Anthony Padilla as a fallen angel, based on 'Le génie du mal' by Guillaume Geefs.
There's that picture of Anthony as an angel from back then, that was my inspiration. I thought "What if he recreated that picture in his current look? Mh, white isn't it tho, I think black would suit him better", and this idea was born. Haha nooo don't do a phoshoot based on this noo hahah that'd be so sillyyy hahah.... unless...? 👉👈

Hmmm... The resemblance isn't exact, but it's definitely close enough...

New drawing in my sketchbook, inspired by Le génie du mal, classic sculptures by Geefs brothers, Guillaume and Joseph. I think I may paint full oil painting based on this drawing...

Timelapse: Anthony Padilla as a fallen angel.
This was a bit of a challenge, first of all because of the tattoos. They look so cool, I really hope I did them justice. Secondly because I chose to paint this monochrome and I wasn't sure how the finished work would look. I think it turned out pretty good, though! 🥰

everyone’s like bi-han is actually fully evil!!! or bi-han is actually secretly good!!!!! but no one is like bi-han is actually the embodiment of giving into temptation and though he is parallel to lucifer (similar in inevitable descent into darkness and resentment towards god) he was also tempted by another devil in the form of a snake to eat the fruit and he bit it and it tasted like freedom he’s longed for. he’s human in desire to disobey he’s lucifer in desire to rebel he’s straying further and further away from the heavenly garden and he mistakes the hellish roar of darkness for the sound of divine autonomy

Copia as Le génie du mal by Guillaume Geefs
Part 2 of 2 of this exciting commission - I had planned to draw Copia as this statue for years because of how similar their faces are; to be able to do it as a commission was fantastic. Thank you so much!
