Congrats on another great chapter of Ship Happens. I also really loved iDSTC... and I actually just heard a song about a FWB situation called Slip by Nicotine Dolls that I thought fit that song so well... it literally feels like it written for them
"Stop playing blind, we trip every time, throw away all those badly written lines like it’s all a mistake, I’m on my way but I won't spend the night (yeah right)"
"Will you hold me til the rooms fills up with consequences that kill like a drug we say we’ll try just to get high on what feels good"
"What if it all goes wrong? What if I fall in love with you and... if we slip then into your arms I’ll fall and kick this habit that harms all. All of the missed nights in your bedroom where we played pretend who’s the one to kill the light"
Go listen to it for reeaaal.
Anon, you bloody made my day, thank you so so so so so SOOOOOOO much for reaching out!! And yes, you're so right! I just listened to the song and In my head I was seeing everything play out like a movie between them and the lyrics were just perfect. If someone could turn IDSTC into a movie, this would be the song that was playing as it like did a montage of their moments.
Especially these lyrics.
"What if it all goes wrong?
What if i fall in love with you and
If we slip into your arms
I’ll fall and kick this habit that harms all
All of the missed the nights in your bedroom,
Where we played pretend
Who’s the one to kill the light,
If we slip I’ll give it up for you"
Like what the heck killing the light? It's like it was written for Carly! And what if it all goes wrong and I fall in love with you? This is legit what happens. Anon I can't, it's too crazy perfect!
Actually, while we're on songs! Another one that I really loved for them in this story (there are so many good ones though really) is Christmas lights by Zach Seabough. If you haven't heard that yet go listen, but I see that being Freddie's pov.
"You kissed me one night
You never thought twice
Now I'm a punchline
At least that means I'm something to you"
And
"So, you go, knowing I'll follow
The little bit of hope you leave me for tomorrow
It's a sharp pill, it's hard to swallow
But if it helps take off the edge, and fill the hollow
Hole inside my chest that's shaped like you
No one fits the mould, so what's the use?"
Gah! Let me know what you think! 😘

Thoughts on the newest iCarly Revival S2 episode
I’m gonna go right ahead and say that I enjoyed it. Although I am looking for just a tad bit more, the new season’s really settled in to what vibe they’re going for and I absolutely love it! Personally, the ep with Granddad Shay is still the best ep for me so far, but this newest ep isn’t so bad.
Let’s firstly talk about the main plot. I think it was a good nod to the original show to finally talk about Spencer sacrificing his personal life to take care of Carly. The og show gave hints of it, but because Carly and the gang were much younger, they couldn’t really understand Spencer yet. It’s also a nice parallel that Carly in Season 2 is as old as Spencer in Season 2 of the old show. I absolutely adore the sibling relationship between Spencer and Carly. Now that Carly’s finally reached his age, you can see how much she’s beginning to understand what he went through in the past. I hope to see Spencer finally finding the right girl (maybe I’ll make a separate ideas vomit for this?), but regardless more Shay-centric and Spencer-centric episodes in the future please!
Secondly, the subplot. Something interesting I want to talk about was how even if Freddie’s story in the ep was a subplot, it wasn’t random and forgettable. We’re starting to get the developed Freddie from the latter seasons back! It’s too early to say that my theory about Pearl helping Freddie blossom or develop by pulling questions is in place, but it seems to be going in that direction. It was also a nice revelation that Mrs. Benson is attached to Millicent; from what I remember, Mrs. Benson really wanted a daughter so that’s probably why she’s so fond of her. Hope to see more from the Bensons!
Finally (and I know y’all are waiting for this), let’s talk about revival Creddie. I must say… I don’t hate Pearl at all. Sure she’s weird about the banana and other things Millicent and Mrs. Benson mentioned, but she hasn’t done anything unlikable. I absolutely hate it when writers make the pre-endgame love interest interesting and likable but suddenly make them into terrible people (*cough* WES DESERVED BETTER WRITING *cough*). I’d much like a healthy or understandable resolution—see Jake Peralta and Sophia Perez from B99. I am enjoying the slow dive into Creddie as long as it doesn’t drag along too much. I don’t want Carly to get jealous just because of Pearl’s presence in Freddie’s life alone, you feel? I want it to happen gradually and not for that factor alone. She’s definitely A BIT jealous deep down because of that random slap from ep 1 but it’s not serious yet. We have to wait and I AM HERE FOR IT.
Side note, I really enjoyed the subtle references to the old show. Aside from Spencer’s life and love history, I liked how Mrs. Benson mentioned Freddie being a champion fencer. We never got to see the Fencing Bensons be referenced again except for iStill Psycho so it’s nice to hear that Freddie continued with the sport. To add, the minor details were utilized really well. I saw a tweet while I lurked on revival tags and it was interesting how they mentioned Carly and Freddie always sharing popcorn when they watch a show or movie and how Freddie had to turn down Spencer offering popcorn to him and Carly—subtle contrast on Pearl with the banana. One last thing, Carly and Freddie naturally are found to stand and sit really close next to each other. It was quite interesting to see that even if they are next to each other, they are distanced (I kinda have to explain this sometime later, don’t I?).

yay! could i request a dialogue prompt 26 with creddie, please? :) thank you!! <3
Of course you can! I'm so happy you chose Creddie as I haven't been able to get them out of my mind since the new season came back. Hope this is okay!! <3 (Talk of endometriosis and period symptoms, just in case that kind of thing puts you off!)
A quiet groan from behind Freddie has him rushing to finish filling the glass in his hand with cool water, throwing a glance over his shoulder. For a second, he has a terrible image of destruction, a broken leg, head colliding with the coffee table. He abandons the glass entirely.
Carly's barely managing to push herself up into a sitting position, so there's really no reason to worry, but he still kneels himself at her side by the couch. For one, it at least puts an obstacle between her and the coffee table.
"Oh god," Carly groans and lets her entire body flop back down into a crumpled heap. She closes her eyes and shakes her head into the couch cushions. "I'm gonna throw up."
"Do you want help to the bathroom, or do you want me to get a bucket?" Freddie asks gently, resting a hand lightly on her blanketed leg. He tries to keep his face a mask of reasonable concern on the off chance that she opens her eyes.
She shakes her head again, pressing her face further into the cushions. Some hair covers her face and she makes no effort to fix it, so he does it for her as it gets in her mouth while she mumbles.
"What was that?" he asks. "Sorry, didn't quite catch it."
"False alarm, I think," she mumbles again, though somewhat clearer.
She takes a deep breath in through her nose and some of the lines of pain ease from her forehead. Finally, her eyes open, slow and blinking like a sloth, and only a slit enough for her to look at him.
He swallows hard and tries to smile. Moving his hand to take one of hers, he squeezes it gently and presses a kiss to her knuckles as he, too, takes a deep breath. It's definitely not relief he feels -- that'll only come when he knows for certain that she's okay -- but he's at least glad that she's able to talk now, which definitely wasn't the case an hour ago.
When he looks back up at her face, he finds her gaze fixed on him, simply watching. Her lips twitch as though to smile but she doesn't quite manage.
"Can I get anything for you?" he asks softly, trying to ignore the helpless feeling that's been tying him up in knots all day. "Is the heat pad helping at all?"
Carly hums, which Freddie takes as a yes. Then she shakes her head.
"I'm just exhausted from it," she tells him. "The painkillers are doing nothing either. Not surprised. They never really do. You'd think I'd be used to it by now, going through it every month and all."
"It's okay that you're not," Freddie says, gazing up at her. "Endometriosis is a bitch. I'd fight it for you, you know, if that didn't mean I'd have to fight you. We both know I'd lose, then."
Carly laughs, which is exactly what he was hoping for. She immediately groans and curls into a tighter ball, and he feels bad, but a smile lingers on her face.
"Yeah, you would," she says fondly. "I should probably just sleep it off but I... I don't know, I feel weird. It's kinda freaking me out."
Freddie presses another light kiss to her hand. "It's okay, Carls. You can sleep, you'll be fine. And," he settles himself properly against the couch, lacing their fingers, "I'm right here. I won't leave your side. Okay?"
He carefully drags the back of his fingers across her cheek as she hums again and lets her eyes flutter a little. It's obvious she wants to give in; the more she sleeps, the less pain she'll be in.
"Go back to sleep, darling," he says softly. "I'll keep an eye on you, make sure you're okay. Promise."
She jokingly runs her pinky finger up the side of his with a small smile, and while she's too tired to say the words, he knows what she's asking.
"Pinky swear," he says as her eyes finally close again.
Taking a deep breath, he rests his head in his other palm and watches her quietly drift back into what he's hoping is a peaceful sleep. He means to keep his promise and not move until she wakes again, gently stroking the back of her hand with his thumb so that she knows he's still there even in her subconscious.

okay hi. q: what would you like to see as the catalyst for creddie? I love the idea that carly starts pining first too. have a nice day!
OOO GOOD QUESTION. i have so many ideas about for this. some set in a more specific situation than others, unfortunately. but to sum it up, i want a good, gradual build-up:
- i think right now, feelings aren’t involved. freddie was genuinely concerned over carly as a friend and carly was looking for a way out of being argued upon. however, camera angles matter. so while they don’t indicate feelings right now, they could be counted as a tease
- catalyst 1: carly will see who she really prefers by putting beau and wes in the same place at the same time and checking how they respond to the situation (i see it as something for icarly). harper calls out carly again and asks Carly what she truly wants, gives carly tips, and whatnot. of course the plan carly does backfires and sets wes and beau off, angrily. freddie then helps carly out and carly has this odd realization that freddie’s response of the situation was her ideal response from either beau or wes
- catalyst 2: carly ultimately chooses between wes and beau, but increasingly starts to spend more time thinking about freddie. wes/beau notices and gets jealous
- catalyst 3: i think this is something i truly want to see. at this point, freddie does not have feelings for carly. if he were to gain feelings for her again, i think it would be through millicent. let me further explain... gwen is out of town and mrs. benson can’t be there for millicent because of an emergency. carly steps into the role as marernal figure in a school event. millicent gets injured and freddie catches carly caring for millicent. he feels something and knows it’s familiar
- catalyst 4: perhaps freddie meets a nice woman who is almost perfect. no nonesense of trying to break people up, we’re way past that. but suddenly, oops! a double date situation where wes/beau, due to not holding it in anymore, mentions the elephant in the room: carly likes freddie. awkwardness ensues. wes/beau break up with carly and then freddie’s date decides they can’t get together. carly and freddie have a heart-to-heart. no kiss. no makeout. no sleeping together. just a mature conversation between adults. did i base this off b99's road trip ep? yes. yes i did
- catalyst 5: THE BIG ONE. something gets pulled from the past. honestly, i don’t fully know what i want yet for THE BIG ONE, but i just know that it has to be painfully disruptive to the present. i'm against what others are saying about carly and freddie getting together or hooking up once carly got back from italy; it would be a total disservice to their platonic friendship if that happened. i'm pretty sure they talked about the kiss even before carly left for italy (when he helped her get her bags). i am also aware that their romantic history may have been counted as "complicated", but let's not read into this too much right now. what i can see as THE BIG ONE from the past is some sort of letter, gift, or secret that wasn't given or found out. again, i don't fully know what this is yet in my head, but it's so big it can wreck a purely platonic relationship. it could be a pact, but it feels way too simple to wreck
- carly and freddie have an argument starts off petty with teenage points brought up, but escalates to diplomatic and debate-like. carly argues that freddie deserves better than what life is offering at him. freddie then tells carly the same and how someone still "whole" like herself doesn't deserve "damaged goods with extra baggage". then there could be this entire part where freddie calls their entire argument ridiculous and rambles (more so about how his life is screwed up). he could maybe question about being last choice at everything and then i imagine something along the lines of:
"You were never last choice, Freddie."
"But I was never first, right?"
"Almost twenty years ago, maybe..."
"But now?... I thought so..."
"I love you, Freddie. I just wanted you to know that."
"I know... I love you too."
and they don't kiss or anything. it's just that. i'd rather their first kiss be in a season finale instead (like jake and amy's in b99 or have it end like the office's "the job").
anyway, i have some other ideas but explaining them would be too time-consuming and lengthy. this is the main framework i want to happen though. it doesn't have to be exact, but i'm just not a fan of those planning-to-break-love-interest-and-other-person-up arcs as well as sudden kisses and hook-ups. i love conversations between characters as they feel more raw and vulnerable

hi! I thought about a catalyst for creddie similar to the ones you’ve mentioned that I’ve seen used as a trope. it depends on how it’s done, but it can spark something out of it. like: freddie starts dating a new woman and it goes all well the first times, after a couple of days of going out Freddie decides it’s time to introduce her to Carly. Since she’s his best friend she will know if she’s good for him. the introduction goes smoothly as well, until a couple of weeks pass by and the girlfriend starts feeling jealous of the relationship freddie and Carly have to the point she tells Freddie that “it’s her or me”. at this point you’d have the both of them frantically deny that there’s anything romantic between them and that she has to trust what they say. nevertheless, freddie can’t accept that the girl who he’s dating is telling him he can’t see Carly anymore and says it’s over. however this does bring the two to talk wether or not they are seriously just friends when even strangers keep seeing them as a couple (because they have been mistaking for that other times into the same period of time) and cue the heart to heart
i really like this idea! funny thing is, i’ve recently come across iStart a Fan War clips a lot on my social media pages. while the world knows that seddie dated, they don’t know that creddie did. so i figured that in the universe of the show, one could understand of seddie more as opposed to creddie, given how their relationship went public. so it honestly feels right that some people don’t understand what’s going on between carly and freddie.
going back to iStart a Fan War, it was interesting to see adam (an outsider force aka carly’s crush played by demi lovato’s ex lmao) comment over how close carly and freddie are. we know that sam and freddie aren’t the best of buds outside of their romance—whether seddie fans like to admit that or not. carly and freddie on the other hand, really built a friendship over the years. now, i’m not saying sam and freddie aren’t friends now, they’re adults already, after all. but for lack of what was shown to us, when they were growing up, some people would mistaken carly and freddie’s closeness as something else so this is definitely something to consider especially now that they’re older.

hmm so how'd you handle/put closure to the whole seddie thing in the revival? i'm happy their not rushing into explanations like right now their just mentioning her in regards to her friendship with carly & hopefully s2 her importance to the webshow which should take priority & then they should get around to resolving it somehow.
honestly, i really don’t know. i think a good and simple acknowledgment will do. maybe freddie’s first ex-wife makes an appearance on a relationship-centric episode. carly and freddie have a heart-to-heart there and their past relationships get mentioned. anything but making sam the first wife is fine for me. i know what seddies are feeling, but they should realize that this could ruin seddie more than relieve their lack of seddie in the revival.
EDIT: ALRIGHT. i finally have an idea for some seddie closure.
maybe we can have carly go live on whatever platform where she and freddie will answer some questions and allow fans to get to interact with them. not only would this be a great way to incorporate iCarly and today’s social media landscape, but if used properly, it could bring seddie closure. we could have the creddie and seddie fans back and then carly and freddie answer their questions quite frustratingly, because “Why is this still a thing, right?” there is then gonna be a little awkwardness brought by the situation, so they decide to talk about it after the live is over. this could come in the talk about first loves, lost loves, and everything related.
if the creddie arc does happen, i would place this happening somewhere before freddie falls for carly for the first time in years again. idk, it just brings up a good pov for the fans to eventually get closure.
