Krakatit (Otakar Vavra, 1948)
A chemist creates a substance that could wipe out humanity. Nuclear allegories abound. Sure this was 1948, but the book it is based on was written in 1922. Sure there was a World War 2, but there was a World War 1. It must be terrible being old or a science fiction writer. The world's never left to learn any lessons so the same madness cycles until weariness or apathy sets in. This movie is par excellence for what you'd want from heady sci-fi from this period. Nicely photographed, true craft and effort put into the design while still feeling stagey, aggravating and provoking, those clear allegories.

Krakatit. Karel Čapek. London: Geoffrey Bles, 1925. First UK edition. Original dust jacket.
An English translation of the Czech author's 1924 novel. A scientist discovers the most powerful explosive ever, but he refuses to share it with Earth's flawed political powers. The Art Deco jacket design captures both the excitement and terror of such a discovery.

if yall are enjoying Dracula may I reccomend another book with a male protagonists who spends most of the story feverishly running around and gets (metaphorically in case of dracula, literally in this case) topped by a mysterious aristocrat- may i suggest Krakatit by Karel Čapek

If you are in the Mad King’s Clock Tower and you see:
Characters that always appear and disappear without going through the JP, those are not connectivity issues, those are bots.
So far i have came across characters that are named:
Only Asura, Lucky Dice Rolls, Krakatite Ore and Skritt Looter.
Please report them, as what they do is enter the JP, and blink to the extra chests to loot them. These are gold farmer bots.
I already recorded some although i missed my chance to screenshot when all of them blinked right in front of me as i was doing the JP. These characters are all asura btw.
