i had a gut feeling that yin vaisra would turn out to be evil. but I thought he’d get a sexy evil reveal. not a ‘handing over his country to be colonized by the hesperians just to hold a shred of power even tho it’s not even any real power bc he’s become just a puppet for them’ evil reveal. fuck you old man you’ve disappointed me

how’s life feeling like recently? what book are you reading as of now?
oops 14th april this is a little late sorry :(
life has been ehh okay. school started again so responsibility and work and pressure agh not fun but it's not too bad... yet.

i'm currently reading caraval (i think i told u this ?). i'm 2/3 done with the trilogy.
then i'm planning to read king of scars and rule of wolves by leigh bardugo (i love bardugo sm) (ive been putting this off for soo long bc i keep forgetting to buy king of scars. i bought rule of wolves TWO years ago bc it was on sale for cheap but never got around to purchasing king of scars- which is the first book)
then i'm gonna watch and read game of thrones (dont judge me for not having read it yet. sigh.)
i also really wanna read realm breaker so im on the lookout for that :)
oh also i'm gonna start reading twelfth night for lit class. might use that as an excuse to finally read shakespeare (ive been wanting to read hamlet for so long but i admit im a little intimidated by his style of writing)
oh and also also i plan to read all of jane austen's work since i have the complete collection
ahsvsj i just realised thats alot of books i plan to read. oh well

he loves her. of this he’s certain. he loves her laugh; that sharp, sudden sound; the cynical laugh that always comes too quick, like it’s ripped out of her. he loves her quick, confident grin. he loves her resilience, her bravery, even her impulsiveness. she’s everything he’s not: unbound, reckless, free. he’s never known anyone like her. she terrifies him, and he loves her so much it hurts.

you know, as someone who is also eAsian, one thing i really appreciated about R.F. Kuang writing Rin was how indigestible she was. every white person who reads The Poppy War will be forced to come to terms with her character and see how deeply flawed and angry she is, and how truly terrible (morally and logically) some of her actions are
