kay kay kay kay so. watched the first six episodes of fire force. here are my unfiltered thoughts as you have to suffer through them.
SHINRA IS MY BABY BOY NOW ajsjks pls he is sooooo cute he gets all the kisses i wanna pinch his chubby cheeks he gets tiddie sucking privileges.
arthur gets a hate peg. good comedic relief, not my type tho but stuffing his mouth would be fun.
takehisa hinawa is the guy id take home to meet my parents. he gets my hand in marriage. we stan a dependable man.
maki is a goddess oh my god. can she bench press me??? please??? god she is so funny and hot i love her.
the captain (akitaru? smth like that) is fine too, not my cup of tea tho.
tamaki is already getting on my nerves and i hope i never have to see her shitty face ever again but as she is in the intro, i am afraid i will have to see her more often :’). god how can a character be this annoying she embodies the worst of everything. she can go die in a fire for sure lmao.
princess hibana? nah QUEEN HIBANA. i am but gravel at her feet, idk about others but she is right🤷‍♀️ kindaaaa getting the gay vibes from her and iris. that would be a fun threesome. i definitely need a tr setting where reader’s gang is like hibana’s harem lmao thats just perfect tbh.
speaking of iris, she is fine too but only like her in combination with queen hibana.
okay but calling it now already with no knowledge, the brother of shinra ain’t dead. “no bones were found” yep sounds like he got abducted by some dudes from prob the first squad and is now on the enemy’s side and we will see him fighting shinra. god i watch too much shows man.
overall very good i enjoy it a lot probably gonna continue watching it as i finish making my dreaded dinner.
went to the carwash on thursday and changed tires on friday and. the entire time. no bird poo. literally after i cleaned it in the night from thursday to friday? bird poo on top of my fugging roof. bc i cant have nice things smh
don’t mind me screaming about shinra imma be quiet already but fuck he is so adorable😭😭😭
ill prob send in more thoughts as i continue watching lolol

SHINRA IS BEST BOI AND SHINRA WILL ALWAYS BE BEST BOI LIKE IT'S JUST ILLEGAL TO NOT LIKE HIM 'M SORRY HE'S GOLD STAR STATUS BESTEST BOY FOREVER AND ALWAYS
not a plug but idk if you ever saw my shinra fic from the other blog, always a goldie even if it's an oldie
those be fighting words for the wife she adores Arthur (after ironically hating him, wow sounds like Kisaki 🙄) But also six episodes in is not a good rep of Arthur. Nor is just going off his relationship with Shinra. I'm not much of a "dumb rivals" trope kinda person so their constant bickering irritates me. But once you get Vulcan (the red head beefy guy w/tattoos) Arthur is better bc their friendship/relationship is so gay I love it (especially if you pick up the manga it's real gay)
hinawa always gives me a boner like that's the one I wanna ruin. I need to corrupt him. I need to stretch him. I need it
again, much like Shinra, I feel like it's illegal not to like Maki? Like if you dislike Maki are you just satan yourself? Big beefy woman who wants to be tiny and feminine but learns to love herself? Yes yes to all that we stan Maki here forever and always
obi (the captain) is that character that's very likable but I feel like every straight woman in a fandom with a shitty boyfriend like him. He's just hetero/straight girl bait that he's not my type either but I do like him and would like to work out with him
playing the devils advocate (as a manga reader) Tamaki's character growth should have been what it ends up being from the beginning. But it's very apparent (like Obi) that she was the straight male gaze fan service. The fandom is pretty divided on Tamaki as you'll find out. Her character growth is really important and speaks volume to the way people slut shame but then on the other hand it takes a long time (like end of season two) for Okubo to do that for her. She's so so and she reads better than she watches ngl
how outwardly gay Hibana and Iris are is just like?? my favorite thing??? It's so gay they so clearly had first time crushes on each other?? just?? I love that ship so much I'll always die on that lesbian hill. But I do like Hibana. I love her and Obi's sibling interaction the more we get of them. They're like nit picky brother and sister and I love it
me likes Iris. I've always liked Iris. Less of a crush thing and more of I vibe with the way she thinks. I too carry immense crushing feelings in myself and try to never talk to anyone about them.
I'm totally bias but Fire Force is so binge-able in both anime and manga form. The transitions to arcs. The connections between even just season 1 to season 2. The lore and everything. It's very addictive and I will not lie I'm excited for you to get the scientist and the eye patch smoking dude. I do really think you'll like them idk I just feel it in my bones that you'll be a Joker and Viktor fan. They are....questionable at best. But funny so it's worth it XD
not me biting my nails for you to get to season two bc I'm not ready for your first impressions of my hubby of husbands 😂

"Since when does that Overjerk has someone?!" Rappa almost screamed as the others tried to process what had just happened.
"Why dont you say something Nemoto?" Tengai spoke with calmness yet a but of teasing on his voice "Aren't you "his favorite" after all?"
Nemoto was with his elbows on the desk as his forehead rested on his hands before he suddenly pointed at Chrono.
"Ask him. He is the one who spend his childhood days with the boss, not me." All eyes were on Chrono the moment hid words exited his mouth as Kurobo scoffed at the statement.
"Really?!" Mimic just tried to grab a cup and went to the wall before Hoyo stopped him muttering that it was not a good idea to intrude on the main boss conversation with whoever you were.
A sudden crack of a door opening caught their attention as Kai was the first to exit while Pops chuckled and you giggled at how flustered Kai seemed to you.
"It was a pleasure knowing my daughter-in-law. I hope you miss wont mind some offers of tea with this old man, I'm dying to tell you more stories about this boy over here." Kai merely narrowed his eyes at the old man as you giggled and carresed Chisaki's arms.
This action specifically, shocked everyone on the room. Kai let it very clear that he absolutely despised any forms of touch, yet there you were. Touching lovingly his arm while he simply stood there with the face of someone who just wanted to the ground yo swallow the ground he was stepping in.
"I would love to." You bowed a bit as Chisaki just muttered to you for you both to get out already before pops started to talk about embarrassing stories of his 9 years old self.
"Ah! (Y/n), those over there are-" Pops mentioned for them, and each of the man gulped at seing this and the death glare Kai sended to them but evident of a sick evil smile behind that mask of his.
"Oh I know!" You giggled before smilling at them "Those are the people who thought I was a vacuum." You giggled as Pops stared at them with judgment before you came to Mimic and Chrono with a smile.
"You two must be Irinaka and Kurono! Is nice to meet you both, I heard both of you are especially close to Kai!" You bowed a bit as Kurono and Mimic stared at each other.
You suddenly hugged them both and went to compliment the others. Kurono and Joi simply stole a glance at Kai who definitely was trying to control himself to not just kill them right there.
Every precept was simply amazed by you. Not only was you beautiful, but you were just so kind and captivating! Compliment each one of them and not being repulsed or scared of who they were or wtv.
You spend time with each of them. Nemoto quickly warmed up to you, Tabe was enchanted and Setsuno was amazed at how sympathetic you were yet angry about how his ex treated him. Hoyo simply smiled when you commented how cool his quirk were; Rikiya and Rappa kept flexing when you were amazed by their strengh. Deidoro talked about which kinds of wines you could drink and you listened to it all with a smile.
"Alright that's enough." Kai put his gloved hands on your shoulders, a ripper look on his amber eyes at each one of them. "Let's go. We have to be on another place right now."
"We do?" You asked in confusion while he was already urging you to get out of the house along with him.
"Yes, we do. Let's get going already." He grumbled before a laugh caught your both attentions.
"Awe Chisaki is jealous!" Chrono snorted at Pops comment as some precepts howled in laughter while other hidded their chuckles behind their hands.
"Ulala mister big and bad Overjerk is so possessive over his girl!" Rappa laughed and Chisaki's eye twitched. Not even being able to take a step towards him before you grabbed on his arm and Pops scolded him.
"Do not dare Chisaki. Dont show those things to your girlfriend now unless you want her to leave you."
Kai wass almost exploding from anger since he was being both humiliated and disrespected at the moment right in front of his angel. Whose didn't even let him try to kill Rappa...
"C'mon capo. Didn't you just said we had somewhere to go?" You cooed while his face softened a bit.
"We are never getting back here with those sick." He mumbled as he slammed the door shut as you laughed at his behaviour and send a quick "see you guys soon" over his shoulder.
"The chick seems nice." Mimic smirked while crossing his arms as Pops hummed.
"She has Chisaki wrapped around her finger even."
Rappa suddenly kneeled on the ground and extended his hands on the air.
"FINALLY! THAT WOMEN IS GOING TO SAVE MY FUCKING ASS FROM THAT JERK!"
"Dont count with that dude. She is not some godness." Kurono vommented bluntly as the topic of the conversation still stuck by you.
When Kai got back he was bombarded with questions about you. And he merely told the precepts to fuck off before he used his quirk on them.
"Careful bud. (Y/n) wouldn't like that." Hari smirked before being chased down by Kai on the house.

The weekend flew by, mostly thanks to the great time she had with Hitomi. Though after Saturday night’s events, Nanami’s only thoughts were on her friend’s suggestion to get self-defense training. Well, that and the cute doodles on a now-bookmarked page in her planner. She smiled to herself remembering that night and the unexpectedly pleasant company. The image of him sitting next to her as they joked brought a warmth to her face she was very reluctant to accept. Snap out of it and focus. She chastised herself as she quickly remembered what had happened earlier that night when she felt she couldn’t defend herself.
Sure it turned out fine, but what if he’d been more aggressive and I was alone? Or what if he had a quirk or got training to use it against people… Nanami didn’t finish the thought but she knew where it led and she was honest enough to admit it scared her. Sunday night she made a list of classes to check out. Usually being a thoughtful shopper, she figured it would be smarter to vet the classes by observing before diving in. She had an hour or so after work before she went to the lab, so why not squeeze in an errand?
Packing up her things, she headed out of the office, pulling up the directions on her phone. After a couple blocks, she arrived in front of a studio with large, glass windows and a dozen or so occupants inside. It wasn’t very long before she realized this wouldn’t be a class where she’d learn much. The “assailant” was really just some poor guy in a thick layer of padding, standing still as the students formed a line to shyly “punch” or “kick” him with all the brutality of a raucous pillow fight. Everyone moved at their own pace, but pragmatic as she was, Nanami knew whatever she learned from this class wouldn’t be enough to repel someone who really meant trouble. After checking out two other classes yielding similar results, she decided to give it a rest for the day and head to the lab. They had a lot of data to analyze from the most recent round of tests, and she wanted to get a leg up on preparations.
Parking in her regular spot, she walked up to the front gates and knocked. She cocked her brow in confusion after waiting for a minute. Where the heck is Kurono… Usually if she was due to arrive at 6:00pm, he’d be in the front room waiting with an extra cup of tea he’d just so happened to have made at 5:45pm. Despite their initial meetings, they’d gotten closer over the past couple months, trading looks when Overhaul was in one of his “moods” and taking breaks together. No one was as meticulous and punctual as Overhaul, but Kurono would definitely be a close second, so seeing him late was surprising. This is odd. Nanami began to think as the door opened and she was greeted by another man she’d seen in passing.
“Good evening, doc. This way, please.”
“Oh, good evening. Lead the way,” she said, brushing off the concern from earlier. It wasn’t unreasonable to think they’d changed schedule every now and then.
The man escorted her to the lab and shut the door, leaving her to some work she was happy to do alone. After Saturday night, she wasn’t completely sure how to interact with her lab partner. Sure they hadn’t necessarily done anything untoward, but it would be a lie to say it was nothing.
Five minutes passed by, then ten… once minute number fifteen rolled around she began to get Worried? Nope. We’re not going there today. It’s probably just “business” or something else shady. If he doesn’t think this research is important, that’s his loss. She convinced herself, a little irritated he’d blown her off without even one of his curt “I’m busy. We’ll speak later” texts. Just as she was about to mentally practice the argument she’d have with him when he finally decided to come in, the door burst open, startling her as she almost dropped the samples she was moving.
Turning towards the door, she saw the angry little Muppet, already preparing to hear some kind of smart remark. Thought everyone else had warmed to her in one way or another, Mimic made it clear the only person worth any courtesy was Overhaul. “Well how can I help you Mimi—”
“Please—please just come with me right now. I don’t have time to explain, just hurry and follow me!”  the small creature shrieked. Well, in a way, he always shrieked, but this time Nanami could hear a desperation she’d only heard during her E.R. days. Switching gears, she knew to drop what she was doing and follow him. Whatever he needed, it was serious.
Racing down the long, winding hallways behind him, she was grateful to have kept in some semblance of shape. Just before she reached her limit, they stopped at a familiar door. Her heart sank, Isn’t this his office? She realized before Mimic quickly opened the door and promptly closed it once they entered. She looked confused as she saw Overhaul lying face down on one of the couches in the office. Kurono was blocking most of her line of sight to him as he was kneeling by his side. Hearing the door close, he looked back, moving out of the way, a grave look on his face. As she took in the scene, she heard a voice croak out “I… I can’t reach...”. She was confused for a moment before she saw there was a sizeable, deep gash across Overhaul’s back and hives, Probably from being touched and carried in here she guessed. By the look of it, she knew even breathing had to be excruciating and even a contortionist would find it challenging to bend their arm behind their back to touch it. Traditional medicine would be a gamble…she thought, as she took off her gloves, resigning herself to the obvious option.
“Alright, lift him up, very gently.”  Nanami commanded firmly, noticing the significant blood loss.
“Touch me again and I’ll kill the lot of you.” He seethed as his subordinates backed away, knowing better than to take the threat lightly.
She tried to think quickly as she needed to see if there were any other injuries before acting. Remembering all the times he’d touched her yet hadn’t broken out, she decided to give it a shot. “Then I’ll do it.” She said resolutely. He mustered up enough strength to turn his head and glare in warning. She cautiously moved forward and knelt beside him to whisper. “You’ve touched me before without breaking out, remember? You and I both know there’s a time limit and the longer your wound is open, the harder it will be to repair. I promise I won’t let anyone else make contact, just let me help you.”
He seemed to accept she was right and that he had no other choice. The warning was still in his eyes, but he nodded reluctantly. Though moving him was a two person job, she knew she’d have to make due. With one of her hands at his head and another along his side she tried to keep his head, neck and back aligned while rolling him onto one side. She tried her best to be careful, but it was hard moving him at all without earning a wince and hiss. Good, it’s just the back. She confirmed noting the lack of blood underneath him as she quickly looked over him before her arms gave out.
Letting him down, she knelt down beside him, assessing the situation. His weak, but at least he’s conscious. I can do this. She reassured herself, not used to having such a captivated audience watching behind her. Usually when she’d used her quirk to fix something so drastic, she’d make sure she was alone with the patient and they were sedated. The Eight Bullets knew about her quirk, but it was still nerve-racking having to perform in front of so many eyes.
“Just do it” he exasperated from behind gritted teeth. He seemed to be bracing himself, but she was confused as to why.
Brushing it off, she took a deep breath, disassembling his shirt to get a better view of the wound. It was as bad, if not worse, than she thought. Within seconds she reconstructed the damaged bones, sinew and then skin until the wound vanished, earning her a sigh of relief from her patient and the onlookers.
“There you go, good as new.” She piped, almost slapping him on the back like a fixed car before stopping herself short and gently patting instead. “Who did this to you?” a note of genuine concern in her voice.
“It doesn’t matter, it was a cheap shot. None of them exist anymore.” He replied too simply for someone who’d probably just murdered multiple someones. Nanami never forgot what he was, but it didn’t make the regular confirmation any easier. “Kurono, Mimic: Leave us.” He added, now moving himself to rise from the couch.
They filed out of the room, Kurono looking back, giving her a small nod and thankful glance before closing the door behind them. Turning her attention back to him, Overhaul was already at the closet in his office, putting on another, identical shirt. Knew it. She thought remembering her theory about his wardrobe.
He continued buttoning it up, his back turned to her as he began,” How did you do that?”
“Um… the same way you do?” She replied, perplexed as to what he meant. She’d disclosed most of what she was able to do with their shared quirk already, and he’d shown that he knew how to heal himself. She’d become leagues more cooperative and transparent during their research, so the question caught her off guard.
“No, you don’t. It’s been a long day, and I’d greatly appreciate it if you gave up this little act and just explained it to me.”
“I... I don’t know what you mean…” Ok now I’m really confused…
He turned around, an obvious look of suspicion in his eyes, “I won’t ask again.”
Nanami was taken aback, insulted,” So I save your ass and in return I get an interrogation?”
“First of all, it was my back, not my ass. Secondly, I only interrogate uncooperative parties, so cooperate and explain how you healed me like that?” he intoned, now stalking towards her, an accusatory look still in his eyes.
“Like how? I have literally no idea what you mean!” Genuinely confused at why he was so angry with her all the sudden, she was really hoping he’d throw her a bone here.
“Without the pain!”
“…the what?” She looked at him searchingly before realizing what he meant, a pained and slightly embarrassed look on his face. Her tense stance relaxed before continuing, “Have you… just been feeling it all the entire time?”
“You haven’t?”
“Hell no,” she shot back before continuing, thinking out loud, “To feel every singular cell being ripped apart and put back together every time? That would be…” His eyes were no longer meeting hers, his jaw tightening, “…unbearable.”
Clinically, she knew they utilized their quirk differently, but seeing the real-world effects was another thing entirely. Of course, someone who’d grown up only weaponizing their quirk wouldn’t think about minimizing pain, and conversely someone who’d used it almost exclusively for healing would prioritize comfort. If it had just been a theory she’d concocted in a vacuum, she’d probably think it was fascinating, but now it just seemed… Sad. Knowing he’d been in that kind of pain for so long caused an aching in her chest.
“Do not pity me.” He seethed, misjudging the look on her face.
“What? No. Look, I know this may be a novel concept for you, but there is such a thing as empathy.”
“I have no use for that either.”
“You sure did a couple minutes ago when you were bleeding out.”
“Yes, and you were useful, as most tools are, but for now I need nothing else from you.”
She couldn’t help the look of hurt that flashed across her face, his hard stare unwavering. Looking him up and down with disgust, she knew it wasn’t worth the effort to continue the discussion. He was lashing out at her because he was embarrassed, and she wouldn’t tolerate it.
“This… was a mistake. Fuck you.”
She turned on her heel out of the office, slamming the door behind her.
Fuck that guy. Fuck that guy. Fuuuuccckkk that guy. She cursed to herself as she stormed down the hallway and back to the lab. The nerve of him to be bleeding all over me, begging for MY help one second, just to turn around and humiliate me the next. Fuck him.
Bursting through the doors to the lab, Nanami saw Kurono redrawing one of her diagrams in their notes, “I’m sorry Dr. Watanabe, it’s nothing against you it’s just—Wait, what are you doing?” he asked, noticing she was angrily shoving her things into her bag.
“I’m leaving.”
Kurono sighed, confident that Overhaul had to have said something cruel. “I’m not sure what he said to you, but I do know he’s been lighter than he has been in a long time since you started working together.” He confessed, hoping it would strike a chord with her. She paused, a sad look crossing her face before it reverted to anger and she began packing again. “Is there anything I can do to convince you to stay?”
“Help me kick Overhaul’s ass and make him apologize.”
“… it has been a pleasure working with you.”
Pausing for a minute, her fists clenched in frustration, she realized what she’d be losing by leaving. “Just this morning I had one of the most exciting research projects of my career and felt like maybe we’d become just a little bit closer to… whatever counts as forward in this weirdass partnership thing. But he just had to piss it away.” It was upsetting to say the least, months of work would now come to a halt and collect dust, all because of his ego, “It’s not fair.”
Her eyes were trained on the ground, too angry and hurt to move when she heard him get up from his chair and walk over. She felt a comforting hand on her shoulder, “Care for one last cup of tea before you go?”
Sighing heavily, trying to release the tension from her shoulders, she nodded solemnly attempting to give a small smile, “Yeah, one more for the road.”
“Ok, I’ll leave you to your things. Come to the front room upstairs when you’re ready.” Kurono patted her shoulder as he walked past her, leaving her alone to finish packing up.
The anger was still present, but soon enough the sadness of loss came washing over her. No. We’ll feel all the feels later, let’s just get out of here she thought sniffling and recomposing herself. She was going through some papers when she heard the door open behind her.
“Sorry, Kurono, I’ll be done in just a minute,” she said, still focused on her task. When there was no response, she looked to see who came in, a grimace instantly plastered across her face. He walked over to the workbench across from her and stood quietly, his arms folded. She scoffed before turning back to her task, ignoring him. Packing up the last of her things, she glanced around briefly before her eyes landed on her planner that laid on the workbench he was in front of. Rolling her eyes, she marched over, standing only inches away from him before reaching past to grab the booklet behind him. As she turned to walk away, she thought she heard something.
“Excuse me?” she looked back at him, a tinge of irritation in his eyes. She rolled hers before turning again. “Why do I even ask...”
“I said, I’d like our partnership to continue.”
She was sure she was going to get whiplash from dealing with him, but responded anyway, unable to let this slide. “You have a real funny way of showing it.”
“But I am showing it, right now by asking you to continue.”
“You do not get to humiliate me and then just pretend like saying that will be good enough. You’re calling it a partnership right now, but a couple minutes ago I was a tool.”
“So, you’d give up all of this work because your feelings were hurt?” his tone cold and almost annoyed.
“Because my feelings were hurt? No, you disrespected me. I helped you—which I was glad to do—and you spit in my face. No thank you, no nothing. Partners don’t do that, at least not any I’d consider working with.”
“We may be partners, but our standing is not the same. My mastery of overhaul exceeds yours, thus you need direction.”
“You have a mastery of violence. Just because I don’t use it to fight or kill people whenever my ego isn’t stroked just the right way… that doesn’t make me lesser than you, and it certainly doesn’t make you better than me.”
“You agreed to come into this world knowing exactly what it was. This is not about ego, this is about the natural order of things here. You admit you couldn’t hold your own in combat, so where does that leave you in a world that bases order on the violence you’re abstaining from?”
“I’d say right next to you.” She stepped forward, solidifying the confrontation. “For all your power, you still had to be saved, by me. As far as I’m concerned, whatever fight you were in tonight would have been a draw without me, so who really decided the ‘natural order’? My value is the same, whether I’m inside or outside this world, and I will not stay where people refuse to see it just because it doesn’t conform to their narrow definition of it.”
He stared at her a beat searchingly as she stared back in complete defiance. She knew logically she’d have little recourse if he made the snap decision to disassemble her, but she wouldn’t want to live with herself if she let him think this was ok. As much as she lectured about ego, her pride never ceased to get the best of her.
“You…have a point.” He managed to get out, the words sounding like they were causing him physical pain. He couldn’t deny respect was paramount in the world of the underground and her demand for it was not unreasonable, not to mention how useful she could be in the future. However, for that to be true, he’d have to acknowledge the possibility that he was in the wrong, something he’d only ever done for his father, the only other person to save him. He knew what had to be done. He closed his eyes briefly, taking a deep breath, unintentionally inhaling what he knew was a light smell of lavender. She was standing much closer to him than anyone he wasn’t planning on fighting, but he found himself not loathing it. Savoring it for a moment, he turned to walk around to her side creating some much-needed distance between them. Clearing his throat by swallowing what could best be described as his own pride, he locked eyes with her. She was still royally pissed, but also watching intently, reluctantly curious.
“I…I do find you valuable. To compare you to a tool was… unfair.” By his tone and furrowed brows, she could tell this was difficult for him, but she needed to hear him say it. Her expression softened slightly, but she stood firm, waiting to hear the rest. She didn’t want to leave, but their arrangement couldn’t continue if he was going to treat her like he had earlier, and she needed to know he knew that. “You have my gratitude. I would like for you to reconsider your decision and to move forward… with me… on this project.”
It was a relief to hear, but he’d left out one important word. “… is this your way of saying sorry?” she asked, knowing the answer. His arrogance might not let him say it outright, but judging by how worked up he’d gotten, she was sure it was as close to an apology as anyone had heard from him.
“Think what you want,” he replied turning his gaze from her to stare at a cabinet that was suddenly very interesting. “… I won’t refute your assumption.”
Close enough. For now.
Her gaze dropped from his face as her hand massaged the back of her neck, resigning herself to this curve ball fate had thrown her. She sighed, walking back to the workbench, placing the notes down as they had been earlier. She went into her bag and retrieved a small box and began walking towards the lab doors.
“… Where are you going?” He asked, the slightest tinge of worry in his voice.
“Tea break and snacks.” She said waving the small box,” I’ll be back in 30. We can go over notes then.” She replied simply.
“… I see. I’ll be waiting then.” The subtle sound of relief in his voice did not go unnoticed. She paused, with her back still turned to him and spoke over her shoulder.
“Overhaul?”
“Yes?”
“To answer your question, I disassemble the nerve fibers connected to the tissue I’m repairing until I’m finished. I’d usually just rely on the anesthesia since most of the patients I work with have to go into surgery anyway, but in cases like tonight, that is how I do it without pain.” She explained before leaving the lab.
“…I see. Thank you.” He intoned with a level of sincerity that felt foreign to him. Though he’d never admit it, the sight of her lab coat hanging next to his brought a strange sense of comfort.

;; How do you imagine kurono relationship with each one of the members of the precepts?
-insert eyes emoji + sparkling emoji- this will be fun
ps- sorry this took so long to respond andlkjafkbhsegkb I fell asleep like 3 times while writing this and got distracted several times by philkas and malec
——–
Chisaki Kai (Overhaul)
So, it is normal to see Kurono hanging out in the background when Chisaki is in the room, as he’s always following him around in case he needs anything at all, Overhaul’s thirsty? He’s got him covered, Fiji water for the best boss on earth
Kurono has such a high admiration towards him, you’ll be able to catch him gazing at Chisaki and melting every time they lock stares, you’ll be able to view the exact moment Hari spills his uwus every time Kai looks at him
Would never dare address him as Chisaki or Kai though, he’d be dead where he stands if he did, he respects Kai too much, and therefore only calls him Overhaul, though sometimes he might slip but pick himself up before he can call him by his name, he’s slick and therefore able to distract Chisaki when stuff like this happens
They’ve known each other for the longest time, Kurono knows almost everything about Chisaki and views him as his best friend, yet Chisaki has a hard time admitting he too sees Hari as his friend, but it is not as if it bothers Hari, as he is completely fine with the fact that Kai doesn’t view him as highly as he does, or so he thinks, Kai’s the boss anyway so it SHOULD be this way, right?
Irinaka Joi (Mimic)
Their relationship is… complicated. like they are friends but they are not at the same time.
They’re both very competitive when it comes to being the best co-leader of the Shie hassaikai, they’ve got this silent game where they are always trying to outsmart each other, well more like it is Kurono trying to be better than Irinaka and getting frustrated when Joi receives praise and he doesn’t, but Hari ain’t gonna complain because complaining will lead him nowhere.
definitely takes advantage on the fact he’s very obviously Chisaki’s favorite to make sure Irinaka goes through a pranks hell, you bet Mimic was woken up in a daycare with other toys just as kids come racing in, of course, he can’t do much other than escape and assist work late because goddamn Hari had to so kindly deliver him to some children which pulled at his little arms and legs and drenched him in saliva, and also stabbed bows into his head, you know, peachy, has to burn that body afterwards because there’s no way in hell Kai will let him get close to him, so many fucking germs.
overall though, they are able to hold a serious conversation, but if they are left alone for too long Kurono might start pushing Joi’s buttons until the room becomes a battlefield.
when Kurono is angry he will pick up Mimic and throw him against a wall, it doesn’t hurt him much so… gotta take advantage of that.
Nemoto Shin
oh boy, oooooooohhhh boy. when you see these two together, you know you gotta be scared, be very afraid, they are NOT here for good, don’t move, don’t shake, don’t speak, don’t even b r e a t h e, one wrong move and you’re fucking dead
Together, they’re like those popular beautiful stereotypical blond high school girls, sarcasm is their virtue, and you bet they know every flaw about you, the moment they get together, and they land their eyes on you, you’re dead meat, so bitch you better go perfectly still or hoe, you already fckn ded.
Nemoto is Kurono’s go-to friend, since you know… Chisaki isn’t exactly the best best friend, Kurono has Nemoto to back him up whenever he needs something Kai can’t provide, aka something emotional or physical, Hari finds Shin lots of fun and it isn’t rare to catch them talking when Chisaki is nowhere to be seen, or even laughing with each other.
They do tend to keep things strictly professional around Chisaki or Irinaka though, often meeting up right after to talk about whatever and chitchat
It may not seem like it, but Kurono loves drama, and who better than Nemoto to make people spill the tea? His quirk’s name should be tea spiller, not Confession, and honestly? Hari loves it, something he will more than proudly admit
When the situation is given, they both flirt with each other and call each other lovey nicknames, you know like… “asshole”, “dickhead”, and occasionally they address each other as “boo” but that’s more of a friendly thing
None of them talk about it but once they got so high together the next day they woke up in the same bed, luckily fully dressed, but it ain’t like either of them cares, it is simply that Chisaki would kill Hari if he knew this.
Sakaki Deidoro
Well there isn’t much to say about Kurono’s relationship with him, other than he occasionally tagging along with him and Nemoto to go bar hopping incognito at 3 AM while Chisaki is asleep, Kurono often being forced to take a thorough shower when he gets back because the smell of alcohol isn’t something Chisaki likes to find on his #1 assistant
For the most part, their relationship is due to work, as Kurono doesn’t see himself to be great friends with him, but still is willing to socialize with him, after all, he isn’t supposed to form strong bonds/relationships with the expendable bullets of the yakuza
Rikiya Katsukame
Again, there isn’t much to say, Hari things Rikiya is hot, he’s tall, muscular, and able to burst through a wall very easily, Kurono finds that amusing, and therefore is often seen checking him out with Nemoto, who simply agrees and adds on lmao.
_Doesn’t even talk to him tho unless it’s job-related, though sometimes he might tell him he’s done a good job after accomplishing a mission and leaves right after_
Hekiji Tengai
so, their relationship is quite complicated, since there are times Hari is responsible, stoic, and well-mannered, which is when he gets along with Tengai, they will talk politely over a cup of hot chocolate and Kurono will keep him up to date with anything he knows
but then there is when Kurono is in the mood to mess with everyone and you bet Tengai is his go-to target
Hari will tease him non-stop and make sure Tengai regrets seeing him that day, though when overhaul walks in he can’t say shit since by the end of the day he’s just another expendable serving under their command, and it’s not like Hari bothers him that much, as it is mostly just Kurono budging him and likely to get slapped, which only causes Hari to laugh whenever he’d get hit after annoying him
Rappa Kendou
Hari’s #3 favorite tbh, like, he simply likes this guy, there are no reasons why. Actually, there is, and it is that Rappa is simply a big puppy? You know, the kind to destroy your house while you’re gone and wants to bite everything with its little hurtfully sharp teeth? That Rappa to Hari
He’s so big,,,, Kurono loves that, he loves having to look up to stare at him in the face, he loves his strong build, he loves his arms, oh god his arms
you bet Kurono loves praising Rappa, whenever he fights, after overhaul, he is the first one to get a piece of Hari’s mind about his well-done job, thus boosting the guy’s ego, he often finds himself being able to control him better than many, this thanks to his quirk quick practically paralyzes him? until he’s calmed down
Kurono loves his gigantic pupper, you bet that Hari spoils him, Rappa is a good guy, if only he didn’t want to fight everyone to literal death, and that’s something Kurono acknowledges and finds amusing, he does his own thing, and doesn’t like being put into teams, as it has been seen before, but we all know Hari would not say no to overhaul
Setsuno Toya
Toya, Hari, and Shin are the mean girls of the Shie hassaikai, Hari is Regina George, Shin is Gretchen Weiners, and Toya is Karen Smith, he has the least power out of the three, but he’s nice to have around so they keep him in the group lmao
Kurono talks to Toya more through text than face to face, mostly because they send each other lots of memes and funny/ugly selfies, they also make mischievous plans to mess with Overhaul almost every day, and rarely have they been caught
Setsuno allows Hari to take his phone and send Overhaul vines asking him to see them, after all, Toya is suicidal, so he’s got nothing to lose, and even though Kurono appreciates Setsuno as a pal, he knows he can’t get attached, and therefore just does as he wants
though when Setsuno needs help, Kurono is more than willing to offer himself first, he may not be very good with advice and emotions though, but he is a good listener and will sit and hear him out through every rant along with a cup of hot chocolate
They once made a plan together to prank overhaul and Kurono replaced Chisaki’s usual black surgeon mask with one that said ‘owo’ one morning and paid Toya to go up to him and say “good mowning mitew owohauw” and record it, but in addition to that, which made the video way better, Overhaul replied with a sigh, and in a very disappointed tone… “hewwo”
Soramitsu Tabe
chompy boie, Kurono doesn’t usually talk to him, but sometimes he will bring the weirdest foods and feed them to Tabe just for fun
He likes to invite him and Hojo when he hands out with Setsuno, since they are Toya’s friends, and together they will find reckless/fun stuff to do, of course, Overhaul never knows that Hari tags along with them, they keep Kurono covered -insert thumbs up emoji-
Once, Hari gathered all the precepts and made them sit in a circle around Tabe and brought in a deep fried sock, together they all chanted until Tabe was so overwhelmed he ended up eating the sock
Yu Hojo
welp, Hojo is one of the only people he actually maintains a calm and professional relationship with, unless the gang gets together, but that’s another story
They chat and discuss about serious topics, sometimes Tengai will join them, and they’ll have a nice and calm time spent together but that’s about all they do
They also read novels and watch those dramatic Mexican novellas, and it is normal to see them talk about them, Hari knows Spanish and has tried teaching Hojo, but his accent is poor and his pronunciation is hopeless, though Hari still tries to teach him and Hojo tries even harder to learn

Fire Force 炎炎ノ消防隊
Plot: Spontaneous Human Combustion: a chaotic phenomenon that has plagued humanity for years, randomly transforming ordinary people into flaming, violent creatures known as Infernals. While Infernals make up the first-generation accounts of Human Combustion, the second and third generations became known as pyrokinetics—people gifted with the ability to manipulate and control their flames while remaining human. To combat the Infernal threat and discover the cause, the Tokyo Armed Forces, Fire Defense Agency, and Holy Church of Sol produced their answer: the Special Fire Force. Young and eager third-generation pyrokinetic Shinra Kusakabe, nicknamed Devil's Footprints for his explosive ability to ignite his feet at will, becomes a member of the lively Special Fire Force Company 8. Upholding the brigade's duty to extinguish the blazing Infernals and lay their souls to rest, Shinra is determined to become a hero who will save the lives of those threatened by the flame terror. However, this is not the hero's game Shinra imagined. The Fire Force is a fractured mess of feuding brigades, abnormal Infernal sightings are increasing all over Tokyo, and a shadowy group is claiming to have answers to the strange fire that caused the death of Shinra's family 12 years ago. Faced with many obstacles within and outside the Fire Force, Shinra fights to uncover the truth behind the burning mysteries that have kept him in the dark [Written by MAL Rewrite]
Episodes: 24
Main Characters: Fire Force Company 8 (way too many)
Points: 8.5/10
The show excited me so much, I picked up the manga after the 20th episode, because I never wanted to miss it, especially if they didn't announce a second season. Gladly they did though, because there is still so much to come, so many great fights and so many more revealing moments, because Fire Force features a world of fear and mystery: humans simply explode and burn away (if they don't become horned demons or monsters). It's indeed a fight against fire for the fire force, although it may be questionable to fight fire with fire, because that's mostly what they do. There are different levels of humans and many can already control their power of fire. The anime very closely adapted the source material. I can attest to that since I watched and read both at the same time.
Tumblr media
The first few episodes were okay-ish, but when the pace finally picked up, Fire Force turned out to be super exciting. So once you get through the first 5 episodes, you'll be captured by the charm that is a roller coaster ride of crazy fights and thrilling mysteries. The reveals and explanations come in slowly and even after many more manga chapters, there is still a lot that hasn't been explored, so there are still many questions, especially after that first season. That's why a second season is already in the making, so we should watch out for that.
Fire Force is a very refreshing take of a shounen series, the concept is completely original and promises many golden twists. The animation also gradually improved throughout the series, which is a major plus point, because the first fights weren't exactly flashy and mostly consisted of pictures being chained to one another to look cool (it was statical at best). Within Fire Force you will find many pretty consistent fighting scenes, that look awesome and also portray how nicely those flames can look like.
A minus point for the anime (and manga) can be the fanservice, which happens quite frequently. I got used to it after a few episodes and sometimes I even thought it was quite amusing for the story, but I know it's not everyone's cup of tea.
After reading through the manga I can safely say I prefer the source material, but the anime adapted everything accurately, which is pretty good in my opinion. Canon divergent stories often happen to lose momentum. The manga is from Atsushi Ohkubo who also is the mastermind behind Soul Eater, which I still have to check out, but the man is a god, he knows how to create worlds that fuck everything up, I guess.
Tumblr media
I've read up on the criticism for most characters being generic and undeveloped, but you need to keep in mind that this is just the set up for the story; the first season. It probably doesn't even feature half of the story, so it's safe to assume that many characters will show up again and receive proper development within the plot (which is true for the manga). After 24 episodes there's barely anything I can say about the characters, especially for Company 8, which is a bunch of dynamic and weird characters who work together extremely well. We have Shinra, the absolute main character, who lost his family to the fire and thus wants to uncover the secret and save people. He's got a knack of smiling in dangerous situations (or when he's nervous) and for now he is indeed a generic character, but not the type of annoying main hero. He's hard working and smart and clearly out to understand what happened to his family. The rest of the company are too many to mention, but we have a super cool captain, who has absolutely no fire power, a lieutenant who is non-cholant and strict, Maki a super strong girl, Iris (who will play a more important role in the future) a sweet young and innocent girl, Arthur a complete idiot but strong fighter once he's in the knight zone, Tamaki who will also be featured way more in season 2 as she has barely been introduced in the first as someone who can do nothing but get herself undressed, Vulcan a very cool engineer who's had a rough past and Licht, who is a crazy genius with ulterior motives.
None of them are exactly stereotypes or boring, I swear, there will be at least one character that will intrigue you. The criticism is absolutely stupid for the story has barely taken root in the first season. In comparison to my absolute favourite World Trigger, Fire Force has been adapted extremely well. I can't wait for a second season to air!
Ni no Shou
Plot: After his confrontation in the Nether with his younger brother Shou, Shinra Kusakabe's resolve to become a hero that saves lives from the flame terror strengthens. Finding a way to turn the Infernals back into people, unraveling the mystery of the Evangelist and Adolla Burst, and saving his mother and Shou—these are the goals Shinra has in mind. However, he has come to realize that attaining these goals will not be easy, especially with the imminent danger the Evangelist poses. The Evangelist's plan is clear: to gather the eight pillars—the individuals who possess Adolla Burst—and sacrifice them to recreate the Great Cataclysm from 250 years ago. Having been revealed by the First Pillar that the birth of a new pillar is approaching, Shinra is determined to protect his fellow pillars from the Evangelist. Thus, the fiery battle between the Special Fire Force and the Evangelist ignites. Together with the Special Fire Force, Shinra's fight continues as he uncovers the truth about the Great Cataclysm and the nature of Adolla Bursts, as well as the mysteries behind human combustion. There is so much unnecessary hate on MAL for this season, even though there might be even more hate across the web, that this anime really doesn't deserve. Surely it has its own faults, but there are much worse series all around. Someone mentioned that this may be due to David Production working on this instead of Jojo (something I'll never ever watch in my life), so it may be due to jealousy but otherwise, I've seen many childish reviews of people who watched season 2, although they didn't like the first one as in it bored them and they never got into it and on the other hand they simply tried to find reasons to make it look bad, when in fact they simply had no idea about plot or characters. This is awfully childish. It's awfully normal that when a normal human is burned, they die, but a second or third generation won't just die as they are firstly used to fire and control it to a certain degree or why so ever aren't Shinra's feet burned? All these things are brought forward simply to make it seem illogical and boring.
The pacing is on the other hand is indeed a point that isn't really good, as it dreadfully drags on and relies to much on flashbacks and pieces and bits of information that has already been handed to us in the last season or even just in the last few episodes. That's in contrast to everything else a small annoyance though. There are many other good points of the show: an interesting premise and plot development, many lovely characters (which will never be completely developed due to the sheer number) which are being introduced to us anew or now shown for the very first time. We get to know a lot of fire companies and we dive much deeper into the world and get more information on the white clad.
The second season consists of quite a few interesting arcs, which are all very much existent in the manga as well, which is a delight, because I really like the manga, although many do prefer the anime.
Tumblr media
We get introduced to Inka, another pillar and someone who obviously holds no love for the world or maybe she just likes to wreck havoc. She'll be shown more often in the future and I hope to know more about her, but I am not sure they'll ever focus on her again. Another new character is Juggernaut and a few others from fire companies, who won't receive much spotlight or die in combat which was sometimes quite unexpected. Juggernaut on the other hand is a lovely new character who's timid and shy but shows he can fight just fine, if he gathers his courage and tries his best. We also get the sensational Joker and Benimaru duo as they investigate the Holy Sol Temple and the “fake” religion? Apart from that we also meet the pillar Nataku Son, who has been experimented on and watched over by another company, where we also meet Kurono, a blood thirsty crazy man I'd say, but he isn't exactly a murderer either. There are still more scenes of him in the future which might be quite interesting to those who were intrigued by his character. Another small sub arc consists of the Nether investigation where Maki is being drawn from company 8 to serve in the military area until she decides to show her family, where she truly belongs and man, that was epic. Maki lives and breathes to help humans as a fire fighter, that much is clear and Maki remains one of the best female characters. Whil Ogun in this season was seriously the best. I think he’s truly one of the most interesting characters and a strong one at that and someone who shares quite a deep bond with Arthur and Shinra.
Not much yet has been revealed though, just bits of the cataclysm and that creating a second sun is probably the ultimate goal. Hopefully there will be a season 3 in the future. There is still a lot of material in the manga with many many interesting twists and turns.
The animation is even better than in the first season, thumbs up, David Productions.

Kai and Kaito are worry about Y/N because her mom is coming to visit her grandchild. But Y/N remembers that it is their first time meeting her mother. Also Y/N's mom wants to meet Pops as well. Basically she wants to meet everyone. Y/N's mom looks like a 12 year old. (Probabaly of her quirk and it's anime.) Pop's spit his tea when he ask how old she is. (She is older than Pops.) Y/N's mom treats everyone like children because she is the oldest out of the everyone.
Anime dynamics are just... weird.
Tumblr media
"First time meeting your mother and the brat is almost losing it." Chisaki stated numbly as he looked over at his son.
"Well you do have to consider that this is his only grandmother.... and he is meeting her with two years." You giggled at his arched eyebrow and unamused face. "I'm going to get her... or else she won't even pass the gates." You mumbled before you left the house.
"Daddy you're scared?" The kid asked nonchalantly while staaring up at his father.
"Why would I even be? Is just a woman." He scoffed in slight offense at hearing his son comment.
"Because you have a drop of sweat on your temple." The kid yelped and pouted at the quick flip his father gave on his forehead, the man himself grabbing a handkerchief shortly after to wipe that drop off.
He wasn't scared.
You entered minutes later with a... young woman by your side?
"Mom, this is my husband Kai Chisaki, he is the leader of the yakusa while this little boy over here is my precious son Kaito." The woman smiled serenely at both before bowing in respect.
"Is such a pleasure to meet the man who made my daughter so happy all these years, forgive me you both for not coming to the weeding." You quickly interrupted her to say that it wasn't a bother and that you knew how busy she was.
While both of your dark brow haired boys blinked in confusion, sharing a confused look before refurning to look at the woman in your side.. even the voice sounded... younger.
What the actual heck?
The woman crouched down to Kaito's eye level before gently grabbing his cheeks in both hands.
"Why, aren't you the prettiest little thing? Is so nice to meet you." She smiled while Kaito returned it with his tiny smirk.
Chrono and Mimic just happened to be walking on the same room and immediately noticed the unfamiliar presence.
"Yo who is the chick?" Mimic asked while pointing at your mother.
Chisaki darkned his eyes and went to send him a threatening glare if it wasn't for your mother's laugh.
"Oh please young man don't be such a flatter!"
"What the-? Young man?" Mimic mumbled, not believing that the brat in front of him was calling him such a thing.
"And you two kids must be..?" She asked, leaving a confused as fuck Kurono and Mimic.
Kids? KIDS?
"She is the (Y/n)'s mother, bunch of incompetents." Kai growled and scoffed at the way both of the mans eyes widened in shock.
"WhAT ThE AcTUaL FuCK?!" Kai covered his son's while glaring at Mimic... the man himself.winced at knowing he fucked up.
"No offense but you look like you're (Y/n)'s sister or similiar because..." Chrono looked up and down at her wity a frow "Yeah..."
The woman giggled with a hand lose to her chest while the other waved it in fdont of her.
"Oh please, no. I'm not that young. Quite opposite actually! All of you kids are such gentlemans."
"Mom now you're just milking it." You deadpanned at her before sighing at the wink she gave it to you.
Kaito let himself be his grandmother's guide through the house while you and Chisaki walked just a bit behind them.
"How can she call me a kid? I am a grow adult with a child already." He growled before glaring at your quite giggling figurine.
"Is just her way." You smiled up at him while he scoffed.
"With how many years did she gave birth to you? Nine?"
"Actually no. Rude." You pouted mockingly "She actually had me in a very delayed age to be honest... dont even know how I was born health to be honest."
"Because you're a angel." He muttered numbly, smirking behind his mask at your faint blush.
"What was that?" You asked with a smile before huffing at the 'I said nothing.' From your husband.
Then you and your son are the brats huh? Damn hypocrite.
One door swinged open and Kaito opened his big smile at seing the elder getting out.
"Grandpa!" Pops looked down with a smirk before noticing that not only his favorite little family was there but also in the company of a fresh new face.
"Who do I have the honor of meeting?" He asked while pointing at the woman and looking at both of you.
"My mom." "(Y/n)'s mother." "Grandma."
Pops and you mom laughed at the simultaneous answers before both introduced themselves to each other.
"Mother? Aren't you quite too young for being the mother of my daughter in law mrs?"
"Same goes to you. Such a gentleman young man you created. A bit cold, but a gentleman no less."
You stiffled a laugh at the notocing your husband's jaw clenching and his glare.
"You all interested on some tea? I need to know more about my daughter in law after all." You gulped, not liking one bit to know that now your husband was smirking devilish at the statement.
~
"So your son doesn't visit you often?"
"No. When he married that woman of his he simply decided to forgot that I existed and simply... vanished." She spoke sadly but with a smile no less.
Pops hummed while furrowing his eyebrows in disgust of such actions "I quite understand you. Something similiar happened with me and my idiot daughter..."
You and Chisaki shared glances before your husband scolded Kaito for almost dropping his box of juice in his and your lap.
"I am sorry for that. Lucky us that we at least have something to be proud of." She smiled at you and you returned it with your own.
"Surely. And your daughter was quite a blessing on this house. Not going to lie, I enjoy and appreciate her company." He poured more of the drink while Kaito grunted at not getting the plastic out of the straw for him to drink his own juice.
You giggled and genrly took it from his hand and handed to him shortly after the box with the staw already sticked on it.
"Thanks mama!"
"He could have drinked some tea due to his manners." Kai comented numbly while staring in disgust at the nox in his son's hand.
"Its black tea Chisaki. I bet Kaito would not be much fun of it anyway."
"Agreed." Kaito mumbled before closing his lip on the straw not bothering with his father's glare as he snuggled on his mother's lap with a smug look.
Even in the front of others... this brat will see at night, not going to stay to block him from his wife.
Pops and your mother entered on another chat, you and Kai making some comments here and there while Kaito just distracted himself with playing with your fingers while he sitted on your lap... the box of juice still on his hand.
"Ah right." Pops laughed sarcastically "Like you would know what those ages are, you're might be the mother of my daughter in law but that doesn't make you that old." He brought the tea to his mouth.
"Why wouldn't I know? I have 82 years old. I guess that I would know how times on that year were mister."
You almost laughed at the way your son and husband's jaw almost fell while Pops ended up spitting his tea on the carpet with a cough, avoiding on spilling the hot fdrink along with his saliva at anyone while the younger boy accidentaly let the box in his hands fall.
Luckily it was empty and closed...
Pops coughed a few more tines to regain his breath before one of Kaito's comment let you and your mother laughing, you in nervous embarrassment whiel your mother just found it funny.
"Wow you old!" Kai snapped our of his shocked state and pinched his son ear. "Ow!"
"Chisaki Kaito. Take what you said back this instant and apologize." Chisaki growled while his son pouted at him.
"Why, no need to apologize! The kid is not wrong." Your mother said gently while Kai's eye twitched.
"82 years huh?" Pops coughed one last time with a chuckle "Geez lady tell me your secret because you're way older than me and I'm looking like I am about to go to the grave."
You and Kai winced at that before both of you knocked discretly on the woodem cofee table...
"Don't say that Pops." Kai comented numbly, hidding his concern whiel lowering his mask to take a sip of his own cup.
"Listen to your son, you're still on good shape." Your mother comented while Pops scoffed.
"Says the woman who looks at the same or even younger than her own daughter."
