Several windows in the building are lit with golden light in a random assortment around the building. In a few of the windows, sillouettes of people can be seen in black. End ID]
2. [ ID: an exerpt of a tumblr post, reading; let me tell you — sometimes i think this might be all a bad dream. every now and then, when the world is quiet enough, when the yellow light hits the ceiling just right, i feel like a child again. sometimes i wish i could find the spot where time is the weakest, touch it, tear it apart, and wake up on the sofa, behind my parents’ backs where i’ve crawled after some nightmare. from the tv, a laugh track. i’m pretending to sleep. its summer. see, the balcony door is ajar. see, there’s a mosquito trying to get in. see, my heart isn’t aching. see? End ID]
3. [ID: a painting in a stylized fashion of a cat sitting on a table from inside a house looking out a window at snowfall. there are papers on the table, a wooden chair, red and purple curtains around the window, a yellow patterned table cloth, and cups of coffee sitting nearby the cat. The cat is black. The walls of the room are golden yellow. End ID]
4. [ID: a tumblr post by user electraheart2012, reading; being alive is like: you want to go home. you don’t know where home is. you want to go home. you don’t know where home is. you want to go home. you don’t know where home is. you want to go home. you haven’t known for a long time. you want to go home but you don’t know where you’d go. you want to go home  you want to go home  you want to go home. End ID]
5. [ID: A painting in a semi-realistic, oil style, of a corner of a home. The colors are mostly warm yellows, oranges, and browns. From left to right there is a calendar, a doorway, a console table, and a couch. There are mirrors, and shelves with books lining the walls. On the table there is a lamp, which casts most of the light in the painting. The walls have wood paneling on the lower half and paint on the upper half, likely white or off white, but appearing soft yellow due to the lighting. End ID]
6. [ID: a screenshot of a lyric page, reading; And one day we’ll get nostalgic for disaster. End ID]
7. [ID: an oil painting,  portraying a rectangular set of windows, looking inside a home at night. curtains cover the left and right panels of the windows, and the center one portrays a wall in the distance with several pictures on a fireplace mantle. The painting is in mostly golden yellow and orange, with the window frame in dark navy blue. End ID]
8. [ID: a handwritten note on a blue, lined sticky note, written in blue pen. The handwriting is cursive. The note reads; Dear Mum, / Once you’ve cleaned this room and house, I won’t forget the sweet, strange and unforgetful memories. This box will contain most of my belongings and I hope for you to take care of it. End ID]
9.[ID: A photograph of a room in a house through a doorway. The visable room is a dining room, with a table with six visable white wicker chairs surrounding it, a white fireplace/mantle with blue vases and pottery decorating the top, and several paintings lining the wall.  The walls are painted bright yellow, and the triming of the doorways are painted light blue and white. The lighting in the dining room makes the entire room look golden, while the room the photographer is in is in regular daylight. End ID]
10. [ID: a tumblr post by user girlfromenglishclass, reading; Childhood made everything feel like it lingered. The time it took for hot chocolate to cool down was eternal. Christmas day took weeks. The two-hour drive to my grandparents’ house took us to a new world. It’s all too fast now. End ID]
11. [ID: a photograph of two people on a bed. Both lay on their backs. One is wrapped in a puffy duvet cover, laughing with their whole face, looking in the direction of the photographer. The other looks up at the photographer, with their shirt pulled up, with most of their chest exposed, just wearing a pair of checkered boxers. The colors of the environment are light blue; the duvet and the sheets of the bed. The walls are white-ish blue.  The people are warm colors; pink and brown. End ID]
12. [ID: an poem exerpt, reading; But now I am mostly at the window / watching the late afternoon light. Back then it never fell so solemnly / against the side of my tree house, / and my bicycle never leaned against the garage / as it does today, / all the dark blue speed drained out of it. End ID]
paragraph break
[ID: two lines of writing, underlined in yellow, reading “one day i was seven years old, / after that all i ever was was lonely.” end ID]

Fresh Pressed: Model/Actriz Release Their First LP This is Fresh Pressed, in which photographer Matt Weinberger takes us inside some of the rawest moments happening in NYC and beyond. Fresh Pressed is all about encountering the juicy ideas, aesthetics and people shaping culture through the lens of the city's many creative scenes.Model/Actriz LP Release Show @ The Hole (2/25/23)Brooklyn-based band Model/Actriz, comprised of Ruben Radlauer, Aaron Shapiro, Cole Haden and Jack Wetmore, played an LP release show at the Hole, an art gallery in Tribeca, celebrating their new album, Dogsbody. The show raged on for a sweaty near-hour of fun to the great delight of their many fans who came out to see them rock the night away. The guys in the band not only play music well but also seem to have a good sense of humor. Cole, the lead singer of the group, opened the show while wearing his Halloween costume from last year (Rhonda Byrne's famed self-help book The Secret). The band, who cites influences including Björk and Fugazi, put on a show that felt like a high-energy mystical head-banging journey into the rock and roll dreamscape of a sleep-deprived neighborhood buddy. In other words: They know how to put on a good show. Their US tour starts in early March; they’ll be playing a show in New York on 4/20 at Racket. Jack plans on building a lamp that he saw in a dream to display at the show.Tony or Tony's Headline Debut @ Elsewhere (2/11/23)Tony or Tony gave an absolutely electric performance at their debut headlining concert at Elsewhere, where they performed a number of unreleased songs. The band consists of Tony 1.2, Tony Z and Quick Tony. Tony 1.2 and Tony Z grew up together in Arkansas. They escaped a cult together when they were 18 and moved to NYC and started a band. They describe their music as a “combination of late style thumper rave and glissando core.” Some main influences on the band include Tiny Leg, DJ Klub Foot, The Five Discs, Chris & Cosey, Neubauten and Beethoven. Tony or Tony is making music you can dance to. Their next song, "New Toy," is coming out at the end of March. LaQuan Smith NYFW After Party @ Silver Linings (2/13/23)LaQuan Smith walks into the club. Young Paris is dancing around with a big smile on his face. A dapper-looking man introduces himself to you as “Food God." One table over is Teyana Taylor looking sharp as a tack, chilling with her crew. Diplo walks into the club with Eric Andre and Emily Ratajkowski. Eric and Emily start making out in the VIP section. You try a few times to get a good photo of them kissing but kissing is awkward so the photos look awkward, too. Also, taking photos of people kissing is an awkward thing to do. Whoops. Ice Spice walks into the club and gets established at a table next to Laquan Smith’s booth. Ice Spice gets on the table and does an impromptu performance. She slays. You peer to your left and dancing in the crowd is none other than Lil Nas X. He is super friendly and dressed like a fuzzy rainbow. This all might sound like a weird dream born out of picking celebrities' names out of a hat — but this wasn’t a dream. This was my night at the LaQuan Smith NYFW FW23 after party.Dion Lee NYFW After Party @ Boom Boom Room (2/10/23)Fashion is culture and, at the Dion Lee NYFW FW23 after party at Boom Boom Room, culture turned up. The party celebrated Dion’s newest collection, one undoubtedly worthy of praise, following an epic runway show earlier in the day. There was a surprise guest performance by Azealia Bank,s who hopped up onto the bar and sang to the room filled with an absolutely stoked crowd. Everyone had their phones out to record the performance and capture a glimpse of Azealia as she rocked the room. The fashion world was treated to a very special night and Dion Lee re-confirmed his spot as a fashionista cool-guy favorite — a shining light within the New York fashion scene.Acne Studios Loves Larry Stanton After Party @ The Hotel Chelsea (2/9/23)Sometimes fashion is bigger than what you wear. Acne Studios, in partnership with Visual AIDS, hosted an exclusive exhibition of work by Larry Stanton, followed by an after party to celebrate his memory and accomplishments. The event was a respectable ode to Larry Stanton, who died of AIDS in 1984. Despite the somber circumstances on which the event was predicated, the atmosphere of the event was cheery and optimistic, serving as a celebration of fashion, art and the community we have amongst one another. With slick fits and knits, stripes and a dash of elegant sleaze, the Acne Studios crowd pulled up looking undoubtedly stylish while carrying a creative, street-inspired edge. Cocktails and champagne were flowing and chatter echoed throughout the venue as fashion industry creatives and models intermingled within the multi-room event space at The Hotel Chelsea. R.I.P. Larry Stanton — may his memory be a blessing. Viktor & Rolf FLOWERBOMB Party @ Jeans (2/9/23)Fashionistas, iconic style, couture galore, and flowers, flowers, flowers. Viktor & Rolf’s FLOWERBOMB party celebrated Emily Ratajkowski as the face of the fragrance. EmRata showed up in style — wearing a chic outfit with her hair done up in a manner that Aphrodite herself might have been jealous of. Everyone pulled up dressed to impress, with outfits that had all the Ts crossed — attention to detail was not spared. Partygoers were treated to DJ sets by Mona Matsuoka and Bambii while dancing between the two floors of the event, with the occasional stop at one of V&R’s fragrance discovery stations. Bright, flashing, flower-filled video installations brought the whole party together to create an overall immersive FLOWERBOMB experience. The Lifionized: A "Grace" Release Party (2/4/23)NYC got treated to the often taken-for-granted luxury that is typically only seen in the suburban and rural parts of America: A classic rock and roll house show. The crowd was treated to performances by both The Life and Stella Rose and The Dead Language. Both bands ripped legendary original tracks worthy of becoming part of NYC lore. Curtis Everett Pawley of The Life hit the audience deep in the nostalgia gut, granting us a taste of throwback bliss while also carving a musical path into the future of what the genre of rock can be. Stella Rose’s vocals and stage presence are equally worthy of praise and her guitarist, Ben Arauz, is easily one of the best shredders in the scene, creating a genuinely heart-pounding experience. Related | Stella Rose Reveals Her 'Angel' SideAF94's Valentine's Dance (2/2/23)It’s not even Valentine’s day yet but with AF94, Halsey’s beauty brand, everyone is already celebrating love. This dance was straight out of a 1980s romantic comedy. Delicious small bites were passed around in excess and a table of treats, constantly refilled, gave all attendees something to feel sweet about. The evening had an absolutely wonderful guest list filled with beauty industry sweethearts and online style influencer heartthrobs. Balloons filled the ceiling and the open bar sported a generous menu of delicious concoctions. The analog photo booth was a big hit, sporting color photos printed via chemical processing, spitting out images of all the partygoers eager enough to brave the long line. The beauty crowd came through. A truly glamorous night. MegSuperstarPrincess' "F List" Party @ Studio 151 (1/31/23)Beloved downtown indie-sleaze grunge girl and major trendsetter MegSuperstarPrincess is the queen of the F List. She threw a release party for her new Film, titled F List, at Studio 151, a fun upstairs East Village venue known for its sushi nights and for having been the haunt for Rachel Rabbit White's iconic birthday party this past year. At Meg's F List party, the whole F list "celebrity" crew came through. The party was comprised of a solid crowd of people you may have heard of if you're into niche downtown club scene DJs, grifters, writers, fashionistas or the post-Dimes Square debutantes of tomorrow. https://www.papermag.com/fresh-pressed-model-actriz-2659362969.html

Small Town Secrets
Warnings: noncon/rape, mentions of cheating, fuck machine, oral, blackmail, no edit.
This is dark!Lee Bodecker and explicit. Your media consumption is your own responsibility. Warnings have been given. DO NOT PROCEED if these matters upset you.
Summary: The sheriff knows your secret and wants to share it.
Based on these drabble requests:
Lee Bodecker + “I’ve done so much for you, don’t you think you owe me?” + Blackmail + (I hope you can do this) I would like to consider this as a form of continuation of the story that you uploaded a while ago, it does not have to be this way if you do not feel comfortable. Lee continues to blackmail the waitress, when he is in the restaurant talking to her, he sees how her husband arrives to spend time with her and he gets jealous, so when he goes to see her at night he decides to make her his forever so he gives her the gift of having his babies [Sorry I will not be continuing this fic in a drabble if I do a sequel but I am more than happy to write a drabble with your prompts)
Lee Bodecker + “I heard you last night. I hear you every night.” + fuck machine + As always I’m leaving it up to you @sweetkingdomstarlight-blog
Lee Bodecker + “You took the condom off?” + Blackmail + Lee forces himself on the reader one day and she tells him to at least put a condom and he never does and then that line comes on when he says something and she realizes he took it off and will impregnate her.
Tumblr media
You poured another cup for the sheriff and took out your cloth to wipe away a clumsy dribble from the table. You tucked the rag back into your apron as Bodecker reached for the sugar bowl.
“Anything else?” you asked. The diner was dead, it was almost midnight as the sheriff came off duty.
“How about you sit?” he looked around, “isn’t very busy and you don’t need to be prancing around on my behalf.
“I really shouldn’t--”
“Oh come on, Jethro’s home sleepin’, he won’t know you been sittin’ on the clock,” he coaxed, “and ‘sides, I’d say I outrank him.”
You looked at him and hesitated. You put your hand on the corner of the table and slid onto the seat opposite him. You set down the carafe lightly. He stirred his coffee and watched the cream swirl and pale the brew. His lips twitched as his eyes flicked up.
“I heard you last night…” he said.
“What?” you chuckled.
“I heard you last night. I hear you every night,” his tongue poked out and he sat back smugly, “sneaking into Lawrence Hayes’ Chrysler, just outside the old hole down on Tulsa Avenue.”
You frowned. You gulped as your blood ran cold and you tried not to flinch.
“I don’t know what you mean, sheriff, and I should get back to my work,” you tried to stand and he caught your hand on the table top. He jerked your arm and you sat back down.
“You think Annie Hayes would be interested to know what you’re doin’ with her husband?” he arched a brow, “not hard to guess but considerin’ what I’ve heard, I can be assured my guess is correct.”
You stared at him. You ripped your wrist from his grasp and crossed your arms.
“Why are you bringing this up, then?” you hissed.
“How ‘bout you meet me down on Tulsa tonight,” he smirked, “don’t worry, I treat you better than Larry, I ain’t like fuckin’ in no back seat.”
You looked at the carafe. You glanced over at the kitchen then at the clock above the counter.
“I don’t get off till four a.m.,” you said.
“I can wait,” he gulped down and mouthful and watched you over the cup, “I already been waitin’.”
“Why are you doing this?” you asked.
“I’ve done so much for you, don’t you think you owe me?” he taunted.
“Done what?”
“Kept your secret. You really wanna be known as the town whore?” he tilted his head, “nah, we can keep that ‘tween you and me.”
👮🏻‍♂️
The sheriff drove in silence. The anticipation and the knowledge of his intent kept you quiet too. His wandering eyes found you in the mirror as he pulled up to a house outside your small town. The sheriff lived out in the fields among the farmhouse, almost at the very centre of his county.
His door closing jarred you from your dread. He opened yours and grabbed your arm. The gravel gritted under your thin soles as he swept his arm around your waist and ushered you up the porch steps. The leather of his jacket squeaked as he pulled back the screen door and pushed open the thicker one.
He nudged you ahead of him and took off his hat. He hung it on a hook by the door and bent to untie his boots.
“Do me a favour, honey,” he said, “you go up and get yourself ready for me. Last door to the right.”
“I…” your voice trailed off, “I don’t…”
“Get naked, relax,” he snipped as he stood and kicked off his boots, “I’ll bring you something ease your nerves.”
You looked away and turned slowly. You went to the stairs and paused as your hand rested on the bannister. He passed by the steps and continued down the lower hallway. You climbed heavily and followed his direction to the last room. You looked around at the flowered canopy and the patched quilt.
You remembered the sheriff’s wife died a few years back. Everyone heard about that, they said he was crueler since then. In that moment, you would agree with them.
You undressed a piece at a time and shivered. You thought of keeping your clothes on and escaping through the window but you’d only hurt yourself in the drop down. You wouldn’t far neither out in the fields.
You sat on the end of the bed, legs crossed and arms hugging your chest. The dawn began to brighten outside the panes and the morning nip made you shiver. Bodecker entered and set down a glass in the dim. He flipped on a lamp and looked you over. He brought you the dark wine in the tall pint glass.
“You drink that down while I get set up,” he said, “you gonna want to drink it all.”
You took it and watched him. He snapped his fingers at you as he went to the closet. You turned away and sipped the acrid wine. It made your nose wrinkle and your throat tighten. You heard a creak and but kept staring at the door, your escape taunting you. You could leave but that meant your reputation and possibly everything else.
You’d come this far, you thought. You knocked back a large mouthful and coughed. You finished the rest and your chest burned darkly. You got up to put the glass aside and shyly spun back to the sheriff as he came up to the side of the bed.
You gaped at the odd machine he wheeled closer. The big wooden box had an arm attached to it and rubber extension in the shape of a man’s member. You covered yourself again and shook your swimming head.
“Go on,” he pointed to the bed, “on your knees there, let me see your ass.” You blinked at the odd machine and he huffed, “you’re makin’ me real tired of repeating myself.”
You got closer and crawled up on the bed, all pretense of modesty gone as you turned and exposed yourself to him. Your arms shook as you turned your ass to face him and his large hand spread across your flesh. He slapped you and groaned as you heard the wheels. He pushed it so that the rubber poked your ass.
“Get on higher,” he grabbed your hip and repositioned you, “that’s it.”
The rubber tip poked at your cunt and he slid a finger between you and the toy. He felt around until he found your clit and stoked with two fingers until you quivered. You bit back your voice as the cool air and the wine mingled with your reluctant arousal.
“Alright,” he pulled back his hand and pushed the machine against you once more. He guided your hips and rolled the machine to the very edge of the bed until it stretched your walls. You squeaked as he sheathed the entire length inside of you. “Now hold still and keep your legs locked,” he tickled your thigh, “we’ll go slow.”
He flicked the switch and the toy moved back. It shot forward again, then back, the forward, a steady but easy motion as you grew wet around it. You looked over your shoulder and he slapped your ass again. You clenched around the toy and he pointed over your head.
“Eyes forward,” he said, “I’ll give you something to focus on.”
He fiddled with the machine until the arm moved faster, a mechanical whir bit through the air. You groaned as your body responded to the constant fucking. Bodecker came around and walked across the bed on his knees. He undid his fly and pulled himself out. He stroked his dick as he grabbed the back of your head.
“I bet you ain’t never had it from both ends,” he purred and pressed his tip to your lips, “don’t even know what it is to be filled up completely.”
He shoved himself into your mouth and you gagged around him. Your throat squeezed around him as he invaded it and he soon matched the pace of the machine. His hips bucked as he moans floated around you. You hummed helplessly as your breath grew laboured and your eyes watered.
Your body tensed as the machine made you cum. You whined and the sheriff caressed your scalp with his fingers as he slowed your head. He slid out of your mouth and watched the strings of spit hang from your lips. He winked and growled as he backed off the bed.
“That wine must make you feel so good,” he said, “makes it easy, don’t it?”
He went around you and stopped the machine. He pulled it out of you and you twitched. He wheeled it back and you pushed your legs together.
“Don’t you worry,” he went to the dresser and turned back with a square in his hand. He peeled open the condom and slid it onto his hard dick as he neared, “we don’t want an accident now.”
He went behind you and pushed your ass down until you were on your stomach. He climbed up and kneaded your ass and thighs before he straddled you completely. He forced his hand between your legs and angled his dick against your opening. He leaned on you heavily, his arm across your shoulder and thrust into you.
You lifted your ass you ached around him. He went even deeper, the wool of his pants and his linen shirt scratching your sweaty skin. He moved his hips evenly, his hot breath against the back of your head, panting hungrily as he fucked you.
“You like that?” he asked, “Tell me Hayes ever make you feel like this?”
You groaned and pushed your face into the quilt. Your fingers curled around the stitches and you arched your back. He pulled back, entirely out of you, and slammed back into his limit. He jerked your body entirely and you cried out. He repeated the motion over and over, each time he seemed to sink further than the last.
“Mmm, any man’d keep this a secret, huh?” he purred.
Your head lolled back and forth, you whined and drooled like an animal as he rutted into you. Your walls tightened around him and your thighs tingled with another orgasm. You barely smothered it against the blanket but he kept going.
“I’m gonna give you a nice little gift,” he snarled, “we’ll see if he still wants you after.”
He slammed into you and you spasmed. He puffed into your neck as his weight made your body ache. He came with a tortured groan and you felt a warmth seep into you. Your eyes snapped open and you turned your head.
You shoved your hand down under you as he pulled out and threw himself off of you. He fell onto his back as his cum dripped down your fingers.
“You took the condom off?” you rolled over and sat up.
“Mmm, you like keepin’ secrets, don’t you?” he sneered, “that’ll be a tough one.”

RETURN TO RADIO DREAM STREAM LAND!
COUCH TOUR: LARRY CAMPBELL/TERESA WILLIAMS with JORMA KAUKONEN, FUR PEACE STATION, 11 SEPTEMBER 2021
Jorma Kaukonen’s Quarantine Concerts were a fixture of 2020 (which ran from April 2020 to mid 2021). It was perfectly easy and indeed welcome to turn on YouTube and watch a guitar role model show his craft and humanity with songs and stories and family every single week.
He has gotten back on the road some and there have been students at the guitar camp. But with the Delta spike, what would have been a regular concert for students and season ticket holders became another visit to “radio dream stream land.” That’s what FPR Manager and Jorma collaborator John Hurlbut described in wonder the magic of the series, a series on which he would usually do a couple of songs with his pal playing acoustic lead guitar which resulted in two albums.
The way to get a live, in real time link was to write Hurlbut and then actually talk to him to give a credit card number. The hominess of FPR continued and it was fun to talk to someone whose fame is simply that he’s a good guy whose best friend and boss’s husband is a very unpretentious rock star.
This wasn’t a Quarantine Concert as there weren’t questions and stories, but the community was there in the chat and Jorma maintains his down to earth-ness. He had to get up and walk to his guitar case to get a capo for Broken Highway, the second song.
He played a crisp 45 minute/8 song set which skewed toward the early days. Trouble in Mind to open with That’ll Never Happen No More, Whinin’ Boy Blues, Death Don’t Have No Mercy, and a Been So Long closer. I take stabs at all of those but Whinin’ Boy so it was, as always, a bit of a lesson though his playing, always beyond me, gets richer and richer. His singing benefited from being off the road for a year but performing once a week for a year and I observed a bit of a step back last night. But what a gift to have Jorma again.
This was a Larry Campbell/Teresa Williams show and they delivered a properly roots/Americana show. Campbell synthesized all those skills in extended gigs in the bands of Bob Dylan, Phil Lesh, and Levon Helm. That’s quite a pedigree. I also treasure his album Rooftops, solo instrumental guitar of trad tunes he worked out on the Dylan Never Ending Tour bus. He did O’Carolan’s Blind Mary from that album last night; it was a little rusty but still great.
Williams is awfully good with a strong Nashville voice brought to bear on their own songs, blues songs, and oldies like Ophelia (done every night with Helm but given a Piedmont rag arrangement) and Darlin’ Be Home Soon (with a story about how John Sebastian and his wife brought Campbell soup when he had COVID early on and Williams wasn’t able to be with him). She pinned the Nashville angle by talking about being with her folks as a caregiver for her father’s Alzheimer’s. Saturday night is once again to watch the Opry country stars of our shared youth now in reruns.
Their last tune in common was Rev. Gary Davis’s Samson and Delilah and then Jorma came out for another song the Grateful Dead etc covered, Johnny Cash’s Big River with swapped guitar solos. They also did Davis’s Let’s Get Together Right Down Here and Keep Your Lamps Trimmed and Burning (another one of Jorma’s repertoire I manage). Those three from Davis and Jorma’s Death Don’t Have No Mercy are an appropriate tribute to that giant.
They closed the night with Doc and Rosa Lee Watson’s Your Long Journey. I don’t know it, but it’s a good way to end things both thematically and because it’s Doc. The FPR hominess was there as a guitar camp student in the audience loaned him a flat pick.
Campbell who can play everything, just played guitar (and accept for a blond Martin, probably in DADGAD, for the O’Carolan) and a smaller Orchestra model type Flammang at that. No fiddle, cittern, nor pedal steel. He’s brilliant and, like Jorma, a treasure. So is Williams, but I remain always a guitar geek about the playing.
And that’s what the Fur Peace Ranch offers. It was good to be back.

Doom Patrol #4
This cover is trying too hard to be incomprehensible.
Death metal bands in the Doom Patrol universe seem to have a common theme.
• Lucius is a fifteen year old sorcerer who feels like a nobody and has Daddy and Mommy Issues! Sounds perfect for the Doom Patrol! • Meanwhile, Cliff and Larry have touched the face of N'ihil (or whatever the Lord of Negative Entity Land is called) and entered into the negative courtroom where they'll be tried for their negative crimes. Man, I would be so guilty of negative crimes! • Double meanwhile, Casey and Fugg have found themselves in Space Jail (Casey's words...although they probably would have been mine as well if she hadn't called it that so quickly). There they meet the Niles Caulder Robot that Niles Caulder made during last issue's Intermission (there won't be an Intermission this issue because I've already skipped it. Niles met a dog or something. Also, he was watching Casey through his robot's eyes). They also meet Ricardo, the friend of Danny's who has been searching for him so he can warn Danny that he's about to be invaded by an Evil Fast Food Franchise. They easily escape Space Jail using Casey's new powers which she luckily discovers just in time to escape. • Back at Negative Court, Larry Trainor pleads "Make me Negative Man again." And so the court is all, "Cool! Way to be a good guy! You're a true hero, unlike some ex-racecar drivers who hate to be called by their superhero alias and are constantly going on about not being able to have a normal life, one of which might be in this room and listening to me and rolling his robot eyes.
So every time he lets the Negative Spirit loose, he'll get an extra Picard lifetime?! Awesome!
• Back in Vectra Space Jail, Casey and company discover Danny the Ambulance hooked up to a meat grinder so all of the people living inside of him can instantly be turned into fast food hamburger when he expels them. Casey finally realizes that maybe she shouldn't be upset about the way Danny created her. Although I'm still upset about the way my mom and dad created me. How dare they! I could have remained nonexistent and happy! Well, maybe not happy, but ignorant of existential terror. Well, maybe not ignorant, as I would never have existed to feel anything whatsoever. My father wearing a condom on that particular Christmas morning would have been the greatest Christmas gift of all time! • To try to bond with Casey, Danny tells her about the last time he tried to evade evil people who would exploit him and how he was destroyed then as well. All that was left that time was Danny the Brick. And that brick was saved by...oh. Oh my. I'm having the tears.
My dear, dear Crazy Jane!
• I bet they completely drop the "crazy", society being the thing full of scolds that it is today. • Danny went on space adventures with Jane until one day, they met a person who was only a white silhouette in a red cape. That person befriended them...up to a point. Eventually the friendship ended the way all friendships tend to end: one friend bashes somebody's brains out with the other friend. After that, Danny lost touch with Jane. • Casey accepts her role as the hero Space Case so that she can save Danny the World. But to do that, they need to do a little bit of time traveling. That's because Danny the World has already become burgers. • After Casey drives Danny the Ambulance away through space, it is revealed that her current nemesis is Torminox! He was also created by Danny to be Space Case's archenemy. He doesn't seem to mind that Space Case is getting away and might stop the whole Evil Fast Food Franchise thing because he has some other plan up his sleeve. It's probably super complicated. It definitely involves a synthetic being! The Ranking! +1! This version of Doom Patrol has my full approval! Although that could change at any moment! I'm one fickle motherfucker.

#9 Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook
Gary Vaynerchuk
Though it might be the same story, you’ll need to tell it differently to a group of executives vs. a group of your friends. The term means to give, give, give, and then ask.

#12 The New Solution Selling
Keith M. Eades
To know where you’re going means you need to know where you came from. This is the update to Mike Bosworth’s early 90’s classic, Solution Selling.
Applying a sales methodology to your selling gives you a tried and true advantage, and enables you to plan your work and work your plan. Among the popular methodologies, this happens to be a favorite. It uses the formula PPVVC=S (Pain x Power x Vision x Value x Control = Sale) to help salespeople accurately gauge the probability of closing a deal.
Other legendary methodologies include:
SPIN Selling (Neil Rackham)
Strategic Selling (Robert Miller, Stephen Heiman….sound familiar?)

#13 The First 90 Days

This book is a road-map for leaders starting in a new organization. Time is critical in the first 90 days, and the faster you can reach “the breakeven point,” where you become a contributor of value vs. a consumer of value, the better.
Watkins provides real-world scenarios, several potential approaches, and different types of dialogue, to help you anticipate and prepare for any situation in your new environment.

It’s inevitable. You’re going to have difficult conversations – with senior leaders, with sales reps, with prospects and customers. Of course, most of us want to prevent these talks or avoid them altogether.

Sales trainer and coach, Art Sobczak, shares “dumb mistakes,” most salespeople say in the first 10 seconds of their calls; and offers new, better approaches to ensure you engage people on the phone vs. spilling info about you, your company, and your product all over them.

#17 The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
Stephen Covey
I attended a leadership conference in the early 2000’s, and Dr. Covey was the keynote speaker. He had us stand up, cover eyes, and point to where we thought was north. He then asked everyone to keep pointing while they uncovered their eyes. Everyone was pointing in a different direction.
In order to influence an organization of any size to head in the same direction, everyone must develop fundamental habits – like seeking first to understand before you’re understood. This book is a masterpiece in how to become highly effective in everything you do.
