hey y'all ever think about the fact that at the start of the game if you used kel's pass follow up, the only one it'd just hit was omori. it just bonks him and makes him sad.

but later in the game when you're going around with kel more and becoming closer to him again, as he brings sunny out of his shell again THEN the attack becomes strong. and kel is the ONLY party member in headspace that can change omori's emotions iirc? am I reading too much into this. I dunno I really like it.

sunny is extremely jealous of kel, he pokes fun at him a lot in headspace. I think that after so long of not seeing him he'd started to twist what he was actually like, even though he still loved him so so so much. but when he sees him again, sees how kind and protective he is.

that version of kel in headspace goes away. he becomes less helplessly oblivious. he's cheering up aubrey and trying to help her in the search for basil (like he's currently doing with sunny), he still has times where he does the wrong thing but he's much more mature in headspace as the story progresses.

the bitterness sunny has about the fact kel has everything he needs starts to calm down even if it still hurts. and as he really learns who he is again, his headspace version changes.

interestingly, this is also reflected in the other characters. aubrey becomes more scared and prone to crying in headspace as sunny realizes how much pain the real aubrey is in. hero starts becoming more scared and serious too. sunny tries to suppress everything and keep the line between headspace and the real world separate, so he can have his escape, but it's all starting to blur.

this is probably just me reaching because I started rambling about kel and sunny and it accidentally became a lil more, oops

hmm. thinking about how when the party goes into Aubrey's bedroom on One Day Left and she finally apologizes, Kel's immediate reaction is to apologize to her in return. and also thinking about how Aubrey always targets Kel in physical combat but also in her verbal accusations (Aubrey's dialogue upon winning in the church fight is "serves you right, Kel" and she doesn't seem nearly as mad at Sunny despite him actually slashing her with a knife). i know the common fandom perception is that Kel and Aubrey simply drifted apart after Mari died, but... i think it's very likely that something actively bad happened between them, but neither one of them wants to bring it up again. and i definitely feel like Kel secretly blamed himself for Aubrey's downward spiral.

#this is all headcanon ofc but my personal theory is #that after mari was buried aubrey would visit her grave ever day and try to get kel to come to #and eventually kel was like ''are you gonna do anything besides sit by her grave all day? when are you gonna move on and live your life?''#and aubrey (justifiably) took that REALLY badly and then there was a screaming match #i think kel is generally well intentioned and he always wants people to look on the bright side of life #but he doesn't yet realize that it's not appropriate to force positivity on people all the time #idk. he's always forcing himself to fake happiness so i feel like he could force it upon others too #TLDR what if kel and aubrey had a fight like kel and hero except things didn't get better afterwards. are you crying yet #omori #aubrey omori #kel omori #omori headcanons #volt.txt #kelbrey #not romantic ofc but i know kelbrey nation will eat up this angst so. take it #oops there are hella spelling errors in these tags. whatever. His mouth opens slightly. And then he says your name, breathes it out so lovely it kickstarts a wild flutter in your heart. Then the door yanks open wildly behind you, cutting him off rapidly.

Robin, the town’s ever handy carpenter, arrived with a warm welcome drawing all the attention to her.

“Came in for my winter ax sharpening, Morales!” She greets.

With a fast goodbye to Frankie, then a swift warm exchange of a hello with Robin, you scramble fast to leave.

“Wait I didn’t-”

You don’t even wait to hear what Frankie has to say before you’re out of the door and back into the cold winter air.
