I stopped at Starbucks for an ice coffee yesterday and it tasted strange. Like it was a little sweet. I had ordered it black, like I do everywhere, so I asked the guy if it was possible some sweetener had gotten in the cup.
“Oh yeah,” he said, “we always do our two classes pumps!”
Two. Classic. Pumps?!
They made me a fresh one with NO pumps of anything at all, simply (as Dennis Leary once put it) coffee flavored coffee. They also offered to let me keep the first one but I refused and handed it back.
A day later and I am still utterly boggled. Is this a thing in every Starbucks, putting liquid sugar into a coffee ordered black by default?! Is this just the one location? I need to find out, because this is NOT okay.

As last year’s project was 22 in ‘22, this year’s is, apparently, going to be Twenty Twen-Teeth.
To wit: my luxury bones are borked. I have a 100% overbite, which is wearing my front teeth, top and bottom, down. They’re already several millimeters shorter than they used to be. This can be fixed! With braces!
…which is going to run me $6.5k.

Sooooo I am going to be pulling out various completed projects to sell, as well as making new ones for the same purpose. I figure if I sell a hundred things at $65 I’m golden. Or 65 things at $100.
Which means I’m setting my base minimum for all the things until further notice at $65, and happily entertain higher offers.
First up:
Crocheted in a 50/50 wool/silk from Juniper Moon Farm, this piece works great as a shawlette on the shoulders and even better as a scarf. I wore it to work today to hold off the chill of a 40F drizzly New England morning because I didn’t want to bother with a sweater. It is soft and comfortable against the skin, and has enough different colors in it to pair well with a variety of outfits.
I hate to let it go, actually, but as the closest one at hand it is first on the block. If you’re interest, please send an offer!

Sure your kid is cool and all but MY kid gave me a cane that is my current favorite color, is collapsible, has a little o ring on it that I presume is for hooking on a key or retention strap or something, has exactly the handle style I like, and is already set to the correct height for me.
Did the child obtain this can from the side of the road? Yes, definitely.
Won’t someone be looking for it? It was apparently sitting there for many days, so probably not.

So, I have this bottle of wonderful perfume oil. I originally found it at the Faire when I was 16 and could only afford a tiny amount inside a glass vial hidden in the center of a pendant that was a pewter fairy and flowers (not pictured). I jealously hoarded that oil as my Most Special Occasions Only perfume for twenty years, until I was finally able to go back to that Faire. I didn’t expect the vendor to still be there.
THEY WERE THERE. And I had Grownup Money this time so I bought a proper vial of oil. (Pictured)
More recently, I went on a day trip down to Cape Cod that included a visit to the Sandwich Glass Museum, and I bought a tiny glass perfume bottle. (pictured)
The dilemma before me is how the HECK do I get the perfume oil from the wide mouth glass vial into the slender necked perfume vial without spilling, minimum waste, and without running afoul of the physics of fluids. Thoughts and prayers?

In the cafe, waiting for breakfast, trying to mind my own business at the window counter. Two seats away a guy is setting up a laptop workstation thing with his 7(?) year old kid eating breakfast on the other side of him when I hear
Guy: *struggling to get something connected*
Guy: *muttering* fuck yoooou and the horse you rode in on.
Kid: …
Guy: …
Kid: that. Was. Beautiful.
And I did not look up and I did keep my laughing silent. The kid was was also giggling.
Guy: …yeah. Daddy’s funny when he’s grumpy.

So I work in a customer service position in a smallish town with lots of repeat people due to the nature of the business. And there is a little coffee shop up the street I go to for breakfast because their bagels rock and their coffee beats Dunkin by miles.
The coffee shop girl and I are super friendly, so she tries to always serve me instead of her coworker doing it. When she does my breakfast is zero dollars, which rocks. I always bring my wallet, I never expect it, but.
But today one of my regular customers came in behind me, put his hand on my shoulder, and told her he’s got me today. She laughed and told him no, she’s got me today.
And they started arguing. About who got to pay. For my breakfast. They argued (friendly-like) about who’s getting me. It was not an awakening but sure did confirm that I really like people arguing over who gets to take care of me.
I am too bisexual and too slutty in my heart for my Monday to start out like this. *flailing*

I forgot my lunch today because of reasons so I ordered from the Chinese place up the street and the drinks part of the menu had something called Lightbulb Thai Tea. I love Thai tea! I thought lightbulb was a brand.
It was a descriptor.
That little plug can go in when the straw is removed and the metal part screws on to protect it.
It’s so stupid I’m going to use it forever

I am trying not to TL;DR out in frustration on the knitting. But I wanted my hands busy while I sat watching a heist movie with Youngest Spawn (the kid had never seen Ocean’s 11 before) so I grabbed one of this summer’s spontaneous yarn sale purchases and posted up on the couch with a starburst pattern I found for free, since I have someone interested in a starburst shaped shawl and I needed to familiarize myself with the construction.
So I got this much done during the course of the movie. It is more round than I expected, but I really like it, and the yarn is dreamy soft.
The pictures are terrible for the color, because my living room at night is just Like That. It’s a much brighter teal.

Good mornthing!
A friend reached out to me this week, asking if I still do Circular Gallifreyan artwork. It has been a long time, but I always enjoy doing those designs, so I asked him what he needed. Turns out, he is participating in a secret Santa at his workplace, and wanted to give his recipient something with the recipient’s name on it, in Circular Gallifreyan.
I have always done it by hand before, but he was interested in something more crisp/digital. I have a tablet now, so I downloaded an art program and mucked around with it last night for a while. It does a lot of things I expected, with the bonus of having a circular ruler which pretty much exploded open a world of possibility for me. Even with the learning process and discovering I’d left a bunch of artifacting on my base layer while in the process of just learning the tools and tap/gesture requirements, I knocked out a full name CG design in barely over two hours, and can do future ones more quickly now that I’ve learned the basics of the program.
I’m not going to share the one I did last night because it is someone’s name, but I do want to share. Anybody got a word/phrase for me to try in Circular Gallifreyan?
