Redraw of the first Martian fanart I ever made :o) I split it into 2 pages for the sake of pacing.
Makes me think about how cool it would be to have a graphic novel version of The Martian! Though in the end it might be too tricky to translate it into a comic. These 2 pages are already quite wordy and the rest of the book is even wordier lol

basically I trust your judgement on gags vs no gags. The funny comics are funny and the serious comics are well-paced. I think you wanna stay fluid with it, if a comic doesn’t really have space for a gag then you can just leave it out, but the gags don’t ruin the serious parts when they’re present

its probably obvious just from looking at the work itself that i also enjoy it when theres a balance + like to play around with the weights of said balance xD (and there are definitely parts of this that need to be played For Serious if i'm going to dig into it fully, so having room to do that is good)
me writing a comic that's not that deep. Until It Is
ofc i can see there's some real gag-lovers in the votes (at least at this time) so i will of course try not to neglect the sillies for too long even in dire times. besides if i go too long without drawing a gag i start pacing my enclosureMBFHDSB
