mommm white people on tumblr are misconstruing my posts again despite the post being entirely about how important wording is + how i don’t feel comfortable posting large statements when i haven’t fully processed them yet.

it is mind-boggling that the first thing people do after seeing a horrible antisemitic attack, or the firebombing of a synagogue, or a mob going after a jewish teacher, or the assault of a jewish student, is to go out and make a statement condemning "islamophobia and antisemitism and other forms of hate" in that order.

Learning that Dan and Phil knew about all of the phandom lore and jokes is like learning Santa isn’t real. Looking back, it’s obvious and makes a lot more sense, but where’s the magic?

#it’s almost as if them entering fame in their 20s in an area that was completely unexplored with severe mental health issues #specially trauma surroundings sexuality only to have sexuality be a large part of their online persona #while also knowing there was no going back they had no backup plan or extra money #using their luck of being deeply entrenched in internet culture from when it first started to be able to be literate enough in internet #culture to be able to adapt to what an audience wanted without it specifically being stated #and trying desperately to balance trauma surrounding sexuality and sexuality being a large part of branding but it was part of the branding #in a way that it had to be aloof #causing probably an immense amount of mental strain with zero guidance relying purely on instinct from what they learned and kind of making #it up as they go #made them really purposeful with probably every single post especially the first five ish years when it wasn’t stable and acting like they #didn’t know was part of the personality they needed to craft to adapt to what the audience wanted despite that being integral to their job #I kind of forgot where I was going with this #basically who would’ve thought a job in completely uncharted territory with no backup plan and based purely on public perception would mean #them being constantly up to date with what their fans thought #rae’s rambles #dan and phil

I'm not super involved in the Nicktoons Unite fandom, but I have been combing through fics and I'm already tried of Danny being portrayed as the big brother/second smartest one instead of what he actually is: a fucking idiot.
