started a funny bit in my aokaga fics about kise trying to get all smoochy with kuroko and ultimately getting rejected, which has led me down the kisekuro/kurokise path

they have a lot of unrequited love potential, imo

kise puts people on a pedestal, sometimes; those of which he thought were unreachable in his teiko era (mostly with not being able to copy the miragen playstyle, which then proceeds to be a thrown away belief in kaijo v. touou and his eventual acceptance of kuroko’s idea of ‘team’)

i’m not really going anywhere with this. i’m just a little obsessed with the idea of kise being so enamored with kuroko even after facing constant rejection, and sort of the “i’ll love you even if you’ll never love me” narrative

fuyutsuki and himuro are my loves 😭 they need to stop pretending

jjk is satosugu (too many signals for them to br JUST homies...)

cool doji danshi is a weird one for me, because while i think that hayate and mima had a couples moment in the cafe, their age + maturity gap is just WAY too big for me. so i think mima and makoto are a good ship. (souma and shun i don't have opinions on really.)

idolish 7 is gaku and tsumugi (another fuyustuki and himuro situation 💔except painfully one sided )

now kuroko's basketball...

i love kagakuro's dynamic, but i also think kagaao is really cute too if aomine isn't an asshole lol

i also think aokuro, midokuro and akakuro are cool, and all have their own appeal (sorry kuroko lmfao). not big on kisekuro or murakuro.

and i used to not really like imahana, but that one special cd was a work of art.

saiki k is another weird one because while i agree that saiki's character is asexually coded, i do think he has a lot of potential with both auira and teruhashi. but then again, they are his friends, and he's just a little shit who doesn't want to admit that he cares, which i sometimes misinterpret as romantic lol sorry saiki 😔

uramichi oniisan, i think uramichi needs a partner lol, but idk if it'd be any of his cast members. same goes for everybody else

Kise Ryouta/Kuroko Tetsuya + 76) “I wouldn’t change a thing about you” (I’m sticking to just this one bc I can’t possibly wrap my head around the first one, thanks for the understanding!!)

He’d been love with Kuroko since his second year of middle school.

Kise couldn’t really put his finger on it at first. After just a few weeks of training together, he started thinking about him outside of practice, the light blue mop of hair and the huge blue eyes creeping into his thoughts at the most inappropriate times. Sometimes it would be in the middle of class, Kise staring out the window at the sky and sighing dreamily, until the very object of his desires jabbed at his side from the table next to him, as if he could read his thoughts.

Sometimes, Kise thought that he could. Kuroko had this habit of fine-tuning his senses to his teammates’ reactions: he often spoke Aomine’s mind for him, cleared up Akashi’s vague instructions for the others or deciphered the metaphors Midorima often spoke in, and always knew when to say something uplifting to his friends.

Often, he seemed to reserve that talent only for Kise.

‘I wouldn’t change a thing about you, Kise-kun.’ Kuroko told him, all snug and flush against his side when they were strolling home from a night out, five years after they met – five years of pining, five years of doubting if he’d ever be good enough for Kuroko to notice him, to want to be with him, five years of hell that was exchanged for a lifetime of heaven.

Kise’s arm tightened around his shoulder instinctively, protectively. He didn’t know what had prompted this, wasn’t even sure how Kuroko got a hold of his insecurities, but he did, and now he was strangling them with two hands, the same hands he used to hold on tight and never let him go. Kise turned his face into the soft hair on the top of Kuroko’s head, planting small kisses between the silky strands.

‘What’s gotten into you?’ he asked, teasing him lightly. ‘We shouldn’t have watched that romantic comedy after all?’

‘No, that’s not it.’ Kuroko said, nuzzling into his chest. ‘I know how you’re always putting on a face so that others won’t think of you as a weak person when something’s been bothering you. I don’t think you’re a weak person, and frankly I’ve been irritated by your dishonesty for quite some time.’ he raised his head, looking up curiously to read Kise’s eyes that were fixated on his face. ‘However, I’ve gotten to a point where I don’t even mind how you hide yourself, because it’s also part of you and as such, I’ve grown to love it. I’m also fundamentally a selfish person, and I like that I’m the only one who ever really knows the real you.’

‘I can’t think of you as a selfish person, Kurokocchi.’ Kise mumbled, reveling in the sweet smile Kuroko had flashed him for that.

‘That’s because you love by highlighting the good in other people when you started off seeing only the bad things in them. Me, on the other hand, I assume the good things first and later grow to love their dark sides.’

‘Dark sides?’ Kise frowned. So he really didn’t enjoy being with him, huh? ‘I’m not… bad for you or anything, am I?’

‘You’re very silly, Kise-kun.’ Kuroko sighed, stopping him and reaching up for a kiss. He had to stand on his tiptoes to fully press against him, but it was fine, because Kise still got a taste of his vanilla Coke, and an armful of Kurokocchi leaning onto him. ‘Instead of hearing the part about how I love you very much, you’re only focusing on the negatives. You’re quite the pessimist.’

‘Maybe so.’ Kise smiled a little, squeezing Kuroko’s waist. ‘But I do love you too, you know.’

‘I’m aware.’ Kuroko smiled, and pulled him down again.
