Lan Yuan ignored his parents talking, probably too used hearing them, taking a step before giving up for a moment, looking at his feet almost in confusion. He tried again, letting go of the coffee table and wobbling before taking another step to his diedie’s direction and falling on his butt when taking his third step alone.
Lan Wangji really thought he was ready to experience this, but he couldn’t predict his own reaction, no matter how many books he read.
His eyes teared up and he was quick to hug his son to his chest, too many emotions flowing through his body. Lan Yuan was obviously against being held, shaking his chubby legs so his baba knew to put him down. Wei Wuxian laughed, putting away his phone after filming everything and walking to his favorite boys to hug them and give lots of kisses to A-Yuan’s face, who squealed in happiness.
“We’re so proud of you! Look at your baba, he’s so happy he’s crying!” Wei Wuxian teased softly “I love you both so much.”

in honor of lan zhan day here are some fluffy hcs !
lan zhan and wwx are actually fans of flowers, and so begin to garden their own little flower garden that they tend to !
teaching juniors is rather tiring, but it always feels worth it when lan zhan comes back to the jingshi to rest in wwxs excited and loving arms (*´∇｀*)
wwx and sizhui taught lan qiren and lxc how to make flower crowns ! they work tgt for lan zhans birthday to make the bestest and grandest and prettiest flower crown in all of china, just for him !!
it is only on lan zhans bday that sizhui becomes less shy abt calling lan zhan his a-die ! lan zhans heart nearly explodes every year when sizhui comes to him with a soft smile and greets, "happy birthday, a-die ☺️💗"
every birthday, wwx invents a new talisman just for lan zhan. its always very silly things, like emitting honking noises or releasing suspicious donkey odor. wwx says its to entertain lan zhan during the boring sect meetings. lan zhan never uses them in said meetings for the sake of professionalism, but he does always end up secretly pranking other lans with the talismans whenever he feels like it. of course, he gets away with it everytime, because who would believe that hanguang-jun of all ppl was the one who had hidden the terrible-singing talisman in the library?
