I didn’t know today was the anniversary for the first LoZ game until I started seeing posts about on my dash today, so I doodle these headshots of different Links Meet AU Links relatively quickly. From left to right a few thoughts about the Links and the drawing process:

Fairy from Recalled at @recalled11 - Very cute, can’t wait to see him in the comic. I couldn’t figure out how to draw his head tho, I don’t know why

Wood from Little Links from @marenwithanm - Chubby cheeks heh. So pinch-able. Honestly the favorite one I drew.

Hope from Linked Spirit at @linkedspirit-fanartfunart - Original Link combined w: Cartoon Link agigjtbkrg. I liked drawing the hair. Don’t think I did the bangs right, but I like the hair.

Scout from Echoes of Courage at @echoes-of-courage - I love the ponytail and curly hair, he’s so cute. I tend to mimic the style of what I’m drawing fanart of when I’ve never drawn a character before, and that’s especially evident with this guy.

Is this true, or a dream?

He can't see. He can't lift a damn finger. Risotto doesn't have a clue where he is. His team is dead. He's supposed to be dead with them. Is he? Was he alive, or was this his own personal purgatory?

The only light at the end of this seemingly never ending tunnel, the only thing proving to Risotto that he truly was alive, was the gentle hands of a nurse. Her soothing voice speaking softly to him, like an angel's harp on his tired ears. No more is the assassin leader of La Squadra, Risotto Nero is a husk of what he once was. He spends his days in bed, slowly falling deeper in love with the woman who saved his life, and reminiscing of what used to be, with the only family he had

tender eyes that shine

Carlos is eight years old.

His favorite food is pizza flavored Kraft macaroni and cheese, his favorite movie is Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron , his best friend is a stuffed koala named Kique, and at this very moment, he’s heartbroken over the passing of his abuela.

“No llores, nieto,” Carlos’ abuelo tells him during the wake of her funeral. Gray clouds are scattered across the sky and coating the somber event in an even more somber tone.

His abuelo crouches down, his joints cracking and popping as he stoops to Carlos’ eye level. He raises a calloused thumb and wipes away the tears that are still falling from Carlos’ wide brown eyes.

“Men like us,” His abuelo continues, his words casting a wide net. ‘Men like us’ is synonymous with anyone that looks like Carlos, has his skin tone, or shares his namesake. “We don’t let the world pity us, we can’t let them see us as soft.”

Carlos nods, wiping away any new tears that are starting to fall. The right sleeve of his charcoal gray suit now comes away colored a staunch black where Carlos’ tears have dampened it.

For some reason, the way his abuelo says ‘soft’ ricochets off of Carlos, as if it were stone and Carlos is a thin sheet of glass nestled into a window pane. It’s left a dent, an imprint, an impression, but hasn’t done enough damage to cause a crack.

Carlos’ bloodshot eyes shine with hesitation as he asks, voice small and insecure, “Reyes men don’t cry?

“Reyes men don’t cry,” His abuelo confirms.
