I really appreciate your English translations and subtitling but I'm curious: why do you leave terms like "大哥" (da-ge), "帥哥" (shuai-ge) and "兄弟" (xiong-di) untranslated? I feel like they could easily be translated/localised into "bro", "handsome", "brother", etc.
Answered before in detail but I can't find it rn so I'll just say again:
I don't like translating them because I don't like that there are different connotations to the translations in English. There is no good equivalent for da-ge, for one, and the numerous ways to translate xiongdi in terms of bro/dude/etc also have numerous connotations in English depending on your age or where you live. Blah blah blah.
Sometimes I translate xiongdi if it's specifically 亲兄弟 but I rarely if ever translate da-ge or shuai-ge anymore. I add translation notes on occasion so people who follow me will eventually just pick up on what common terms mean anyway (I assume. And people can always ask for clarification).
TLDR: I personally just don't like translating appellations/honorifics!
New Year, New OC? I got invited to be a guest character in a friend’s game. Not playing any time soon, but I’m developing the concept now. I was offered a ball as a weapon… TIME for BLEETZBALL!
No name for now… still working on that
Gonna be going to inquistor rogue because I got a 1d4 ranged, finesse, throwing ball as a weapon.
Test outfits for the cybold. They seem to prefer greens & blues, but also really like patterned fabrics.
Damage: How they first appear in the story. Recently awoken, not fully repaired. Including ID tag and mk. 1 arm.
A: A test outfit I did for an earlier reference. The top had some weird lilypad pattern on it that I kinda want to give to somebody else.
B: A more sensible outfit, plus a more sensible arm. Geometric patterns on this top, and a pair of loose shorts.
C: Basic T-shirt and pants. Plus a sash.
D: "Post-Apocalyptic Hero" garb. Scarf that blows dramatically in the breeze, weird pre-damaged shirt, loose pants, and a belt with too many tassels. Like a jester’s collar, but a belt. I honestly don’t know what I was going for with this. Also, the arm now has proper plating on it, making it match the rest of Diana’s body.
Formal: Since this is the future, formal attire doesn’t have to conform to modern standards. For one thing, cravats are back in style. A pinstripe top (which I forgot to add buttons to), a pair of slacks, and a nice green Future Bowtie. Shoes not included.
Cold: Diana does NOT like the cold. Something something reptile something faulty internal heating elements. The story is set in a pretty warm climate, but maybe there’s a christmas special where they go to a ski resort for some reason.
Joke: I was playing around with palettes and one of them made Diana’s left eye blue. The rest is history. I’m not using this one, unless there’s a Halloween special, Dragons forbid.
