Cuando una persona se involucra con otra encuentra lo bueno y lo malo de la otra persona y, en el fondo, se encuentra a sí misma, toda una experiencia, desde el éxtasis del amor hasta la tristeza del desamor. Freud sugirió que "el no obtener lo que uno quiere es a veces un golpe de suerte", posiblemente señalando que en el dolor del desamor hay lecciones valiosas. today i sent a "risky" text - one that essentially told some of my friends that i'd been feeling a little hurt by them and wanting to check and make sure everything is okay.
and after sending the text, im going thru a whirlwind of emotions - i keep wanting to cry and throw up. and now i'm wondering why?
Did L really have such an impact on me? sure, it was a pattern that was probs more salient bc it happened during adolescence, when my social rewards system was so sensitive that the idea of being the drama was too frightening so that i learned to just keep my mouth shut (at my own expense - hurting in silence isn't always better...)
and am i the one who is letting her continue to impact me? It's been 10 years since that time, and I still think of her and what she said in all those situations. But she's not in my life anymore. I (wisely) pruned that relationship. so why is the ghost of her gaslighting still haunting me?
Laura was right, I'm coming at this from a place of wanting to talk about and fix things - so why am i scared? there shouldn't be any negative repercussions to carefully and sensitively mentioning what i feel and that i'd like to work together to not feel that way? of course, i dont want to make anyone feel too negatively (dont want to pull an ivett) either - but i don't think that is what is contributing to my anxiety.
so now i ask - did you do anything wrong on PURPOSE? no. and now you're just checking to make sure they also didn't do anything purpose. and if they say, no of course we're good - you can just take their word for it. bc you don't know what is going on in their lives and in their heads.
you did the right thing about trying to fix something - bc it's scary and it's hard and it's the brave thing to do instead of the easy out of just letting that friendship go.
you shouldn't feel scared of what will happen. you should feel proud that you had the guts and the love for them to do something about it. and if they cannot see that, then laura's right - it isn't on you, it's on them. if they don't know you well enough to know that you genuinely want to be sure you're okay, then they weren't that good of friends to begin with. and if you lose them, that's okay - you have other friends and you'll make new ones.
i love you now, i love you ten years ago, and i'll love you in an hour or tomorrow or whenever you open their texts. because you didn't (purposely) do anything to hurt others and you did everything with a loving heart and mind. and you have to believe that, because of that, everything will be okay.

…Cosi per continuare in questo mio impegno, per dimostrare che la reclusione non mi ha impedito di dedicare del tempo a quello che l’arte mi ha dato e mi da, ho deciso di fare una mostra di Arte Contemporanea in questo minuscolo spazio. Esponendo 260 opere di grande e piccole dimensioni di ben 111 artisti della Collezione Privata Correnti-Ripari. L’inaugurazione è prevista per giorno 18 aprile alle ore 18:00 con una breve diretta. Nei giorni successivi vi faremo visitare virtualmente l’evento, pubblicando nella pagina foto e brevi video.
