LAITO APPRECIATION WEEK 2022 DAY 1

Five Thing's I Like About Laito:

As it is the thing that made me fall in love with him first, I would say his humor. Even when I hated his guts, he always made me laugh. Opening up with calling Yui "Bitch-Chan" took me by suspired and all I could do was laugh, like who does that?(He was my fav from that moment, until he fucked it up). Adding to this, his dub is like the cherry on top. His just fucking sarcastic I love it.

His complex personality. The fact that you can look so deep into his personality is such a cool and interesting thing, and such good writing. Saying this as well, the unknowing if you looking too deep into his words, and he means what he says is such a ride that I haven't had with another character before.

How scary he is. Now, that might sounds weird to say but, the switch of character he does he just so cool and gives me the chills every time. Adding to this, it hits you with reality and gives you peep into his true self in a way. This dude is far from happy go lucky and his dark undertones really come to light in that split moment his voice drops.

How smart this bitch is. I like smart men, what can I say? But I was- I wouldn't say surprised, it made sense he was smart, I was more like "Oh? So he is smart". He is two steps ahead of you and I love it, not so much when he is messing with my head but I still am impressed either way lol. His smartness came to light to me when I got into the CD's and it was like a light blub moment(pun not intended) to understanding him more.

His little drops of kindness. I know I just said how scary and how much of a manipulator he is, but hear me out. There are times in the games, CD's that make me go "Wow, he isn't all that bad". He remembered Yui's birthday, there is this time in Shuu's Dark Fate route he helps Yui destress by getting her mind off what's going on, by bring up how Shuu was as a kid. He looked after his brothers when they was younger. He was so selfless, not wanting to bring them into the mess that he hurt himself. Laito gives off such big brother energy that not a lot of people talk about. Look how he was towards Kanato in the Young Blood manga, always looking out for him.

LAITO APPRECIATION WEEK (May 15th-May 21st) 2022 OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

Hi guys!! Another year, another week dedicated to Laito!!

If you don’t know me, I’m Corn! I’m typically known for my Laito analyses in the fandom, but last year I hosted a Laito appreciation week! So I’m gonna make this a yearly thing :)

Yes, I know Laito’s birthday is in March, but I’m a full time college student with a part time job so its really hard for me to be consistent during the semester. But I’m free from this semester as of last week, and ironically it’s around the second year anniversary of this blog (May 16th)! I’ll be hitting the 1000 follower milestone (holy shit wtf) this summer so what better way to give back to this community more and celebrate than to host another appreciation week??

This year, I am co-hosting with my lovely friend @novampirebrainrot (Deia) who is an absolutely amazing artist, and we became friends last year through the previous Laito appreciation week! So I thought it was fitting :) Send her some love as well, she’s just such a cool person!

ANYWAYS! Laito Appreciation Week will start on Sunday, May 15th, and will end on Saturday, May 22nd. Please feel free to reblog and spread the message! I hope this will be as fun as last year’s!

To prepare everyone for the themes, I am releasing them right now! Posts can be drawings, creative prose, quotes, your own words, moodboards, etc! Go ham! Have fun! Be creative! (or shitposty! I always love a good meme!)

Day 1

5 things I like about Laito

1. Obviously, his looks.

When you look at his face you realize how playful, maybe carefree he is, yet his eyes look mistrerious. And that's the biggest "magnet" in him, this contrast between his "shalowly-mischievous" personality and the gaze which talks to you: " I know. I know everything you don't."

Like...

Attractive mystery.

And obviously the design itself is great (I mean, all characters design in DL games, not the anime hahaha, are great. )

2. The personality conflict.

Do I really need to explain how fascinating it is to watch Laito struggles with his own self? But don't think I'm a sadist I genuinely feel bad for him, but man, it's so interesting to watch the full way of character's realizing how far he'd gone with those lies to himself...

It's seems like he's completely lost sometimes?

3. Attitude towards Yui.

Yes, be calls her Bitch-chan, which is annoying but ITS NOT THAT BAD...

The way Yuma, Ruki, Ayato (and sometimes Shu) call her just kills me...

So I really like the way Laito treats her, though it's embarrassing.

Also I guess he hadn't shared his opinion about Yui's body. I mean, other guys would say that she's looking like a middle schooler, some of them would just say "she's flat" or smth and that's kinda offensive.

I'm not saying Laito is sane and he'd never ever said such to her, but I'm sure it wasn't in such amount as others did...

4. HE IS FUNNY AS F.CK

Whenever he appears (his own routs or his bros routes) he either creates funny situations and give chills, idk.

I can't say who else has the same funky charm...

Anyways, anytime he appears I'm ready to smile uncontrollably

5. His relationship with other characters, not only with his brothers. He's kinda...

Sweet with them? Especially if we're talking about Laito in the big brother role.

For instance the sub scenario with him in Azusa's route in Vandead Carnival, also attitude Laito has to Kanato or Subaru, he's the type giving advice, and sort of... caring? Idk that's so nice of him...

She didn’t have an issue with admitting it but saying it out loud felt so… weird. Those were things she’d usually never tell anyone else.

"Out of everyone so far, you’re the one touching me the most…"

It didn’t seem like much of a complaint but a statement. She made no move to remove his hand from her body. It wasn’t that bad.

"Uh… I was wondering, what does blood taste like to vampires…?"

Shu bit back a laugh, wanting to call you out and tease you for saying so, but didn't.

Laito had seemingly gotten closer to you both, kneeling on the floor only inches away from the couch you both were on. To Shu, Laito was a little closer than he'd prefer, but it wasn't anything completely unexpected. He chose to ignore his brother, who, annoyingly enough, at least for the eldest, was close enough to Shu where it allowed him to get a better view of you.

In fact, like Laito had been doing since the beginning of this entire event that was happening, he invited himself into the conversation and answered before Shu could even think.

Laito: "So curious! You're so cute~ Nfu, I'm interested in hearing what you think it tastes like to us, Bitch-chan."

Shu: "I guess. ..To answer you, vampire tastes can vary from vampire to vampire. It also depends on a bunch of other factors, like age, for example. If you're really curious, you're better off asking someone else. I can't be bothered to explain it."

Laito: "Ah~ I believe you and I both know who he's suggesting~ Fufu, another 'factor' Shu-kun left out would be 'purity'. As well as lots and lots of other beautiful things~"

Yui: ( Speaking of flavor, I don’t think Ayato-kun has ever told me anything about his favorite. He would probably say Takoyaki but a Takoyaki cake… that doesn’t feel right. )

Cake shop owner: Wonderful! We just finished a raspberry cake a few minutes ago!

Yui: ( It truly looks delicious…! Besides, it’s red as well, which is Ayato-kun’s favorite color, so I believe he would truly like this one! )

Kanato: Alright, we’ll take it!

Place: Mansion

Yui: Phew, I’m glad the cake didn’t get crushed on the way.

Kanato: It’s time to eat!

Yui: Wha—! No, Kanato-kun, you can’t!

Kanato: Excuse me, but who do you think you are? This is my cake, therefore I’m allowed to eat it whenever I want!

Yui: W-Well, don’t you want to wait for Ayato-kun too? This way, you two will be able to eat it together like bro—!!

(He pushed me in the cake!?)

Kanato-kun, why did you do this!?

Kanato: You ruined the cake!

Yui: Me!? But Kanato-kun was the one who pushed me there!

Kanato: Teddy says you’re annoying, and I agree. Now how will you fix your mistakes?

Yui: That’s not the only thing I’m sorry about…

If it weren’t for my carelessness, you would have gotten a nice birthday, but now… you don’t even have a cake anymore.

Ayato: Hey, c’mon that’s not worth the tears. I’m a vampire, remember? I don’t care about my birthday, so there’s no need to worry about such stuff.

Yui: Maybe you don’t care about it but… I do. I know that I’m about to sound selfish, but your birthday is very special to me. It represents the day you were born and I… I simply can’t imagine not celebrating it.

Ayato-kun is important to me, therefore that automatically makes his birthday important to me too.

Ayato: You klutz…

Yui: W-Wha—! Ayato-kun…!

Ayato: Seriously, are all humans really that sentimental? Or does this only apply to cute girls like you?

Yui: …!

Ayato: The day’s still not over, y’know? There’s still time to celebrate it if you’re really that obsessed with it.

Yui: …! So, are you really okay with that?

Ayato: Yeah? If I weren’t, I would have told you, idiot. On top of that, it’s not like I got anything better to do anyway.

Now tell me, Chichinashi, what exactly do you have in store for today?

Yui: Hm… uhm… nothing comes to my mind at the moment, but for now… I can’t say I mind spending time like this with Ayato-kun.

Ayato: Heh~? You suddenly don’t mind being in my arms while naked?

Yui: P-Phrasing it like that…!

Ayato: Well, if that’s the case, then… you wouldn’t mind if I sucked your blood either, right?

Yui: Go ahead.

Ayato: Hah? No talking back? Are you really that easy to convince today? Or, could it be that you finally admit enjoying the pleasure these fangs give you?

Yui: It’s not only about your fangs, Ayato-kun. I really like you as a whole.

I wasn’t even able to find a gift for you, therefore giving you my blood is the least I can do.

Diaboy’s Christmas Dinner

Reji really tried. He did. Karl was supposed to be here too. But no. Nothing went as planned.

Yes Shu is too lazy to change into ugly christmas sweater so one of his bro pinned some paper saying “ugly Christmas sweater” on his back to his original clothes.

Only reason Kanato is here is cuz he was told there was gonna be sweets.

All the bois kinda mad that they had to do Christmas dinner cuz vampires don’t celebrate Jesus’ birthday for sure. But kinda forced to by Reji lmao

Laito telling how all the girls want to spend the Christmas night with him. Ayato getting mad cuz Laito got more than he does.

Kanato and Subaru agreeing for once about wanting to leave the table and yelling how stupid this dinner is.

Ruki also tried. And it’s not as bad as the Sakamaki’s for sure. All the bros appreciate it.

Except it always turns into a food fight between Yuma and Kou. Headaches for poor Ruki.

Yuma says he should get more food because the veggies came from his garden.

Kou says he should get more food cuz he is the only one who works and makes money to help in the family.

Ruki just wants to let them know that there’s more than enough for everyone. That’s all…

Azusa is quietly munching on the Christmas food like a good child should be.

Mukami bois buy ugly Christmas sweaters for each other. I’d say they did a great job.

Chaos filled the house of the six half-brothers as their new bride, human though she was, began to decorate the house. At first everyone had ignored it, Shu had tried to sleep through it, Reiji had given her a warning look, Ayato even held out a bowl of takoyaki dough to her and would even have been willing to share it with her.

Be it just a look, a smile or a brief touch. Even when she sank her fangs into her bride's body, there were gentle moments and permissive questions. But now she hadn't seen the boys since it snowed.

They seemed to have retreated into the shadows and whenever she came back from the town where she had bought new things, the villa was empty. "Christmas alone I'm happy" she thought with a sigh as she carried the sweet cake in her bag.

She knew that Kanato actually liked to eat it and yet once again no one seemed to be there when she walked through the big gate. Preparing herself to sit alone in front of a plate of chicken on Christmas Eve, she opened the door and closed it behind her.

But something was different. ,,Vanilla?" she murmured and looked around, surprised to see that lambs were hanging from the railings where she couldn't reach them, mistletoe was hanging from door frames and doorways and someone had baked cookies.

Venturing further, she placed the cake on the table in the living room. Suddenly felt a presence behind her and turned around. ,,You made this?" she asked in disbelief but full of joy and saw the six of them nodding.

Some had Christmas hats on while others had little badges in the shape of snowmen or reindeer. ,,Our blood deserves only the best".

Mukami :

Christmas was familiar to the four former humans. They all knew Christmas as the day of the year when love and joy in the family was most important. The community and being together was what mattered. The Mukamis, although not officially a family, had a bond that held them together and always would.

Together through the cruelty as humans that had been done to them, they had endured every day. But Christmas was the one day when all they remembered was the cold. How they could barely move their limbs.

Their clothes were so short that they feared their toes and fingers would freeze off in the morning. They associated Christmas with nothing but pain. In contrast to their Eva, the young human woman associated Christmas with humanity, warmth and devotion to love and family.

The sweetness of cookies and cakes as well as the hearty meat and the candles that lit everything up. The big green Christmas tree in the living room and the baubles that were hung on it together.

,,Please, you seem to mean it well, but this is just a torment for us," Ruki said and looked up from his book. Azusa seemed to want to hide behind his bandages, Kou looked deeper into his magazine and Yuma ate lots of pieces of sugar. None of them wanted to know anything about it.

A fact that she initially accepted, knowing only fragments of the pain the four of them had suffered and had to suffer to become what they were today. But in the end she didn't give up, they had to overcome their memories and her Eva would help the four of them.

With a lot of persuasion and overcoming, she finally got the four of them into the kitchen for a little rehearsal. Try making cookies as a team," she suggested and they all saw nothing but love and devotion in her smile.

Kou, with his ability, also checked this out and nodded slightly. What almost ended in an argument at first was a laugh between the four of them by the end of the day. Azusa had managed to make his cookies look like black coal.

Ruki's cookies looked perfect on the outside only to crumble on the inside, Kou had used too much sugar and Yuma's cookies had a hard inside but seemed to crumble on the outside. ,,This...isn't...necessarily...Christmas," Azusa mumbled and she put a hand on his shoulder, giving him an encouraging look before touching the other's hands.

She saw the realization in the others' eyes that behind all the laughter was understanding that it didn't have to be painful. ,,It's Christmas now," she said and the others agreed. Instead, they did a Christmas thing together every other day until in the end it was truly a Christmas full of joy and love for all of them at the Mukami house.

Tsukinami :

The two brothers knew a lot, they actually knew everything there was to know. They knew the importance of their destiny and the destiny of their wife.

They had learned a lot about the world of vampires and the bloodline during the time she was with them. In return, the three of them had developed a relationship based on love, not hate.

A love that could withstand a lot, be it Shin's temperament and feelings or Carla's illness Endzeit. They had endured a lot until one day their love told them about a human holiday.

,,Christmas Eve is a day of family and joy, forgiveness and coming together," she tried to explain and saw that Shin was already yawning and Carla seemed to be thinking. She even doubted that the two of them knew anything about Christmas.

When it came to similarities, they were a lot more different. ,,A holiday then," Carla murmured and she could see behind his bright eyes that he seemed to be thinking while Shin was probably thinking about it in his head.

She had no idea what else they would find out about this special day. Without her realizing it, the two of them tried to find out more and more as the future wife of the two of them, she deserved to experience this day in a special way.

Leaving everything they could find about it in books, it was Carla who made plans, Shin who gathered things together while keeping their mutual love happy to keep her away from the surprise.

A fraternal fall until the snow fell, the temperature seemed to drop even in the other world, and everything went according to the law of nature.

She was called out of her room by the two of them and she was worried that it was something bad. She had seen less and less of Carla and Shin always seemed to want to dissuade her from doing something. Before she stepped into the great hall, she was met by warmth coming from the fires in the fireplaces.

The crown lit up and from somewhere she heard classical music that seemed to dance around her and through the room like a light dance. ,,Welcome to your Christmas," Carla greeted his beloved and gave her a kiss on the back of the hand while Shin hugged his love and gave her a kiss on the cheek. ,,Can we get started?" the redhead asked, grinning at her before they both took her hands gently and began to move around the hall to the beat of the music.

LAITO APPRECIATION WEEK 2022 DAY 2

For this one I find hard to find. I do have one that comes to mind but like there are sooo many times that made me shook. Wait-

The time I found out what Cordelia did to Laito.

I had watched the anime as a joke first, and didnt pick up the real meaning of the scene with Laito and Cordelia before her dying. I just thought he felt left out because Ayato had all the attention and the "Love" was a mother and son love......how wrong I was. (like come on, it isn't the first thing I think lolol) But after finding out though researching Laito, I was shook asf. That showed me how dark the game/anime was, and peeked my interest more. This wasn't a normal otome game and held something I haven't came across before. The psychological horror aspects are really my cup of tea, and made me realise this otome had much more to offer. And becouse of this, I am in fandom and started my journey of trying to understand Laito.

♡ིྀ can’t unwind for long since she’s bothered by one of the brothers 6/7 days of the week

♡ིྀ but actually enjoys all the time she spends with the boys when they’re not draining her dry

♡ིྀ a really active member in the sakamaki household. looks for shu for dinner and has conversations with her while walking to the dining room, helps reiji clean in his lab (she’s hoping she can graduate to washing dishes soon), hypes up ayato to finish his homework, keeps laito company in the game room, listens to kanato talk about the process of making dolls, walks silently with subaru in the garden at night

♡ིྀ it’s starting to scare some of the brothers how she’s becoming a daily part of their day now.

♡ིྀ really takes care of her body. washes daily, body scrubs and body butters almost nightly or when she has the energy

♡ིྀ boys really can’t get enough of that whiff of strawberries and vanilla thats rubbed into her skin

♡ིྀ and definitely can’t get enough of how soft her skin is, girl gets manhandled nightly

♡ིྀ since laito dropped the bomb of, “yeah your father sold you here lol” she’s stopped looking to deep into her father’s disappearance

♡ིྀ doesn’t stop her from wondering if one day, he’ll change his mind and come save her. sometimes thinks she sees him from the corner of her eye and will just whip her head around in hopes of seeing him

♡ིྀ her dreams consist of their reunion again. maybe its why its so hard for her to wake up some days. and maybe its why her eyes look especially watery in the morning.
