"Oooh, I love that one Val.! Elina was always down for a shopping adventure. Despite being in athleisure and an apron most hours of her work day to sort through her beloved florals, her closet said otherwise when it came to be dolled up. There was always a good reason to pick up a new article of clothing. Whether it be a nice mini black dress, a scarf, or even a classic pair of blue jeans. Elina had already picked out a few items for herself. One of them being a new dress for a friend's destination wedding in Cabo two weeks from now. "Can you believe fall is literally here already? I've already seen so much of the pumpkin spice, I don't even think I can actually enjoy it come October," she chuckled.

Spotted: The first round of arrivals at Coachella! Ocean trading in her mermaid tail for a pair of jeans and a cute pair of boots. Luke looking like he's there to relax and honestly, good for him. He looks good too. Valentina looking hot in her leather outfit. Beau looking like he'd rather be surfing than at Coachella, but that's just how he normally looks. Tanner looking like a toddler that wanted to dress himself. Melody looking hot and her heels are the best I've ever seen. Lucas looking like it's his first Coachella. Flynn looking like he's also at his first Coachella. Both of those are good things though. Atlas looking like a hottie with his shaggy hair and honestly, he's just hot. Eric looking like a cute ass skater boy with his look.Juliette looking like when a valley girl tries to be from the deep south, but she makes it work. Petra looking like she's a full blown hippie in her outfit. Anastasia showing off her assets in her outfit. Klaus looking like he's the fronter of a heavy metal band and shouldn't be at Coachella.

Occupation: Social Media Manager
Specialty: Charms (especially illusion charms)
Meet Val, the social media manager for Xiomara Romero Designs and Thorn Street Investigations and the third member of the team before the start of the story.
She created the charm that changes hair color. (Her natural hair color is very dark brown)
Without her, Thorn Street would be dead in the water. She generates most of the traffic for them.
Val met Cici when she was hired on as her social media manager (to take photos for her, and their moms knew each other, it wasn't that exciting) and romance blossomed. Val is fun, energetic, charismatic, always speaks her mind, and is extremely ride or die for her friends (mostly David and Lin). She's very smart and incredibly creative, but sometimes loses her head under pressure.
Other Tidbits
Met Lin in university and quickly became best friends with him
is the only member of the team without any combat skills
used to dye her hair but hated the smell so she came up with the charms on her own

Is constantly trying to help Wallace and David stop working and actually get some social interaction and maybe a date once in a while

I’m so in love with Cora Reilly’s story-telling and characters that I’m re-reading her novels rather than reading something new.
Luca (head of the New York City mafia who married Aria via arranged marriage when he was 23 years old and she was 18 years old) and Remo (head of the Las Vegas mafia who eventually married Serafina after kidnapping her when he was 24 years old and she was 19 years old) are madly, passionately in love with their wives, and we’re supposed to believe Dante (head of the Chicago mafia who married Valentina when he was 35 years old and she was 23 years old, a couple of years after his first wife had died from cancer) loves his second wife the same way. But it just doesn’t ring true. Dante loves Val, but he just doesn’t seem madly, passionately in love with her the way Luca and Remo are in love with their wives.
It actually reminds me of Ned and Catelyn from A Song of Ice and Fire. Ned loved Catelyn, but it didn’t seem like he was in love with her.
Maybe I’m immature and childish, but in order to love a couple, I need the male character to be madly and passionately in love with the female character.
