i was thinking of a gloomy headcanon

like what if Keying died for real and Yuzhi got destroyed and his emotional health damage to the point he starts to Hallucinate Keying inside the house (like he would cook for two people, he would say i have to go home Keying is alone or even talk to him self) but Jiang Yuelou comes and save him.

because he had dream about Keying that said save her brother.

Second of all, I think that it’s fucking hilarious that you’re like…I’m feeling a gloomy headcanon…you know who would appreciate this? Sass. Sass needs a good cry, let’s send this to her. Anyways, alright…sad sad headcanon, coming right up (ngl, I definitely teared up writing this)

After the car explosion, Chen Yuzhi was a shell of himself. Seeing his little sister’s body…her poor little eight-year-old body burnt almost beyond recognition…it broke him

Jiang Yuelou did his best to comfort Chen Yuzhi but the young man was inconsolable. His clinic was hardly ever open after the explosion and anytime he went to go check on him, he found him curled up in his bed, tears streaming down his face

He had always asked Chen Yuzhi if he wanted him to stay or if he needed him to get anything, but Chen Yuzhi would either shake his head or croak out a weak “no”. And Jiang Yuelou knew pushing someone when they weren’t…mentally stable or okay wasn’t a good thing (speaking from experience) so he didn’t try to push…he just did his best to be there for Chen Yuzhi whenever he needed him

After a while, Jiang Yuelou thought that Chen Yuzhi was getting better. Whenever he went to check on him, he found him out of bed and dressed in his suits instead of staying in his pajamas, and he seemed to have a soft smile on his face. It didn’t quite reach his eyes, but he was at least smiling and not crying. Which in Jiang Yuelou’s book was a good thing

However, whenever Jiang Yuelou went to check on Chen Yuzhi after he thought he was getting better…he noticed something…off about his doctor

When he went to go check on him at home, he always noticed that Chen Yuzhi seemed to make…more food than a single person could eat. Whenever he asked him about, Chen Yuzhi would just smile and say that he was making it for himself and Keying

Or whenever he went to go check on him at his clinic, he always seemed to catch him as he was leaving, causing him to grab him by the arm and ask him where he was going

“I have to pick up Keying from school. I’m late” or “I have to go home, Keying’s waiting for me”

That was worrisome to Jiang Yuelou because he knew…and he was pretty damn sure Chen Yuzhi knew…that Keying was dead. She was gone. And she wasn’t coming back. So why was he saying that he had to “pick Keying up from school” or go home early because “Keying was waiting for him” was beyond him

Over time, Jiang Yuelou continued to keep an eye on Chen Yuzhi and noticed that he was getting a lot worse…more so than he was getting better. He talked to himself more, his eyes had deep bags under them, he was getting skinnier…like his normally soft, baby face was becoming almost gaunt like, and he just looked…so weak

Jiang Yuelou didn’t like seeing Chen Yuzhi like this but he didn’t know what to do to help him because anytime he tried to ask him if he was okay, Chen Yuzhi would just smile weakly at him and assure him that he was fine. But Jiang Yuelou knew he was not

Then one night, when Jiang Yuelou was sleeping, he felt a tug on his pajama sleeve, causing him to wake up in confusion because he knew damn well he was alone in the house unless Xiao Bai was suddenly hungry…but Jiang Yuelou knew he fed the ragdoll so that couldn’t be it

He then blinked a couple of times before his eyes widened in shock: Keying was standing right next to his bed, her eyes big and doe like, just like her brother’s

“Keying…but…how—”

“Gege”

Jiang Yuelou blinked; Keying’s voice sounded so sad and distant…like she wasn’t really there. And he knew she couldn’t really be standing before him but she looked so…real

“Yes Keying?”

Keying then looked at him pitifully, her eyes filling with tears

“Save gege. Please”

Jiang Yuelou frowned

“Save him? Why?”

“He’s sick…he can’t move on…and he’s making himself sick. I don’t like seeing him sad…gege, make him not be sad!”

Jiang Yuelou looked at her sadly

“Keying, I—”

Keying looked at him pleadingly

“Gege, please…I can’t…I can’t listen to him cry himself to sleep anymore. I can’t watch him be sad anymore”

Jiang Yuelou stared at Keying and saw the tears begin to stream down her face. Even in the afterlife, Keying seemed to care a hell of a lot for her brother. He then sighed

“I’ll do my best”

Keying nodded before she disappeared into thin air, leaving Jiang Yuelou alone again in his bedroom. He stared at the place where Keying was standing a few minutes ago before he let out a groan and flopped back onto his pillow, covering his face with his arm. This was going to be difficult

The next morning, Jiang Yuelou got up early, around the same time that he knew Chen Yuzhi got up, and quickly got dressed before he headed out of the house and over to Chen Yuzhi’s house, arriving just in time to see Chen Yuzhi leaving for the day

Before Chen Yuzhi could even lock his gate behind him, Jiang Yuelou grabbed him by the arm and dragged him back inside, shutting the gate behind him before dragging him into his house. He then released Chen Yuzhi as the young doctor stared at him with wide eyes

“What the hell is wrong with you?!”

Jiang Yuelou looked at him before he sighed

“Yuzhi…you’re sick”

Chen Yuzhi frowned at him

“What? No, I’m fine”

Jiang Yuelou shook his head

“No, you’re not. I’m pretty sure what you’re experiencing right now is depression”

Chen Yuzhi narrowed his eyes at him

“Are you diagnosing me now with a mental illness?”

Jiang Yuelou huffed

“I’m not looking to start a fight, but you’re not okay, Yuzhi”

Chen Yuzhi scoffed and rolled his eyes as he walked past Jiang Yuelou, shouldering him as he passed

“I’m perfectly fine”

Jiang Yuelou sighed as he turned to face a leaving Chen Yuzhi

“Keying asked me to save you”

That got Chen Yuzhi to stop in his tracks and slowly turn to look at him, his eyes wide

“Keying?”

Jiang Yuelou nodded as he slowly walked over to Chen Yuzhi and stood before him, looking him in the eyes

“She asked me to save you because she doesn’t like seeing you sad and hurting. She can’t listen to you cry yourself to sleep anymore”

He then reached out and cupped Chen Yuzhi’s face in his hand, gently stroking his cheek with his thumb as tears came to Chen Yuzhi’s eyes

“And to be honest, I can’t watch you be in pain and hurting either…I don’t like seeing you sad, Yuzhi. You spent so long trying to help me when I was hurting…let me help you now. Please”

Chen Yuzhi stared at him for a long time, neither man saying anything as tears silently streamed down Chen Yuzhi’s cheeks before Chen Yuzhi finally broke and let out a sob as he hung his head, his shoulders shaking

Jiang Yuelou looked at him, no pity anywhere in his eyes, before he quietly moved his hand from Chen Yuzhi’s cheek to the back of his neck, cupping it before pulling him in so that his face was buried in his neck. Chen Yuzhi let out a keen as he clutched at Jiang Yuelou’s suit jacket, sobbing harder

Jiang Yuelou shook his head as he wrapped his arms around him and held him tightly, hushing him as he sobbed. Chen Yuzhi then slowly sank to the ground, Jiang Yuelou sinking with him, and all but curled into Jiang Yuelou, still sobbing

“Shhh…shhh, Yuzhi, it’s alright. It’s alright, Yuzhi, shh…”

“I couldn’t…I wasn’t…I couldn’t save her. I wasn’t fast enough…I wasn’t fast enough!”

Jiang Yuelou shook his head

“It’s not your fault, Yuzhi. Don’t blame yourself. If anyone’s to blame, it’s me. I should have protected her better…it’s my fault”

Chen Yuzhi shook his head

“But you brought her back…I should’ve stayed home like you told me too…maybe if I had, none of this would have happened…”

“Yuzhi, you can’t blame yourself for this…it wasn’t your fault. It’s Jinma Hall and San Ye’s fault”

Chen Yuzhi just whimpered as Jiang Yuelou let out a heavy sigh and lifted his eyes to the heavens before he looked down at Chen Yuzhi

“You know Keying wouldn’t want you to blame yourself…you know she wouldn’t”

Chen Yuzhi was quiet before he sniffled and nodded, letting out a weak hum of agreement. Jiang Yuelou then smiled as he gave him a squeeze before pressing a kiss to his hair

“Everything’s going to be okay, Yuzhi. Everything’s going to be okay. We’ll get revenge for Keying, hmm? We’ll get revenge for her. Together”

Chen Yuzhi slowly lifted his head and looked up at him

“You mean it?”

Jiang Yuelou nodded

“I mean it. I promised Keying I would save you and I intend to keep my promise”

Chen Yuzhi let out a weak laugh before he buried his face in Jiang Yuelou’s neck again, Jiang Yuelou reaching up to card his fingers through his hair. After a while, Jiang Yuelou looked down at Chen Yuzhi and hummed

“Let’s get you inside Yuzhi…you’re in no condition to work today”

Chen Yuzhi nodded and allowed Jiang Yuelou to help him to his feet before they headed inside the house, both men taking off their shoes before Jiang Yuelou guided Chen Yuzhi to his bedroom

“Change back into your pajamas, I’ll go get your kit”

Chen Yuzhi nodded and turned, picking up his pajamas that he had laid on his bed while Jiang Yuelou headed back out to the courtyard to grab his kit that he had left when they had sunk to the ground

Once he grabbed it, he headed back inside, placing the kit on the table before heading into Chen Yuzhi’s bedroom, where Chen Yuzhi had finished changing. He then smiled at him before he motioned to the bed

“Back to bed Yuzhi. You need to rest”

Chen Yuzhi did as he was told and climbed under the covers as Jiang Yuelou tucked him in before sitting down on the edge of the bed, reaching out to gently run his fingers through his hair. Chen Yuzhi let out a soft hum as his eyes slowly slipped close before his breathing started to even out and his chest began to rise and fall steadily

As Jiang Yuelou continued to run his fingers through Chen Yuzhi’s hair, a small figure appeared at the door of the room

“Thank you, gege”

Jiang Yuelou’s eyes widened and he turned to see Keying standing at the entrance of the room, a soft smile on her face. He then smiled at her and nodded

“I’ll look after him for you. Don’t worry”

Keying smiled a little wider before she walked over to him and Chen Yuzhi, looking at Chen Yuzhi with tears in her eyes before she leaned forward and placed a gentle kiss to his forehead

“Goodbye, gege”

She then turned and walked away, disappearing into thin air, Jiang Yuelou watching her walk away with tears in his eyes before he looked back at Chen Yuzhi and ran his fingers through his hair again

He would look after him and make sure that he got better…for Keying

Luoyang and Yitian Siblings headcanons

Let's see if I can get some serotonin from this

Um, @wagner-fell ?

As Luoyang is the younger sibling, she calls Yitian 'Gege', which basically means older brother in Mandarin

Literally she hasn't said his actual name once, but if she did, Yitian would be really fucking confused. Yk the meme of the guy with the question marks? Yeah that would be his face

Yitian calls her 'Lulo' in return for no reason other than he wants to have a nickname for his sister

They're very close for two teenagers tbh

Morgan and Lucas are hella proud of that ngl

Luoyang is a sKatEr, right? So Yitian takes her to cool skate parks around Mirror a few times a month and then they have boba tea because he likes hanging out with his sister

However, he will use his taking her to skate parks as leverage to get her to hack/pirate stuff for him whenever he needs her to

When they were kids, they used to latch onto (?) Lucas every time he turned on his playstation to get him to let them play (yes this comes from irl childhood memories of mine)

Anyways, they've played a lot of videogames together: the four uncharteds, every tomb raider, the god of wars (!!!!), etc

I need to talk about God of War

Basically, Luoyang has a pseudo-crush on Kratos. Cue photo:

Don't ask me why, she just gets this from Lucas because that man is straight but he'd definitely marry Kratos if he could. Kratos is cool

Kratos is not Yitian's type, but he really does enjoy making fun of his sister

Yrah also 'makes fun' of Luoyang, but they extrapolate her crush so much they end up saying Luoyang is into necrophilia

Anyways

Luoyang is around Yitian's height (which is pretty fucking tall) and a tomboy, so more often than not she'll creep into Yitian's room at random and steal his T-shirts of hoodies

Yitian hates it because he never finds out until he one day opens his closet and realises the only clothes he has left to wear are ones he grew out of at 10 and he has a date with Esfandiyar!!!

Honestly that's the only time Yitian will get angry at Luoyang. He'll chase her down the whole of Gangkou, shouting 'Lulo come here right now' while Luoyang is laughing hysterically and Lucas (or Morgan if she's not working) is just done with everything

Yitian never steals Luoyang's clothes because he's nice like that and thinks that, for some reason, the clothes he owns are better than his sister's even if they shop in the same places and literally have the same taste in clothes

Actually Luoyang's clothes might be a tad worn down because she's ~una bruta~

But Yitian has definitely claimed a random hoodie he found in her closet while looking for the clothes she stole was his, even if it definitely wasn't

Moving on, Yitian is the secret partner in crime of Luoyang every time she gets in trouble with her friends (Aaliyah, Odhran and her boyfriend Shun)

Mind you: she gets in trouble very often and in the weirdest ways ever

Yitian's got so used to Luoyang asking very odd, specific favours of him he no longer ask why he needs to hide a goat in his closet or why he needs to materialise to Aboveground Honolulu in a Santa Claus outfit asap even if it's August

Yitian spoils his sister a lot and generally doesn't mind her doing anything, but Luoyang isn't allowed into the kitchen

Nope

That's a line Yitian will not cross

The kitchen at Gangkou is a men-only territory. Morgan is horrible at cooking, Luoyang inherited her mother's horribleness in the kitchen, and so Lucas and Yitian took an executive decision never to allow them there in case they decided to take up the pans and give everyone food poisoning

Luoyang's bf isn't allowed into the kitchen either because he's a worse cook than Morgan and Luoyang combined

Next?

When Luoyang first had her period it was pretty bad because the cramps were horrible and she was kinda young and Yitian and her were alone at Gangkou and Yitian (who's never come close to female puberty thanks to coming out soon and puberty blockers and stuff) Panicked™

Listen, the sensible thing would've been calling his mother or any of the women in his life (which, taking into account most of Lucas's closest friends are women married to other women, and that all his childhood friends but for Marcus are afab + Oliver is a doctor, would have been easy) but this dude randomly sprints to the kitchen to make Luoyang a warm cup of tea because 'tHat'S wHaT aUnT cAl gIveS mE wHeN I hAvE a StOmacHaChe'

(Cal really thinks the solution to every physical ailment is a good cup of tea or otherwise having Hunter mask her pain away, which infuriates Dr. Oliver)

Miraculously, the tea works and Luoyang gets better and since that moment on Yitian makes tea for her every time she says she's on her period

Key word: says. Luoyang asks for a cup of tea virtually thrice a week (mostly while they're playing videogames so she can get the control) but Yitian prepares one for her anyways because, again, he likes to be a caring brother

Also, Luoyang helped Yitian get his dog

Cue explanation:

Yitian came out when Luoyang was around 4, so she didn't really process stuff beyond 'mummy says jiejie is a boy and I need to start calling him gege'. During this earlier period, Morgan and Lucas had a lot of meetings (ig) with Yitian's therapist (Oliver's cousin and Morgan's ex!) to see how to tackle having a trans son in the best way --basically like how a pediatrician will tell parents how to deal with their children after something unusual has happened during an examination? Idk. Luoyang never really understood much about this, but she did get how Morgan and Lucas sometimes talking about how some things 'helped with his dysphoria'

I'm obviously not an expert, but this morning a saw a tiktok of a guy saying he can explain gender dysphoria to cis people, but not how drinking diet coke instead of normal coke helps with his dysphoria because it makes him feel more masculine, so I suppose gender dysphoria can be a bit arbitrary? So, basically, whenever Yitian said something that would indicate that something would make him feel less dysphoric, Morgan and Lucas would buy/make that something (eg toys)

Mind you, Luoyang, as she didn't understand a thing, tried to use the 'it helps with my dysphoria' card to get haoson to buy her toys once. Only that she was in front of Marco, who kneeled down to get to her 4y/o eye-level and asked her whether she was a girl or a boy, and she very proudly exclaimed 'a girl!', so her plan didn't really work out still Lucas bought her the toys she wanted

However, Yitian got his dog using the 'helps with my dysphoria' card. Long story short: he was ten, wanted a dog, Luoyang wanted one as well, they teamed up to create a power point presentation (with a lot of special effects as befits a 10y/o and an 8y/o) expressing why adopting a puppy would be good, and had the undefeatable argument of It Will Make Gege Feel Like A Man™

Yitian had to work very hard to hide his smile. He failed, but the presentation was good yk?

In any case, the dysphoria thing was a recurring tactic between them from then on until Yitian became a teenager, got more in touch with his identity as a trans guy, and began struggling a bit more with dysphoria. He told Luoyang those jokes made him uncomfortable now and he wanted to leave them in the past, and that was it

Btw I'm not saying transsexuality is an illness, there literally are researches that proof otherwise and I have read one. I just don't know how to get the 'yitian was a little boy and as such lacked the ability to carry out the more technical aspects of his social transition and possible future medical transition, if there are any + Morgan and Lucas were given tips like how parents are sometimes given tips on how to raise their children correctly by specialists' point across lol. The only 'illness/off thing' in him pediatricians told Morgan and Lucas about was an abnormal growth rate because look at his father, and Lucas got paranoic about him having some issues (pretty much like what lalima thought about him, and what my parents thought of me lol)
