness and change his ways?

Could be his way of trying to gain some momentum into the whole " who tried to kill the star " plan in order to get more media coverage and buzz around the the whole production.

And later on he probably got into a fight with someone , maybe his brother/manager or Clifford and his mom about the whole thing. Or maybe even Kim because she didn't like how he talked to her in front of everybody.

And during the fight the accidently fell.

It wasn't an intentional murder, it just happened.

Could be a new twist to have someone just die accidently rather than someone actually killing him.

Btw I don't think Mabel will lose the apartment. Its possible the new tenants back out with all the murders that happen in the building and she ends of staying for a little while longer.

I love Oliver and Charles being Mabel’s adoptive dads, but it’s made even better by the fact that Mabel is basically chaos personified.

Mabel: *gets framed for murder*

Ok so Mabel is canonly queer right? (they never specify what exactly but but bi vibes)

And honestly so does Oliver. Right? Some of these are stereotypes but they’re all accurate. He’s a

• flamboyant

• rich

• theater director

• who went to lots of massive glitter orgies in the 70s

• who, for someone his age, seems very well versed in the language/culture of queer ppl (or better than Charles anyway lol)

• and didn’t have a close relationship w his father

• and uses typically “feminine” nicknames for ppl he cares abt (he calls his son/other family members honey, sweetie, etc)

When Mabel came out to them he immediately got it and then made fun of Charles for being confused lol I don’t think he realizes tho bc he is still old so when he was growing up, it was very taboo and there wasn’t as much language/labels to describe these feelings, even within the community. He either hasn’t identified his feelings as romantic or assumes everyone feels that way so he’s never really cared abt it

Something I noticed while watching OMitB:

Charles' patter song "Which of the Pickwick Triplets Did it?" is very much like S3 so far.

In the beginning of the season, our trio were solely looking at people who had close contact with Ben (Dickie, the Cast, the Stage Manager, ect), much like how everyone involved with the case in Death Rattle Dazzle were only trying to figure out which triplet killed their mother since they were the only ones in the room when she was killed.

In this most recent episode, which is the 2nd to last, Oliver, Charles, and Mable start looking at Cliff and Donna, who, as far as they know, weren't really close to Ben. Towards the end of the patter song, the Constable sings the lines "Has my inspection been too cursory? Should I look outside this nursery? What if none of the Pickwick Triplets did it? Who'd have had a menacing motive and hid it? Who? Who? Who? Well, I. Pick. You!" These lines mimic the trio shifting their focus from the people close to Ben to other people involved with the show.

all those layers they’re putting Selena in because her weight fluctuated a little from her medicine is... interesting. Her style is still on point as Mable though, and also I want to know where Mable got the time to get a sleek new bob between getting arrested and going back to her apartment. But so far, the cozy vibes of this show is still on point and I still love it.
