Chapter Six is HERE - it's NSFW
Excerpt:
Zelda took a drink of her Blood Moon punch, gulping it down quickly. It blazed a fiery sweet trail with an afterburn of sour down her throat to simmer in her stomach right behind where the palm of Link’s hand rested. Zelda placed her hand atop his, and the butterflies danced around the liquor in her belly like nectar.
Being with him was sheer bliss, but Zelda needed more. She wanted to really get to know him, inside and out. That meant asking questions and starting a conversation. Link was good at that; she needed to get better.
“What’s your thesis statement?”
“How instruments and songs shaped Hyrule’s history. A focus on each era.” Link rested his chin on her shoulder. “Here’s one from the Dark Ages. I bet your mom sang it to you when you were a baby, Zel.”
He began humming, and after a few bars, she recognized ‘Zelda’s Lullabye’. She did have a vague recollection of her mother rocking her to sleep while singing the song. Closing her eyes, Zelda relaxed further against him, allowing the simple melody to wash over her.
“Why did Urbosa call me your songbird?” She asked when the song came to an end.
“‘Cuz you’ve inspired me.” Link’s arms tightened about her. “I finished writing your song today. ‘Bosa loves it. I’ll play it for you before we leave on tour tomorrow night.”
Zelda’s breath hitched in her chest, and she smiled. He’d really written her a song? So, maybe he wanted more from her, too. “Really?”
“I told you I would.” He kissed the corner of her mouth. “Thanks for coming out with me tonight, Zel. I’m having a good time.”
“Me too.” And… I think I love you.

Chapter Three - Bliss - read full chapter here
Excerpt:
“Favorite color.” Link’s voice filled her head.
“Huh?”
His laugh was warm and soothing. “Sorry. What’s your favorite color?”
“Oh.” Zelda’s cheeks flamed with the simple question. What would he think when she told him her favorite color? Maybe she should lie. But that could lead to the beginning of little white lies that led to big black lies, and… she was getting ahead of herself. “Turquoise.”
“Heh. Is that before or after you met me?”
Her mouth dropped open. “Before!” She managed to squeak. “And that is not a lie! Mipha wore my favorite sweater last night.”
“Oh yeah? She looked cute in that, but I bet you’d look even better. Maybe you can wear it for me sometime.”
Holy! No. Mipha was dead wrong. He wasn’t shy. He was anything but shy. Mipha hadn’t had his number at all. A thrilling chill ran through Zelda, and oh goddesses, she was thankful the engine rumble masked how her body was trembling.
“In case you were wondering,” Link continued. “My favorite color is emerald green. And before you ask, it was forest green before I met you.”
Oh, Zelda was in trouble.

WIP Wednesday - working title - I Belong to You
Band is inspired by Muse. Below is a playlist link:
Excerpt:
Link revved the throttle before releasing the brake, and Zelda bit back a surprised shriek as the bike shot forward. They drove down the main thoroughfare of the college campus, the wind rushing. The world around them blurred as they picked up speed, and Zelda found her apprehension fading and laughter bubbling up within her. She had never felt so free as she did at this moment.
As they exited the campus drive and merged onto the main road leading away from the university, Link’s voice whispered in her ears, intimate and close within the helmet. “I need to stop for gas before the movie.”
Zelda nodded her head before remembering he couldn’t see her and vocalized an ‘ok’. Her hands reflexively flinched when he leaned into a turn, and she followed suit like he’d instructed her before they left her dorm. Motorcycle riding 101. She felt his abdomen flex through the soft cotton of his t-shirt, and her thoughts drifted south. The hem was inches away from her fingertips, and it was so tempting to slip her hands beneath to feel skin on skin.
But that could lead to the beginning of little white lies that led to big black lies, and she was getting ahead of herself. “Turquoise.”

Excerpt:
Zelda recognized the 6-string bass guitar shaped like a Hylian shield and walked over for a better look. Next to it was a sparkling silver electric guitar, similar to Revali’s blue triangular-shaped one. The other two were an acoustic covered in colorful stickers of all shapes and designs and an unadorned classical guitar.
“Are all these yours?” Zelda reached for the silver one but withdrew her hand, uncertain if he would mind if she touched it.
“Yeah. You can hold any of them you want.” Link reached down, lifting the guitar off its stand to hand to her. “This one’s my first and favorite. Much to my parents' dismay, my grandmother gave it to me when I was ten.” He laughed at a memory, and Zelda tried to imagine what he must have been like at that age. Precocious maybe? Trouble definitely.
The guitar was heavier than she would have imagined, and she held it tightly by the neck while she ran her fingers over the smooth, lacquered surface. “If this is your favorite, why do you play the bass with Hyrule Warriors? You and Ganondorf formed the band, right?”
“Somebody has to.” He took the guitar when she returned it to him and placed it on the stand.
Zelda turned away from the guitars to look over at him. “What do you mean?”
“The bass player is underrated but an important part of a band, like the drums.” Link shrugged. “Bass suits me better. Rev prefers the limelight, I don’t.”

WIP Wednesday - Chapter Eight excerpt:
“Did you like the bouquet Link gave you?” Paya snipped a few silent princesses and sundelions and placed them in the container.
“I did.” Zelda chewed on her lip, watching Paya work. Her lithe fingers handled the delicate flowers with extreme care. She probably wouldn’t appreciate it if Zelda recounted how Link had carelessly tossed them onto Zelda’s desk the other evening. “How do you know Link?”
“I take piano as an elective. Link’s my teacher.” Paya handed Zelda the test tube and reached for a small pot. “He’s very nice and so talented and handsome. You’re so lucky.”
“Why would you say that?” Lucky? Zelda didn’t feel very lucky in love. At least her research was beginning to bear fruit, if nothing else in her life was.
“Isn’t he your boyfriend? How he talked about you when he saw my flowers the other day, it seemed pretty obvious he was.” The dreamy look in Paya’s eyes made it clear that she seemed to think she was speaking the truth.

Excerpt:
Zelda had never been around such free spirits before. The atmosphere buzzed with their camaraderie, and she was surprised at how comfortable she’d become despite having just met the group. She took a sip of her ale and settled back into her chair. Link peeled a cocktail napkin off the pile he was writing on and slid it across the table toward her, fingers slightly spread so Zelda could see there was writing hidden beneath. She risked looking over where he sat across from her. His shoulder-length, pink-streaked, dark blond hair was tucked behind his perfectly pointed ears, which she now realized were pierced with hoops that matched his turquoise eyes. Eyes that were shining brightly at her while their friends drank, talked, kissed, and laughed uproariously around them.
Daruk slapped him on the back, knocking over his tall pint of ale in the process, and shouted something in Link’s ear, completely oblivious to the huge spill he’d just made. Link’s beautiful eyes widened as the force of the blow jarred him, and with a resigned shrug that sent the Farosh tattoo rippling down his arm, he gave Zelda an apologetic grin before turning his attention back to his friend.
His fingers disappeared from the napkin to help mop up the mess. Zelda reached out to snatch it off the table before the amber liquid oozing over the tabletop smudged the inked note.
Wanna go see the movie tomorrow?
Her hand clenched the napkin, wrinkling the note. He’d asked her out.

WIP Wednesday - I Belong to You
Chapter Four Excerpt:
“You’re a Kass fan, huh?” Link called from her room. “You must have hated our concert. Good lie last night to Revali. He’d be pissed if he found out you like Kass.” The sound of Link’s genuine laughter did little to assuage Zelda’s dismay.
She scrunched up her nose and groaned. First, she’d forgotten about the journal and then the poster of Hyrule’s number-one pop singer, Kass, that hung above her headboard. Grabbing the bottle and a corkscrew lying on the fridge, she returned to her room to find Link standing at the foot of her bed, squinting at said poster, rubbing his thumb over his lips, and her cheeks turned bright red.
Link glanced over, and the distant look in his eyes brightened when he saw the bottle of wine clutched in her hand. “Hey! You found a bottle. Great!” He reached for the wine. “Here, let me.”
She handed him the bottle and the corkscrew as she thought of a way to save the conversation and face. “I can’t like Kass and alternative rock?”
“Do you?” Link raised an eyebrow as he twisted the corkscrew, and she admired how his biceps flexed with that simple movement. Pushing the plunger down, he pulled the cork out with a loud pop.
“Not until yesterday.”
He glanced up at her, blue eyes glowing, and returned the smile she was giving him.
“Heh. I’m rubbing off on you already, Zel.” He dropped the corkscrew on her desk and perused the cluttered shelves. “I can write you a song worthy of Kass. Just give me a few days. Glasses?”
Write her a song? Zelda thought she may faint. Her heart flip-flopped in her chest at the thought, even as she marveled at his boast. “Wow! You are confident.”
“No, just inspired by a muse.”

WIP Wednesday - I Belong to You : Chapter Nine excerpt
“So, do you wanna drive?”
“What?” Zelda paused, strapping her helmet on. “Are you kidding?”
Link shook his head. “It’s easy. I’ll teach you. It’s like riding a bike. You know how to ride a bike, right?”
Zelda laughed. He was crazy. “A motorcycle’s not the same as a bicycle, Link.”
“Sure, it is.” Link sat on the passenger seat, gesturing for her to take the front. “Come on, it’ll be an adventure.”
If crashing and burning was his idea of adventure, okay. Zelda stepped closer, eyeing the handlebars like they might jump up and bite her. Link laughed again when she blew her breath, reaching over to take her hand and guiding her closer. Taking a deep breath, Zelda sat in front of him. He shifted forward, placing his hands on her waist, and she took in a shuddering breath when his chest pressed against her back. Goddesses, did he know what he did to her with just a simple touch?
“Just remember to relax.” Link took her hands and placed them on the handles. “Left handle’s the clutch, right handle’s the throttle and front brake. Like a bike, don’t squeeze that front brake too quick. Slow and steady, even if you’re scared, okay?”
“Uh-huh.” Zelda squeezed the brake handle tightly even though the bike was parked and not running.
Link tapped her left foot with his. “That peg right above the footrest is the gear shift. All you gotta do is tap it up with your foot to shift gears. We’ll go slow, so you won’t have to worry too much about that.”
Zelda looked down at the foot pegs, spotting a wider lever on the right. “Is this the rear brake?”
“Yeah!” The smile in Link’s voice was contagious, and Zelda found herself grinning even if she was terrified of the machine she was straddling. Link pointed to a button in the middle of the engine. “Press this button to start her up.”
“Oh, Hylia.” Zelda swallowed, gripped the brake tighter, and pressed the button. The engine rumbled to life beneath them, and she jumped, pushing back against Link.
His hands tightened around her waist, warm and reassuring. “I won’t let you fall."

WIP Wednesday!
Two wip ideas today that I have barely started on....
Tumblr media
The first is a one-shot called Giving Her Away
Summary: another Link introspective (because that is where my brain goes a lot) title is self-explanatory, but it would be Link's thoughts about giving his daughter away.
The idea:
He’s giving her away. His first born, his baby girl. His daughter. How is this happening?
Does this man, boy, really even love his daughter? Is he going to be able to take care of her? Protect her?
Tumblr media
The second could either be a steamy one-shot or potentially a ficlet.
It is currently untitled, but it involves an alternative college band. And the members?
Lead guitarist/singer: Revali
Bass guitarist: Link
Drummer: Daruk
Keyboards: Ganon (he's not the bad guy! this is a pure fluff piece. Okay, maybe he will just be a bad influence...)
Excerpt:
Mipha’s boyfriend, Revali, was spot-lighted, front and center, carelessly swinging his guitar about as he showed off with an obscenely gratuitous guitar solo. Every once in a while, screaming into the mic. He would fry his vocal cords if he kept up that nonsense.
But Zelda could care less about him. She couldn’t tear her eyes away from the bass guitarist. How had she never noticed this man walking around on campus before today? The heavy kohl liner smudged around his maddeningly long lashes, made his turquoise blue eyes practically pop - two glowing coals of blue that she wanted burning her skin with their gaze, not the sticky stage floor. And his long, nimble fingers, picking out chords on a bass guitar shaped and painted to look like an ancient Hylian shield, sent not-so-nice thoughts of what else those fingers might be good at running like wildfire through her brain. She didn’t even care that all the drunk students were jostling her, pressed in close, dancing to the music.
That's all I have. Is it worth my time to pursue either of these in the future? Thanks for the feedback!

WIP Wednesday - I Belong to You
Chapter five excerpt:
“I found your love doodles,” Mipha announced, walking in from the bathroom, giving Zelda a teasing wink and a smile, dropping the opened journal on the desk as she sat in the chair. “So, tell me. How’d your date go?”
Zelda couldn’t stop the smile that crept over her face or the flush. “It was….amazing.” She looked over at Mipha, biting her lip. “He asked me to lunch today, but I don’t know what to wear.” She turned back to her closet. Zelda wanted to wear her turquoise sweater, but she hadn’t done her laundry, so she’d have to save it for another day. “He said I’m beautiful.”
“You are, Zelda.” Mipha came to stand beside her and began looking through the clothes. “He seemed to really like your white dress. Maybe wear another one?”
“Professor Impa will look at me cross-eyed if I show up for my science lab in a sundress.” But now that Mipha had mentioned it, Link probably would like it.
“So what? Professor Impa is ancient and out-of-touch.” Mipha scoffed, sorting through Zelda’s clothes. “You’re a young, brilliant, vivacious scientist.” She glanced at Zelda. “Go look in the mirror and repeat that to yourself while I find something suitable for you to wear.”
“Really, Mipha? A mantra?” Mipha stared at Zelda with raised eyebrows until Zelda finally obeyed and went to stand in front of the mirror hanging on the back of her door.
She scrunched her damp hair and tugged on the neck of her pink robe. Her emerald-green eyes stared wide-eyed back at her. She pinched her cheeks and watched roses bloom soon after. “I’m a young, brilliant, vivacious scientist.” Grimacing, Zelda looked over her shoulder at Mipha. “This is stupid.”
“Keep going.”

Chapter Seven Excerpt:
“You needed moral support to talk to me about us?” She asked once the bartender had retreated to fill Link’s order. She may have hissed that question through clenched teeth, but could anyone blame her?
“Uh, you sounded really angry over the phone, so he thought I could use his help…” Link trailed off and fiddled with the cocktail napkin the bartender had laid before him. Watching him twist the napkin between his chipped black fingernails, visions of Link writing the note asking her out at Tetra’s ran through Zelda’s mind.
“Oh, my goddesses, Link. Did you tell him about our fight?” Zelda glanced over at Ganondorf, who watched her with his cool, cool amber eyes. What exactly did Link and Urbosa see in him?
Link spread the napkin flat when the bartender returned with his drink and glanced at Zelda. “Did you tell Mipha?”
What kind of question was that? “Of course I did! But do you see her here, Link? Skulking in a booth drinking a noble pursuit, and glaring at you like Ganondorf is me right now?! You promised! Remember that?”
Glancing over his shoulder, Link narrowed his eyes and made a ‘kill it’ gesture that did have Ganondorf averting his hard stare down into his frothy drink. Turning back, Link took a large gulp of his ale, draining half the glass before speaking.
“If you heard how you sounded on the phone…”

Excerpt:
“Hi, Mom, it’s me. Sorry to have worried you and Dad.” Zelda settled on a bench outside the Ancient Research Institute, setting the pot beside her, and gazed over at the tree where Link had been composing.
“That’s all right, Zelda. We know you’re busy trying to wrap things up before graduation.” Sonia’s warm voice eased some of Zelda’s anxiety, and she took a deep breath. “Is everything okay, honeybun? You sound depressed.”
Zelda bit her lip, wondering if she should ask her mother for advice. She and her father had been married for twenty-five years and were still going strong. In Zelda’s opinion, sometimes too strong, as she would very much prefer not to see them kissing quite so deeply while cooking dinner, but, “How did you know you and Dad were meant for each other?”
“Well,” Sonia paused, and Zelda could hear her rings clicking against the phone handle as her mother adjusted it to her ear. “I didn’t, at first. I hadn’t even thought about it until he surprised me and asked me out one day. I thought, ‘Why not?’ I wasn’t expecting anything other than a nice evening out, but by the end of the night, I was head over heels in love. Why? Have you met someone?”
“Maybe, I don’t know?” Zelda’s thoughts were a jumbled mess. All she knew was if she didn’t have this breakthrough to investigate, she’d probably be taking the next bus to whatever city Hyrule Warriors was playing in to beg Link for a second chance. “I haven’t been able to stop thinking about him since I met him.”
“What’s he like?”
“Sweet, kind, funny, even though his jokes are terrible. Thoughtful - he really cares about his friends.” Even creepy Ganondorf. Zelda would love to know what not-high-as-a-kite Ganondorf was like since Link hadn’t given up on his best friend yet. Maybe it was more that Link didn’t back down from a challenge, which meant there was still hope for her, no matter how the odds were stacked. “And, Mom, so talented. If you heard Link play the piano and sing…”
“It sounds like you’re already in love with this Link.” Zelda could hear the smile coloring her mother’s voice as her father chimed in from the background, ‘Who’s Link?’
Thanks, as always to @zeldaelmo and @hyylia for their support!! TYSM, friends!!

Sneak peek for Chapter Ten of I Belong to You:
Zelda clutched her scalp as the sounds of their struggle continued unseen behind the couch. She couldn’t just stand there watching the spectacle unfold before her. Patting her pockets, she had neither her keys nor her phone. They were still on Link’s desk. Spinning, she ran to his room and snatched up the phone, pressing the speed dial for Mipha.
“Please pick up. Please pick up!” She paced back and forth as the line rang in her ear. Finally, on the third ring, Mipha answered. “Mipha! Help! Ganondorf and Link are fighting!”
“Zelda? Slow down! What?”
“Please! There’s a small black bag in my refrigerator; it has a sample of my latest serum. Get it and bring it to Link’s apartment!” Zelda shrieked and scrambled onto the bed, crouching in the corner by the window when running footsteps approached the bedroom. She nearly screamed again into the phone when…

The ride is going to get bumpy! Maybe it's time to get off..
Excerpt:
Link: Wanna stop by to watch us rehearse today?
Zelda: Sure! When?
Link: Anytime. We’ll be in the band room in the Eastern Abbey bldg.
Zelda had expected to hear the sound of Hyrule Warriors as soon as she entered the lobby of the Eastern Abbey. If not for the muted cacophony of students rehearsing in various practice rooms, she would have thought the building was empty since there wasn’t a soul in sight.
She followed signs on the walls for the band room until Zelda found herself standing in front of a set of double doors. Pulling on the handle of one of the doors, she stepped into an ample space with wide, tiered platforms on which chairs and scattered music stands were arranged to face the whiteboard on the far wall. Daruk’s drumset and the band’s instruments sat on the bottom level, but none of its members were in evidence except for Tulin. He sat slouched in a chair on the bottom tier, reading an Adventures of Tingle and Beedle comic book, but sat up when he heard the door.
“Hey. Tulin, right?” Zelda waved down at him; her voice resonated in the room, amplified by the acoustic panels that hung along the walls made to minimize echoes. “Um, I’m Zelda. Is Link around?”
Tulin stifled a yawn as he rose from his chair, stretching. “Yeah, dunno where he is, though. They’re taking a 30-minute break. ”
“Oh, ok. Thanks.” Hmmm, Zelda pulled out her phone, but Link hadn’t texted her.
Zelda: Hey, I’m here, but you’re not. Bad timing, I guess.
