I’d love to tell you that I’ve secretly been working on a longfic this entire time, but alas, I haven’t touched a google doc in months.
The closest I got was tweaking a The Last Of Us fic I originally wrote for the game in like 2016 and couldn’t stand sending to Savannah without making some changes to update it to my current writing ability. (And I said I might post that too…and still haven’t.)
It’s been a bad writing year, it just has. It happens to the best of us. You get off the horse because of life events and it’s hard to get back on, especially when you’re multifandom like me and start reading for other fandoms that are more active at the moment. (And because frankly, my life never really stopped being crazy. Money/Family/Work have been tag-teaming me on and off, so the time I get to myself is usually spent on video games to turn my brain off or sleeping too much.)
I never say never—I might get a burst and finally come back to a lot of those WIPS! It’s happened! I trailed off of writing Rebelcaptain fic and I’ve been reading a lot of it since Andor came out. Like, 3 years worth that I’d missed. It’s great!
Sorry to disappoint but I do still love all of the Marvel stuff I’ve made and I hope that the plot bunnies bouncing around in my head get onto a page at some point again, even if it’s for another fandom. Literally just…proof of life that my brain can still do the writing thing for fun. 😭
Anyway, shame answering this at midnight but also trying not to feel shame about it because I tell my creative friends all the time that it’s okay to have slow periods, especially when living circumstances/real life are in the way of your creative headspace.
Glad someone still cares enough about my work to ask though, thanks so much!!!
