Location: Vocal Room

KEITO: (… Alright, I’ve memorized all of my lines properly. Next, I’ll focus on honing my acting skills.)

(One of the scenes portrayed in the commercial plays out like this: in order to return a notebook that her senior had left in the library, the female protagonist sprints through the corridors of the school building in a hurry. Inevitably, she ends up accidentally falling over and scrapes her knee.)

(This ruckus just so happens to catch the attention of the very same senior, who, being a member of the prefect committee, scolds her harshly without much consideration.)

(It’s only when he notices the notebook held tightly in the female protagonist’s arms, that the senior realizes he’d been mistaken about her, and ends up taking her to the infirmary in a bridal carry.)

(From that point onwards, what had once been an icy relationship between the female protagonist and the senior finally progresses—)

“You ended up being injured because of me… My apologies, it’s all my fault. Does your leg still hurt?”

“There’s no need to force a smile, it’s alright. You can rest easy now, I’ll be right by your side the entire time.”

(I feel like my performance was missing something. However, I’m not exactly sure which part felt wrong.)

(Could it be what Hibiki had told me that day was true? That I simply haven’t explored the inner world of the character sufficiently?)

Nevermind that, I’ll continue my practice. Now, where was I…

… Hold on, I remember very clearly, there was nothing on this piano in the room before. Now, there’s a pink envelope lying here.

KEITO: Oi, Hibiki. What exactly is it that you want from me, that you went through the elaborate trouble of arranging to meet here?

WATARU: …

KEITO: …?!?

(Is the person before me really Hibiki Wataru? I had no idea his face was capable of showing such a melancholic expression…?)

Oi, oi, are you alright? Say something!

WATARU: “… Have you really no clue of my feelings, even up until now?”

KEITO: … Eh?

WATARU: “It’s nearly time for the graduation ceremony. Whenever I think about the fact that I won’t be able to see you after you graduate from school, I feel so terribly lonely.”

“So, even if it’s just an empty memento… Would you let me have the second button[1] of your school uniform?”

KEITO: … Did you time travel to the past? What the hell are you going on about? We both graduated from Yumenosaki Private Academy a long time ago, didn’t we?

Besides, my school uniform is at home. How am I supposed to give the button to you?

WATARU: Oya, oya… Then, there’s nothing that can be done about that. Which is why, I’ll use this as a substitute ☆

KEITO: (…? Just now, something swept over my eyes… Was that Hibiki’s hair?)

No, wait a second, where are my glasses?!

— Hibiki, stop this right now! Give me my glasses back!!

(… No, I need to calm down firstly, and not let myself become blinded by my rage. Come to think of it, I’m certain I’ve heard that same nonsensical string of words he had said at the very beginning somewhere else…)

(Ah, so that’s what it is. That was the scene in the manga that takes place the day before the senior graduates, when the female protagonist, in her determination to make one final confession, invites him to the rooftop through an anonymous letter.)

(Could it possibly be that Hibiki actually wanted to practice with me? Admittedly, his acting skills are so polished it’s frightening, to the point where his entire aura had changed completely.)

(That aside, what is of vital importance is to recover my glasses. Where exactly did he run off to…?)

Time: A few minutes later

Location: Vocal Room

KEITO: Hibiki, you’re here, aren’t you! Come out right now!

WATARU: Bingo~♪ Congratulations on getting it right! Clap clap clap… ☆

However, I’m quite curious. How did you think to come here so quickly, Keito-kun? I had thought you would have taken half a day using the long way round.

KEITO: It was simple, actually. Since you had said “I await your arrival”, I figured that meant you wanted me to come find you, so it was unlikely that you’d hide in some remote corner.

Besides, without my glasses, you wouldn’t be incorrect if you said that it’s hard for me to move around, even an inch. If the distance between us had been too great, the game would lose its meaning to you, wouldn’t it.

WATARU: So, through the process of elimination, you deduced I would be hiding where it all began, correct?

Amazing! I hadn’t expected Keito-kun to know me so well, I’m honestly quite touched—

KEITO: Enough, return my glasses to me right now. Otherwise, I’m seriously going to lose it.

WATARU: … Oh? Could this be… a kabe-don?

Ahh~~! Gosh, that was so handsome of you! My heart is beating a mile a minute!

KEITO: Hmph, and yet my affinity for you has hit rock bottom.

WATARU: Alright, alright, I concede. I shall give your glasses back.

KEITO: …! Good, now I can finally see clearly.

Aah, glasses of mine, I really can’t be without you for even just a moment…! I vow to you that I won't allow you to be put in danger ever again.

(… Huh, how strange? These glasses feel as though they’re brand new. There isn’t the slightest hint of dust on them as far as I can see.)

The theory goes that the buttons on the gakuran carry different meanings. The first button represents yourself, the second someone dearest to you, the third your best friends. To give someone the second button on your school uniform means you regard them important to you, usually romantically.

Another prevailing theory about the second button is that it is the one closest to the heart, and therefore, should be gifted to the one who has won your heart.

hi!! thank you so much for requesting this, I'm so sorry it took me so long to get to!!

He's not particularly fond of PDA, but he'll find himself reaching for your hand in a crowd, or walking home after sunset. He likes to know you're there.

In his office at Ensemble Square- so long as he knows he has no meetings coming up- you're always welcome to perch on his lap while he works. The smell of your hair calms him down and provides some much needed motivation.

He sends you love letters at least once a month. They're exquisitely hand written on fine paper and posted first-class. Page after page, waxing poetic in a way he's far too embarrassed to do out loud. It's adorable, really, and when he finds out you keep all of them he can't really explain away the reason his glasses are suddenly misty.

You're one of the few people who can make him lose his composure quickly. While it takes a lot to make him fully blush, you never fail to notice how his ears turn red when you kiss his cheek, or how he chokes on the start of his next sentence when you conjure up what he calls a "silly little pet name" for him. Eichi loves you for the chances you give him to tease his old friend.

He has a small manga series only you know about that he draws just to encourage you when you have a problem you don't know how to solve. He's never told you he doesn't actually publish it, he just casually leaves the only copy of it in your home at some point for you to read. The main character is based on you (a coincidence, he assures you), and has a cat sidekick.

He also likes to draw little cartoons that remind you to take care of yourself, for when he's too busy to do it in person. Waking up in the morning to find a cartoon Keito taped to the fridge, scolding you and telling you to make sure you eat breakfast is definitely endearing.

He has a pair of glasses in your favourite colour that he wears specially for dates with you, because he's a dork.

Tells you about the cats he follows on Instagram. It's like his favourite conversation topic, his eyes light up so much when he's talking about it.

LOVES to read to you! If you fall asleep while he's doing it he'll tut at you with a smile on his face and wrap a blanket around you before going back to the book, marking the place where you fell asleep so he can continue it for you when you wake up.

Anzu can expect some gifts for Mother's Day (even though the boys didn't make it too obvious). Rei: a shiny crystal pen with pink ink. Keito: a Mizuhanome original drawing. Midori: her favorite pizza. Souma: a large cup of bubble tea. Kaoru: a pair of fish hairclips. Hajime: box of club sandwiches. Eichi: an antique dagger-like letter opener. Koga: bbq meat skewers. Adonis: an invite for fruit parfait. Tori: a teddy bear charm. Makoto: a box of heated eyemasks.

Given that she wasn’t really expecting anything from Mother’s day due to the fact she wasn’t their biological mother, the gifts from each of the idols certainly came as a surprise to her, but she did accept each one at each point of the day ( despite the fact she rarely ever eats due to her work, it appears when offered, she may have a harder time turning someone down gently. )

Upon being given a pen by Rei, the producer’s eyes lit up and she stood on her tiptoes to pat his head, excitedly thanking him for getting her a pen, telling him that she didn’t have any time to go shopping for stationary lately and that she’d be sure to make it up to him at a later date. “I promise, I’ll buy you something in return, thanks again, senpai! This is a really cute pen!”

With Keito she was clearly surprised with the present and she smiled up at her upperclassmen when she received it. “Thanks, Hasumi-senpai, or Mizuhanome-sensei,” The girl giggles and looks up at him with a nod, speaking genuinely soon after. “I’ll treasure it, seriously. It means a lot to know you’d give me something like this.”

When Midori gave her a meat feast pizza, the producer was surprised that he knew about her favourite kind of Pizza and let out a laugh. “You sure make it hard to refuse you, huh, Midori? You pay a lot of attention to people, I think.” With that she thanks him, and gave him a brief hug afterwards. “You wanna eat together?”

It was a little after that when Souma found her and after offering her the Bubble tea, the producer seemed surprised, slipping off her headphones and patting the space next to her. “Sure, thanks Souma, you’re the best,” she hums, sending the samurai a smile. “I’d give you a hug but I dunno if you’re too fond of that idea.”

When Kaoru came and gave her hairclips, she was...frankly stunned for a second. “Is-Is this okay? I wouldn’t wanna put you out-” but when he told her it was fine, she sent him a smile. “Thanks senpai, I’ll make it up to you.” with that, she pops her current music note hairclips off and replaces them with the fish hairclips.

“Oh, thank you, Hajime! Would you like me to get you something in return? You really do go out of your way for people all the time, don’t you?” The producer takes the club sandwiches and carefully pulls her underclassman into a hug. “You’re really too sweet for your own good, sometimes.”

Upon being passed something that looks like a dagger, the Producer took a second to stare at it before she realised it simply looked like one, and she grinned. “Is this your letter opener, senpai? It looks pretty fancy,” when he said it was for her, however, the producer blinks a couple times. “T-Thank you senpai, but let me get you something in return! This looks mad expensive and I wouldn’t want to be the only one taking.”

She was in class at lunch doing some work when the door swung open to reveal Koga, who was clearly irked that she was working during her break, and when she went to duck under the desk to continue, he told her off further before offering her a selection of BBQ meat skewers. “Thanks, dude,” She hums, with a laugh. “You wanna eat together for a while? It’d be cool to hear how you’ve been doing lately.”

When Koga left and a little before class started, Adonis came to class and offered her an invite for fruit parfaits, she was surprised by the invitation but she’s sure she has time after school for that for a considerable time period, so she nods and agrees. “Sure, thanks for the invite Adonis! It should be fun, plus, I think you and me don’t hang out enough anyways.”

The brunette was walking in the halls, on her way to a practice room to over see one of the unit’s new choreography when she sees Tori approaching her, she turns to hug him when he offers her a teddy bear charm. “Thanks, Tori, it’s super cute. Guess we’re matching a bit, huh?” she asks, pointing to his own charm.

“Makoto, my beloved friend, you are too good to me,” she announces when he gives her the box, leaning over her desk to pat his shoulder. “I’ve never used these before, they seem pretty cool though! Would you mind explaining how to use them right? I mean, I know they’re for eyes but do you like...crack them like a glowstick to make them work?”
