I think it really is a testament to how good the storytelling in Kingdom Hearts is that it can make expected moments still feel significant and emotional. Like, even if I ignore the fact that I got spoiled on a lot of story-beats before I ever played the games: We knew that Xion would disappear at the end of Days. We knew that the Wayfinder trio would fall to darkness at the end of BBS. We knew that most of Xehanort's classmates would die, that Roxas would come back, that Sora would save Aqua etc and yet when it happens it's executed so well that it still feels as important as it should be. We know that Scala and the people living in it will probably be fucked at the end of Missing Link and we know that Sora will probably escape from Quadratum in KH4, but you bet I'll cry when it happens nonetheless

Imagine how LOUD Scala must've been for Xehanort when he first arrived, all of a sudden he's surrounded by stranger's thoughts, feelings and voices when all he's known before was being alone with his caretaker

Little Scala kids preview for @shatteredestiny-zine
PLEASE DO NOT REPOST, EDIT, OR USE ANY OF THESE PICTURES WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. ARTISTS WORK HARD ON THEIR DRAWINGS. WE DO NOT LIKE IT WHEN OUR WORK GETS STOLEN. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS ASK FIRST. THAT’S LITERALLY IT.

To think that, Ephemer left behind such a huge legacy that we see it even in the present day.
He founded a city, Scala ad Caelum, that lasted for over 900 years. The keyblade order he also (probably?) started may be reduced to a handful of wielders now but it’s still alive in the form of the Guardians of Light.
Master’s Defender was originally Ephemer’s keyblade that was passed down through the generations of keyblade wielders until it came to Eraqus. It later passed onto Aqua who wielded it temporarily in the Realm of Darkness and during the clash between the Guardians of Light and Seekers of Darkness in KH3. She also used it to lock and unlock the Land of Departure.
Ephemer is the reason that the keyblade wielders and the light survived after the fall of Daybreak Town.
Everything that we’ve seen is largely because of Ephemer.

I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone in the community talking about this. (Or maybe they have been, and I've somehow just missed it. ^_^')
All the kudos to OP for figuring this out.

Alright so I went through KH3 Scala Ad Caelum again and I noticed something I didn't pay a lot of attention to before: almost everywhere there are a lot of flags and banners etc that are either red, blue, or green.

Red seems to show up the most, often with some important-looking symbols:

Don’t you just hate it when you’re trying to discuss the philosophical properties of the heart and a bunch of pigeons flock to you?
This is an expansion of my Dark Road Doodles I did a few weeks back. I really liked how these two turned out, so I gave them a background and many, many more pigeons.
Will I ever draw Young Xehanort and Eraqus not interacting with birds of some variety? probably not, its too fun.

So since people have been hoping that Remus will have a brother named Romulus that will kill him, my khml speculation/theory is that Romulus will kill Remus (and probably parallel Baldr and Hoder) and will then go on to create the Scala that Eraqus and Xehanort lived in

I love the idea that of all the things that were foreign or confusing for Xehanort when he first arrived in Scala, the fish might have been one of them.
Like, no doubt there were fish on the Destiny Islands! But this is Scala Ad Caelum, and the species of fish they have readily available are wildly different. While he’s still adjusting after crash landing (presumably) in a different world, they offer him a meal and ask if he’ll eat fish. Of course he’ll eat fish. He’s been eating fish his whole life. And then they bring him a plate and he just sits there like “…even the FISH are different??”
Maybe occasionally there will be an overlap between species, but something that’s common in the Destiny Islands are rare for Scala, and vice versa. Scala has a healthy Oarfish population that swim between the islands every now and then, while Xehanort’s only heard about them in stories as sea serpents because they’re that rare. Meanwhile Xehanort has seen literal schools of this other fish that Scalan’s have only seen in library books.
