WHY WE MUSYC: Robin Lovejoy
I've always had the music in me, but an acting class was my surprising way of getting to it. First, I had to confront my fears about sharing my voice openly with others and the stage was a great catalyst for this. Once there, I lost myself in that surreal world of stories and character voices which somehow made me feel safe. Then, my Mom gave me the vintage guitar that belonged to my father who has since passed. He fronted a band in his heyday. I never thought a woman could play the guitar and assumed it was only for men, only for my father. Not sure what rebellious thing got into me, but I taught myself how to play that godforsaken instrument after it sat and collected dust for several years. Ironically, I never thought I had anything to write about. I found myself power listening to Jimmy Page and other rock & blues players with an urgent need to express all my pain and sorrow I had held in since childhood. Why I Musyc? I make music to feel alive and to share that feeling of liberation with others.
Robin Lovejoy is a rock n roll chanteuse & guitarist originally from the East coast, but now calls San Francisco her home. She is the main songwriter and frontwoman for Amalgamation, an alternative rock band who have been diligently paving their way for the last decade. They were awarded "Best Band" via SF Weekly's Best of the Bay and twice awarded via the Bay Area Bands4Bands Organization. With her multi-octave range and classical training, she can roar. Channeling the likes of Led Zeppelin, Grace Potter, & PJ Harvey, Robin conjures up a musical mojo that is provocative, yet spiritual. Her intent is to preserve the rock n roll ethos wholeheartedly by spinning songs of truth for all thinkers & lovers.

would any rich people like to commission me to draw something. I'm trying to buy resale tickets for a concert (lovejoy sf!) that’s in 10 days, it’s on my LITERAL FUCKING BIRTHDAY, and I can’t find any tickets ANYWHERE under $200..... I could just try to get money and then hypothetically buy only one and go by myself, but that would be scary and dangerous for me (im a minor.) so I'd have to buy two :(( I will literally draw nearly anything at this point !! I just. aughghg. I really really want to go :(( we tried to get tickets when they dropped but they were all bought up by bots and resellers, I only know of like two or three actual people who got tickets :(( all my commission info is in my pinned! I take PayPal and cashapp ^_^

The Alcove is normally one of our go-to options when we want good food before a Celtics or Bruins game. Remember the Celtics and Bruins? Those two teams who were extremely well-positioned to make championship runs before the entire world came to a screeching halt? Anyway, Alcove’s burger is available for either delivery or pickup, and it’s a good one that comes topped with cave-aged cheddar.
