14- what’s your worst writing habit?

According to whom? If I go by all the writing advice onthe web, I should say "editing as I write". Like no, I can't keep of drafting if I see a typo two lines above what I'm writing, and if I go back and see something doesn't check, I need to fix it before I continue (unless it's, like, having to write a whole extra scene, in which case I do use a placeholder.)

In terms of what I consider a bad habit of mine, it's how easily I get distracted and sucked into rabbitholes not related to the thing I'm writing.

My husband would probably say I type too loudly 😆Sorry I'm so old I learned with a manual typewriter

51-share the synopsis of a story you work on that you haven’t published yet

Hmmm I don't know if I want to reveal much yet... it's arumika set after canon and before the events of my fic Not a Pirate. They will have to navigate a situation that shakes the basis of their relationship.

I may have made that sound deeper than the fic is sorry.

I've also one set right after the RtS which I was this close to putting up on AO3 but decided against it at the last minute bc the last part of it will likely go as a flashback in the first one I mentioned. I'll see.

55-do you have any abandoned WIP’s? What made you abandon them?

I prefer the term "in permanent hiatus" 🙈

I wrote about 600 words of a RM royal AU about 2 years back but I couldn't find the inspo to continue. I tried to adapt an original plotbunny of mine into AoT fanfic but I can't seem to get into it enough. Plus, I was in the middle of writing Clarity and my priority was (and still is) that universe. I'm not sure if I'll ever go back to it - or whether I'll ever write it as the original story. (weirdly enough, though I came with the idea before getting into the AoT fandom and more specifically rivamika, the main pair had an age gap and he was shorter then her.)

75-do you know how your story ends before you start writing?

Usually, yes. I don't really sit to write a story unless I know how I want it to end. Whenever I've dived into a story without having the ending clear, I've lost inspiration in no time.

However, knowing the end does not, unfortunately, keep me from losing inspiration/interest/faith from time to time. Especially if there are things that aren't clear in the middle too. That's the problem for instance with my current "on permanent hiatus" original story. I'm very satisfied with the start and I know how the ending should play, but I don't know how to solve the moddle without making it too boring or making it look like the end came from nowhere. It bugs me bc this was is to be the final story in a series of 4, and I don't want to leave it as a series of 3... Sorry, I'm rambling.

It might not be bad to just be honest and leave Elegy 1.0 up and add a chapter at the end going "discontinued and rewritten but it's going to be different than what maybe you thought it would be the first time because I have engaged in The Thinking and I'm writing for me at the end of the day and here are my thinky thoughts about why i want to go this direction."

Because at the end of the day writing is for you baby! And it's still technically AGSZC. That relationship can still have happened. It just might end up not working out, which is a FAR more nuanced take than most fics go.

It's always your decision at the end of the day and god knows i love strifentine. Make ur heart happy

leaving elegy 1.0 up would mean dealing with my eternal shame being public forever 😆😆😆

i just still feel like i'm shoving mismatched puzzle pieces together except i just need to like. turn them around a few times and then they'd fit perfectly. if that makes sense. five lil puzzle pieces each labeled w an initial

also, off topic, but i find it very amusing that every ask uses a different permutation of their initials. idk. it's weirdly cute

Hey 👋 just wanna talk about last night eps (warning: it's a long one)

Med: that scene where the cardiac surgeon headbutts Crockett, it just made me laugh so hard, it was so sudden and unexpected 😂

Fire: Kidd with her lieutenant jacket and her lieutenant shirt 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 that's all i ever wanted. I'm sad Brett is leaving (tho i saw it coming) and I'm really gonna miss Kara, for however long her break is. I hope we get some scenes with the team missing Sylvie cuz she didn't have a lot of screen time lately (just want them to show Kara some love, even if it's just a goodbye scene). Also, I'm simply bored of the OFI storyline, i didn't even cared about the case last night; they need to let it rest for a while

PD: i was on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. The way they showed Kim's feelings, how overwhelmed she was, with that camera work, the blurred vision, the muffled conversation of the team - amazing! -. Kev having Kim and Adam's back, so supportive and reassuring them they'll find Mak, that's the friendship we love and I'm glad they made sure to show it to us. Kim saying "where's my daughter?" with so much self-confidence, and Mak calling Kim "Mom" 😢😢. The moment Platt arrived to the building and went straight to Kim i almost cried cuz her first priority was to make sure she was okay. And the fact that Kim told Adam Mak was her daughter, how hurt Ruz looked, i just know that conversation isn't over.

To put it in a few words: loved PDs episode last night, it was exciting, full of adrenaline, so emotional!! And Marina and Paddy delivered really powerful performances 👏🏻👏🏻

Hi!!! I literally never get long asks ever so this is fun:

Med: I caught the last 20 ish minutes of Med and it was so worth seeing Crockett get head-butted because it was weirdly so funny. The guy thought he did something with that but overall it was just hilarious.

Fire: I didn't know how much I needed to see Stella Kidd with a Lieutenant Jacket until I did, and it was literally glorious. Our girl is running her own team now and it feels so right for her.

We saw how much being away from Casey is really affecting Brett even though she's put up a good front; it was naturally going to come crashing down at some point. I hope going to spend real quality time with him is what she needs because the woman looked so sad. I loved that Violet and Stella were so supportive and were there for her because that trio is so amazing. Women supporting women is something so important to me so I was really glad to see it.

I think the OFI case was fine, I don't really have any strong feelings on it either way other than I don't really mind it all that much?? Other than the fact that Seager just annoys me because they've taken her character which had real potential into just fawning over Kelly Severide every chance she gets. I want to like her, but the writers need to give her something new and different, enough of this already.

Also, Squad 3 trying to get a boot on Cap's bald ass head??? The comedic highlight of the season right there, and honestly one of my favorites ever. I have watched it no less than 15 more times and I die laughing without fail.

PD: Oh where do I start with this... That episode was a doozy, even though we kind of knew this I wasn't prepared to feel every emotion Kim and Adam were feeling for a solid hour. The crew really did a fantastic job on this one by making the camera work mimic the feelings they were going through and it 100% made us the viewers feel more connected. That Burgwater moment made me cry because those two have such a tight bond that it hurt so much. When Mak called her "Mom" I seriously had my mouth hanging open and I could not believe it. The look when Kim realizes what she just said???? Priceless.

I'm positive that Burzek is in some real trouble. The way that their relationship ebbed and flowed within one hour was kind of astounding. To being each other's rock, to screaming at each other in frustration and fear, and then sitting on Makayla's bed silently communicating everything they couldn't say out loud. By the end, you could see the guilt seeping out of Adam, and I think that's why he walks away. He lead with his heart instead of his head, it could have ended badly, and now he feels like he's not good enough for both of them. Kim and Adam have a lot of talking to get through this because there is no way this isn't going to be an uphill battle.

Cut it short. A lot of guys like short hair. It's your own fault for listening to those people. Do whatever you want and stop blaming other people and society for your own insecurities

This is such a weird response though I can’t help but laugh. Was this meant to be encouraging or just weirdly aggressive? 😆

I’m just expressing myself, stranger. No need to go on the offensive. Go have a snack or get some fresh air if you can. Always helps me chill out.

Pretty weird how you got ‘blaming society’ out of this, since I could point to all the actual people in my life who’ve said the things I mentioned. If anything it’s like 98% my own grandmother. Society as a gestalt is way more chill about women with short hair than my immediate family is.

As far as insecurities go I’d like to end by offering my other middle finger to people who tell me ‘cut it short’ while I keep the first one trained on the ‘leave it long’ crowd. I couldn’t even care less if anybody likes it either way, and I never said I was listening to anybody-- but as you’ve personally demonstrated these stupid opinions are too obnoxious to block out completely. I guess that was the point I was getting at. I wish I didn’t have to keep thinking about it at all, but people keep bringing it up, so here I am-- still thinking about it.

Thanks for sharing some of your favourite upbeat music. I'm a Harry Styles fan as well. I didn't think I knew who Olivia Rodrigo was, but when I looked her up, I realized I had heard a bunch of her music, and recognized her from an appearance on Saturday Night Live. I too spend the majority of my life listening to Noah Reid, but I do have a workout mix with an embarassing amount of late 90s/early 2000s hip hop on it. A current pump me up song that is also more in line with my current musical taste is Knocking At The Door by Arkells.

So a couple of food and drink related questions for you. What's your favourite beverage (I'm thinking alcoholic, but if you don't drink, non-alcoholic is just fine), what are your favourite snack foods, and if you're eating trail mix, what are you picking out to eat and what are you leaving in the bowl? 😆

I’m so sorry it took me so long to respond! It was a decent weekend, but too short as usual. I’ve been enjoying watching the Olympic coverage though! Not sure if that’s something you pay attention to? 🇨🇦

Oooh I’m even more excited if I’ve read your work before as everything I’ve read in the fandom has been most excellent and this has certainly piqued my curiosity!

You mentioned your current music taste and Arkells - do you generally prefer rock/indie/alternative music? Though your workout mix sounds awesome - after reveals maybe you can share it with me!!

I definitely do drink - though it’s hard to pick a favourite! I really enjoy a glass of Riesling 🍷 but I also really enjoy beer and mixed drinks and everything else. What’s your favourite alcoholic beverage if you have one? (so I know what to treat you to if our paths ever cross!). I also have a Coke Zero addiction. 😂

I also love junk food so I like most snack foods - I weirdly really enjoy plain ruffles or chips, though there’s plenty of flavours I enjoy too. The trail mix question made me laugh because I am a serial “picker outer” 🤣🤣🤣 - though I’ve gotten better at not doing it as much. I’m not a huge almond fan (unless it’s covered in chocolate!).
