wait hang on i knew jack & ianto would end up together but i didn’t realize it would happen so fast 😭 felt like all of their development happened off-screen in s1 i was lowkey expecting more like… relationship build up

Janto at Disneyland:

Jack makes Ianto wear a pair of Mickey Mouse ears. Ianto protests at first but as the day goes on, he decides he quite likes them, and buys Jack a pair too.

Jack is a big fan of Disney, he hasn't seen all the films, but he's seen all the sappy romantic ones, he can sing all the romantic songs, and serenades Ianto in the Disney hotel.

Ianto acts as if he doesn't like Disney. "I'm more of an action movie fan, much more my speed" Jack groans, knowing full well that Ianto can recite the words to Show Yourself from Frozen II backwards at this point.

Ianto does like Disney, but he has a reputation to uphold. Everyone knows him as the action and thriller movie fan, if they imagined him as a romantic Disney Stan he would probably explode.

Ianto buys Jack a backpack, it's blue and looks like Donald Duck. Jack finds Donald's voice way too funny, he breaks out into laughter every SINGLE TIME he hears it. Ianto actively takes him to any ride or place they might be able to hear Donald.

Ianto can do a really good impression of Donald Duck. Jack doesn't find this out until they're laying in the bed in the hotel surrounded by plushies and merchandise, and Ianto says "Mother fucking Quackity Quack" in Donald's voice with a completely deadpan expression on his face. Jack breaks into a laughter that brings tears to his eyes. The whole of the next hour is filled with Jack requesting phrases from Ianto in Donald's voice, while Ianto grins at Jack's enthusiastic laughter.

In the morning, Ianto wakes Jack up with a loud "QUACK QUACK SLEEPY HEAD" in Donald's voice, and Jack's morning starts well.

They go and explore the park, using their fast passes. Jack sees a dress in the one shop, it's black and has little Minnie Mouse heads in it. He shows Ianto who says it's cute, they head in and buy it. Jack keeps it in his Donald Duck bag knowing full well that he's going to wear it with Ianto later on.

They go on multiple rides, including roller coasters, much to Jack's dismay. He's never liked Roller-coasters. "Deathtraps" he calls them. An immortal man calling a roller-coaster a deathtrap is something Ianto will never get over. Jack will literally take him to the top of the highest buildings in Cardiff, with no safety barriers, but a roller-coaster? oh no that's TOO scary

They go on the biggest roller-coaster, and Jack spends most of his time with his arms looped round Ianto's right arm, he couldn't nuzzle into Jack because of the shoulder holders, but if he could? He'd be wrapped around Ianto and he wouldn't let go. They get off the ride, and Jack starts saying how much he worships the solid ground now, while Ianto playfully teases him about it.

They end up talking about Disney more in depth on the third day, when Ianto asks Jack why he likes it so much. Jack just shrugs, he says something about how he can't resist a love story and a good singalong. He returns the question to Ianto, who denies even liking it. Jack smiles, shaking his head 'you're still wearing mickey ears and you bought literally half of the parks merch. as if.' Ianto smiles again, "I just love happy endings. and they always get them in Disney films." Jack pulls him in for a kiss and they continue on.

The fourth day it rains. It REALLY rains. It doesn't stop alot of the bustle, but it does slow the park down. They had both packed large enough coats, but Jack whines "why don't I have a Disney themed coat?? I have to be ✨thematic✨" Ianto groans, he didn't fold Jack's great coat so nicely for him to whine about needing another.

They head down to a shop that sells large coats, Jack sees and immediately falls in love with a large black coat, it's soft with a thick material. There are green swirls and designs from the lion King revolving around Scar. Jack buys it and won't take it off. He only takes it off to shower and to sleep, and Ianto LOVES it. They spend the day in various cafes, Ianto complains about the coffee in at least two of them, Jack laughs it off.

They wake up late on the last day, and spend the day rounding off the last of the attractions and stores. They have to fight a weevil at midday, Jack jokes about how the trip was almost disaster free while Ianto drags it into a sewer.

They end up doing karaoke and sing a duet of I can show the world, Jack as Jasmine, Ianto as Aladdin. Jack sings I won't say I'm in love from Hercules, and Ianto sings Reflection and then Make a Man out of You, both from Mulan.

They get on the plane home, and watch Hercules together, Ianto making daft jokes about Greek Mythology, while Jack critiques the little aspects. "Hera wasn't that nice, she sent the snakes!" Ianto just smirks and makes some stupid quip about how 'ssssssssserious Jack was taking it' Jack playfully punches his arm, and they continue watching, each smirking to themselves about the other.

They arrive back in Cardiff, back in the hub. Owen jokes about the sheer amount of stuff they bought, and about how they're going to need to expand the vaults. Tosh grins 'I never realised how much you two loved Disney.' Gwen giggles about their outfits, specifically Ianto's mouse ears and Jack's bright red winnie the pooh shirt.

Ianto visits his sister and gives her and the kids their presents, plushies and all.

All is well, all is happy and they're in love.

(pt 1)Jack has been adamant about making Ianto dinner. Every night, Jack insists on going back to the flat, letting Ianto sit back with his feet up while Jack cooks dinner. Ianto's not going to complain. Jack's an amazing cook after all. The first night, Jack makes spaghetti, using the pasta maker Ianto managed to salvage from Serenity Plaza. It's amazing, of course, but Jack is kind of just. Staring at Ianto? Ianto compliments the dish, thinking Jack's fishing for praise but. Jack doesn't stop?

(pt 2) The next night, Jack makes spaghetti again? with meatballs this time, and Ianto's just glad that the pasta maker is getting used. He tucks his napkin in, worried that this is some ploy to get pasta sauce on his clothes so he has to take them off. Jack's staring at him again and Ianto tries not to squirm under the attention, but he doesn't get it? They're half way through the meal when Jack starts nudging the last meatball towards Ianto, but Ianto is full. He doesn't get why Jack's pouting

(pt 3) this goes on for the rest of the week until Ianto finally caves and tells Jack that he's kind of tired of spaghetti and he knows Jack was trying something that Ianto just wasn't getting. So he asks Jack to just come out with it! and Jack looks him dead in the eye and says "well you know that scene in Lady and the Tramp?" and Ianto is like "you've been making me dinner all week because you want to recreate a scene from a movie about dogs falling in love?" and Jack is like "IT'S ROMANTIC!"

Jack gets so over excited that when he tries to finish it that he accidentally snaps the noodle and it hits Ianto in the chin. They get it after a few tries. Jack’s radiating with warmth and satisfaction and corny, sappy love

Captain Jack Harkness 8D

What I like about them : He’sso COOL ! and fun. And interesting. And he’s the only one Iknow who still wears suspenders. And he looks like dealing withALIENS is natural for him. He’s awesome. (and he killed a demon byhimself. That takes… I don’t know. But it does.)

What I dislike about them : John Barrowman is quite good of an actor, but… sometimes, he has strange facial expressions. And is a bit hammy. But maybe that’s partly what makes the character fun.

Favourite moment : Jack Harkness is awesome in each and every scene, and looks awesome all the time, clothed or naked. But let’s be honest, his most wonderful scene, the one that defines the while character, is him crashing a tractor through a wall to save his employees. The definition of « crazy awesome ».

Least favourite moment : this one almost went in « favourite moment », but it hurts my feels too much. But that scene in Children of Earth, when he realizes that his cockyness is going to get Ianto killed, and suddenly, he’s pleading and begging for his lover’s life. It’s heartbreaking, but John Barrowman’s performance really sells it.

A situation with this character that I want to see explored more : WHERE IS HE FROM AND WHY IS HE IMMORTAL AND WHERE IS HE GOING AND EVERYTHING !!!!

An interesting AU for this character : give him a ship. A real ship. Make him the Other Captain Jack. Imagine him, dressed in a largely open shirt with frills, wearing weird pants, a badass longcoat with belts, wielding a sword, and proudly displaying the most awesome and gaudy hat. Make all the others his crew, name the ship something ridicule (like « Torchwood »), and push them towards the setting sun !

A crossover : I want to see him meet Shelock Holmes. I don’t even really have a reason, I just want them to meet. I want Sherlock trying to sherlock-scan him, and missing totally because that’s impossible ! People just don’t come from the future. And then Jack just smiles his Harkness-smile and tells him that once you’ve eliminated every other possibility, the one left is the right one, however impossible it is. Cue brainfreeze.

OTP (or OT3+ etc…. just… favourite ship) : of course my OTP for him is Ianto. They are perfect for each other. They are adorable. And fluffy. And adorably flustered once surprised in action. And aaaaaaaaaah just hold me. And plz bring Ianto back to life thank you.

Other ships? The TARDIS Maybe Jack x The Doctor, if they have cute interactions, but I haven’t seen Dr Who enough to judge. And with John Hart, but that’s mainly for fun.

BROTP : with all the others. Of course Gwen looks the closest to him in the series because it kinda focuses on her, but he’s everyone’s bro. Or mommy. Or both. Bromy.

NOTP : romantically, with the others. They just…don’t click. And with no other character / villain / whatever. It’s just… nope.

An assortment of headcanons!- Ianto is the only one allowed to wear The Coat. At first, he wasn’t really, but when you’re lying naked on your boss’ desk and complaining of the cold, the only options he has is either to tell you to get dressed (and he would be miffed of being deprived of that sight) or lend you something to keep you warm. The coat makes an acceptable blanket, and Jack can still enjoy the scenery if he gets under the coat with him.- Jack looks tough in front of everyone in Torchwood, the cops, people from his own time, the Doctor, etc…. But he panics as soon as Ianto gets a papercut and fusses over him. Ianto assures him each time that he’s not dying and everything he’s find, Jack isn’t satisfied until the cut is disinfected and bandaged, and Ianto is comfortably seated with a cup of coffee and a puring captain.- his favourite color is dark blue. Stars are optionnal.- his favourite undies are no undies. He’s very audacious- he loves ananas on his pizza. The monster. Ianto refuses to share his pizza. No ananas for him. No, sir.- he loves to sleep in the nude. Of course he does. Only in winter does he wear something, mostly one of Ianto’s shirts, because he’s kinda sappy like that, and he doesn’t really own t-shirts anyway.

Gwen gets self conscious about gaining weight when she’s pregnant with Anwen. Ianto reminds her that he gained weight after dating Jack and he’s never once complained or mocked Ianto for it, and Ianto didn’t even have a human being growing inside of him to blame. Also Rhys isn’t exactly in a position to judge. Gwen feels a lot better after that

She’s also very happy knowing that Ianto’s body confidence/confidence in general has grown so much over the years

Jack catches Ianto working out more often and gets worried that Ianto’s feeling insecure again

“Nope, just need to make sure I can keep up with an old man like you in the field.”

Jack knows by the gentle appreciative smile Ianto gives him that he’s being honest, but still appreciates his concern
