Yunsung didn’t hesitate to jump out of the car and dash into the hospital. The adrenaline pumped through him due to the excitement from the news he had received earlier. However, he couldn’t leave his Mr. T schedule until it was over for the day, so he was anxiously waiting to go see his wife throughout the show. He didn’t want to say anything to the other contestants in order to focus, but he couldn’t hold back his joy.

“I’m a father!” he declared, and he received numerous congratulatory remarks.

Myunghee had gone into labor the night before, and Yunsung stayed with her for as long as he could. He managed to get some sleep, but the second he got up in the morning he immediately had to leave for his schedule. As soon as it was over, he didn’t stop by the dressing room to change. Even though the stylist might scold him for it, he was too excited to wait another minute to hold his newborn son.

He had gotten few stares from other hospital patients and staff. No one was expecting someone dressed so princely to be racing in the halls, but he could care less.

Once he reached the elevator, Yunsung was able to catch his breath and calm down a bit before stepping onto the maternity floor. Myunghee had texted him that she had been moved to a new room

“Excuse me?” he asked the receptionist. “What room is Kim Myung Hee in?”

“Are you in any relation to the mother?”

Yunsung nodded. “She’s my wife.”

“Room 507,” she pointed.

Yunsung bowed and thanked her and walked towards where Myunghee was staying. Once he reached the door, he gently knocked on the door.

“Come in,” Myunghee’s sweet voice greeted.

Pushing the door open, his eyes were met by the most treasuring sight he’d ever seen in his life. Myunghee was in a new hospital gown and looked as if she had just stepped out of the shower, her silky black hair still damp. Her face was glowing, and in her arms was a small bundle in a pastel blue blanket.

Myunghee’s eyes lit up as soon as she saw her husband enter the door. He quietly rushed over to her and pecked her affectionately.

“How are you feeling?” he asked.

“I’m still hurting a little from pushing this morning,” she answered with a chuckle, “but I’ll heal. Nam Kyu is healthy, and that’s what is most important.”

Yunsung looked down at the bundle to see his baby son’s face. Tears began to push through his eyes. “It’s a boy?”

“Yes.” Myunghee was starting weep herself.

“When was he born?” he asked as gently touched Nam Kyu’s little hand.

“About two hours after you had left for Mr. T. I texted you once he had been checked on and cleaned up.”

The infant’s tiny hand wrapped around his father’s index finger, and Yunsung couldn’t hold his tears of joy back. Myunghee immediately grabbed a tissue from her bedside table and gave it to him.

“Do you want to hold him?” Myunghee asked.

“Please,” he begged.

He held out his arms as his wife carefully passed the baby to him. In that moment, Yunsung immediately felt a connection with the child. His child. Taking in the boy’s features, he knew Nam Kyu would be an almost carbon copy of him with Myunghee’s ears.

“I’m sorry I wasn’t here when he was born,” he sobbed.

“Honey, you don’t have to apologize,” Myunghee said as she stroked his face, her thumb wiping a tear from his eye. “I’m just happy you got to be here when you could. The nurses would have kicked you out when I had to give birth anyway.”

The two of them laughed, and Nam Kyu let out a silent yawn.

“Could you sing him a little something?” Myunghee asked. “I think us talking is boring him.”

Without a second thought, Yunsung began walking around the room with his son still in his arms, and serenaded the newborn with GOT7’s Miracle.

[ BACKGROUND... ]

Kim Minhwi was born almost on Christmas day a couple of weeks earlier than planned. His parents were certainly surprised and very unprepared. His father wasn’t even in the country, travelling to the United States for a business trip, leaving his wife to give birth to their first son, though second child, all by herself. Though once he had learned of the broth of his son he travels straight home again. Though his father not being in the picture was going to be a rather regular thing in his life.

His parents were very high end, living in one of the richest areas of Gangnam, his father working as the CEO of a rather large company, meaning that he was always working and always away on very expensive business trips, leaving his wife and two kids by themselves. Not that Minhwi would have much free time to spend with his family, anyway.

As soon as he was old enough he was sent to one of the top all boy schools in the area, his parents fishing out thousands a month just for his education. And he was an incredibly hard working student, spending hours at school and then travelling to private study sessions for most of the night, only returning home again in the early hours of the morning for a couple of hours of sleep just to wake up and repeat the cycle again.

Simply put, most of his young teenage years were spent in a classroom or with his nose behind a book. And it was paying off as well, he was achieving high grades all through school, much to the relief of his parents and there wasn’t much of a worry how his CSAT would go just so long as he kept things up. Though Minhwi always knew that his parents had their eyes set on SNU and they were not likely to accept anything less, even if everyone was well aware of the high standards and low acceptance rates.

But he kept working, pushing himself even more and getting even less and less sleep, sometimes only managing to get in a half an hour nap before going to school again the closer they got to the exam date. But it all paid off in the end and he was reward with near perfect exam results, which then led to him being offered a place at SNU. A place he was rather quick to accept to study Physics.

But his life turned when he decided to treat himself to something different and decided to buy himself a FPV Drone. And boy did he get hooked almost instantly, spending hours just whizzing around Seoul, seeing everything through the eyes of his little drone. He also started getting mixed up in the growing FPV Drone Racing community. It was just a bit of fun, and while his parents didn’t really approve of this and wanted him to keep focusing on his studies, Minhwi promised them that this didn’t mean anything. The racing and the flying around was just a break from the studying and he would still perform well in the classroom.

And he stuck to his promise, managing to juggle the two things rather nicely while also branching into building and customizing his own drones. Though one night everything changed. He was sat flying his drone when he managed to come across a mugging down a dark alleyway. Though he was nowhere near at the time, he saw everything through his drone and managed to record the whole incident without the mugger ever knowing he was there. Of course, being the concerned citizen he was, he went straight to the SPD and handed the footage of the incident over and with his help, the mugger was arrested and sentenced.

That’s when he realized what he could do with his drone.

He started flying a lot more later at night, keeping a birds eye view over Seoul, though sooner or later he was bound to film something he wasn’t supposed to see. His drone managed to barge in on a confrontation between two gang members just as one decided to shoot the other. Though Minhwi managed to get out when he saw the gun turned towards his drone, he wasn’t thinking straight and it was quite easy for the gang member left standing to follow his drone right back to where he was camped out.

He was cornered, gun to his head and told a rather simply ultimatum. Either work for the gang, or have his brains splattered against the pavement.

Minhwi chose the first option, and that’s how he started doing reconnaissance and surveillance for the dark underbelly of Seoul’s gang scene. While they had hackers who could get into security cameras, Minhwi and his drones were a lot more mobile and could get into places where security camera’s simply could not. He became their eyes in the sky, all while jugging his schoolwork and staying active in the racing.

His life had quickly become a bit of a mess, but hey, he was coping. If he could get through high school with his sanity still in tact, then he was sure he could manage with this.

[ BEHAVIOR... ]

Minhwi is incredibly smart, he graduated high school as one of the top of the class and managed to get near perfect CSAT scores. Though he is not one to flaunt his intelligence, he rarely even mentions where he goes to university. Instead he’s a pretty approachable person, it’s rare you’ll find him without a smile on his face and he can get along with just about anyone. Though he is not all pleased about being stuck in a gang and helping the criminals rather than catching them, he’s content for the moment. It’s not like he’s putting himself directly into danger and he still gets the thrill and adrenaline rush of flying and the only casualty would be a drone and not himself. And it does make him a little smug to one up on the hackers stuck with their surveillance camera’s when he comes back with more useful information.

But this also does mean that he is incredibly competitive. He hates to lose anything and to be beaten by anyone. Even if it’s something he’s never done before he’ll always want to one and he’s known to be a little hot headed if he loses. He’s like a whole other monster when there’s a race on or a competition, and when he’s in the zone and completely focused, it’s probably best to keep your distance unless you want your head bitten off.
