Ok, but autistic!Tango who doesn't understand a literal thing that everyone assumes is Common Knowledge, and probably is honestly, and he can tell that he doesn't Get It, but that it's Common Knowledge, and now he's suddenly afraid to ask a question, because he did the same thing in middle school and was bullied from then on all the way through high school, until coming to Samwell, and it's why he went to a college Far Away from home.
Lardo notices his small frown, the pinch in his eyebrows.
She waits until there's a moment with just them and looks at him and goes "It's a pop culture reference. From (Insert pop culture show/movie/book)."
Tango's lip wibbles, but he doesn't cry, and his eyes stay dry, but his voice cracks when he quietly says "Thank you."
Lardo shrugs, says no problem, but asks him why he didn't ask.
He admits he didn't get a reference to Captain America, of all things, in middle school, and got bullied until he moved to go to Samwell.
Lardo tells him to not ever worry about that: of the boys' chirping makes him feel bad, she'll handle it. He just needs to ask.
Tango asks Lardo things he genuinely doesn't get but knows is probably "common knowledge" for the rest of the year.
She answers everything, and if she somehow also doesn't know, she tells him, and they ask Ransom, who usually always knows.
But she also notices that Tango is smart, and is a pretty decent artist himself, and what is that very detailed bug you drew holy shit??
And Tango proceeds to infodump on her about this bug because he's been obsessed with not just that one, but all bugs, since he was 4.
And that's how Lardo learns her frog is a Biology Major and wants to study bugs.
And then whenever Tango asks her something, a bit worried he's being dumb about whatever he's asking, Lardo asks a question about a bug. Any bug. She asked about caterpillars and Tango got so excited and talked to her about it for almost an hour before Holster came downstairs, heard, and went "what the fuck, gross."
Lardo shouted "You're gross, asshole! This is fucking cool!"
Because it was.
She tells Foxtrot there's a mandatory "ask Tango about a bug at least twice a week" clause to her new job, and Foxtrot goes "weird but ok".
The first time Foxtrot does it sophomore year, Tango gets so excited that he nearly knocks her down.

I really want to know what Lardo was thinking when she chose to be the manager of the hockey team.
Like young freshman frog Larissa who’s still trying to figure herself out as maybe artsy and alternative - but not entirely feeling herself there either, so she turns to managing hockey for what? Money? Shits and kicks? Social experiment? And this spur of the moment decision finds her with some hockey players who are mostly dumbasses but some of them are cool and yeah, she’s gonna stick around for a bit until she gets bored or they reveal themselves as raging douchebags - but that little bit turns into four years and a hockey nickname and a bunch of idiots who feel like home and family.

samwell bridge, 11:11pm
“Whoa, whoa, Cam, we gotta stop here,” Lardo says as they reach the bridge. “The lighting is fucking wicked right now.”
“You know, sometimes I forget you hang out with a bunch of jocks on the regular – and then you say stuff like that.”
Lardo lowers her camera, unimpressed. “Cam. Cammy. Camilla. You’re a jock.”
“Oh, right.”
The look on her face makes Lardo burst out in laughter. “Shit, we’re both so high right now.”
“Eh, season’s over for me.”
“Eh?” Lardo teases.
Camilla pretends to look haughty, but ends up closer to amusement. “Some things stick with you. I heard that wicked you dropped earlier.”
“I’m from Boston! What’s your excuse?”
“Dated a moose once,” Camilla says promptly. She manages to keep a straight face for all of two seconds before breaking in the face of Lardo’s hysterical laughter. It’s one of those moments where neither of them can stop, each time they catch sight of the other girls’ face it sets them off again.
Finally, somehow sitting on the ground using the railing as a back rest, Lardo gets herself under control. She pats the ground next to her and Camilla plops down at once, resting her head on her shoulder, still hiccuping occasionally. Lardo tips her own head to rest on top of Camilla’s and looks around, content. The clock tower is just visible from this position and she nudges Camilla gently.
“Hey, it’s eleven-eleven, make a wish Cam.”
“Nah.”
“Why not?”
Camilla curls even further into Lardo’s side. “Got everythin’ I could want already.”
“Oh.” Lardo drops a kiss to the top of Camilla’s head and then looks up, taking in the stars. Now that she thinks about it, she doesn’t need a wish, either.
