Crosshair: You really put aside everything and came all this way for me? How did you even get here so fast? Hunter: Several traffic violations. Echo: Three counts of resisting arrest. Wrecker: Roughly thirteen cans of energy drinks. Tech: Also, that’s not our ship.

I keep rewatching that epilogue scene and, the way Hunter and Omega talk about her joining the Rebellion... You can tell this is not the first time they're having this conversation. And I just can't help but wonder what the previous one(s) must have looked like.
Because something tells me it wasn't peaceful.
I just can't imagine Hunter having any other reaction than an immediate, definitive "absolutely not" the first time he hears about Omega wanting to join the Rebellion. Just like I can't imagine Omega being okay with that reaction.
Were they arguing about it? Were they butting heads and not backing down from their respective points? Because they would. Absolutely, they would.
Did their brothers have conversations with both of them separately? Did Wrecker tell Omega to give Hunter a break because he's old and worried? Did Crosshair convince Hunter that he can't keep a grown woman grounded just because he's scared about her? Did Echo tell him that if this is Omega's calling, he has to let her do her thing?
She tried to sneak off. As if she didn't want to go through this again. As if she thought leaving without a goodbye would be easier on everyone and this way no one can stop her. After all, she made up her mind. She's going. But when she turns the light on and spots Hunter sitting there, she's not even surprised. She nods to herself like of course. Of course he's here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This literally sounds like they've been over this before. But this time the conversation is surely more peaceful. They both have the other's perspective in their minds now.
This is my choice and I know it scares you but I need you to understand.
I know I won't change your mind but I don't want you to go, I want you to be safe.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This must have been said before as well. Maybe in anger. Maybe in pleading. Or desperation. I wouldn't be surprised if Omega got very frustrated with Hunter for treating her like she's still a kid. Nor would I be shocked if Hunter had trouble articulating his point of view in all his worry and panic. But here, it's a confession. It's very vulnerable. It's the truth Hunter doesn't want to hear and gives a reason why.
Omega is a grown woman now. Skilled, capable, brave. Hunter doesn't doubt that. But to him, she's always going to be his little girl no matter how old she is and I am still speechless at the fact that we actually see him not only struggling with it but also admitting to it.
Back on Pabu, after they escaped Tantiss, Hunter told her: "We've all fought enough battles for one lifetime." And now, years later, Omega echoes this back to him. "You've all fought enough." Almost like she's reading Hunter's mind and knows that if he can't stop her, he's going to want to join her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The way he wants to reach after her here when she gets up. Like he wants to say wait, no, don't go yet!
But this is her fight, just like she says. She's never been able to sit still, we know that, we've seen that. Just like Echo back in season 2, she can't stand the thought of staying down and doing nothing when there are people out there fighting for freedom. People she can help. She's a skilled pilot now (I can bet she'll become most famous in the Rebellion for her flawless Tech-Turn), she has absorbed everything her brothers have taught her over the years like a sponge and now she wants to use that. After years of living away from the fight, she's finally ready to get back out there and make a difference in the galaxy. Fight for peace because that is her calling.
She's ready, but Hunter is not.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You can tell it's literally tearing him apart to watch her go. That's his baby, the whole reason he's living the life he has now. He gave his blood, sweat and tears so she could grow up safe and happy and away from the Empire's clutches. And now she's going back right into them, willingly.
But she's all grown up. And he has no choice but to let her go do her thing. So he holds her close and I don't doubt sends out a prayer that she comes back to him safe and in one piece. He closes his eyes and commits the feeling to memory because who knows when will be the next time he gets to do this?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And it might be destroying him inside but he's so damn proud. And he knows she's got this. She doesn't need her old man to watch her back anymore.
And yet still this old man, with gray in his hair and beard, this old man whose posture is hunched and who is moving slowly and having difficulty standing up because of his accelerated age, is telling his very grown up and very capable daughter that if she needs him, he's going to pick up his blaster, don the armor and join her in the fight.
Because that's what fathers do.

Refresher for the people still confused about this...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In a galaxy far, far away, EVERYONE has midi-chlorians in their blood. The Force resides in all living things. It binds the whole galaxy together. Midi-chlorians are what allow beings to commune with the Force. The more midi-chlorians you have, the more potential you have to RESPOND TO and WIELD the Force. But notice that Asajj couches her statement with the line that those with a higher m-count were "believed" to be more capable of wielding the Force. There's a correlation, but it's not necessarily the only factor (see Sabine Wren).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is the moment where the clones literally become stand-ins for the fans.
"What? If you can use the Force, you're a Jedi!"
No. If you can use the Force, you can use the Force. To use it as a Jedi uses it, you have to train as a Jedi. To use it as a Sith uses it, you have to train as a Sith. To use it like a Nightsister, you have to train as a Nightsister. Or you can get some rudimentary instruction and decide how you want to use it.
Tumblr media
Jango Fett didn't have a high m-count, so his clones didn't either. But Omega and the rest of the Batch were special cases. As Cut said, the Kaminoans create with a purpose. Their deviations were intentional. Hunters abilities have always suggested he had a higher m-count than the others. But Omega's ability to perceive things before they happen (her bad feelings are nearly always spot on) and her affinity with animals have always been hints that her m-count is a little higher.
(Will update with screen grabs when I get them)
At the end of the episode, Omega asks Ventress if she has a high m-count.
Ventress: *looking at her nails* From what I've seen...no.
Omega: Then why is the Empire after me?
Ventress: Believe it or not, I don't know everything. But seeing as how a high m-count would make you a target, consider yourself lucky.
Omega: But I'm already a target.
Wrecker: Don't worry about it, kid. We'll figure it out. C'mon, let's get some chow.
Omega: *sigh* Thanks for trying.
Once they're out of earshot...
Crosshair: You're lying.
Ventress: About which part?
Hunter: You tell us.
Ventress: If Omega did have that potential, she'd have to be trained. Which would mean leaving you behind.
Hunter: That's not happening.
Ventress: What you want is irrelevant. The fact is, the Empire is after her, and they won't stop. If I were you, I'd leave this place. You're not as safe as you think you are. Our business is done.
Crosshair: I still can't figure out which side you're on.
Ventress: My own.
Okay, so Ventress is clearly not telling the truth about the m-count, which we know, because we've already seen Omega's charts. I really don't understand why people keep taking Ventress at her word here. We know better, and so do Crosshair and Hunter. My guess is that she's trying to protect Omega because she knows firsthand what it's like to be taken from your family and trained as a young girl.
We know that when Omega was at Tantiss, she was receiving transfusions of blood with midi-chlorians the same as all the other clones (harvested from the dead Jedi they're undoubtedly holding in the vault). They were taking her blood samples, but Nala Se kept throwing them away because she knew Omega would retain the higher midi-chlorian levels and she didn't want Hemlock to know that. The Emperor needs a clone that will maintain a high m-count so he can eventually get himself a new body. We know he does get that body, but not for decades - presumably because a) he never gets Omega, and b) the Batch is gonna take the fight to them at Tantiss and blow up their entire supply of midi-chlorian donors. Think about it - they're still working on Project Necromancer in The Mandalorian (24 years after The Bad Batch), but their resources are severely limited. The Empire has been all but wiped out, the Emperor is hiding out on Exegol, Dr. Pershing is clearly no Hemlock since he keeps killing his test subjects, and Grogu seems to be the only m-count donor they can get their hands on. The Emperor's cloned body is also deteriorating rapidly in TRoS, which suggests that even 25 years after The Mandalorian, he STILL hasn't figured out the right formula for cloning himself (which is good news for Grogu and Omega).
Which brings us back to the question, "Is Omega Force sensitive?"
The answer is, "yes", she is sensitive to the Force due to her elevated m-count. We've seen this all along. Hunter most likely is, too, and maybe some of the other Bad Batchers, to varying degrees. Tech could riot race, which takes incredible reflexes. Hemlock said that Crosshair didn't have a high m-count, and we don't know where Wrecker's abilities stem from. Omega can't wield the Force because she is untrained, but the potential is there. A person's aptitude to wield the Force seems to be strongly correlated to their m-count, but we've seen others with low aptitude eventually open the door to the Force with years of training and a decent dose of impending doom (we see this clearly with Sabine in Ahsoka, but it was also a topic in Legends).
Omega being Force sensitive doesn't mean that she has to leave her brothers. She can choose to pursue her training or not. She'd also have to find someone willing to train her. I'm not convinced Ventress is looking to take on any apprentices at the moment, but she could possibly connect Omega to Quinlan Voss (imagine the trouble those two would get up to).
But I don't think Omega will choose that path. One, it would just make her a bigger target. Two, I don't see her prioritizing power over family. She's a clone, and clones are ALL about family. They're Mando coded, not Jedi coded. Screw the space Buddhist lifestyle - clones parade their attachments around like trophies. Omega goes around collecting attachments like most kids collect rocks..."Hello, stranger trying to kill me, let's be besties."

Perspective on Omega in Ep 11 in the final scene...
So I've seen a lot of people nervous because they believe that Omega thinks the tracker is on the ship when it isn't...is it ok if I offer a new perspective?
I don't typically share my thoughts here but I've been turning this over in my head for a while.
Omega wanted to complete the mission. She KNOWS there's a good chance that the tracker is NOT on the ship. She loves and trusts Crosshair, gave him the chance, but knew there were probabilities that it wouldn't end up there.
Crosshair warned her himself just before this scene. It's too unpredictable. There's no way of knowing if it would work. Even if he landed the shot....that wasn't a definite find either. CX might have technology to knock off the beacon (remember rebels? They could tell they were tagged). Crosshair told her minutes before that getting the tracker on the ship would be difficult due to variables. She wouldn't have discounted this.
Omega knew the island is stormed. Literally anything could have happened to Crosshair in the time they split and she knows this. She was trusting he'd be there. She looked back but that doesn't mean she was confident he made it to the rendezvous on time. It could have been a matter of poor timing. He's delayed by a millisecond? He might not make it before the ship took off.
Omega has spend most of this season seeing Crosshair MISS shots. She wasn't there when he made the big important shot in the cavern. She knows he's healing but hitting stationary objects was hard. Moving ones were harder.
I think for Omega, the most important thing is finishing the mission whether or not Crosshair made the shot. If he did, great, but she's not banking on it. A good strategist looks for multiple options. She'll count on them to look for her, but she's probably already planning on being on her own. She might even be counting on Emerie slightly. But I think mainly, she's depending on her previous experience and knowledge of Tantiss and get the coordinates in any way possible.
She'll do anything to complete the mission.
The peace at the end and the focus was just the precursor to what she's going to unleash. She's not planning to stand by. She's planning on being the storm.

10 Reasons why I think tech is alive and well…and evil
1. The looks
Besides the similar front part of their helmets, their stances and movements show a resemblance.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. Fight movements
Right when I saw this scene it felt familiar to me and then I remembered this very moment of season one. It’s the same attack…
If Tech was forced through the clone x/assassin program, he would’ve been robbed of most of his individuality, like fighting with two blasters for example, while clone x was shown fighting with all obvious choices of weapons of his 99 brothers : sniper rifle, knife and hand to hand combat. They also could’ve shown him with a usual blaster…
3. Relying on Technology
There were multiple moments where clone x checked on his arm data pad, even after it was broken after the building collapsed and his reinforcements had already arrived.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
4. Voice / Noises
Sounds familiar? Tech is the only clone that has a visible British accent and there were definitely hints of that in clone x voice. Also the voice modulator seemed to be a little stronger than with the other clone assassins we’ve seen before, I wonder why…
And when you compare the grunts, they literally sound the same!
5. The height change
A few days into the third season of tbb Star Wars officially changed the height for tech and we all wondered why…. my theory is that they did that because tech's legs got injured after the fall and when the empire put him into the shadow assassin program his height went down to his new height.
Changed the height from 6’4 to 5’10
Tumblr media
6. “But crosshair would know if it was tech”
Probably, but would he tell them? It took him a good while to tell anyone about the information he has gained in his imprisonment..he is still hiding things and if he knows I believe he doesn't want them to know, fearing they would try to get him back and he has realised that there is no chance to do so...the program these clones go through is so much stronger than what the inhibitor chip was.
Also this scene hits a lot different, if it's actually techimplicating this could be a reference to crosshair choosing to stay with the empire instead of the batch at the end of s1
There is also a scene in tantiss where he looks back at clone x...
Tumblr media
7. THE PARALLELS
There were multiple parallels to significant moments and situations that
Tech went through.
- THE FALL sry to remind yall of plan 99, but clone x fell in that tower after crosshair shot his explosive and also in the waterfall fight.
- LIMPING after clone x got injured when the base collapsed, it was like the scenes in season 2 after a crate fell onto techs leg. Also important quote from this episode " I'm a survivor. Remember?"
8. This exact shot
the similarity of these specific shots is undeniable. And both when they come out of the water? Like?!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
9. He’s too pretty to die
No but for real, storytelling wise IT HAS TO BE someone important.my other guesses are Cody, another 99 clone or (brace yourself) a clone of crosshair, like an evil twin
10. Maybe I just miss him

So...
The Clone X isn't Tech, IMO, unless the writing is really bad. If I had to guess, it's Cody. Reasoning:
* General amazing badassery
* I really do feel like Cross--and the rest of them--would know if he was fighting Tech.
* He talks to Cross, while they're fighting, like someone who was there when Cross was (failing to be) re-educated. Not just heard about it, but watched and was disappointed. Cross would KNOW if Tech was one of them and would have already mentioned it.
* Cross explicitly suggests his defective status is why it didn't take. Ofc he could be wrong but if he's not then Tech would be the same.
* Rex's whole cell just got wiped out and he didn't bat an eyelash in terms of The Fight. But if Cody is a Clone X and invades Pabu? That would fuck him up.
* Cross is clearly INTENSELY upset about these guys. Did he watch Cody get wiped clean? (Wonder if this is what he and Omega are gonna discuss...) That would be particularly traumatic.
* Knife action. Who's our other knife guy? Yeah.
* If that was Tech Pabu would already be toast. We know this guy was only activated to kill the other Clone X, NOT to find Omega. If you had someone from Omega's actual squad would you not send him out the second she escaped? Unless his training wasn't done at that point but that also doesn't make a lot of sense because the guy knew about Cross and knew he'd failed the training. So, his was done, or done enough he'd heard about Cross, but the suggestion is they were in together.
I can't see a way to correct the the last part and have that be Tech, not in any way which is consistent with Hemlock's character and behaviors. There's literally no reason, if that's Tech, for them to not have put him to work if he was available as soon as Omega got away. Edit: one suggestion is amnesia. That doesn't account for Cross being immune because he's a 99 but Tech not being immune. We're back where we started except now Cross is wrong about why they couldn't break him AND Tech has no memories. That seems incredibly convoluted.
So anyways IMO p clear Tech is a) in a prison on Eriadu, b) with pirates, c) skulking around Tantiss and stealing people's clothes. He's not the Clone X though.
Bet he and Phee will arrive together.

"Bring Me To My Knees" PART 1
Crosshair/Hunter x Reader Non Gendered SMUT++
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dividers by the talented: @saradika and @4ngelic-wh1spers
Background: Reader and Crosshair are separated from the group during the rescue of Omega and Tech from Mt Tantiss. Two broken people trying to get by in the galaxy. Then two broken people finally dealing with what happened to their group.
Word Count: 2.3K
Warning: Star Wars Canon violence, angst, sadness, crying, guilt, stuff blowing up, swearing, kissing, intercourse, heavy petting, hair pulling kink, smutty/lemony content, lovers triangle with Hunter and Crosshair.
FOR CLARITY, THERE IS A HUNTER FLASHBACK SMUT SCENE IN THIS CHAPTER. THE CROSSHAIR SMUT SCENE IS IN CHAPTER 2. Broke this up in 2 chapters because I just couldn't stop writing...and 4K might be too much for one sitting.
*YES! I know Mesh'la is Mando'a speak for beautiful. However, I personally think it sounds pretty sexy when someone uses it while going to Pound Town. I like it better than baby, honey, girl, boy, lover, whatever. My personal kink. If you aren't caught up, there's a whole Tumblr discussion about if the Clones would even use this language. PLEASE just let me have this one word. Thanks.
I purposely wrote the reader in this fic to be of no specific gender. Tried to carefully craft the sexual scenes to accommodate either gender/non gendered/trans/genderfluid/non-binary. Everyone has hills, valleys, sexual organs, nipples, and erogenous zones. I wrote them into the story, but it's up to you dear reader to put your imagination to work. Hope I have done a good enough job that you can enjoy yourself with Hunter and Crosshair without breaking immersion!
Tumblr media
Explosions and blaster fire filled the air as you, Phee Genoa, and The Batch escaped Mt Tantiss.  Wrecker led the charge, firing away and punching imps.  Phee behind him with a group of prisoners she freed from the facility.  Hunter, his arm around Tech who was barely able to walk, blaster out firing.  You and Omega supported Crosshair bringing up the rear of the group.
The Empire attempted to lock down the facility, engaging all doors on every level.  Hunter got Tech past them as they started to close.
He turned with Tech in tow to shout, “Y/N, Omega, bring Crosshair!  Hurry!!!”
You and Omega would never make it with the slow progress Cross was making.  Grabbing Omega and with a healthy heft, you slid her across the highly polished flooring.  She barely exited past the threshold just as the doors closed.
The last thing you and Crosshair saw was Omega loudly protesting while Hunter grabbed the back of her tunic to yank her out of the way.  And the look of total panic on Hunter’s face.
Tumblr media
“Leave me.”  Crosshair weakly slumped against the steel hallway wall.
“SHUT UP!  Too late for that!!!”  You grabbed Cross’ arm and attempted to pull him up.
He refused to move.  You were warned he might be difficult.
“GET UP NOW YOU FUCKING MOP!!!”  Viciously kicking his upper thigh in heated frustration.
That got his attention.  Crosshair’s head flicked up.  Anger in his eyes.
You grabbed the front of his tunic with both hands, hefting him up, spitting with rage “I’M NOT DYING HERE!  GET UP YOU UNGRATEFUL ASSHOLE!!!”
He managed to stand with his arm around your shoulders.  Pulling your blaster.  “How do we get out of here?”
“How should I know?  Been locked up all this time.”
“KRIFF!  Knew I threw the wrong person under the door!!!”
“Didn’t ask YOU to save me.”
You gritted your teeth and shot the control panel to the door the rest of The Batch disappeared through.  The doors managed to only open a few feet.  You literally stuffed Crosshair into the gap.  His protests were muted by the sound of screams and explosions.  He got stuck halfway through, then you put a foot in his ass and pushed.  He popped through falling into a crouch on the floor.
“You’re INSANE!”
“YES!  KEEP MOVING!!!”
Running up to Cross, you grabbed the back of his tunic and pulled him to his feet.  Both of you ran across the hangar bay.  The Marauder and Phee’s ship were gone.  You weren’t upset, they HAD to leave in a hurry.  It was total chaos.
You both made a beeline for the first empty Imperial ship available.  Entering, you slid into the pilot’s seat and put up the gangplank.  Then commenced firing on every non-friendly that approached.  Some of the other Imperial ships got caught in the crossfire, exploding dramatically.  Crosshair buckled himself into the co-pilot's chair.
As your ship left the hangar, two fighters followed in hot pursuit.  You kept the craft low and entered the thick forest, shooting down trees in your path.  Crosshair held onto his seat white knuckled.
“You’re going to get us killed!”
“Got any better ideas, Fly Boy?  We’re sitting ducks out in the open.”
He shut up and held on.
One ship pulled away from pursuit.
The other followed.  You kept firing, making a path to evade your pursuer.
He didn’t last long. One tree you felled, dragged another with it as you passed.  It caught its wing, flinging the ship to the forest floor, exploding brightly behind you.
Pulling the craft up out of the forest, you ascended...
...where the other Imperial fighter sat waiting!
Close enough to see its pilot in the cockpit, waiting to open fire.
The end of the line. Crosshair inhaled sharply.
The ship exploded suddenly.  And your craft flew through the fiery remains.
“Didn’t think I’d leave you?” Hunter’s voice came over the comm.
You nearly burst into tears of joy.  “Oh, THANK STARS!”
“Let’s get out of here!  Echo’s sending jump coordinates...” You immediately heard blaster fire over their comm. The transmission broke up.
“HUNTER???”
Static.  “...ing to...GO!  Can you hea...” More static.  Comm went dead.  Nothing.
“HUNTER!  HUNTER...COME IN!!!  CAN YOU HEAR ME???”
Crosshair shot you a horrified glance.
The little bit you could discern, your Sergeant’s orders were to leave the planet immediately.  What if they needed help?  You couldn’t leave HIM...them behind!
You brought the ship around and could see a craft trailing fire and smoke behind it.  Looked to be the Havoc Marauder making its way off world.  Several Imperial fighters were gaining on it.  Kicking your ship into gear and taking off in their direction.  You picked off two and allowed the Marauder to make the jump to hyperspace.
The last ship circled round.
Panicking, locking up, “Where did they go?  I don’t have coordinates!”
Crosshair’s terse voice came from the co-pilot's seat, “Pick ANY!  We don’t have time!!!”
“But...we...”
“DO IT or we die!”  Dark eyes bore into your skull.  “I’LL DO IT!!!  You make the jump!”  He furiously typed something into the craft’s dash.
“Jump...NOW!!!”
The Imperial fighter on your tail, firing.
You sat frozen.  Your hand a lead weight on the jump lever.
“DAMMIT!”  Crosshair slammed his hand on top of yours, shoving the lever over.  The black star-studded sky elongated; bright blue light burst through the windscreen.
You sat staring through the windscreen of the ship, blue blurs whizzing past.
“Y/N?”
A hand suddenly on your shoulder.
“WHAT!”  You jumped and snapped upright.
“You...went away for a while...”
Staring at Crosshair’s unreadable expression.
“We’ll find them.  Take some time, though.”
Nodding, you relaxed back in the seat.  “Yeah, gonna take some doing.”
Tumblr media
Handing the soup bowl to Crosshair, he sulked...and refused to eat...again.
“You NEED to eat.”
He sneered.
“Don’t make me regret getting you out of that facility.”
Cross sighed heavily and took the bowl.  He STILL wasn't eating, just staring into it.  This man was driving you insane...if you didn’t kill him first.
“It’s actually pretty good for a ration packet.  Provided you eat it while still warm.”
“Why are you bothering?”
ON YOUR LAST NERVE.
“Why did YOU bother pushing us into hyperspace...if you want to suffer and die so badly?”
Silence.
Suddenly you had the urge to slap the damned bowl out of his hand.  “REALLY???  Let your skinny ass STARVE!  Ungrateful son-of-a...kriffing...GAH!  FUCK!!!”
Your sudden anger sparked something.
Crosshair slowly smirked.
“Knock it off and DRINK YOUR FUCKING SOUP!”  Getting up, stalking off, mumbling angrily to yourself...hoping the tiny food galley didn’t have any knives.
Tumblr media
Checking up later, you found the bowl empty.  Cross slumped in the chair; eyes closed.
To anyone else, it would look like he was napping.  You knew better.
You picked up the bowl to take it back to the galley.
“My compliments to the chef.”
You rolled your eyes.
“I meant it.”
“Whatever.”
Cross opened his eyes, aiming for an argument.  “It’s a compliment.  Take it or leave it.”
“I don’t trust you.”
An unexpectedly hurt expression flickered across his face.  “This isn’t about the soup, is it?”
“No genius.  I was warned you’re a constant shit stirrer.”
“Well, Hunter was never my biggest fan.”
“It wasn’t Hunter.”
This seemed to surprise Crosshair.
“Echo...he’s a bit of a shit stirrer himself.  Takes one to know one.”
Cross raised an eyebrow.
“Oh...and Wrecker thinks you take yourself too seriously.  I think his actual words were...he needs to unclench his butt cheeks.”
Raised the other eyebrow.
“But Wrecker was incorrect.”
“Oh?”
“As far as I can tell, you DON’T have an ass.”
Crosshair leaned forward, slight smirk around the edges of his mouth.
“Been looking...have you?”
“I think most people would say you’re just a torso with legs...Toothpick.”
He genuinely smiled at the new nickname.
“More soup?”
“Yes more, Soup.”
Tumblr media
Nights were difficult and Crosshair struggled to sleep through. Awakening to hear him working through a nightmare. Sometimes he would mutter, groan, and thrash about, eventually snoring again. This happened several times a night. Other times he would awaken, panting and sweating, trying to remember he was no longer imprisoned on Mt Tantiss.
At first, he turned down your attempts to soothe him. That didn’t last long. It became a habit of you sitting next to his bunk on the metal floor, talking him through it. Eventually, you just crawled into bed and laid there next to him. It was certainly more comfortable than that damned hard floor.
Crosshair’s breathing settled into a regular rhythm. Stars, it was warm and cozy in this bunk. The idea of walking across that cold decking to your own bunk just seemed depressing. Five more minutes and you’d get up.
That didn’t happen. Two minutes in and you passed out cold.
Tumblr media
youtube
(You like a song to go with the scene? Please check out this song. It "literally" FUCKS!!!)
"Mmhmmm...”
The deep bass of Hunter’s groan making you wetter as his hard cock slid in and out of you.
“Ohh...fuu...mmm...” Words were difficult when he kissed your neck like this. Whispering sweet things in your ear while gently fucking your brains out.
Laying on your sides, facing each other. One leg thrown over his hips, both of your hands deep in his curls. Grasping them with ferocity. The pain brought him pleasure...
Hunter slid his hand down your back to firmly grip your buttocks and picked up the rhythm of his thrusts.
“Kriff...can’t wait to do this...with you...in our home...all...the...fucking...time...” The last four words he spoke with each luscious stroke of his member.
“Huuunter...” Your eyes rolled back into your head.
“Got...a nice...little planet...just...for us...”
Heat and intensity rising in you.
“You...want...that...too...?”
...sliding in...
You gasp...” Yes...”
“Yeah?” Cajoling you with that sexy fucking voice.
...sliding out...
“YES...”
...sliding in...
“Tell me, Mesh’la.” He’s shuddering.
Your back arches “YES!!!”
Hunter reaches out and caresses your face...
...and you awake with a start. Crosshair had an expression like he’d been caught with his hand in the cookie jar. Pulling back his hand suddenly.
“Wu-what???” He stammered.
Trying to shake off your sleepy arousal...slurring. “Did...YOU jus’ touch...Mah face?”
“WHY are YOU still in my bunk?”
The dream-feeling melting away...your brain having to process the waking world...
“...because...your nightmares... I’m the dumbass...who makes sure you sleep.”
Silence. Crosshair studying your face.
“You’re welcome.”
“Well, I’m NOT having one NOW.”
“Ships cold during the night. Ain’t going nowhere.” You rolled over, giving him your back. Maybe...you could pick that dream back up?
“Fine. You can stay if YOU stop moaning Hunter’s name when you spoon ME!”
You rolled back over shocked.
“Yes, you did.”
“What else did I say...or do?”
Crosshair grinned like he knew too much and rolled over without answering.
Tumblr media
Weeks passed as you and Crosshair bickered your way slowly through the galaxy.  The Empire tamped down tightly on most of the planets in the system.  The Outer Rim while wildly dangerous, seemed mostly untouched and safest.
You both did side jobs to keep yourselves fed while trying comm channels and leaving messages with close contacts about the rest of The Batch’s whereabouts.
Everything seemed to lead to a dead end.  Like they just disappeared.
In your heart of hearts, you knew Hunter would NEVER stop looking for you both...even if Cross had his doubts.
Tumblr media
The open-air market on some back water Outer Rim moon provided a distraction. The textile stand caught your eye. Beautiful scarves...you picked up a jet black one with fine silver metallic strands running through it.
"Good choice. It compliments your hair." The elderly shop keep stepped from behind a long quilt hanging behind the counter.
"Marv! Are you flirting again?" An older woman approached clearly teasing her husband.
"Now why would I do that when I have you, my sweet Meiloorun? Besides, here's their partner now."
Cross sauntered up to the counter, amused at the comment.
"Hello honey" He teased.
You rolled your eyes, ignoring his "greeting." "Toothpick, what do you think of this scarf?"
"Hmm, not really my style." Cross reached down to pull another scarf from under the pile. "Now this one..."
It was rusty red with fine intermittent broken off-white stripes dispersed through it. Crosshair draped it around his neck. "What do you think?"
The blood drained from your face.
"No..." You dropped the scarf and hurried away from the stand.
Tumblr media
Cross caught up to you a few moments later...still wearing that damned scarf.
“Soup!”
You kept walking, angry...and hurt.
"Care to explain?"
Stopping and grabbing the fabric in your fist. "That's HIS scarf...NOT YOURS!
Cross softened. Not a trace of snark on his face. "You WERE in love with Hunter."
"We are STILL in a relationship, Crosshair! Just because Hunter and I are apart doesn't mean that ended."
Crosshair stared into your eyes with such an intensity...it was difficult to keep eye contact.
"So...I complicate those feelings." It wasn't a question. He didn't need to ask.
You noticed his eyes changed from brown to grey in this perfect light. The light of the sun starting to set on this backwater moon. Almost the same color as his brother's eyes.
You sighed deeply, letting go of the scarf. Your hand dropping to rest, open palmed on Crosshair's chest.
He stepped closer, placing his warm hand over yours.
“We’ll find them.”
“How? We’ve been looking...”
He squeezed your hand. “Marv and Mel...they’re a front for The Rebellion. Gathering intel and recruiting volunteers to fight the Empire.”
You looked up at Crosshair with renewed hope.
“They know where we can find Rex. He’ll be able to help us.”
You nodded. So many thoughts going through your head.
Cross took the scarf off and slid it over your head, to rest around your shoulders.
“C’mon Soup, there’s a place around here with those Space Cakes you like. My treat.”
He led the way hugging you closely.

Oh cool, so Omega suddenly remembers there were other captives on that fucking mountain only after she and her personal favorite escape. It's way too fucking late for that, babe, sorry.
Like it's VERY hard to believe she cares when she never once spoke to any of them even though she walked by all of them EVERY DAY to go speak to fucking Crosshair instead and when her first reaction to Rex was "I thought we didn't like regs." They showed her bonding to the DOGS instead of the actual CLONES. That shows where those clones rated on Omega's list to me.
Even if the idea was supposed to be "They couldn't have all escaped, so it was better to leave and bring back a bigger force to help get the others out" then you could make a solid argument that she should've and could've just left Crosshair behind and gotten out herself. She wastes precious time and resources going to get Crosshair out, it's far more suspicious for her to get Crosshair out because he's literally in a prison while she has the ability to walk around freely and won't have people asking questions when she shows up somewhere the way Crosshair would. And going by this episode, she clearly doesn't really need Crosshair's help to escape and find Hunter and Wrecker at all.
The other reason that that argument wouldn't work for me is that we never see Omega ever express that to anybody. She never expresses any care about the other clones until she's already escaped, she only expresses care for Crosshair, the dogs, and Emerie. She never speaks to the other clones, she never goes up to them to try to bond with them, she doesn't say anything to the prisoners she's leaving behind to explain she won't be able to bring anyone else with her but that she promises she'll come back to get them all out with more help.
It almost would've made more sense for that kind of sentiment to come from CROSSHAIR, at least it would've demonstrated more growth for him. He had an entire episode last season where he grew to care for one of the regs, despite all of his prejudice against them, and that's what got him sent to Tantiss in the first place. It would've been SO NICE to have Crosshair refuse to leave without the rest of them because NONE OF THEM deserve to be left behind, and if Omega wants to escape, then fine, she can go, but he won't leave with her if it means the others have to stay on Tantiss.
This could've been a way to sort-of showcase the way Crosshair has developed while away from the rest of the Batch. Hunter and Wrecker and Tech don't spend time with other real clones and have expressed a distinct lack of understanding about why Echo even CARES about trying to save the clones. They left and have been on their own since Order 66, relying on friendships with other people to get them through. But Crosshair stayed behind, Crosshair has been spending a lot more time around the chipped clones, Crosshair has been getting a front row seat to what's happening to the clones under the Jedi, Crosshair is the one who bonded with Cody and then Mayday and saw what was done to both of them. Crosshair betrayed the Batch when he stayed behind, he was disloyal, but it allowed him to see the real clones in a way he never had before, to find a way to connect to them a way he never could before, and so now he refuses to just abandon the other captives on Tantiss the way he abandoned the Batch. The Batch made friends among regular civilians and war refugees, but Crosshair learned what it meant to be part of the actual clone community, what it's always meant to be considered one of many. Crosshair could've taught Omega about that bond, he could've been the one to be the bridge between her and the clones she's been so distant from.
Instead, they just have Crosshair abandon them with Omega and it's OMEGA trying to insist they go back later to save them and Crosshair doesn't care about them any more than he has before and is happy to just leave them all behind to die.

So I’ve seen all current episodes of Bad Batch S3 and I will post about it but I wanna talk specifically about the reunion scene.
Hunter and Wrecker shouldn’t have looked at Crosshair like that. Yes-I know there is history. I actually wasn’t expecting hugs/tears either, just genuine shock and nothing more.
I’ve heard people say Hunter and Wrecker are justified in their reaction, but to me, it seems like sloppy writing.
We know Hunter and Wrecker don’t know what Cross has been through. We know that the group knows about the chip removal (Cross says he had his chip removed). Crosshair killed the rest of his new squad and saved Omega, not to mention that Hunter told Crosshair that they might want different things but that doesn’t make them enemies and that they never were enemies—all in S1. And, in S2 Tech tells the group that he found a coded transmission from Crosshair and Wrecker even asks if Crosshair has turned on the Empire.
The last time Hunter and Crosshair saw each other, they left amicably/mutually. Crosshair chose not to go with them, despite Hunter’s offer. Even Wrecker told Crosshair that they still would’ve taken him back. S1 made it so that it was up to Crosshair to come back or not. In S2, Crosshair hardly got any screen time. We first see him in S2 is with Cody on a mission not even related to the Batch. The 2nd time is during his mission with Mayday and after killing Nolan is taken to Tantiss. The last time we see him is warning the group but he gets caught by Hemlock. We do see him once more but he’s unconscious on a table as Omega arrives by the S2 finale. Crosshair didn’t do shit to CF99 during S2 and even gave them cause to think he is defecting by S2.
So after all that, it’s a little odd to see Hunter and Wrecker look at Crosshair with such anger that would’ve made sense mid S1 but not when Hunter literally told Crosshair
‘We want different things Crosshair. That doesn’t mean we have to be enemies’ —Hunter 1x16 (around the 23min mark)

Well those were some remarkably accurate predictions!
SPOILERS INCOMING! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
Tantiss did get blown to bits. Everyone did escape. (Because they had to they hadn’t had a big win in more than an entire season to justify it!) And they DID make it an hour long episode! I was so relieved the second I saw the runtime.
But WOW were a lot of things a surprise. Nala Se doing what she did I feel like I should have seen coming. It was a fantastic character arc conclusion for her, especially that line about Kamino. Rampart being there I didn’t see coming, but also a very well earned conclusion for his character (if you’ll take my meaning).
Omega! Honestly the only predictable character on screen at this point. Except perhaps Echo. Of course she released the Zillo beast-that was set up really nicely. Everyone immediately knowing it was her was delightful and probably the only time I remember laughing all episode because boy was it heavy from there.
The Batch themselves and what happened to them were a huge shock all episode. Crosshair finally voicing what I’d known since S1 and became blindingly obvious post S2 was a fantastic moment. I’m so glad it got said out loud, and I’m so glad it was him that said it. They haven’t been Clone Force 99 since the end of S1 E1 and the loss of Crosshair to the Empire. Their success rate on missions has consistently dropped since then, even more so since the loss of Tech. They were a unit, and they’re missing pieces. They’ve never been whole since the fall of the republic, and then had to operate in a galaxy they weren’t trained for. They’re not the same anymore-they needed to own that.
The three heavy duty action scenes the batch were involved in were all callbacks to previous scenes. The hangar stand off-against what are essentially operatives designed to combat them specifically-is a call back to the first appearance of imperial cross. Crosshair sees the operatives and knows they can’t win. He’s unfortunately right. And wow I did not see Crosshair losing his shaking hand coming at all. I understand practically why the writers did it, and I know I’ll be thinking long and hard about it, but I literally screamed out loud when it happened.
I think all of the batch finally understanding and experiencing what Crosshair lived through was important. The batch met their match in Hemlock. Crosshair was never really an enemy in S1, and Rampart was too stupid. To Tarkin, they were a fly in the ointment of the bigger picture. It was nothing personal. He’s Echo and Rex and the rebellions problem-not theirs. But Hemlock? The experimental scientist who wants to own what they hold most dear. Yeah. They needed to really know him. I knew when Wrecker got injured last episode that if they won it would be by the skin of their teeth-and I don’t think a single character bar omega got out unscathed.
The batch’s rescue is perfect. Regs volunteering and going to rescue the defective clones? This really is a new galaxy. We’ve moved on from Cross and “he’s just another reg”. And it’s Omega and Echo returning the favour. The Batch have gone into a research facility to rescue their own and gotten captured for their trouble twice now. (Not including Echos rescue in clone wars-where they avoid capture but get a tad stuck). This was the third attempt in TBB. Still got captured. But it’s Echo and Omega together who get to rescue the people who got them out of their similarly horrible situations. The parallels abound and I loved it!
And that last confrontation. The rain? The shape of the buildings? That exposed platform? This was Kamino all over again. Except this time, however injured, however changed they are, Hunter and Crosshair are together. For Omega. They’ve both failed to stop her being taken by Hemlock before-they’ve both watched a ship fly away with her on board. This is another third attempt. They both get their do over. Except this time they’ve learned to trust eachother, and they’ve been forced to adapt. The clone’s humanity has always been their strength-and this is one of the most perfectly written, perfectly animated scenes in the series. I knew Cross was going to have to make a shot he didn’t want to take. And I knew he’d do it. But Omega telling him what to do, telling him she trusted him not to hurt her, broke me. It was all leading up to this. And that she hugged Cross first. I was crying before this scene. I will have to rewatch and hope I can actually see next time I was sobbing!
And Hemlock got his slightly gruesome end. Thank the FORCE.
And Pabu at the end. You can feel their disbelief that the trauma is over. That they can have peace. And the epilogue is perfect. I wish we’d got to see older cross and wrecker too-but their character arcs were already handled earlier. This is Hunters scene-it was always going to have to be. For him to truly be at peace, he has to feel OK watching her fly away. He’s spent three seasons clinging on-how he’s happy to let go. And Omega gets her choice. That precious thing all the clones are chasing. She got to have a childhood, grow up, and choose.
I’m so hopeful that Omega at least will reappear-especially if she’s hoping to join the rebellion! Maybe she’ll meet Hera again-that would be amazing. (I’m nothing if not a rebels fan)
I know Bad Batch is a series I’ll be coming back to again and again to rewatch, and I know I’ll see new things in it each and every time, but for now-Thank you Clone Force 99. You’ll always be our ‘dad batch’ of deviants. It was a wonderful wild ride.

The Bad Batch Season 3 - A New Theory and the future for Tech
Spoilers ahead!
Hey you guys! So I've previously discussed how I believe that the operative character could be Tech and how that affirms my winter soldier theory. However, I am here to retract that statement as I do not believe that it makes sense narratively, as it would either copy Crosshair's story or Echo's story. I propose a new theory: the operative is not Tech, but rather Cody. Let me explain why.
Firstly, we now know (via Crosshair's confirmation) that the program Hemlock is running does not work on defective clones, as they attempted and failed to integrate Cross into said program. This would rule out Tech as he was also a defective clone.
Secondly, and more prevalently, we know (from Rebels) that some event needs to push Rex over the edge and make him quit his efforts of saving other clones. I suspect that this event could be an encounter with a brainwashed Cody, and perhaps a botched operation to Tantiss resulting in a lot of casualties.
Thirdly, why do I think it's Cody? While it's true that we were told in season two how he went "awol" (albeit by an unreliable source), that doesn't necessarily mean he escaped, it just means that he defied the Empire. We also know that this operative program is designed to repurpose defiant clones. I also want to point out how the operatives voice, while warped through a modulator, sounded like a reg, instead of a higher pitched, vaguely English accent.
Lastly, Tech has been mentioned only once in this season, briefly in conversation. Yes, Cody isn't mentioned at all but I'll get to that. The end of season two, in my opinion, felt like a lazy write off of Tech's character (in an attempt to elicit reactions from fans), that essentially served as a "wrap up" of his story (more on this in a moment). Cody's story is still a loose end though. It's also important to mention that in the EU, Cody was used as the template for the dark troopers.
Now onto the discussion of where this leaves Tech. Well...I think he's dead for good. Trust me when I say that deeply hurts me beyond words. I have related to and deeply bonded with Tech's character, so to me, his death was very real and painful, and I'm honestly still having a hard time with it (I was literally sobbing about it the other day). Unfortunately, I just do not believe that the writers of this show are capable of what the writers of Lucasfilm era Clone Wars were capable of (please dkm, this is just my personal opinion). I'm sorry but I just don't have faith in Disney, not after the sequels and most (if not all) of the live action shows they've put out. Yes, Tech should, logically, 100% be alive...if they were good writers. He has a potential love interest, a family and a potential peaceful life to live on Pabuu to return to. There are so many plot holes that would remain unanswered, and would be extremely disappointing. Tech's story is largely unfinished. Should he be dead for good, it will show the utter lack of writing talent that Disney possesses and a lack of care or respect for fans.
Apologies for the spicy takes at the end. Again these are just my personal opinions and experiences. No hate to anyone who enjoys any of those shows/movies.

I'm very emotional about the finale so let's talk abt the clones real quick ehem
One thing watching the bad batch has shown me is the selfless love the clones had. It's literally painted all over the whole show but i wanna highlight a few things in the finale:
The clones in Tantiss decided to stay and help Omega and Echo without a second of a doubt, even though freedom is right there- they could run for their lives but they didn't. Bro, these clones had gone through hell and back, but the second one of their brothers needs them, they didn't give a crap about that or the risk.
When Crosshair offered to break into Tantiss alone, Wrecker and Hunter could have accepted that and waited but no. If they were gonna survive together, then they were gonna survive together. If they were gonna die together, they were gonna die together.
In all the ways i wish tech was alive, his sacrifice meant that much more with him being actually dead. Yeah, we didn't get that reunion (sobs), that satisfaction of having the batch back together, but we did get the fruit of Tech's love for his brothers and sister. He literally died for them.
The clones' love for each other was selfless. If they could give a chance for one of them to survive then they would give it - no matter the cost. I admire that.

I'm worried for Crosshair
Specifically, why are they waiting so long to address what happened to him? I wonder what kind of emotional payoff this will have as the finale draws near.
Spoilers below
Ok, so the Batch are officially on their way to Mt. Tantiss and about to rescue Omega from the clutches of the evil man with a bad haircut. We are literally two episodes away from the finale and Crosshair still hasn't told us what happened yet. It makes me wonder how he'll react when he gets back to Tantiss. His hand will act up no doubt.
But he's basically repressed everything. He masks his worries so well and brushes it off whenever someone asks. I speak from experience with anxiety. Eventually, it all comes out. You can hold it in and even push it aside because something comes along to take your mind off it, but you have to face the feelings at some point. He's opened up a bit to his family, but he hasn't revealed the full story yet.
Could Crosshair have a full on panic attack on Tantiss? What if the Batch accidentally wanders into the room where the conditioning happened? Or will he be cool as a cucumber because his beloved sister needs him? If they've waited this long to tell us what exactly happens during conditioning, then it's probably gonna be really emotional.
I could see a final CX-2 showdown where Crosshair faces his trauma once and for all. CX-2, I'm 99% sure, is strictly meant to be Cross' narrative foil and that's it. No identity. No surprise reveal. No shock value. Just the physical representation of what Crosshair escaped.
Why do you think they've waited this long?

Thoughts on The Bad Batch Episode 14 - Flash Strike - A Discussion Post
This episode had my heart racing and I still cannot grasp the fact that this is the second-to-last episode. Let's return to the pre-finale filled with surprising and heart-racing moments!
(SPOILERS AHEAD IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE EPISODE YET! all screencaps from www.cap-that.com! https://www.cap-that.com/starwars/the-bad-batch/314/?page=1)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The boys and Rampart keep their shuttle attached to the Imperial ship that is on its way to Mount Tantiss, and the ship that Echo is currently inside of. Hunter plans to detach the ship and head into Tantiss, and they know that Echo will find a way off the ship safely.
It's so funny how Rampart has just been dragged into this mess and is on his way to Tantiss as well, as he likely never expected to get into this much chaos after the Batch got him out of that Imperial prison. He's probably preferring the prison now instead of going to Tantiss.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hemlock enters the control room, inquiring about the status of the ship coming here. Scorch gives him word that the Batch had infiltrated the station on Coruscant with Rampart, and that certainly changes things. Hemlock orders fighters to launch into the airspace, preparing for the attack.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The ship exits out of hyperspace to enter Wayland (Weyland? It's spelled differently in Canon and Legends on Wookiepedia, and on the Star Wars website they spell it as Wayland), the planet where Mount Tantiss is located. Hunter and Crosshair pilot the ship in the front, detaching from the vessel and fighting the fighters that were sent out to attack them. The laser cannons attached to Tantiss start to attack them as well as Hunter pilots and tries to avoid the cannon shots.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The rumbling caused by the laser cannons are felt on Tantiss, and it was so cute how their little flat block structures broke because of the rumbling and Baryn (being the little playful baby he is) knocks over his structure and laughs. Omega feels the vibrations on the table and can tell that it is laser cannons. Emerie gets word that there is a security alert and she tells Scalder to watch the kids, which Scalder basically rolls her eyes at and says that they will be fine.
Omega knew that her brothers have come for her, and that just melted my heart.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The ship gets shot, and the boys and Rampart have to quickly get out before they crash land. Wrecker gets the cables out, and Crosshair and Wrecker go first, hanging off the ship, and they literally had me hanging on my seat in fear if any of them fell. Hunter jumped with Rampart (by jumped, I mean jumped and dragged him down to get him out because he wouldn't jump). Rampart's screams were everything this episode; shout out to Noshir Dalal for voicing him so greatly.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hemlock sends out troops to find them, while the boys hide out in the jungle. It was hilarious how Hunter said "Unfortunately, yes" when Rampart survived, and Rampart heard him. For a second I really thought he didn't survive until Hunter said yes. The boys continue to head towards Tantiss, trying their best to be unseen.
I cried when Crosshair's hand started shaking again, he's so nervous to be back here.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Echo disguises himself in stormtrooper armor and steals a droid's hand, and I was so happy that he finally got a robotic hand. All the theories about Echo wearing white armor just like Fives was before he died in his arc in The Clone Wars is freaking me out, I really hope it doesn't come to that in the finale.
Tumblr media
Eva wonders why their vitals haven't been taken yet today as usual, and Omega decides to go into the walls of Tantiss and figure out what is going on (she is literally living in the walls of Tantiss and Hemlock's walls, it's so funny). She tells the kids to cover her, who all have no idea what that means.
Tumblr media
While venturing through the jungle, Rampart talks with Crosshair, comparing how he saw him in the Empire versus now with his brothers. Crosshair says that Rampart is like him after the Empire had betrayed them both and that he has changed, and Rampart suspects if he really has. He's really scaring me with how that line was delivered, but I'm just hoping that it means nothing and everything's fine.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Omega carefully goes through the walls of Tantiss, trying to find out what is going on and any routes of escape. The boys and Rampart continue to navigate themselves through the jungle, while Rampart grows tired and lays near what he thinks is probably a rock. He rests near a large beast, as it awakens and Rampart starts freaking out, running away. The boys try to fight it without blasters, but eventually the blasters are used and their position is given away.
Rampart gets caught by the Imperials while running away, as he will likely be taken to Hemlock for questioning. I'm so worried that he will betray the Batch.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The kids try to come up with ways to keep Omega from being caught, as Baryn drifts off to sleep. Dr. Scalder comes down to take the kids' vitals with the usual droid, while Omega is missing. Sami tries to stall Dr. Scalder by telling her that she is still hungry, and Scalder replies, "It will pass." She was really willing to let the kids starve and didn't care; her and Hemlock are at the top of the list as the worst doctors on Tantiss. Jax asks if he can go next, but Scalder becomes frustrated with the kids, going in order and doing her job.
Luckily Omega managed to get back in time, acting like nothing happened.
Tumblr media
While in the walls, Omega passes a room that holds a contained Zillo beast, likely the same one that the Batch had seen before. I'm so happy the theories about the ZIllo Beast being in Mount Tantiss's basement came true, and if the prayers about it eating Hemlock come true that would just be funny. I'm so ready for Omega to let it free and allow it to cause chaos on that mountain with the Batch watching.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Echo gets in the room where the blood samples are tested, and views all the files of every clone on Tantiss, even Omega's. Emerie comes in and sees him in his trooper disguise, and Echo tries to lie his way out (and of course, we know that clones are unable to lie). Emerie manages to recognize Echo from what Omega has told her about him, and Echo gets to meet the Emerie his sister has always talked about. Echo gets upset with Emerie since she is playing a part in all of this, and Emerie says that she was just doing her job. I feel so bad for her and all the lies she's grown up with while likely growing up under Hemlock, but she's starting to wake up. Emerie tells Echo about the other children on Tantiss, and they plan to get them out. I'm so excited to see their dynamic next week.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Omega regroups with the kids, and the kids are happy to see that she is fine. The kids ask her if she found something, and Omega says that she found something big and is ready to get them out with a plan. She looks so ready, I'm so ready for my little girl to cause havoc on that mountain and make every doctor on Tantiss go insane.
I can't believe we're reaching the finale now, and I'll only have one more discussion to write. I'm so excited and greatly nervous for the finale, and I am so sad that this show is coming to an end soon. I'm hoping we can see CX-2 again, where did he go and please reveal your face! Still praying the finale is over an hour...

TBB S3 EP13 “INTO THE BREACH” THOUGHTS & FEELINGS!! (spoilers below :))
• okay Omega just totally jumping into it and hatching a plan to not only escape by herself but the break all of the little force-sensitive kids out too was so badass, she takes after her brothers so much 😭😭😭
• I think Emerie is definitely working up to trying to get Omega and the kids out of Tantiss. Maybe we will see her finally break from the Empire next episode
• ECHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! RETURN OF THE KING THE WAY I HOLLERED WHEN HE SHOWED UP 😂😭 like finally our boy is back 😮‍💨
• the blacked out armor scene was so gooooooood. The music, the lighting, Hunter looking for a long moment at his helmet. That whole scene was 👨‍🍳💋
• All of Echo’s one liners were so good omg like he really showed up and served sass
• Crosshair shoving Rampart around was so fucking funny. Like he really hates him and isn’t afraid to show it lmaoooo
• the boys are really not holding anything back and I love to see it. they really will stop at nothing and go to any and all measures to get Omega back. If they don’t get reunited ALL TOGETHER I’m going to go insane. I fr can’t handle any more heartbreak from my copy paste pixel men.
• Wrecker just straight up vibing on his data pad with his feet up was so freaking cute. And when he had that imperial officer’s hat on his head omg 😭😂 He really doesn’t get enough love guys. Where the Wrecker girlies at fr.
• Echo was so badass this episode I will not shut about this for the rest of the week
• the last few minutes had me on the edge of my seat omg. AND THE UNWAVERING TRUST THAT THE BOYS HAD IN ECHO WAS SO AHHHHHH like they all fucking knew he was going to pull through for them. Literally that whole sequence was so nerve wracking and Hunter’s resolve when he said “Negative” I—
•No CX-2 this episode 🫠 are they really just going to leave Tech’s story so unfinished like that? I can’t deal with that if that’s how the show ends guys.
• Next episode is probably going to be so high stakes and fast paced like I will be screaming crying and throwing up, especially if something happens to any of the boys or Omega at this point.
•lastly

Okay separate from 'who is Clone X' let me make an explicit list of reasons I think it's not Tech.
This is NOT to say I think Tech isn't alive. He definitely is IMO. Just not as Clone X.
So. Problems that arise if this Clone X is Tech, and would require some sort of explanation or at a minimum handwave:
Why is Pabu still standing? The moment Omega and Crosshair get away, a Clone X Tech would be activated so Hemlock can ask where they're going. Full stop. It's been way too long and that hasn't happened. An argument here could be he has amnesia. This works to explain not knowing where Pabu is, but now we're to, why was this Clone X not activated when Omega and Cross escaped? He was only activated once the other one was lost. That seems like a huge oversight. An added meta-issue here is so now we have a Clone X Tech who ALSO has amnesia. That's pretty convoluted and honestly I don't see how that gets dealt with alongside our other awaiting plot threads in the remaining episodes.
Why didn't Crosshair know? There's literally NO way Cross wouldn't have told Hunter, Wrecker, and Echo that Tech had been indoctrinated and needed rescuing, that would have been the first thing out of his mouth. He clearly doesn't do that. Possible explanation: Cross doesn't know. But these guys are clearly trained in cohorts and groups, we see Cross being rotated through with them frequently. So if Tech is a Clone X he has to have been trained completely separate from Cross. This seems odd because now two separate Clone Xs have known who Crosshair was the moment they laid eyes on him. It also adds another convoluting layer to the above: Tech has amnesia, and had to be indoctrinated fully separately from Crosshair with a totally different group or groups. Certainly Tantiss seems large enough for this but we're getting to a lot of folding layers to make this fit.
Why did Cross not break while Tech did? Crosshair talks about Clone Xs like they have a 'choice', but ofc that choice can easily be 'convert or suffer eternally'. Certainly that was implied by Cross' no good very bad time. This indicates Cross didn't break and Tech did. The man who hobbled around on a busted femur and shot out a connecting hinge without hesitation nor a waver in his hand and had the nerve necessary to race against droids. Cross says he thinks his resilience is because he's defective. He could be wrong about that, but if he's not, okay then once again, why Tech and not Cross? We could go with, well maybe Tech was badly injured and had serious trauma. Okay so NOW, he has amnesia (to explain why Pabu is still intact) and a traumatic injury, which makes him susceptible to indoctrination. Once again, that's a lot of shaving to fit this square peg into the round hole.
How did Wrecker, Hunter, and Crosshair all fight him not realize it was Tech? These guys grew up together, trained together, fought in the war together, and Hunter and Wrecker have been with Tech since then as well. How would they not recognize Tech in a fight? If we want to claim his style has changed, that runs counter to the Clone X's per Cross' description--they're not mindwiped, their memories aren't gone, their personalities aren't gone, they're just indoctrinated. Their personalities are still there, they've just been distilled into True Belief. Tech would ultimately still have Techlike tendencies, yet showed almost none of them. For example:
This guy is athletic as hell and never slips. If you go back over S1 and S2, Tech is slipping on solid unmoving surfaces all, the, time. It's an amazing bit they do for him. This guy? None of that.
I'm only slightly joking when I say, he does not one single completely unnecessary roll or flip. Tech did those all the time. He was born to be extra.
He tries fruitlessly to use his suit controls for his ship, never once makes an attempt to fix them.
Why was the throwdown with Crosshair and this guy so very personal if it's Tech and Crosshair doesn't know, having never met him? The Clone X is busy echoing Crosshair's own words to Hunter from S1 right back in his face during their brutal fight. Chances, choices, etc.; it's the same things Crosshair said once upon a time in an uglier life. This guy is a Shadow!Crosshair, in effect, which really does NOT work as a plot point if he's actually Tech (because per above, Tech would have to have all agency and choice stripped away to become this--he really, really would). This fight is personal; this person watched Cross go through the program and refuse it. This isn't someone who 'heard about' Cross denying them. Crosshair would then know this is Tech.
It is possible they can somehow explain all of this, I just don't see that happening without it turning into some sort of marlinspike-worthy twisting of the rope to work in amnesia and succumbing when Cross didn't and Cross not knowing AND Hunter and Wrecker not recognizing his fighting style. That's a lot.
Separate item:
What if it's Tech and Cross feels guilty and isn't telling anyone?
My main reason for thinking this doesn't work is that when Howzer stunned the Clone X off Cross and over a waterfall Cross failed to react about it in any way. I just do NOT think that would have happened if it was Tech and he knew. He'd have wanted to capture him at all costs and hope for SOME kind of solution, any kind.
Instead it's 'let's get the fuck out of here after we talk to Wolffe who is being a himbo about things'. Not a single thought to that guy.
I personally suspect Clone X is either a Named (Dogma, Slick, Cody, whatever) or, a random reg that Cross went through indoctrination with. They both tried to hold out, desperately. They were both about to slip. This other clone did; Cross was thinking of giving in ('I belong in here'), when Omega announces they're escaping. She saves him from that fate.
