dottore anon here again! YOU'RE SO RIGHT, DOTTORE AS A CHARACTER IS SOO, HE'S SOOO<3 JUST CHEF'S KISS... hes such a cool villain, not to mention hes, i think, first actual real threat to the traveler. hes fascinating too, i remember how some1 said hes a living contradiction: wants recognition, but is arrogant, he wants to belong but he cant fit in, he craves love but is so cruel... just. screams. not to mention his sexy design

also, i did read ur other dott x reader works! right after finishing that manhwa au chapter i went looking for more works about dotty on ur profile hehe and they're amazing too!! it's just that that chapter has a special place in my heart<3

HE IS SUCH A CONTRADICTION I LOVE HIM. Dottore is so arrogant and talks about the TRUE values of what it means to be a scholar and a researcher but his ass was kicked out the Academiya yet he is so obsessed with it and the students of it like tighnari + nahida's whole role as someone who rules it in a way like.,, his ass can't let it go aaaa. and he has all this vast knowledge and he did what he did to extend his life yet he has no plans to learn knowledge of emotional intimacy and anything similar.

One of the most interesting pieces of lore about that ugly but beautiful man to me personally comes from nahida's story that serves as the allegory.

i hope the screenshot is good enough,, anyway. He is called a lone monster and i always wonder is it the fact that he was the only one on that mission the reason why or because he feels no particular need for the Fatui. Sure the they became friends part can be seen as something just used to simplify the story but the thing is, later on he goes and removes his disguise and looks at his REFLECTION and calls himself a monster. Like, he is willing to ADMIT IT. It makes me think that what Dottore wanted was for someone to recognize him as a monster and for them to love him anyway because he was so different. He WANTS acceptance of some kind but hates when it is not the kind he imagines.

And the word SOLACE !! DOTTORE FOUND SOLACE !! when he saw this ugly kitten who was in no way a human. I partly think this was because Dottore could cling to some humanity in him that scara lacked completely but thats too.. i want to give him some benefit of the doubt that he was finally GLAD to have someone different like him; someone he wouldn't have to pretend around.

And all of this suffering he had waiting for his true reflection and all to be shown and accepted just made him MORE angry when this ugly cat had no issues with being different; when he didn't have to PRETEND to be something he isn't to be liked,,,it gives me,,, i don't know I just can't help but to cling on to this specific part when it comes to my dottore characterization and yes people can call it theory and wishful thinking but I think it will amount to a lot more.

Blind!albedo let's go. I 100% think Albedo would blind himself in an chemistry accident and have to rely on his knowledge of his surroundings. He most definitely tries to figure out to how to get his vision back he ultimately gives up because, after awhile he knew he would have to adjust to this new life.

Or maybe Albedo's eyes slowly degrading, maybe his memories too, maybe hes losing his sight and he cant remember faces anymore, he doesnt remember Jean's scrunched face when Albedo wakes up at his desk, he doesnt remember Kaeya's sympathic eyes when Albedo is pouring his fifth cup of coffee that day, he doesnt remember Lisa's unwavering scary gaze anymore when he returns a book just a few minutes before the deadline. Maybe he's forgetting Klee and he's scared to forget her and hes doing everything he can to get his memories and vision back to he doesnt forget the few family and friends he can.

Maybe he goes out and forgets where he is, Dragonspine does look similar (i get lost so much), maybe he now needs someone to guide him to remind him of what hes doing, maybe he forgets his origins what truly was and made to be. Maybe he slips up on it, forgetting its suppose to be a secret.

Blind!Albedo running his fingers along the wall with a fast pace and everyone moving out the way because he will push you out the way u forgivingly.

Him with a cane? Oh my god he most definitely hits People ankles with it, especially people being disrespectful to any of his friends (Sucrose especially).

ALBEDO WITH A GUIDE DOG? I dont know if theres any big dogs in Mond other than the huskies that are spotted around town (hoyo let me pet them) but a big slobbery mess of a mastiff dog guiding Albedo around is too cute to me. Klee decorating the guide harness with stickers or etching letters into the leather covering the hard plastics for Albedo to run his fingers over to where they get worn but Klee always etches them again.

Before i continue this, pls note that blind is a very wide spectrum 🫶

Albedo with thick glasses hello?? I think him waking up and forgetting he just cant see clearly anymore so he goes to his lab squinting and Sucrose and Timaeus has to literally carry an extra pair around.

Blind!albedo getting his eyes injured in a scuffle or perhaps one of his eyes got punched a bit too hard.

Maybe he was created with faulty eyes, his eyes are not as good as they are suppose to be, eyes on humans are such delicate things afterall and probably the most vulnerable. He doesnt tell anyone why he bumps into things or why he squints or why he hates changing him room around because he can't remember where everything is.

BLIND!ALBEDO YES PLEASE?? okay so he's blind now, but you bet he will use his geo vision to 'see'. he pretends not to, so he can fool some people (aka assholes and unsuspecting strangers seeing a blind man and be like 'i'm so sorry this happened to you, do you need help' and albedo proceeds to beat them up without breaking a sweat)

he still has a cane and guide dog tho. the cane is kinda a fashion statement, gifted to him by lisa and he really likes hitting peoples ankles and shins with it.

the guide dog is definitely a bernhardiner dog. a big slobbery mess and a mountain dog, a perfect companion for him. said dog will be the most spoiled dog in whole mondstadt, if not teyvat. he also always eats the fish klee brings back from fish blasting, even tho most times the fish is... a bit more than burnt. klee is his favourite person, besides albedo. dunno what his name would be... but we can worry about that later.

also, the different ideas about how albedo became blind or is blind? is so brilliant so i'm adding a few things and kinda sorting it in groups

chemistry accident. and while he knows the biology of humans very well, he doesn't have the knowledge to fix himself. after all, he isn't quite human and his master never taught him how to fix his eyes. either he's 100% blind on both eyes or only on one eye (and wearing an eye patch like kaeya xD)

slowly losing his sight. this is such an awesome, but also sad idea. just him slowly but surely losing his sight and also his memories of the people around him. oh he knows that jean is blond and has a beautiful smile, but he just can't remember how it looked like. He knows klee is small and cute, his favorite person of all, but he can't remember how her face looks like when she laughs. he can't remember kaeya's grin and lisa's chuckle, every time something amusing happens.

eye injury. his sight is pretty weak after a fight against the fatui, it doesn't get worse, but it also doesn't get better. he can't read now without glasses and detailed examination of his experiments is a bit more difficult now, since before the accident, his eyes were top notch, super sharp and generally making his life easier when he experiments.

'born' blindness. he isn't exactly blind, one eye sees better than the other, but he still needs glasses to read. his general coordination and awareness of space around him is a bit fucked up, since his creator did create working eyes, but something just... went wrong. maybe his brain can't work well with the pictures and information produced with his eyes, maybe there's something wrong with his eyes. he doesn't dare to change anything, in fear of damaging his eyes even more, this is why he has thick glasses.

in general, blind!albedo would be probably using his geo vision even more, and probably be one of the few mortals, who unlocked all potential of his vision. he can see with his vision, and paired with the elemental sight, he's still an foe you wouldn't want to cross.

(kinda reminds me of toph, from avatar, and ngl albedo figuring out something similar as earthbending would be freaking awesome. after all, fighting with a sword while being blind is a bit difficult, isn't it?)

HEAR ME OUT, I'm slowly being pulled in with hsr. I've burnt myself out playing genshin back when I farmed so hard for Raiden but didn't get her. Slowly leaving my genshin playing days (but I obsess over Alhaitham all day every day 24/7 365, secondly). My sister was playing and she let me watch the cutscenes, (I think I bruised her shoulder with the way I was giggling and hitting her shoulder cause blade, Jing yuan and danfeng were in frame). THE LORE SEEMS SO ENTICING. but overwhelming hah! I just get overly excited. I CAN SEE MYSELF NOW ALREADY WHEN MY HSR PHASE ENTERS. IT'S GONA BE THE END OF ME HAH!!

I'm currently waiting for wuthering waves because of my husband jiyan, like... I'm grinning so big writing this. Idc what expectations people have for the game, jiyan has already stolen my heart. I'm so in love I refuse to do this anymore. I wanna be chaotic, I wanna break stuff XD.

I haven't read the anecdotes because my attention span is very limited unless it's manhwas or books and sometimes I don't even read the paragraphs finsiehd. I'm terrible. I have very limited knowledgeable on the story but it's enough to keep me engaged (because I'm telling myself I'll fully invest soon soon soon but gets overwhelmed and then doesn't get to it). THE ONLY TIME IVED EVER PLAYED A CUTSCENE OR WHTV WITHOUT SKIPPING IS WHEN I WAS DOING SUMERU ARCHON QUEST AND AL HAITHAM CAME ON SCREEN. BECAUSE OMGFJSISIW MY ATTACHMENT TO ALHAITHAM IS UNREAL. back to l&ds, currently I'm waiting for updates on the main story that I don't fully get hahah😅 I told myself I'll redo all chapters to understand it but it's been a month. anyways, having preferences is completely normal!! If it makes you happy and brings you joy, it's all you and for you, and if it doesn't, whose forcing you to like it!!

backstory !

was raised in a traveling commune, which bounced between state parks and forests. all intense survivalists but also...not, like obvs can’t have sustained agriculture traveling from park to park, so the group’s leaders would often detour alone to pick up supplies every now and then.

but a horrible place to grow up, not that he knew that ‘cos it’s the only life he’s ever known. was just a pretty violent / toxic atmosphere with a hyper survival of the fittest mentality, a lot of sparring that would go too far, not nearly enough resources for the weather conditions, or anyone with actual medical training for when anyone got sick or injured - all under the guise of self sufficiency.

also very poorly homeschooled, chase barely knows how to read, and stories/info was often read to them or recited by memory.

at eighteen he’s given more responsibility, gets to go on supply runs. goes to like, cvs, for the first time. hates it FJHG, really just has no desire to explore more of the world even though he knows for sure it’s out there now. his ‘family’ are thrilled about this - knowing they basically have him for life.

trains and mentors the younger members, unwittingly encourages violence, sort of pushing them to their limits because for the group it’s less about winning and more about being able to survive - endurance and being able to endure is so wrapped up in reverence which he mistakes for love.

when he’s twenty the whole commune gets busted, apparently they had been secretly under investigation for a while. his parents were in the commune too but never make that distinction known so the cops tell him and he’s like ok and ? just like, doesn’t know that that’s meant to mean anything.

goes to jail directly to jail does not pass go ... takes a bit to go to trial, but he ends up serving two years. and that’s what you missed on glee ! currently living with his grandparents at lilac ridge, which is weird. they feel very much like strangers. also on parole still, f in the chat.

personality !

hates it here, feels like shit just wants to go vibe in the woods again. is a lot more quiet than he used to be, truly flopping like a fish out of water.

always saying the wrong thing then getting frustrated at himself bc humiliating ! and if no one respects him, ‘cos he knows nothing about anything anymore then how can anyone ever love him ! this thought depresses him - finds it super hard to make friends ! doesn’t understand any pop culture references.

can be a bit rude, a wee bit hostile, physically aggressive, immature. just doesn’t think before he speaks smh. won’t admit when he’s wrong either will just be like, ya that’s what i meant.

competitive as heck ! catch him trying to out chin-up the person next to him at the outdoor gym down at the beach. loves games too, but not like board games, think he’s only ever played cards anyways ... but like, duck duck goose.

for all the survivalist training, not even that street smart (and not book smart at all). like ya he can identify types of mushrooms and wipe his ass with a leaf in a pinch but i mean he doesn’t need to do that now rip.

easily influenced but pretends he isn’t, his grandparents were like chaser ? that’s no name. we’ll call you chase. and he was all like whatevs ... but now he introduces himself to people as chase.

fun facts !

other song choice for app was cop car by mitski, but chase doesn’t listen to music. or particularly like it, but he’s had to get used to his grandparent’s excessive radio use.

has dimples, very cute when he smiles. this is a fact and i personally find it very fun.

will eat anything. tho his fave food is honey on toast the cottagecore girlies are quaking !

favourite story is jack and the beanstalk which he still thinks was made up by the commune. doesn’t know it’s an actual book/tale bc they’d always recount it by memory.

everyone called him chaser because he was good at chasing people FGHJ, king of tag !

begrudgingly saving up for a phone, doesn’t see the point of it but apparently it’s imperative for his “ future life prospects ” ???

really feels out of the loop with everything like he’ll never be caught up but, someone give him a pop culture 101 lesson !

makeover montage ? rly do imagine him with the worst style !

someone who gets him out of his shell a lil, makes him has fun, takes him to a party or the arcade, endless possibilities truly.

a future roommate, he simply does not have the funds to move out yet... but imagine...if they let him stay with them for free KFGH or let him crash whenever. honestly probably the worst housemate, just pacing at all hours, leaving the fridge door open.

alternatively people who either know his grandparents ( who i imagine as a muriel and eustace FGJKH ) or live in lilac ridge !

people he gets in fights with...grew up where violence was a first resort unforch so the moment things get heated he’s throwing hands. or like, him asking who do you need me to beat up to someone sad over an ex or smth and actually meaning it...

co-workers ( where he works tba ).

and all the usual jazz, friends, enemies, hook-ups, unrequited crushes.
