Living With Schizophrenia #11
When you're having an "episode" and the person/people around you start freaking out more than you are by far.

The "Hannah takes time off from work so she doesn't get walking pneumonia twice in one year," sabbatical is going well. I would also like to say that not all sicknesses and illnesses are visible, or safe to talk about publicly without subjecting ones's self to criticism, unjust stigma and harsh judgement. Please respect my need for rest, for safety, and for privacy. If I tell you I am sick, if I have to reschedule an appointment, if I tell you I am unavailable to work a certain day or hour, please do your best to cultivate patience- I understand that the desire to have your tattoo finished in a timely fashion is valid, and WILL be honored- but I have to put myself first. I will be back to work soon, and if you have emailed, prepaid, written or texted regarding an appointment, know that I will be in touch shortly, but I will not apologize for honoring myself first, or making my physical and mental health my first priority- so I can continue to do my very best that I can do and further cultivate the skill set that lets me do what I love more than anything for a living ✨ . . #theneedlewitch #livingwithmentalillness #endthestigma #livingwithschizophrenia #selfcare #selflove #putyourselffirst #paranoidschizophrenia #paranoidschizophrenic #thisiswhatschizophrenialookslike #tattooistsofinstagram (at Olympia, Washington)

Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu's Message about World Mental Health Day 2014
at c|change, we're fortunate to have the opportunity to work with many wonderful clients. One of whom we're very proud of is the World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH)--a client we've partnered with for several years.
So, when we were made aware that Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu had released a letter in support of WFMH's 2014 World Mental Health Day, we jumped (quickly!) at the chance to get his letter up on the WFMH website. Please take a moment to read why Archbishop Desmond Tutu "wholeheartedly supports the 2014 World Mental Health Day theme, 'Living with Schizophrenia" and how you too can join him in celebrating this important day on October 10.

Living With Schizophrenia #12
When someone tells you something and you say "you already told me that" because you truly remember it and they didn't so they just think you're uninterested.

My voices often tell me I'm lazy and achieve nothing day-to-day. My new "work log" diary is helping me challenge them by reminding me of how much I actually do throughout the week.
