Your thoughts on the first episode of the new season? And can we talk about all those parallels? Also I'm loving the summer vibes!
I'm LIVING for the summer vibes! Doesn't everything feel like a breath of fresh air? I definitely feel like new life has been injected into the series. And that new location is so beautiful, I LOVE IT.
As for the episode, I thought it was masterfully done. You could tell Ayse was back and bringing the perfect mix of comedy, romance and drama. And the sparkle! The show sparkles again. The almost two and half hours flew buy, I was on the edge of my seat, and the performances from Hande and Kerem were amazing. Plus I just adore every moment between Serkan and his new nemesis (aka his secret daughter).
On the sober side, I don't care how jerky Serkan got while battling cancer, or how he may have pushed her away, nothing they've shown us so far even begins to justify Eda not telling him about Kiraz, and it certainly doesn't justify her continuing to lie when he's standing right in front of her making overtures (and her daughter is clearly longing for her father). Obviously, there are still many things we don't know and I'm sure there are many flashbacks to come, and Eda has been though so much, but still...I don't see how they will thread that needle and have Eda come out unscathed.
That being said, with this first episode they executed this story so well and it really does give new life to the series, so I won't dwell on the fact that Eda never would have done this. Never. We just have to move past it, accept that it's a soap opera plot device designed to give us an amazing second season packed with all sorts of amazing scenes and just enjoy every minute while it lasts.
(More under the cut)
I'll get to more on Edser later, as for everyone else... silliness abounds.
First... Erdem cheated on Leyla? WHAT!?!?! With whom? But I guess that was a clean way to explain Leyla leaving.
Engin and Piril, I love that Engin is staying home with their son, and that young actor is a cutie! As for Piril... GRRRRRR... she is still on my shitlist. Last time it was for betraying Eda (and Serkan) by enabling Selin's reign of terror, this time it's by betraying her friend and business partner Serkan! Good grief. If Piril just found out recently at the start of this project I could accept on her holding off because it's not her secret to run off and tell, but what I can't accept is her actively working against Serkan finding out. Even if in this episode she had gently said to Eda... "do you think maybe it's time you told him?" it would be a lot easier to swallow... but nope! She's acting like it would be the end of the world if Serkan found out. I sincerely hope that when everyone finds out and Engin finds out Piril knew, it causes problems between them. She deserves that.
She remains my second least favorite character. Who was my least favorite character this episode? Oh you know! Awful Ayfer is back! We got a reprieve from her in the last arc, but she's back to her annoying, controlling, Serkan-hating ways. Eda is a mother, an international award-winning landscape architect and business owner and she still has to lie to Ayfer because she's such a pain-in-the-ass? Watching her is going to be a trial.
Even though it feels like both Aydan and Ayfer were reset to zero character development, and Aydan has done worse (keeping the fact that Serkan was alive from Eda) I still find her a much easier character to take. Probably because Neslihan is a much better comedic actress, so she's a lot more entertaining. But... Aydan's been with Kemal for 5 years and hasn't told Serkan? WHY? I can't believe Kemal didn't give her an ultimatum years ago. I was loving, however, Serkan being in the way for both Aydan/Kemal and Engin/Piril. GOOD. Those people caused problems for him at one point or another or were in the way, it was nice to see him return the favor. I like Kemal and am still hoping they'll do a parallel "not knowing your father thing" and reveal he's Serkan's bio dad while Serkan is finding out he had a child he never knew about.
Melo and Seyfi were their awesome supportive, funny selves. It was great to see both of them, I'm so glad they stayed.
As for the new characters, love the kids. The new hotel manager is apparently ditzy and starstruck over Serkan, and I don't really understand how she's going to be integrated into the cast, but I love that she was used as a device to show us that Serkan has zero interest in any woman who is not Eda Yildiz. Eda's assistant seems like he'll be a fine side character. As for Burak, he seems harmless, obviously he has feeling for Eda that she does not reciprocate (fuck off Ayfer trying to push her on him) but hopefully they don't make him a psycho like Deniz. I did think he was a bit out of line to Serkan. Isn't that his cafe? And a customer has his glass spilled by a child in his care, and he insults him instead of apologizing? That is the worst customer service I've ever seen! He's a character that could wear on me quickly, we shall see. Kiraz can't help but be sassy because of genetics, but some of the adults in her life seem to be modeling rude behavior!
Now on to Eda and Serkan, I can't say enough about Hande and Kerem's acting in this episode. Phenomenal! They were both brilliant. Plus both are doing a great job working off of Maya (especially Kerem) those scenes were priceless. I don't often enjoy kids on shows, but so far I'm loving this dynamic.
As for Edser, while we don't know everything yet it feels like Serkan got to a point where he couldn't stand to see Eda in pain and putting her life on hold, he outright mentioned that she might not have graduated if they'd stayed together, and so that was part of the reason he reverted to his robot self and pushed her away. I'm going to guess she tried and tried and he was just unyielding. Saying he didn't want to get married or have kids in the harshest way possible. Perhaps even she went to tell him that she was pregnant and he went off on not wanting kids before she could even tell him. Time will tell.
At this juncture, my best guess is Eda's fear is rooted in rejection. It can't be that she thinks Serkan is a terrible person that doesn't deserve to know his child, or would be detrimental to Kiraz. However, she knows what it feels like to be rejected by Serkan, I'm sure she was beyond devastated, so I'm guessing now she's bent on protecting her daughter from feeling that same rejection. She fears if he found out, but wanted nothing to do with her, it would feel worse than him not knowing. She's not thinking clearly and perhaps it hasn't even occurred to her that the man she fell in love with is still under there and that man is fully capable of opening his heart wide to their child.
The fact that this child, a stranger to him, already has him wrapped around her little finger to the tune of being late to meetings while he waits for her to pick berries, speaks volumes.
The lies that Eda is telling Kiraz though... there is a fairy tale poetry to Eda saying her father is among the stars... but there was no way this would ever end well. Such a bad idea. Eda.... has made mistakes.
As for Eda and Serkan, their reunion was so bitter sweet. The way Serkan was sure he was hallucinating her and couldn't believe she was real, speaks to the fact that his thinking he saw her that morning was not an anomaly. It must happen all the time. She's never left his thoughts in 5 years. Especially since Engin makes it clear that women throw themselves at Serkan all the time, and he never bites. That's a lot of years celebrate, pining after a love he lost through his own actions. Though it's not that surprising that he didn't pursue other women, as he's never been a character who was motivated by sex. Which makes it hilarious that during his presentation that's where his mind was at, remembering their intimate times together. Serkan Bolat is an Edasexual.
Serkan seemed to want to brush past what happened between them, how they ended, but from Eda's pain, it's clear it was gut-wrenching and tragic and that's something he's going to need to recon with in the coming episodes. But how refreshing that they actually talked! That Eda actually expressed her pain to him! Wowza, that's a change from recent episodes when they didn't even have a proper conversation after he got his memory back.
The flashback scenes were a combination of pure brilliance and pain. Just rip out my heart why don't you. Serkan's angry reactions seem very believable for someone suffering what he was going through. I think it's typical to lash out at the person closest to you. And their fear and pain, their commitment to getting him better and seeing it through... those scenes were made all the more heartbreaking knowing that they didn't make it out the other side intact.
On a lighter note, I loved how even despite their intention and best efforts to remain closed off to one another, and away from one another, they couldn't. Physically, Serkan couldn't stay away, and every time Eda was in his presence you saw her resolve slip and her start to feel that old pull towards him. The fact that Eda thinks there's any way to keep this secret and get rid of him, she must just be in full panic mode and not thinking clearly. She's never going to shake him.
Thank goodness Serkan came back and actually issued a sincere apology for what he said at coffee. He definitely owed her one, but what was extraordinary is that it showed that the growth he went through when they were together didn't regress. He was able to apologize and explain that he was angry and hurt and that's why it happened. If you remember from the first time around, saying sorry was something he was just unable to do, so this felt big to me. He's not the same robot Bolat, she left an indelible mark on him.
As for him making her present her proposal, it's really not out-of-line for the professional relationship, however, we all know he did it just so he had an excuse to be around her. That man will take any excuse, plus he likes to get a rise out of her.
The dinner scene was breathtaking. How beautiful and achingly romantic was that setting? Wowza. And what a roller coaster of emotion those scenes were. It was great to watch them talk and laugh. Who didn't swoon when he deveined her shrimp and when she gave him fries? But we had to know it wouldn't last. Eda's speech had me breathless. Serkan had that coming, it hurt but it had to happen. What a relief to see them get things out in the open. Now I hope we get to see them really talk about what happened and why. Explain yourself Serkan!
As for the next episode, I was so hopeful that the Kiraz secret would be out after the final scene, but the first fragman makes it look like that's not going to happen, at least not at the start of the episode. My fear is that if Eda outright lies to him that just makes everything worse. The longer she keeps it from him, when they're back in each other's orbits and it's clear he's not running away, it makes her more and more at fault.
In any case, it looks like we're in for some fabulous scene so I look forward to the second episode!

What Turkish shows have you watched?
Oh golly, ain’t this a question.
Let’s see, I started with Kurt Seyit ve Şura sort of accidentally about 3 years ago, because I saw gifs and I thought Kivanç was the most beautiful man I had ever seen.  Never actually finished it because I found out how it ended and I rage quit.
Fast forward to this summer, saw a few gifs of SCK, and fell hard.  Got obsessed fast, and I’ve been live watching since November.  It’s a complete dumpster fire and I hate it now, but we are in a toxic relationship so I can’t leave, even if I stopped watching the episodes with subs over a month ago.
Since getting into SCK, I’ve watched:
Şeref Meselesi: Absolutely stunning.  A true masterpiece. Heartbreaking and beautiful and overwhelming, and I will never truly get over it.  Yiğit Kılıç is one of those characters who will stay with me for a long time.  Compelling characters, beautifully shot and told, super tight narrative.  It was art.  Cannot recommend enough.
Meryem: Absolutely adored it.  Tight narrative, satisfying story, and surprising characters--it has the best foursome of any show and my current favorite family.  It was predictable but also surprising, it has arguably the best male dizi character, and the main couple is just stunning together.  It was one of those shows that you finish and immediately want to watch again.  I’d put it up there as one of my favorite shows period, not just favorite dizi.
Bu Şehir Arkandan Gelecek: I loved Kerem in this (Ali is a ray of sunshine) and I really enjoyed his story with with his family and the arc his character took, but the two girls drove me up the wall.  I can still hear Derin whining if I close my eyes.  Still, he’s beautiful in it (he boxes, so there are many shirtless scenes and lovely workout moments) so I’d recommend it on that alone.  Not one I’d rewatch tbh.  Good for a one time through.
Kiralık Aşk: I did not finish this one.  Got about 24ish episodes in, and just wasn’t feeling it.  I didn’t really care for the drawn out secret plotline, and while I liked the main couple, it wasn’t enough to keep my attention.  Good, but I didn’t have the patience to last through another 40 episodes tbh. When @lolo-deli rewatched, she sent me screencaps and gifs and YouTube videos of the highlights from the bits I missed, bc she’s the best lol.
Erkenci Kuş: Much like KA, I did not finish this one.  Wasn’t a huge fan of the main couple to start, didn’t really love any of the side characters, and after reading about where it went, noped out by the 20th episode or so.  (This is likely a sign I should stop watching romcoms on episode 20).
Ariza: I really like this one initially, but then I sort of forgot I was watching it?  Like, it wasn’t bad, but just wasn’t enough to keep me coming back week after week.  I adore  Ayça Aysin Turan though, she’s flawless.
Maraşlı: Just started this one (only 3 episodes in).  I like it so far--different sort of genre and feel, but really well done, and definitely draws you in.  You really have to pay attention, so I’m moving slower with this one because I don’t want to miss stuff.  So far, so good!
Her Yerde Sen: Also just started this one.  I’m 4 episodes in on this one, and I’m really liking it so far!  Definitely a better female lead for me than EK (I liked Defne in KA but she got on my nerves after a while with the mess) and I really like the main couple--they are cute and quirky together, but they feel more like equals, which I really appreciate (it’s what drew me to SCK initially too).  Furkan Andiç is dreamy, and while it does mostly make me miss his character in Meryem (Savaş, the love of my life) I’m enjoying him in this too.  And since it’s only 20 episodes, I’m thinking this is a romcom I might actually finish!
So, that’s all for now.  There was one I watched one episode of and stopped bc I googled the end (good rule of thumb with dizis is to know how they end--see my poor SCK) but yeah.  I’m sure this list will just keep growing--these shows are addicting, and since Western media has let me down lately, it’s where I’ll be for the foreseeable.  Only flaw in the ointment is my inability to speak Turkish, but it’s hardly gonna stop me 🤣
Aren’t you glad you asked?
(None of this is my fault btw. Technically all of this can be blamed on @sweetrupturedlight since I saw gifs for both KSvS and SCK on her blog and she told me about them. and then @lolo-deli has impeccable dizi taste so she gave me Meryem and SM and BSAG and HYS...)

PART TWO (Sinan x Osman)
part one
things escaletes a little.
.
For awhile nothing happened, nothing that indicated that night where Osman tended Sinan's wounds on the bench was real.
There had been a few occurances where his gaze lingered a little too long Sinan's recovering hands and maybe Sinan seemed less like a jerk who only opposed his ideas. He still talked back and called Osman's pragmatic plans out but his tone was gentler, maybe. Maybe Osman imagined a faint smile when he helped Sinan get up from the ground, holding on to his hands and feeling the scar tissue for a moment. It might all be in his head or it might mean nothing but the sense of belonging to somewhere kept increasing as the gang got closer and Osman paid no attention to him.He tried not to pay attention to him but his mind was spirilling, really.
More and more lately he had started to wake up earlier. He would peel some carrots, prepare some cucumbers with salt, dried fruits as snacks. Because he noticed everything, and he noticed the way Eda was not eating much, especially anything that was unhealthy. Well, besides alcohol of course. It was less complicated then Sinan because Eda only insisted on not eating a couple of times before caving and grabbing a few pieces of carrots. These kind of small things pushed Osman through. He loved being in control and he loved being able to make himself useful.Sinan on the other hand, was obsessed with not accepting any help from others. When Osman played the nurse and patched Kerem and Sinan up for the first time, it had taken the rest of the gang to beg him to let Osman do it. He had only caved after Osman had helped Kerem, maybe he had felt like it was normal for their group of friends.
Until the night where Sinan had called him and everything had went out of control, Osman was always tentative when it came helping Sinan. He made the spare sandwiches but never gave them directly to Sinan. Sometimes he had to put ingridients that he knew Sinan wouldn't like, just to give the impression that it was not meant for him. That night did change somethings after all. Osman got bold and made the sandwich just as the way Sinan liked it. Offered to take of his bandages the next day and cleaned them out gently.
He even went as far out to grab Sinan's bottle to take a swing while they were chatting after school. Sinan was not a person that would deny a request to share his drink but Osman hadn't asked, just taking the bottle and starting drinking in mid conversation. He held on to it for couple of minutes and when he gave it back, it was almost empty.Sinan glared at him and pulled the bottle back into his pocket. From the way he had tensed, Osman could guess his next move so he slided his hand over the bench and placed it on his knee, pushing down a little.
"Don't go," he said simply, his voice was overshawdowed by Işık'a and Kerem's heated voices.
Sinan was holding the edge of the bench, his fingers curling around the hard wood until his knuckles were white. For a moment, Osman waited for Sinan to get up and leave and tell him to fuck off, ran towards the nearest shop to refresh his bottle. Yet, Sinan stayed and Osman's hand lingered on his knee for a bit longer than intented.
He was playing a dangerous game and but it was too much fun. For someone who was mixed with gambling and the joys of betting, he had never truly understood the appeal until now. He had no interest in thing that were uncertain, yet, he kind of saw the appeal of the danger, the nervousness that came with a good game.
.
After that it was small gestures.
Brushing Sinan’s hair back in the school garden or sitting a bit too close on the couch, helping each other to get up from the ground with a hand. Simple things that nobody would pay attention to but Osman did. First, because it was Osman and he noticed every little detail. Second, it was Sinan and every detail meant something when it came to him. Osman did not understand the nature of this game and he couldn’t estimate the outcome- it was very stressfull. However he was playing a little less attention to his businesses. He was feeling a little more motivated to go to school. He helped his parents with house work a little more often. It was because of the gang. And maybe, because of the game too.
.
Yet the game did not escalated for a while. That was until one day, he was chased by a group of highschoolers.
It was an ordinary friday where he skipped the 5th class that was before the lunch break because he simply hated chemistry and took a walk to the grocery store near by. Picking some fresh fruits according to everyone's favorites (Eda had called him a freak for remembering this small detail but she was smiling bright as she munched on her cherries the first time he had done it.)
He got a little from everything and ignored the shop keepers’ curious glance, smiling to himself as he moved on to green apples. He hated them, too sour for his taste, he had a sweet tooth but he grabbed a few for Sinan. How fitting, his favorite fruits were all the ones that made you grimace at the first bite but a lot of people couldn't stop eating. There was a faint smile on his lips and he was whistling a familiar melody as he was walking back to school with his hands full with bags. It was nearly the end of season for strawberries and it was a shame. Osman loved the summer and loved strawberries- they were Kerem’s favorite too.
The last days of tshirt wheatwer was kind to his skin and he was happy without a reason. Thus, he was careless and it was too late when he spotted them in the distance, recognizing them from right away though.
“We want our money back.” There were four of them and the tallest one of the group was speaking.
Osman stopped immidietly and placed a fake yet polite smile on his face. “As it was established, the game was not rigged. However, I do believe that we can come to-“
“Are we gonna let this one talk our ears off again?” One of them spat and he looked angry. Well, this was an unpleasant situation.
“We want our money back, now,” the first boy muttered with more confidence now.
Osman trusted his ability talk his way out of things but he was not too prideful to accept defeat and flee the scene. His pride came from the way he trusted the ability to act rationally and his instincts told him start running. It also told him to drop the bags as they were slowing him down but momentarily, he wanted to trust his luck, maybe he could get away with the fruits.
Osman had never been a lucky person though, that's why he was logical. He tripped and almost hit his head on the ground. The last minute he was able to protect his face with his hands and he quickly got up, fruits were scattered all around the street and he had smashed the cherries with his torso. He got up quickly and sprinted, thank God he had freakishly long legs and didn't spare a glance to the people that were chasing him.
He saw the school's entrance and almost smiled, he was so tired but with the last ounce of strenght in his muscles he held on to the bars, pulled himself up, prying that those idiots were not idiots enough to follow him into the school ground and he jumped.
His balance was off and he yelped in pain as he landed the ground with a thud and fell forward. It was almost the end of 5th period and he tried to pull himself together without a teacher catching him but as he got up, he grimicad with the sharp pain coming from his left anckle and he grimiced as he pushed himself forward. He almost hopped, rather slowly towards their usual hide out at the backyard away from prying eyes but students were starting to come out the second the bell had rang. He bit his lip and ignored curious glances, it was until he heard his name being called.
"Osman, oh my God! What happened?" Işık was running towards him with full force with wide eyes, always so dramatic.
Osman understood the severity of the situation when even Kerem almost sprinted towards him with worry on his face. He glanced down and saw the red stain on his usually perfectly white shirt and sighed. Before he could clearify, the whole gang was by his side, Sinan was the last on to arrive but he was the first one to push them aside and hold on to him by the arms.
"Where is the wound? Can you walk? Do you-"
"Hey, hey! Slow down. I'm okay, its just a stain from the cheeries," he shrugged off.
Eda inhaled sharply. "Goddammit, he is delusional."
Osman let out a chuckle and tried to reassure them standing tall, putting his weight on his right and showed his torso by untucking his partly messed up shirt. "See? I'm fine. I just ran for five minutes straight let me sit down first to tell the story before any teachers come around and asks questions."
Everyone seemed relieved after that but Işık was still eying him suspiciously. He took a step forward with confidence but his limping was clear as the day even if the way his face twisted was not.Sinan was by his side in no time, wrapping an arm around his waist and encouraging him to loop an arm around his shoulder to help him up. Osman tilted his head to catch his eye but Sinan was not looking at him, he was able to smell the booze coming out of him though.
They started to walk away and people stopped giving them stares since Kerem was there to stare right back at them. Osman gasped with pain several times and everytime he did, Sinan's fingers dug into his skin as if he wanted to hold him tighter. "Aren't you going to carry me? Bridal style? I deserve a piggy back ride at least," he muttered once the others decided get food, water and some medical supplies to patch him up.They were almost there and Sinan huffed, tilting his head to spare a glance.
"You are bit too heavy for that, princess."Osman chuckled, he was a bit too tired for banter and he couldn't help but hiss as he sat down, leaning back against the cold concreate. His mind was racing with several different thoughts all at once, chasing each other and tangling into a bigger mess than his life was with questions to be answered and plans to be made.
He came to his senses when Sinan brushed the back of his hand against his. He turned his head towards him and almost liked the worry in his stare. He always liked when Sinan's face held some type of emotion other than disinterest. He looked calmer now though, his hair was a bit messier than usual perhaps.Sinan grabbed his hands and rotated it to examine, turned his palm upwards at the end and stared at the cuts. Osman hadn't even realized them, he must've had them when he fell down.
"You're not gonna play the nurse, are you? Because I don't want to burst your buble but I kind of do not trust you to attend to my wounds."
"Shut up," was the only response he got.He didn't say anything while Sinan poured a bottle of water on his hands to clean them, the cuts were not deep anyway. "I can pour some alcohol on them. They could get infected."
Osman didn't say anything, while Sinan opened the bottle and poured a little, pain jolted in his body and he gasped. Sinan held on to his hand and didn't yield even though Osman had yanked them back instinctively. "Its okay, its over now," he said softly and did the other hand.
The pain went as fast as it came, it stunk a little but he felt fresher. His hand throbbed with the aftermath and his ankle ached a bit but he was okay. His shoulders relaxed and he slid a bit down on the bench, closing his eyes as he rested. "I could get used to not being the nurse for once."
"Well, I liked the previous arrangement better," Sinan stated and Osman opened his eyes. Before he could remark Sinan was continiuning to speak. "A lot of people become doctors because they have a God complex. They want to be the saviour, to have that kind of power. But seeing people in pain even when you're helping is agonizing."
Osman was waiting for a punchline, for Sinan'a little pep talks to circle back to something cynical. It didn't and Sinan avoided his gaze.
"I'm sorry," Sinan said. Osman was too confused to react, he almost shivered when Sinan touched his hand, turning it upwards to take a closer look. "Maybe I should use your methodology and-"
"What are you sorry-"
They both had to stop talking as the others came back. The warmth he was feeling on his left side was gone and that's when he realized they were sitting close in the first place. The warmth in his face remained.
"Here, my spare shirt," Kerem pushed a wrinkled shirt into his hands.
"Why do you have a spare shirt? I thought only goody goods had spare uniforms in their lockers."
"Hey, there is nothing wrong being prepared," Işık stated and Eda rolled her eyes.
“My case stands.”
"I mess a shirt up every week or so," Kerem clerified.
Osman had always been the caregiver. He was the one that remembered little details and paied attention and took care of others. Yet, he did like the recieving end of stuff as he ate the sandwich that Eda had brought. Işık had bandaged his ankle and he was laughing as he wore Kerem's shirt, complaining about the wrinkles as he straightened his tie back.
"Remember that bet I had a week ago and the guys were insistent that the game was rigged-"He told the story and he felt okay, he couldn't help but feel a little warmer everytime Sinan touched him casually though, stroking his knee, touching his arm, brushing past his hand... Two could play this game.
.
i think there will be one more part where we finally get whats going on with sinan and his actions will make sense. or i am delusional and there will be two more, i’m not sure yet. funfact for the 3 people that are reading: my grandfather was hit by a car and it was very harmless but he had been carrying cheeries. his shirt was tainted and it looked like blood, causing everyone around to panic lol , the idea came to out of nowehre to be written into a random fic. let me know what you think!

AFILI ASK EPISODE 9 / FAVORITE SCENES - Part II
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kerem: You are a good, pretty and nice girl, but you are always annoying. No one will be fond of you. This is my friendly advice. Mind your manners, or else you would end up being single forever. Ayşe: I think there can be always someone who will like me the way I am. Also, there was your friend Uğur. He fancied me, a lot actually. Do you want me to tell you what he said to me while showing his liking?
Oh my, checkmate man! She is always one step ahead of him. Taking none of his shits and answering back him gracefully. Go girl, you're gonna beat him!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When they fell into the pool accidentally...She panicked and tried to hold onto him.
Kerem: Stop, stop! What are you doing? Don't you know how to swim? Ayşe: I do, but I got scared! Kerem: Okay, okay, don't get panicked. You're gonna make me a hero in a 5 feet pool.
Lol, even in that state, he says something funny.
And then...ta-da!
Tumblr media
Okay, this is romcom cliches vol.82891, I know but still it's a feast for my eyes. *lol*
Meanwhile Volkan...

This is the surprise moment of the episode. Maybe because of this or maybe the softness and sincerity in that scene, it caught me off guard.
He offered to dry her hair and she nonchalantly said okay, both of them didn't show any emotion, like this was just an ordinary thing but his tenderness susprised both of them. Yes, I think he surprised himself too, because he actually enjoyed and liked holding her hair and drying it. And maybe, he really liked doing something for her. He isn't aware of it, but lately he has been thinking about her well-being. First he gave up his bed for her (she rejected it, though), then he offered to give her a ride to the cemetary and now this.
I can imagine when he gives into his feelings for her finally, he will adore her in every possible way. And we'll get regular cute things, yaaay!

Sometimes the rehersal can be better than the actual scene. And this is just a proof to that exception.
Probably this is the first time we saw Kerem so lost in her eyes. This guy, bossy, having a devil-may-care attitude, not taking anything seriously, could only murmur a "hmmm" when she asked if it was okay to put her hand on his neck.
Who could ever imagine that the tiger would turn into a kitten some day?

Merhaba friends - SCK episode 35 asks
(Fragman 36 ask at the end)
Apologies to those of you who sent asks for last week’s episode and I didn’t answer them. The week got away from me and then suddenly it was show day, the episode aired, and the asks were no longer relevant. Even if I didn’t answer I appreciate you reaching out!
Anonymous said: I’m dying to know what you thought.
While my ego would like to think that there are a variety of subjects that people might seek out my thoughts on, I’m going to guess you want to know what I thought of episode 35.
I had a mixed reaction. I liked a lot of things, loved a lot of things, there were some things I found disappointing, and a few characters I wanted to strangle. So let’s explore from that perspective.
Liked:
Romcom feel was back. It felt lighter and was easier to watch than a lot of eps in this arc.
Aydan, Ayfer and Seyfi working together to unite the kids. They were actually funny and trying to do the right thing, even if their methods were a bit morally gray.
Serkan and Eda’s photo on outdoor advertising and on the cover of magazines. We’ll ignore how quick the turnaround was to get those photos up, it was just plain fun to watch Serkan see himself on his drive into work and be embarrassed and aggravated by the whole thing, while there was also a little spark of excitement from him in being linked to Eda like that. That was enjoyable.
Melo is always the best bestie and Ayfer didn’t suck as an aunt!
LOVED:
Most every individual Edser scene.
Serkan out-of-his head with worry, planning to jump into the frigid sea, even though he wouldn’t have any shot of saving her that way. That’s my ride-or-die, protective romantic robot!
Serkan making faces as Eda plans her wedding. Excellent work from Kerem here.
Eda buttoning up Serkan’s shirt. That was hot. It was also hot that he just let her.
Sekan buttoning up Eda’s dress (get a room kids and start going the other way... unbuttoning, UNBUTTON) This scene was emotional and the sexual tension!
Serkan clutching his chest. The poor boy was about to have a panic attack right there. Follow through, writers, give him the full fledged panic attack!
The hair caught in the button (There’s that button again!) sequence. it was funny and sexy and made Selin into a foolish, immature third wheel. I’m all for it.
Serkan apologizing to Eda for Selin, that was big because up til now he hasn’t really recognized how awful Selin is in most situations. He has blinders when it comes to her, mostly because he doesn’t pay attention, so it was satisfying to see him acknowledge her bad behavior.
EVERY MOMENT AT THE BOLAT HOUSE. That was a great sequence, and IMO we mostly have Hande and Kerem to thank for it and not the writers. They brought it to life and obviously a lot of it was on them to just figure out what to do in the scene.  I loved that Serkan saw Eda amongst the flowers in that painting. Swoon!  their conversation about how they were both hungry was hilarious. Every moment with them fixing the sandwiches was gold and then it just got better from there. With him being willing to share food, to the throwback “mesala” conversation to her listening to his heart. All so... so... good.
However, while we definitely deserved those nice, long, funny, heartwarming scenes, I must say the writers didn’t use them to their fullest potential. How did the night end? How did they part? Why was no progress made after spending the night that way?  If the writers were even half decent at their job they would have had Serkan confess some feelings while high, but not remember in the morning thus giving us the parallel with episode 11 when he was sick. Eda would have felt defeated when he didn’t remember, again, and it would have made more sense why she thought the fake wedding was her last shot at getting through to him.
Characters I’m mad at:
Ceren knows the whole episode that Deniz loves Eda, she knows he’s being weird about it, she makes up with Eda, and stills says nothing? WTF?
Engin makes it to the wedding, he knows Serkan has his memories back and he doesn’t stop the wedding to let Eda know before she says yes? WTF?
Ferit allegedly has the photos and he thinks the wedding is real, but he doesn’t show Eda the photos so she has a better idea of what she’s getting into? WTF?      (though through that whole Ferit/Selin scene I wondered if Ferit was just playing along with Selin, trying to get info out of her and he’s not really the one who has the photos. Time will tell. )
Selin/Deniz- Obvious, psychos, I need them freaking gone. How Deniz can claim to love Eda, but sit there and watch her look devastated and cry her eyes out at the thought of fake marrying him, while knowing he’s about to pull a disgusting trick is unfathomable. He needs to be committed.
Disappointing:
To be clear, I no longer care, but I can’t believe how badly they flubbed this storyline. That? That was the payoff for the hell we’ve been put through for 7 weeks? Wow talk about not worth it and anti-climactic. I’m not going to go on about all the ways they failed, but I could.
While I fully believe that Serkan fell back in love with Eda before he got his memories back (see this post) he should have confessed to Eda before he got them back. That was the whole point of this entire storyline and they carried that the entire time, but then fumbled the ball at the 1 yard line. Good grief, these writers are bad.
Serkan gets his memories back, he knows time is of the essence, and he still is torn and has to think about it? WHAT? Just no. Ridiculous. I realize they did it for maximum suspense, but they shouldn’t have. They really shouldn’t have.
That was their reunion after all we’ve been through? Come on, writers, step it up. I realize we no longer have the writers that gave us his love declaration in 11 or Eda’s and Serkan’s proposals, or their make up scene in 28 or their goodbye scene in 28, but this was lackluster.
So, in summation, there was a lot that I really enjoyed, I thought the episode flowed better than some of the others in this arc, and lots of great individual Edser moments, it’s just the way they flubbed the whole storyline. I’m just so glad the amnesia is over, that thankfully I don't really care.
Anonymous said: when pushed by engin and aydan multiple times in the episode he never denies he ISN'T in love with her and rather skirts around the issue and deflects with "she's marrying deniz!" which should be proof enough he fell in love with her especially considering in 29 he was telling eda that "there was no such thing as love" between them. it was almost reminiscent of eda in 10/11 where she doesn't tell him her feelings bc she believes he wants selin, this time in reverse bc he believes she's moved on.
This came in response to this ask, and yes I agree. I should have hit that point harder, that Engin and Aydan ask him and he never denies it. When this arc started he would have denied it in a flat second.
He fell in love with her again, full stop. It’s just a shame that they didn’t make it the entire crux of his love confession, we deserved to see that. Just one of the many ways the writers dropped the ball with this storyline.
Anonymous said: The whiplash we got going from 26-28 to the drag of 29-35 though. 🤦🏼‍♀️ and you really could cut out that entire storyline and you wouldn’t be missing anything because really nothing happened. They didn’t even have Serkan stopping Eda before he got his memories back to fulfill a basic assumed foreshadowing. Like....huh?
I don’t want to be negative, but it’s crazy to me that they sped through wedding prep at a lightning pace and then went through this painful amnesia storyline at a snail’s pace. They should have had at least 5 episodes of wedding prep, doing just one pre-wedding activity per episode, but kept Babaanne around to create the drama. I wanted at least one episode of them back together, but keeping it secret so they could work against her. We were robbed of that!
Anonymous said: I know we’ve been hating a lot on the new writers but the showrunner still has to sign off on these scenes right? And it’s been the same one this whole time. What has she been thinking? Maybe the writers didn’t do their homework but surely she can tell that scenes being very out of character wouldn’t make sense?
Bold of you to assume there’s a showrunner as we know them on a Hollywood show. I assume you’re talking about Asena, but I always think of her more of a cross between an EP and a network exec. A bit more removed than a showrunner.  I have no idea who the guiding light of this show is since Ayse left. The production timelines are so tight, I don’t think there’s time to review scripts and reject them. Sometime I think it’s a wonder anything makes sense at all.
Anonymous said: I see you've giffed some of the edser "questionable positions" bookshelf scene. (Awesome gifs btw). Honestly, that entire scene was really funny, with the rest of the art life crew jumping in. Even Selin made me laugh when she came in there and said "how did her hair get stuck?!" and Serkan very sarcastically replied with something like "I wound it up in there, what do you think??" Not to mention all the very close face talking that was going on!
Great scene! Here’s the gif set you’re referring to.  I suppose the writers proved they could do fun, and romantically comedic scenes if they want to. More like this, please.

With these past 5 (?) episodes with these last set of writers, I truly believe that they did not go back to watch SCK at all before writing. Any past references were probably given to them on a checklist or something. Like I don't know if they even watched episode 28 with how they ended up doing away with the memory loss. Its kind of astounding how much they dropped the ball. Hopefully the rumors of new writers are true and they get enough episodes to give us a good ending to this story!
This came in right after the episode, but unfortunately, we learned today that we are apparently not getting new writers, at least not for episode 36.I was fully convinced we were since Sefkat (the production company twitter admin) liked Yasin’s post when he said we’d be getting all new writers for 36. Normally I don’t believe anything Yasin says because he has lied so many times that any info he actually has just comes across as a clock being right twice a day.  However, when she liked it, I found that convincing.  Also the way they cancelled shooting on Saturday and H/K were in for a meeting on Friday. Seemed like it was all adding up. We’ll see, maybe there will be new ones for 37??
As for not watching what came before, it certainly feels like they only skimmed and watched certain scenes and didn’t do a deep dive on the series. Watching all the eps in full should be a requirement before they start the job. I always feel they are  just off with Serkan’s characterization, they don’t quite get him and they turn him a bit into a cardboard cutout of early Serkan. It’s like the character sketch outline of Serkan, but with no depth.
Anonymous said: When I saw the character description of the new cast member added to the show I was like "great, another possible screen space filler in regards to Aydan" but after watching the episode, I was actually really intrigued by his character. I know there's a bunch of theories out there that Serkan is actually his son, which I don't really buy into right now, but nevertheless he was a real potential to be a father figure in Serkan's life... and maybe the only guest character to not be a villain lol.
I’ll tell you this, that casting makes it seem like they at least want us to think he’s Serkan’s father.  He’s way better looking that Alptekin and he just looks like he could genetically be responsible for the magnificence that is Serkan.
We’ll see what they do. I think it could be interesting, just because until Serkan met Eda he was so invested in being “Serkan Bolat” that having his identity shaken like this would be seismic for him. It could create some really good drama for him in all his relationships without tearing apart Edser. Also, if Alptekin knew it would go along way in explaining that relationship. Alptekin always demanding perfection and the cold way he sent him away to boarding school. It would explain why he could never earn his father’s love or approval, and that knowledge might give him some peace.
In addition, and a big plus, it would mean that his biological father was NOT responsible for the deaths of Eda’s parents.
Anonymous said: 1/ everyone for weeks was waxing poetic and had super detailed headcannons of how serkan would remember in really specific ways when he realized he was in love, something that ayfer kinda poked fun of at the beginning of the ep talking about the fake wedding, but i was genuinely laughing out loud at serkan and engin accidently getting into a fight and him yelling throughout it that he remembers and engin pushing him in front going "can you give him one good hit?!" lmaoo
2/ getting a good hit to the end to unscramble your brain that is already giving you flashbacks is more actually more realistic than the usual fairytale way.. sure, less romantic, but definitely more realistic. the man was already in love with her, super confused on what to do since he genuinely thought she was marrying deniz, and was already having flashes, all he really needed was good hit in the head lol. maybe eda should've kept going when they were boxing 😂
I like your take on it.
Anonymous said: i think they saw the fandom complaining week after week that there was too much heaviness/drama in their romcom and said "so you guys want romcom? here i'll give you full on romcom" which is what i thought this episode was! and i really appreciated such a fun ep overall to watch to bring this otherwise really sad and emotion heavy memory loss plot to an end.
Yes, the episode was a lot more fun than most that had come before it. If only they could have tied it all together.
Anonymous said: Something that just occurred to me that's so crazy in addition to wrapping an episode days before it airs, is that in Turkish television, a series has like 1 permanent director and a small writing team that writes ALL of the episodes. In US TV, that's pretty much unheard of - different writers rotate owning each episode and the same director will shoot maybe 2-3 episodes at most a season. The production turnaround time is so short that it's insane that we don't hear of more last-minute delays
I know, I think about this all the time. It’s crazy to me that there’s only one director. Which is why there’s not a lot of added layers to this show.  When a director just has one episode on their plate and they spend a couple of weeks prepping to direct, every shot, every angle, every bit of set dressing can be meaningful. This show doesn’t have that kind of visual depth.  On the other hand you do get a director that knows the actors and crew inside and out and they all have a short hand which allows them to get to what they want faster and easier. That can’t be replicated with directors who come in for one episode.
Anonymous said: Over the past month or so, I’ve been seeing so many people cancel Serkan and wanting Eda to leave him forever and move away, but she really never gave up on him and she might finally get him back this week 😭 in fact, Eda and Melo are the only people we’ve seen who have tried to help get his memories back! Everyone who has been friendly to Selin can disinvite themselves to the Edser wedding
I’m glad I didn’t see a bunch of this nonsense myself.  But, honestly, anyone who wants Eda to leave and not end up with Serkan... why are they watching this show to begin with? Did they take a wrong turn somewhere? How did they last this long watching it? We’re 35 episode in and this entire show is their love story, beyond that story and it being a vehicle to showcase Hande and Kerem’s awesome chemistry, it really doesn’t offer many other reasons to watch.
And yes to jettisoning anyone who was friendly with Selin. PIRIL I’M LOOKING AT YOU. I sure hope Piril finds out exactly how low Selin will sink. She needs to feel ashamed for welcoming her back without question.
Anonymous said: That fragman for ep 36...part of me wants to hope that it will all be solved pretty soon, since we got edser separated for so long we deserved them together now. But part of me also knows these writers suck so I’m expecting the worst. I just wanted edser together again 😭
I know. When I saw the full fragman my initial reaction was to yell “WHY CAN’T WE HAVE NICE THINGS!!!!!!!”  But I’ve calmed down now.
It seems to me that we have Serkan and Eda together and working together to figure this mess out, which is good. we have romantic walks on the pier, and Eda spending the night at his place and a sweet breakfast setting with Eda in jammies. All good.
But then we also have Selin and Deniz refusing to quit.  Selin comes up with the plan that if Deniz doesn’t sign the papers in time, then they will have to get a divorce which means Eda can’t marry for 300 days. So then, what? Deniz steals Serkan’s car and goes on the run?
What they hope to accomplish with this, I don’t know. Because even if they succeed and Serkan and Eda can’t get married right away, it’s not like they’ll just magically decide that they want to be with those two psychos instead.  I can see Selin doing it just for revenge so she can make them miserable, but what’s Deniz’ motivation? The further psycho he goes, the worse Eda will think of him. Bizarre.
As for the pregnancy thing. It sounds like Eda must hear that from someone. My money is on Deniz. That’s his Hail Mary to try and drive a wedge between Serkan and Eda. Because seemingly when Eda brings it up, Selin asks where did you hear that. Also, phew, Eda says right away that if its true that Sekan deserves to know, which hopefully will clear things up (because the writers showed us over and over and over again that they weren’t sleeping in the same bed) and it will show Serkan just what kind of crazy he’s dealing with.
Anonymous said: I was pretty excited after watching the fragman, but surprised when I went on twitter and saw that almost everyone was really upset by it. I’m sure most people know Selin isn’t actually pregnant, but they all still somehow hate the storyline (possibly bc they think it’ll drive edser apart?) idk am I crazy for thinking that we’ll still get good edser moments and them staying together and fighting together? I guess the show needs drama to continue but I’m not mad because I think good edser will outweigh bad/miscommunication edser.
I’m sure we’ll get good Edser moments, but I can’t really fault anyone for being extremely annoyed by this fragman. I think this little plot point will end up not being a big deal at all, however, I can see how it feels like a kick in the face after what we’ve been through the last 7 episodes. It’s like can we get one happy episode? Just one?
Also it’s just very uncomfortable. I’m in the camp that currently thinks it’s impossible for her to be pregnant because they haven’t slept together. He was too fragile and injured before they came back to Istanbul (sleeping on the couch with his PTSD) and after he was too confused and consumed by Eda and just uninterested in Selin. I have to believe they kept showing us them not spending the night in the same place for a reason.
However, if they were to have had sex, it’s very unsettling because it’s a little too close to him not being able to give consent. It’s Rape by Deception. He had a brain injury, amnesia, was suffering a myriad of traumas and was not in his right mind. He did not have the full set of facts on where their relationship stood, but she did (she knew he wanted nothing to do with her and told her he never loved her and didn’t even want to be friends) and instead of being honest she abused him. She lied to him. She didn’t tell him the truth about what had happened. She isolated him from anyone who could tell him the truth and manipulated him into thinking that she was the only person in the world he could trust and the person he loved and trusted most was untrustworthy and an enemy.
However, as the audience we know the things she’d done in the past to abuse his trust, and we know for certain if he remembered, he would never consent to sleep with her. Never. So even beyond the cheating and the romance it would rob us of if they did have sex, it’s ICKY and GROSS and none of us want to even think of it.  I don’t expect TV writers in Turkey to be on the forefront of thought when it comes to issues of consent, so I’d rather this door just not be opened at all.
But here we are, they opened it. Now all we can do it hope that it is a device to hear Serkan say that it isn’t impossible and for Selin to be fully exposed as completely unbalanced and a lying, manipulator.
Anonymous said: the fandom by use of sheer will forced this selin plot line into existence LOL. i swear since the beginning of the memory plot in 29, the "selin will lie to eda she's pregnant" rumor has been constantly making rounds, and i guess it's time to cash in. i will say that i've seen ppl thinking know that somehow serkan and her were intimate even though she's clearly lying.. guys, if there was even a POSSIBILITY she would've used this way back before now and would have told everyone, including serkan.
I agree with this. If this was a card she could play with Serkan, she’d play it. She’s been getting more and more desperate. And in the fragman there she is coming up with ways for Deniz to run away so he can’t sign the papers. If there was something she could hold over Serkan, she would, She’s not because then the con would be up, we’ll just have to wait and see how big of a lie she’s willing to tell.
Anonymous said: I wonder if Selin was a spy when she was younger! That woman is always watching everything from her car! Even in the new trailer.
Ha! Let’s hope that in the end she’s not a very good spy and they finally get one over on her. Oh please oh please oh please let the stable boy be the one who has the photos and let him have more on her. I want there to be tons of photos of her in her car spying on them. That would be so humiliating for her.
Seriously, though, who knows what happened to Selin to make her the way she is. Frankly, I don’t think my assessment of her has really changed (most of my old posts on her are tagged with “anti Selin”) She’s just a spoiled, selfish, entitled brat who thinks she should get anything and everything she wants. If she wants Serkan, she should have him, doesn’t matter what he wants or who she hurts, she’ll do whatever she has to do to make that happen. She was probably never told no as a child. So when she’s thwarted she thinks she’s entitled to whatever reaction she wants to have, if that’s ruining other people’s lives, so be it.  No one can be happy if she’s not.

Edser / Sen Cal Kapimi ep 30+ asks
(Asks under the cut)
@jan31 Hi Liza, in the fragman Selin was in a white dress, was it a wedding dress?
Hello! I don’t think so. I think that’s what she was going to wear to the dinner she’d planned for the four of them (from the fragman, Eda, Serkan, Deniz and herself) but BOOM goes the MELO. Thank you Melo, lock that witch away so Serkan and Eda are not haunted by her evil presence, and can maybe spend some time together.
Though, you know, I wouldn’t mind if it was a wedding dress. We know Serkan ain’t gonna marry her, so if they go so far as to put her in a dress, then we’re on the precipice of her humiliation and departure which can’t come too soon for me.
jan31 Hi Liza. Please can you explain to me the fireside scene. It was so beautiful, emotional and just what we needed. Were the lights going out representing his sub conscious and the darkness he feels, reaching out for Eda instinctively without realising why. And the lights coming on was the reality that he did not remember anything. Or am I completely going in the wrong direction? Oh and the music gets me every time 😢😢
That scene fired on all cylinders!! I definitely think you’re on to something thinking the lights coming on represented the reality of him still not having any memories back. I think the whole scene was Serkan trying to reconcile this one flash of memory that has been playing in his mind like a movie. He was re-enacting what he saw in his mind, trying to figure out if it was a real memory and if the real memory was about Eda.
I really liked that it was Serkan who asked if they can talk without arguing. Being the calm, rational one is his role in their relationship, how many times have we heard him say “sakin” so it was comforting to see him taking those reigns for a few moments. Also for him to realize that almost all their exchanges had been heightened and fraught with explosive emotions and wanting to talk to her without that.
Both Eda and Serkan with their eyes filled, brimming with tears really got to me. Serkan not really understanding as his heart took over and tried to make sense of what his confused mind couldn’t. Eda’s complete heartbreak when he still didn’t remember anything. However, though, she might not know it, he certainly felt something.
He’s already so drawn to her and he can’t compute why that is... why he fell in love with her during the time he can’t remember, but he’s slowly starting to see how it could have happened. This was an important scene for bridging that gap between them. So freaking beautiful, one of the best acted scenes of the entire series, and the scene that made this episode worthwhile.
Anonymous said: if that scene in front of the fireplace made me so emotional and it was just him trying to remember.. trying to recreate that one moment he was flashbacks of... i cant imagine what the actual scene of him remembering will do to me. both their acting in that scene was something else.
Hande and Kerem were both absolutely fantastic in that scene. Really stellar. Their chemistry never disappoints, but here they were both right in the moment, very raw, very real. I’m impressed with the emotional range they both showed, kudos to both. If nothing else this story is giving them a lot to chew on as actors.
Anonymous said:  memory loss doesn't bother me that much if we can have beautiful scenes like the fireplace one. but the main couple is separated again, dating/fake dating other people and they don't have scenes enough to fall in love again
Well they made huge strides in two episodes. From Serkan not willing to even contemplate remembering her, to him sitting down and asking her to tell him a memory of their relationship and saying he wants to know about her and their love. And them having an absolutely beautiful, emotional, heartbreaking moment together.
Serkan made other leaps as well. He went from wanting Eda out of the business to admitting she had talent and freaking out that she was planning to take a vacation. He was already coming up with every excuse to keep her in town and working. They argued as they did in early days, he had moments that obviously hit him as familiar (”I hate you Serkan Bolat.” “The feeling is mutual, lady.”) plus lemons and crusts.
Don’t you worry, he’s already falling in love with her again.
However, I wouldn’t judge what they’re planning too much by this episode. It felt like a transition episode and was pretty unevenly paced. Perhaps the claims of rewrites on this chapter had some truth to them. Because the last 4 episodes were pretty well written, narratively solid, and well paced, and this one was not. It was boring and everything not directly related to a scene where Eda and Serkan were alone was lackluster.
Also I feel like some things were changed and perhaps removed to make allowances for Hande’s injury. She had a strained neck and was in a brace for almost the entirety of the filming of this episode. For instance, I’m pretty sure they did fewer takes with her in several scenes. Specifically you can tell in the scene where Serkan picks her up and carries her back.
We go no full wide angle shot from the front of him carrying her to match with the scene in episode 5. I’m sure they wanted that, but I’m guessing they really had to limit the takes of him picking her up so they couldn’t do multiple camera set ups.  The still photographer on set was able to capture it from the front, it’s a shame they couldn’t get the full hero shot for the show, but poor thing was injured and these things happen when you shoot on such tight timelines.
So some of the lack of Edser could have been scenes that were shortened, cut, and amended due to that injury. And others could have been changes in the script perhaps as they figure out if they’re getting another ep order from Fox.
Anonymous said: idk what they’re doing with Ceren but I really need them to keep Deniz as a genuinely good friend. He’s perfect and I don’t want them to make him sketch. Not sure if you’ve seen OTH but that’s the only other show I’ve seen with a great male-female friendship. Other parts of the show are messy to me right now but I’ve been loving this.
I guess my opinion would be unpopular with you, but I am not as enamored with Deniz as others seem to be.  Dude was putting a LOT of pressure on Eda to move on and forget Serkan. Serkan has been back approximately 3 days! HE ROSE FROM THE DEAD AND HAS AMNESIA. Can the woman have a chance to catch her breath and assess the situation, before her “good friend” is pressuring her every which way to forget him??  And planning romantic getaways under the guise of friendship? That’s not being a friend, that’s being an opportunist, looking for his chance to slide in there.
So, yeah, I’m not as impressed as most seem to be with Deniz. He made me uncomfortable with that. I hope it was not a harbinger of things to come.
As for OTH, I haven't really watched, but its a fav or my bud @echoapothecary so she might be willing to discuss that show.
Anonymous said: Any chance they decide to throw Melo and Ferit together? I don't care about any of the other side romances going on but these two still have their rights in my book in regards to Edser and they seem like genuinely people?
Let’s do it, baby! I’m on board They both are genuinely good people, and I’m with you, I don’t care about any of the side romances at the moment. Piril and Engin put me to sleep this episode.
Ferit certainly deserves better than psycho Selin, but he also deserves better than petulant Ceren. And while her behavior escalated to WTF levels this ep, she’s always leaned a little this way. I think it was episode 18 (because the girls were in the library before Serkan finds Eda there) that Ceren was furious at Ferit all episode and I honest to goodness had no clue why or what he did.
Anonymous said: at first sçk was about women supporting women and we have one best friend turning against the other FOR A MAN. I'm so disappointed the writers are destroying characters one by one.
No this show has always been about the love story between Eda and Serkan, but it did have some nice female relationships as well. Can I tell you a secret? While I really like the girls dynamic, and hope they don’t destroy Ceren and Eda’s friendship, I really only care about 2 characters, and that’s Eda and Serkan.
So while I get your concern, and Ceren acted OUT OF HER DAMN MIND this episode, if she needs to be a casualty to keep things moving, so be it.  I mean I reserve the right to roll my eyes over it, but I’m not going to get too worked up about it. From the beginning Eda and Serkan were the only two characters that matter and they still are.
Anonymous said: I'm kinda concerned that they're actually going to say the next episode takes place on Valentines Day because this would be the biggest timeline error yet. I know we've already been suspending belief here after they touched on New Years so quickly but umm, yeah....
I think you have to just give over to the timeline on this show and not do any math or calculations. We already had July to December take approximately 2 months in straight linear storytelling, LMAO.
Also, if it is valentine’s day and that’s going to be their excuse to give us some actual romance, then I will take it, no complaints. To me that’s one of the easiest things not to be concerned about, because its never going to make sense. I’ll take the holiday themed episodes over strict adherence to the calendar any day.
