Thinking about the mess with Lois almost marrying Lex Luthor at the end of season one in Lois & Clark, and how it makes sense for her character as she is in season one (her ambition and confidence as a journalist, and the endless praise she gets for that - which, in this case, turn against her and her better judgment), when you take the time to think about it and not just yell for 90 minutes straight.

#lois lane #lois and clark: the new adventures of superman #reminder @myself #we as an audience are in the know about luthor and how evil he is #but the characters are NOT!!#(except for clark but that’s not the point here)#lois’s overconfidence in her reporter instincts by that point actually does her a disservice in that particular case i think #lois has to be the best at everything #(and we love her for that don’t get me wrong)#but she always wants to be right #and she doesn’t want to acknowledge when she’s not #and she took a lot of things at face value by the end of the season #and didn’t question them because she had too much confidence in her ‘instincts’#and didn’t actually take a minute to listen to her friends #and reassess the situation #i mean she is VERY stubborn and sometimes not for her own good #ANYWAYS #i mean that’s what i tell myself #and not that it was just a very poor decision on the writers’ part #do i make sense #this deserves an essay but my thoughts are too jumbled to be put into something coherent rn
