PSA
If in your au not all alphas are men, don't make them all masculine coded. that includes the language that you use to describe them, their emotions, their personalities, etc..
if in your au not all omegas are women, don't make them all feminine coded. that includes the language that you use to describe them, their emotions, their personalities, etc..
a well-written female alpha isn't just a guy with a wig on
a well-written male omega isn't just a girl with short hair!
let your betas be something more than just a haphazard combination of the two.
we exist within the constraints of a binary society, any omegaverse is built upon a triad if you are using a/b/o. that makes the whole thing very different from how we operate.

good writing is purposeful.

stuco as honors class kids (or whatever the japanese equivalent is idk this is prolly americanized but whatever) let’s go
yuki: poster boy for the honors program. gets good grades, has his student leadership extracurriculars, gets into every college he applies for, has a couple sob stories about how he was struggling in a class at first but really put his mind to it and studied and pulled out ahead a better person. doesnt have a job (rich). his valedictorian speech makes parents cry and not a single student relates to it whatsoever. gives off a vibe of being hardworking without ever actually getting overwhelmed by anything. (alternate take, bc i KNOW from watching hq that japanese schools have separated out honors courses, and i also know for a gd fact that there’s zero chance that tohru uo hana kyo etc etc etc are in an honors class like. there’s no way. yuki motherfuckin sohma’s not in the honors class and got into the stuco on vibes alone gd he prolly makes the worst grades of all of them ahhhh)
kakeru: the kid in the honors class that u look at and think ‘how tf did he get in here.’ he sleeps through class. rarely turns in hw. works a hundred part time jobs and is always talking about how the shit u learn in school is meaningless and the teachers should teach us real life skills. and then he takes the fuckin test and scores higher than anyone else, the fuckin natural genius bastard. gets along well w p much everybody cause he’s one of the few in the honors class that DOESNT act like being in honors makes him better than everyone else (on the surface level. deep down he’s got the bona fide honors ego we all know and love)
kimi: extracurriculars, social butterfly queen. in about ten different clubs and a leadership position in each one. starts the class group chats to ‘help each other study and whatever else ; )’ (all the boys in the class join, hardly any girls cause it’s kimi she’s popular w the boys and all the girls hate her). nothing of academic value is ever said in the chat. she makes high grades and people start asking her for help in the group chats and she says ‘owo sorry! idrk how to explain it sorry ahaha. oop gtg i have club!’ despite knowing exactly how to explain it and spending half the time in club on her phone anyway. one of those kids who seems to be doing as much if not more than everyone else and handling it perfectly fine. secretly doesn’t sleep
nao: the over-extender :(. took every highest possible level class he could legally enroll in. his backpack weighs 50 pounds. takes him five hours to do hw every night. doesn’t have a social life. doesn’t sleep. has one extracurricular and it’s the stuco. constantly comparing himself to the other kids in the class and SEETHING with jealousy cause how do they do it. how do they manage to do all this academics shit and still look happy and refreshed and get to sleep instead of having a caffeine addiction. doesn’t realize he’s taking more higher level classes than anyone else. also doesn’t realize that colleges focus more on extracurriculars than they used to but it doesn’t matter cause his academic record is incredible in comparison. has a panic attack if he gets below an a on a test. first year of college he has an internship lined up
machi: every day thinks about dropping to the non-honors classes but doesnt. tired. sits in the back and doesn’t talk to anyone. zones out when the teacher is talking. doesn’t turn in any homework. people try to make friends w her after the psa presentations about how the lonely quiet kid in class might be getting bullied (she doesn’t really react to it enough to maintain the relationship and they stop bothering her a few days later). randomly gets huge bouts of motivation, which she uses to cram right before tests. still makes decent enough grades to stay in the honors classes (or does she.............. alt take but machi is canonically in haru’s class and while i love haru i don’t see him in an honors class either??? machi probably used to be in honors classes but dropped down to non honors in high school ig but idk why she’d be in the stuco then? probably kakeru talked takei into it tho tbhhhh)

Okay. So serious talk. Hussal up, hush up, listen up and gather yourselves around. EVERYBODY. IF YOU PLEEEEASE.
Hello. Hi guys, gals and other things that stalk the deep dank of tumblr.  Got a PSA from me to anyone following me and anyone who writes on this site. RPs, stories, etc. just have a read I’ll keep it brief as I can and mark the areas out for ease of access... just read it. The idea of this being brief or easy to navigate got destroyed by hour 2. Just read. too much time and not enough either enjoy 6 hours of rambling in a semi-coherent, honest, heartfelt mess :| THE NUMBERS WHAT DO THEY MEAN!?! I think there is a certain amount of responsibility that comes with having any number of followers. Any audience, anywhere really. I’ve been on tumblr for 11-12 days something like that. And I’ve amassed a 35 or so people that follow me, trying to accounts but I don’t know if I have well enough but either way. At least 30 individuals, over 300 notes. Shouldn’t mean anything. It's numbers. Stuff happening in the background. Rest of the universe moving and working, bouncing around like it does. These are how many cosmic specs are watching your cosmic spec ass and these are the things they like, these are them interacting with you. This ain't my first tumblr and honest this is nowhere near the biggest I’ve been. Though this is the first time I’ve been surrounded by ALMOST strictly writers, RPs and writers. The number of you means nothing but what you are as individuals are what’s enthralling.  YOU’RE AT AN 11! I’MA NEED YOU TO BRING IT DOWN TO LIKE-A 5, KID! People have an expectation and a standard when they interact with people. It’s normally of themselves though. Sure, we can judge and do judge other people on occasion but most people keep standards of themselves far higher then they do for most outsiders. You know what I mean. You’ll have a talk with someone new or someone you like and step back and realize. “HOLY SHIT. I LOOKED BAD.” Whether or not it was something about your person or your conversation you realize to you, you looked bad. This may not apply perfectly to everyone but most I think. Most of us on here have the same concerns. I did an ask bombing run a couple of days back. I asked everyone that was following me at the time, 27 people with some repeats/double accounts, five simple questions, some more but none less.  There was a majority in some of these question’s answers. Mainly A LOT and I MEAN A LOT of self-doubt. Now I could put this nicely and sweetly and very wovey-dovey-cheerleadery but everyone knows I’m a nice sweet man for the most part which is why I think this will have more of an impact. You, allll of you and me and everybody on here.  GET YOUR FUCKING HEADS. OUT OF YOUR COLLECTIVE ASSES. ...please and thank you. We are all so deep in a pit of self-judgment when it comes to our writing talents, abilities, how we and our writing will be seen and received that it’s not fucking funny and it’s not fucking health.  If you are an rper or writer and I’m following you. I love or at minimum enjoy what you do whether or not I’ve rped with you, said it to your face, etc. You are doing your best, right? For everyone on here, I’m assuming that’s a yes and for most of us, that’s a yes AND then some.  RIDERS! DISMOUNT! Allllllll of you! Allllllllll of us! We need to get the fuck off the high horses, okay? We aint fucking rough riders, everyone. You have an I.Q. of XYZ!? Don’t give a shit, there is always a bigger fish, always someone smarter than you and theirs always a million ways to be smart. The smarter or bigger mother-fucking-fish is normally the mother fucker you’re bragging to.  Are you a good person? Do you do your best? Do you give value to the lives of those around you?  There is no goodest person. There is no one gooder then you if your good. Billions of people on this planet are good people. Most people, even mother fuckers that hated my fucking guts would say I was a good person. A LOT OF YOU ARE GOOD PEOPLE. Can’t say I’ve talked to everybody but who I have are some great people. As we discussed Doing our best? We are pretty much all doing our best here. I say it all the time because I mean it all the time. I do my best. Until I feel comfortable enough to not have to do my best to every single thing until I’m comfortable enough in my skin around a person or people to let myself slip up. - BUT PLEASE. We are not writing the fucking Iliad here guys, this ain’t a fucking fancy gathering of high society where one must look the best all the time, this ain't fucking Shakespeare, this ain’t no fucking term paper. This is a bunch of mother fuckers having fun on the internet. Take it with a grain a fucking salt and dismount, please. The air’s probably a little fuller down here.  As far as value ... that is some complex shit and I like to think I’ve helped people, never know, but I can say people around here have helped me. You know who you are if you tried you did. That’s what I’ll say on that for me. BUT SECOND FUCKING CHANCES AND HUMAN FUCKING CONVERSATIONS! TALK. SERIOUSLY. YOU’RE FUCKING ADULTS AND NEED TO ACT LIKE IT. FUCK! I need to dismount as well though and we all need to stretch a leg and relax cuz this shit right here took me. SIX count ‘em. Fucking. ONE. TWO. THREE. FOUR. FIVE AND SIX. Hours and I cut out roughly 1000-3000 fucking words my followers and friends. If you know me then you know that was A LOT for me.  Saying what I said hear meant a lot to me. I took a lot of time I could have put elsewhere and effort I probably would have preferred to put to something crushing and pressing like “The Imperial Guard Christmas Special” This literally started as an update to tell people what to expect from it and apologize for it endless delay. Sorry but yeah it’s been hor-fucking-rific For a fact after you have all dismount say hi to somebody new or that you’ve wanted to talk to or that you need to talk to if this was worth 6 hours of my time and you’re reading it. Never know what will come of it. I HATE MY WRITING! I NEED MY HEAD OUT OF MY ASS AS MUCH AS YOU! Am I a stupid person because I have difficulties with spelling and grammar? If you know me and you said ‘yes’ then you’d the first mother fucker that ever said that shit to me in earnest. I have said stupid things and done stupid things, we all do at some point but we grow and learn from stupid things. More is learned in failure then in success, a lose then a win. Children do stupid things all the time until they become adults and then they do them a little less.  We’ve gotten pretty good guys! Really, we need to stop kicking ourselves and worrying as much as we do. We’re all very scared to jump on that hand grenade of rping with someone new, talking, being human. We’re literally all just human on here.  (If I missed you in the bombing run I’m very sorry, it may have been because you didn’t have an ask box or just an error on my part it was a confusing and harsh couple days for me. You can go back and see that. If you want your questions, your voice in this, hit me with them asks and/or PMs I’ll get them to you ASAP.) WHO AM I!?! WHO AM I!!!
I am an ancient beast, my kin and I walked this plain long ago, probably long before you knew of its existence. I am not a who but a what, old and eldritch. I’ve seen much and I know much. I have been gone a long time, I have been gone many times, but I intend to stay and find meaning, be happy as I could not be before. love you guys and talk soon. I must sleep.

The Psoriatic Arthritis Awareness Project
https://healthandfitnessrecipes.com/?p=3273
Sharing my psoriatic arthritis story is something that has been important to me for the last few years. Why? Because in the beginning, I felt alone, with not many options. Learning about other’s stories, and what has helped them (and conversely not helped), really assisted me in getting on a path to managing my condition.
May 2018 is Psoriatic Arthritis Action month for the National Psoriasis Foundation. During these festivities, the NPF and Novartis released videos highlighting 2 patients with psoriatic arthritis in an initiative called the PSA Awareness Project.
The process started a year before when the NPF and Novartis teamed up with a company called Tongal – a creative community with a network of filmmakers including writers, directors and producers – to launch a campaign called “The Psoriatic Arthritis Awareness Project.” The project’s goal was to produce two short films, using ideas from NPF’s own community that provide an emotionally engaging look into the lives of people living with PsA. The goal of the films was to highlight the importance of treating the disease and receiving optimal care.
From May 22 through June 13, 2017, the NPF invited their community to submit ideas for a film about PsA. Individuals were invited to share ideas that explain what life is like with PsA, how the disease affects family and friends, how treatments have changed the ability to live or anything at all related to life with the disease. All we asked was that people submit real and compelling pitches. Individuals did not need to have to have PsA to submit an idea — submissions were also welcome from friends, caregivers or family members of someone living with PsA.
Once the submission phase ended, a panel of judges made up of representatives from NPF, health care providers and those living with PsA chose their favorites. The top ideas were then posted to NPF’s website where the community had an opportunity to vote.
The two ideas with the most public support were then sent out to the Tongal community of filmmakers, where the community members took the ideas and ran! The Tongal community has worked with companies large and small on these types of projects — including mega-brands like Lego and New Balance. This is the first time Tongal has embarked on this type of partnership with a pharmaceutical company and a patient advocacy organization to raise awareness for a disease like PsA.
I had a chance to talk to the 2 psoriatic arthritis patients and their production teams prior to the May 15th, 2018 launch of the videos. I have to say that it was incredibly inspiring and entertaining to speak with them! These videos are something that you absolutely don’t want to miss out on watching.
Before you head over to watch their full videos, take a few minutes to watch their trailers and to get to know more about the stars of the PSA Awareness Video, Jenn and Shirley, and their production teams.
Jennifer Pellegrin’s story – created by McCoy | Meyer
Jenn originally applied to share her story as a caregiver for her father. Jenn, her father AND her brother all have psoriatic arthritis and psoriasis. Jenn laughed saying her mom’s been in a snowstorm the last 20 years of her life. (I laughed when she said that too. What a funny analogy!)
Self-proclaimed as shy and quiet, opening up out of her shell and expressing her story has made Jenn realize how important her advocacy efforts are. Throughout the process of making this video with the McCoy | Meyer production team, Jenn says that she’s grown tremendously.
The scariest part of sharing her story has absolutely been the possibility of getting judged. There are a lot of people in Jenn’s life who don’t even realize she has psoriatic arthritis. Having been private for so long about it, she didn’t want people to think she was just doing this to get attention. Jen doesn’t want the attention, but she does want psoriatic arthritis to get attention!! While we wait for science to find a cure, Jen wants to help break the stigmas associated with psoriatic disease.
What’s been the best part of sharing her story?
“Because when I’m doing that I forget I have the disease. So often when I’m advocating or around all of the other psoriatic disease advocates when I go to NPF events or when I’m doing a walk or a run or a cycling event, you forget you have it because at that point this is about your life and making the quality of your life better. . . I’m at my best when I’m advocating because I honestly forget I have the disease.”
Jenn knows there are going to be bad days, but she says there will always be great days too! (You KNOW I loved when she said this! I 100% agree!) I asked Jenn what she really wants people to take away from her video and she said that she wants others to know that this disease doesn’t define who we are. It’s perfectly acceptable to stop and ask for help (in fact, YOU SHOULD) and that the more awareness that we bring to psoriatic disease the less likely we are to be judged.
During our interview, I had the chance to speak to Eric and Justus from the production team. Neither of these men knew much about PsA before having the chance to tell Jenn story. I asked them what surprised them the most about psoriatic arthritis and they said that how many people in Jenn life who know her and don’t know how the disease affects her. That it’s so easy to forget what a struggle it can be because Jenn puts on this happy face that everything is fine, but that there can be so much more hidden behind the curtain.
Just like Jenn, McCoy | Meyer Productions wants to help drive awareness of the condition. They want others to not jump to conclusions and to not make assumptions. People need to take the message of their video to heart. Although you the viewer may not share Jenn’s exact story, we can all relate to knowing how it feels to have others not know the whole story of what’s going on in our lives.

Shirley Wallace’s story – created by LampLit Productions
Throughout my psoriatic disease advocacy travels, I have yet to encounter Shirley. And I have to say, speaking to her over the phone made me want to meet her and give her a huge hug! Shirley’s sweet personality is infectious and inspiring. Doctors told her she was going to end up in a wheelchair and Shirley refused to let that happen. She took control of her own health and decided to macgyver hack anything she could to help her still live the best life possible.
Making this video is the first time she’s ever spoken out about her condition. Shirley says she feels very exposed sharing her story. Maybe it comes with the territory, but she’s afraid of others judging her for stepping up and shedding light on this condition. (HEY! THIS SEEMS LIKE A COMMON THEME HERE!)
It’s almost like Jenn and Shirley both knew the way to my heart because Shirley said: “it’s only today, tomorrow’s a new day and you have to take it day by day.” AMEN! Amen to that.
What’s Shirley’s biggest tip for managing psoriatic arthritis?
“Never give up. Never give up fighting this disease. And it’s quite easy to do. The stress, the anxiety, the depression that goes along with it. No matter how low you sink, don’t give up.”
Melissa, from LampLit Productions, was also on the phone during the interview. She said that her favorite part of working on this project was getting to meet Shirley. That not only is she extremely humble, but Shirley makes it her nature to help others.
Like Eric and Justus, Melissa didn’t know much about psoriatic arthritis before completing this project. What surprised her most? How encompassing the condition is. She was continually surprised by how PsA affected everything Shirley did. But, instead of letting this disease hold Shirley back (like many of us can do), Melissa was so impressed with how she THRIVES with it.
Both Shirley and Melissa want viewers to be introduced to the fullness of what psoriatic arthritis really means.  They also want you to know that there are so many options out there to manage your condition. Don’t let your quality of life suffer because of psoriatic arthritis. Take control of your health too and take advantage of the options that are out there today! Shirley sure wishes these options would have been around 31 years ago
Click here to watch Shirley’s full LampLit Productions video.
I’d love for you to head over and watch these two ladies stories!
Once you’re done, feel free to share your own story in the comments below! The more we can share our psoriatic arthritis stories, the more awareness we can bring.
And if you don’t have psoriatic arthritis or psoriasis, share something that surprised you!
The more awareness we can bring, the more we can break down stigmas and fight towards acceptance. It all starts with US.
Wishing You A Pain Free Day!
