"Why do you write like you need it to survive?" because he does he does he does. he wouldn't have survived if he hadn't begun clerking for the landlord or worked in a trading charter, jobs that inherently require skills in writing. he wrote about the hurricane's destruction of his hometown so poignantly that people decided to help him in furthering his education, KEEPING HIM ALIVE. and as much as he wanted to be something else, as much as he wanted a troop of men to command, hamilton as an adult/young man was NOTHING without his writing. he wouldn't have been washington's right hand man, he wouldn't have gone to the winter's ball to meet eliza, he wouldn't have wooed her with his letters or convinced her father, he wouldn't have built his career or been a founding father. he would have died, a bastard, orphan, impoverished. dead. "Why do you write like you need it to survive?" because he DOES. that's why hamilton could never let an insult go, that's why he always needed to write back, that's why he never stopped reaching for more, because without his writing, without his wit, without his rapid responses, he is NOTHING

It's always; "Hamilton shot first." "No, no it was Burr!"
But it's never "Lin Manuel Miranda got so sick of writing Hamilton and used a time machine and proceeded to shoot Hamilton in the ribs"
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk!
Credits go to my dumb dumb brain

Hamilton Lyrics stuck in my head (no order):
- "I heard about Burr" (Let it go, 2014)
- "Were you here this whole time???" (Let it go, 2014)
- "Close the door on your way out." (Right Hand Man, 2015)
- "WE'RE RELIABLE W/ THE LADIES" (Winters Ball, 2015)
- "Is that a yes?/Uhm... Yes" (We know, 2015)
- "YOYOYOYOYOYOYOYOYOYOYOYOYOYOYOYOYOYOYOYO" (Aaron Burr, sir, 2014)
- "Angelica~/All the way from London?/Damn!" (The Reynolds Pamphlet, 2015)
- "HEY HEY HEY HEY HEY" (A Winters Ball, 2015/Helpless, 2015)

So I've been making remixes and mashups for while, and I've gathered basic knowledge of music. However, I've never made my own true original song. Until now. It's short, but I managed to make a basic melody and bass line, which is the hardest part for me. This song was inspired by (surprisingly) the Factorio Burner Inserter. It's the slowest, dirtiest, grimiest, and lowest-tech inserter in the game, and I wanted to encapsulate that in the song. It's chiptuney, which is what I'm familiar with, but I think I pulled it off well.
I'm happy with this and I want to continue this. I might make a breakcore song for the Fast Inserter. I could also port this to XM for use in Infinitode 2.

Ok you know what I feel like sharing these. Here's a little sample of things I've made in LMMS
Really proud of this Megalovania remix I think it's good.
One of the few originals I've made that's actually good and finished. It's kinda like Megaman X.
Idk why I used MatPat's voice in this but I did. It was probably a placeholder.
This is one of the many attempts at making an original FnF song for my own mod that I never made. This song isn't finished (like most of them). Edit: also just remembered this uses the undertale dog sound as a placeholder if it wasn't obvious.

Hey fellas, I'm honestly going to do something almost no one will care about, but for the few that do, welcome to
THE BLUESIFIED MONTHLY UPDATE
April Edition
So, I essentially just wanted to make something to talk about my recent accomplishments, life events, and share some snippets of upcoming projects. Think of the Deltarune newsletter, except considerably less people care.
================================================
Finally, back on the grind!
This month I started on many new projects, including a new youtube video (I just uploaded it today!). It's on Voices of the Void, a game I found and have loved for a lil while. Check it out (if you want, ofc!)
I'm also working on a Garry's Mod video, so that's coming at some point.

Music??
I love music, and have loved music ever since I was a young kid slamming my hands on my grandmothers piano. I would play several notes at once to make nice sounds, not knowing that that's what a chord was and I wasn't some young prodigy. Sorry, young me.
Point is, I've always been fascinated by music. About a year ago I started creating tunes in LMMS, a free music creation tool. I highly recommend it if you want to try creating music! Anyway, I ended up creating some basic songs, most of which are pretty rough. I grew up playing trumpet, and that helped me with timing and tempo, but its not really the same as using a computer program.
However!
There is one that I'm still decently proud of. I made it after a period of time where I was going through it, and felt like I was barely holding on to my sanity. I made it through, but thought a lot about how things could have gone differently, how close I came to snapping. So, I made a musical piece I so aptly labeled "Descent".
I listened to it today, and felt like recreating it, using my current knowledge and FL Studio. Over this week I'll be recreating it from scratch, and adding a bit more. However, I wanted to share the original here, because despite it's flaws, I'm still proud of it.
So, here it is. Enjoy!
(Going to work on more music soon, so stay tuned :D)
(If you can let me know how to get music on spotify that would help SO MUCH im so lost)
================================================
And that's about it for now!
A bit long winded, but thanks for reading my rambling. Now, if you will excuse me, I'm going to play MCC island because my friend introduced me to it and I must do parkour.
Bye bye!

I created two new tracks based on Donkey Kong Country Returns, intended for a certain future project. These tracks are based on a certain idea- what was DK Island like prior to the kongs arriving, and the era in which the Tiki Tak Tribe were dominant? The first song, "Tiki Jungle Jaunt", is a non-DK replacement for "Jungle Hijinx"'s first half. Meanwhile, the second song, "Tiki Jungle Depths", is the same for the elongated second half of "Jungle Hijinx", as heard in DKCR.
These songs were composed in LMMS.

I kinda procrastinated again, but it's no big deal. Had a great birthday yesterday and had some free time to fix of my abandoned projects.

One thing I really enjoy doing that most people don't do
in lams (musical) fanfic is adding that cool as hell latin
touch to some of John and Alex's dialogue, some of the
items they own, and topics they discuss.
that most of the time get brushed over with white
washing, just genuinely forgetting to or not thinking it's
going to fit in the story, or feeling like it's not historically
accurate but most of the musical isn't, it's a story about a
founding father told through POC people.
I'm just saying it adds another level of realism and adds
the Lin and Anthony touch to it so it's something to
consider adding to your books.
Also this is a reminder that both Lafayette and Alex are
modern day immigrants coming from different cultures
and with Laf an entire different language.
If they are new to America in your book write them as
such.
This isn't targeted or anything It's just my opinion about
stuff I apologize for ranting this is just something I've
wanted to talk about for awhile because it is such a huge
part of Hamilton and it gets glossed over a lot of the time
in fanfic.
Sorry about that

Whenever I'm feeling discouraged or I'm doubting myself, I find myself comparing my art to people I idolise- Taylor Swift, Lin-Manuel Miranda etc. And one thing that really helps with that is listening to their demo tracks- the ones they reccorded in their tiny little home studios with very basic equipment.
It makes me realise that the versions of them that we see are the polished, filtered versions- never that first draft.
I'm very much in the "demo" stages of my music. Everything that I put out right now will sound like I recorded it in my bedroom at 3am using a sock pulled over a coat-hanger as a pop shield, because that's what I did. I will get better with time, practice, and money for better equipment. Right now, though, there’s no harm in putting what I’m doing out there anyway.
There's no point in comparing myself to the Original Broadway Cast Recording of Hamilton, because that's way beyond what I'm even close to accomplishing, but listening to the Hamilton Demos, I can get a good idea of where I'm supposed to be at the moment, in my first, second, third drafts.
Every piece of art, whether it's crochet or writing or painting or music, will start with the first draft. Trust the process, and one day that shitty little demo will become your masterpiece :)
