The Whole Nine Yards (2000)
Smoking: Splatter
In honor of the passing of Matthew Perry recently I decided to do one of my favorite movies of his. Of course, I loved him as Chandler on Friends, but this movie holds a special place in my heart.
Tumblr media
I forget how gross the opening is. MP plays a dentist and so it opens with him brushing his teeth. So you see like his tongue and stuff. He also breaks the fourth wall a little bit. His wife and mother-in-law live his him and they are quite terrible.
I think this movie is the reason I hate anything to do with teeth. I could definitely never be a dentist or a dental assistant. NOOOOOO THANKS!
Bruce Willis, a contract killer, with an anger problem 🤏🏼 just becomes his new neighbor.
I also act a lot like MP when I’m nervous. I NEVER shut up! And very jumpy
Tumblr media
Rosanna Arquette, his wife, who I only just now realized is sister to David Arquette. Now trying to get MP to kill BW for the money. Oh boy. Amanda Peet, plays his receptionist, formally hired to kill MP, but really is like his best friend now and only have his best interest. Wants him to go get laid while he’s in New York.
Tumblr media
Enter arguably my favorite character Frankie Figs, played by Michael Clarke Duncan. He keeps punching MP in the kidneys. He works for Kevin Pollak’s character who is looking for BW. Yanni Gogolak, such a funny last name, Gogolak 🤣  He starts moving closer to MP and he tries to back away but bounces off of MCD very funny.
We have Natasha Henstridge playing BW’s wife in the movie. Perfect example of beauty and hard ass. Definitely makes sense why BW’s character was attracted to her.
Got a little munchy so I got my Pop Rock Candy Pocky, its sooo cool and fun to eat lol. Anyway, I paused the movie and I’m already over 300 words in and only 34mins into the movie 🤦🏼‍♀️ because the pop rocks are covered in chocolate most of the popping happens in the back of your throat. It feels funny lolol
Yet again, MP tries to get away from someone in front of him and bounces off of MCD instead 😂
Tumblr media
Totally got distracted. Happens a lot lol
Don’t want to give away too much of the movie at the part I’m at now. So I’ll just leave the review here. Not like it isn’t long enough from just the first 30 minutes of the movie 😂☠️
Toke on

( STACKS UPON STACKS OF BOOKS, THE SNAP OF LATEX GLOVES, WHITE LAB COATS )▸ welcome to latverion, JEMMA SIMMONS. it’s time to be gracious, for in this vast multiverse, you have been saved by emperor doom. according to records you are 34 and use SHE/HER pronouns. emperor doom expects you’ll enjoy your career as SCIENTIST, or else. excellent. we look forward to your contribution.
ABOUT BASICS.
FULL NAME: doctor jemma anne simmons.
AGE: 34, september 11th; virgo.
AFFILIATIONS: shield.
GENDER AND PRONOUNS: cis-female; she/her.
FACE CLAIM: elizabeth henstridge.
IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS.
POINT OF ORIGIN: jemma is pulled solely from the agents of shield show, and is canon up to the final season of the show !!
ABILITIES/SKILLS: genius level intellect  ;  master scientist  ;  expert physician  ; multilingual  ;  spy  ;  expert combatant  ;  marksman.
HAVE THEY BROUGHT ANY FAMILY OR PETS WITH THEM: jemma brought her daughter, alya.
ANY HEADCANONS YOU WANT OTHERS TO KNOW: tba!
QUESTIONNAIRE.
HOW DOES YOUR CHARACTER FEEL ABOUT EMPEROR DOOM?
jemma is skeptical of him. she doesn’t trust him one bit, but is quiet on that thought, preferring to keep it to herself. she isn’t so sure who is or isn’t listening to things she says, so she’d much rather just keep quiet.
HOW DOES YOUR CHARACTER FEEL ABOUT THE BATTLES? ARE THEY TRYING TO AVOID THEM? OR ARE THEY EAGER TO JUMP IN?
jemma doesn’t like the battles and would not participate. she’s never liked combat, and still hates the sound of gunfire, so she prefers to keep both herself and her daughter far away from those events as possible.
WHY HAS YOUR CHARACTER ACCEPTED THEIR JOB POSITION? WILL THEY USE IT TO GET CLOSER TO DOOM? OR WILL THEY USE IT EXPLOIT HIM? OR DO THEY SIMPLY LIKE THEIR JOB?
being a scientist is jemma’s normal. or, one of them, at least. it’s a field she excels in, so it made natural sense that she’d pick this job.  it’s a step down from her previous job as a shield agent, but she’s okay with that.

Since you feel you have robert figured out & i personally have no clue what he's thinking ever, what do you think will happen in the finale? Any idea what twist will pop up?
INVADE MY INBOX! 👑
You know, I actually have a lot figured out. Literally nothing has shocked me this season. I knew that the whole thing with Kathryn was too easy for Liam not to be in on it, I knew that Helena would eventually rise to the occasion of taking Robbie ‘down’. This is the same woman who attempted to not only dethrone Cyrus but make the QUEEN the single ruling monarch. And you can tell this entire season she doesn’t feel needed, and rather than being an actual MOTHER ( as she’s been supposedly attempting to be -- again, here is what really boils my blood about all of this -- this entire season has been complete character assassination on a bulk of characters that have gained so much back, only for it to be swiped away closer toward the finale ) -- Either Helena never changed in antithesis with the way she was showcased ( or she changed more in favor of Liam ), never loved Robbie as much as she claimed to, or is just this horrible person all around. It’s just utterly devastating really.      In regards to theories on what could happen I will only say a few things because I believe that too much speculation only takes away from the ride of the show. We get so caught up in our conspiracies and pointing fingers and all that jazz. I don’t want to play party to that. I just want us to have a better understanding of the deeper insight to some complex characters. But also have FUN. No one is black and white in this series...except Cyrus. ( & Jasper. )       1. Willow and Robert will quarrel. But it will not be as terrible as everyone expects. They obviously make up. ( If you look closely at one of the previews, too. Helena seems very surprised and Liam looks exceptionally displeased. )      2. Helena is in on Liam’s plan. & on Liam’s side. ( If we are to twist it, really twist it, sure she’s on Robert’s side -- but my gut is telling me no. This seems like complete wishful thinking however -- it could also be truth. If we are to believe her love for Robbie? She could be being of ‘use’ to Robbie, finding out what Liam is up to. Proving her loyalty.  Because, remember how she was so put out that Robbie had he planning a wedding?? Perhaps this is the extra task he gave to her. -- again, WISHFUL thinking as I don’t see this being the twist Mark would apply. )      3. ROBERT. KNOWS. Somehow he knows. Something is going to go down. He’s onto Liam. Now, I don’t know to what extent. But he is absolutely aware that something is going to go down. And this isn’t mere speculation, he’s said he always has to expect the worst, as people also expect the worse from him. And naturally? That is just the way he is. He thinks everyone is out to get him, thinks everyone sees him as this failure, as this human being who never earned a single dime in his life, never rose to the occasion, was nothing but a King’s son, but couldn’t even redeem himself in that. Internally he’s entirely bitter. He tries to be hopeful but it only knocks him down. So he’s become exceedingly soured. However, this “hubris” ( everyone enjoys bringing up ), this ability to undermine will keep him one step ahead.      I don’t think he is the true villain of this story. I think someone else will pop up, and it’s going to be huge. Now I am NOT presenting these things as if they are mere truth or fact, not whole-heartedly. They’re my interpretation, this also doesn’t touch base on half the theories fluttering around in my head, and some of them are probably prominently obvious, but. Just to answer your question. Here you go.  :) Thank you for sending this in.

For the next “Monsterverse” movie, this is how I’d set it up:
Plot: It’s been years since Godzilla fought Kong. After a period of peace, Earth suddenly finds itself under attack from an alien race. The aliens send forth three champions to conquer the planet; Gigan, a clone of Godzilla known as SpaceGodzilla (from the 1994 movie) and Mechagodzilla 2.0 (unrelated to the Mechagodzilla from GvK).
Godzilla, Kong, and the new Mothra are all overwhelmed, forcing humanity to step in and help. They rebuild Apex’s Mechagodzilla, turning the war into a 4-on-3.
Other details:
1) Taking a cue from “Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla” (2002), the Earth Mechagodzilla has a pilot. In terms of casting, let’s go with Gemma Chan. Gemma’s character is the main human protagonist and the glue keeping Team Earth Kaiju together.
2) Mothra kills Gigan, Kong (with the help of Earth Mechagodzilla) kills Alien Mechagodzilla, and all four members of Team Earth take down SpaceGodzilla.
3) The alien invaders are forced to retreat after their monsters are defeated. However, it’s teased they will return and are building their next behemoth, which is heavily implied to be Destoroyah.
4) Since there’s been a significant time jump, the human characters from the previous movies either don’t show up or have been re-casted with older actors. For example, I pictured Elizabeth Henstridge taking over the role of Madison Russell from Millie Bobby Brown.
5) The movie ends with a tease that we’ll see Godzilla Junior in the next movie.

Elizabeth Henstridge Via Instagram: I have 941 pictures from my time directing episode 207 ‘ANTI-HERO’ of @cwsupermanandlois 🤣🤩👵🏼 … no spoilers in this post buttt I can’t guarantee it tomorrow SO catch up yeaaaah?! It airs today!!! On the @thecw 🥳
Directing @cwsupermanandlois was one of my most proud and scary and exhilarating times in my career so far (SO FAR 🙏🙌🤣).
I’ve been a fan of the show and the people behind it for so long. I wish I had the reaction video of when I got the call, after months and months of meetings and greetings (the most amazing homework).
SUPERMAN AND LOIS. Two incredible heroes. Played so beautifully by @tylerhoechlin and @bitsietulloch . How I kept it together meeting them and the cast I will never know (never been so grateful for masks to hide at least some of the utter adoration.)
I hope you love the episode, it was a total joy to get to direct it. ….ps it’s MASSIVE. 😅🤯…
I could go on and on but before we all lose the will with this caption, I’ll just quickly say this -
If you have a dream that feels impossible, this is your sign to keep going. ✨
(the second picture is the card I pulled the morning of the first day of filming 💛 @valeriemya )

As I Have Always Been...
So I’m definitely time-looping 7x09. It’s perfectly normal to keep watching it over and over again, right? Yes, it is. AoS, you amaze and break me in all the best ways!
The way they took that trope and made it their own, and managed to make it unique. Amazing writing from Drew Z. Greenberg.
Elizabeth Henstridge did such a fantastic job with her directorial debut, and what an episode it was too. And her acting, my God, she's phenomenal. The scene with Jemma breaking down in tears while remembering was bone-chilling, I just wanted to cry with her. I'm not ready for whatever it is; it seemed it had really messed her up.
The sequence with the whole team and Enoch was not only hilarious, but nostalgic for some reason, especially because of Daisy and LMD/Chronicom-Coulson.
Chloe was amazing this episode, and Daisy almost strangely felt like her old self, somehow. It was so wonderful!
I can not express enough just how much I loved every single second between Daisy and Coulson. Seeing them working together, having a heart to heart. And also being emotional, sarcastic, snarky, and funny about everything was so early seasons, and it hit me so, so hard. I needed this episode to be centered around them, I missed them so very much. The whole episode just made me so emotional, and I don't want the show to end, damn it!
Daisy and Sousa - they managed to be so soft and hot at the same time. Only AoS could introduce a ship this late and have it work so incredibly well. And while I don't want Daisy to have a last minute relationship, can people please stop acting like a kiss means that? It doesn’t mean they’re together. They kissed. They obviously like and are attracted to, each other and so far, that's it. In my opinion, they handled it perfectly, and I honestly don't think it diminished either character. Their scenes didn't feel forced and they all made sense within the story-line. I could feel the tension and the chemistry and the care between them. That, "Because you don't," from Sousa, made me feel things. He gets her.
Enoch. This show has given us many heart-wrenching, emotional scenes over the years, and I've loved and sobbed over each one of them. But this Enoch scene just might be my favorite so far, because of his unwavering loyalty 'till the very end. Those last words. Words that are so human, coming from a Chronicom. The questions and anxieties about death, we could all relate to that, everything that was said cut me deep. We could also relate to Enoch's connection and love for the team, and the fear of being without them. The way everything was written and phrased. . .just honestly got to me. Joel Stoffer’s acting was remarkable, his eyes, his tone, his facial expressions; I genuinely felt what he was feeling. I can't stop thinking about it.
That was easily one of the best AoS episodes ever, and personally, it made its way to my top three, or maybe five - there are just too many amazing episodes, and we still have four episodes left so. . . Anyway, 10/10. Perfect.

part two: my thoughts on the characters of agents of shield
preview of what’s underneath ‘KEEP READING’
henry simmons — BIG MACK DADDY. i love alphonso ‘mack’ mackenzie, with my whole fucking heart. this giant man is so soft & i will protec him 4ever.
elizabeth henstridge — remember season 1 simmons? so innocent & pure. not traumatized at all. *tears up at the thought*
iain de caestecker — UGH. this from the scrawny little kid who couldn’t put on a parachute in s1.
link to part one - LINK
henry simmons — BIG MACK DADDY. i love alphonso ‘mack’ mackenzie, with my whole fucking heart. this giant man is so soft & i will protec him 4ever. when we first met him with his gentle giant nature, helping fitz when jemma wasn’t there, my heart melted (also i shipped them & still do. even tho i still ship fitzsimmons) at how patient & gentle he was with fitz. the way he built a mini-lola to try & get coulson to let him work on lola was adorable.
when we finally get some conflict, both in the secret he + bobbi are keeping & the way he treats skye after she becomes inhuman, i still can’t help but like the guy. i don’t like what he does or how he does it but himself? he’s still that big teddy-bear who helped fitz when no one else did. not to mention he isn’t wrong in his fear of skye but i’ll talk about the lack of coverage that topic got in my writing post.
the way he interacted with elena was adorable af too. their height + build difference was just *mwah* - his giant muscle-y arm wrapped around her shoulder was just the greatest thing ever. also... shotgun axe. he made himself a shotgun axe. the man is a genius.
elizabeth henstridge — remember season 1 simmons? so innocent & pure. not traumatized at all. *tears up at the thought* but everyone has to grow up right? to me, jemma is one of the more interesting characters growth-wise, for a lot of reasons. there’s a lot that goes on both around her & to her that gives her a lot of trauma. she also doesn’t really know how to fight until way late in the series, despite constantly getting into dangerous situations *we won’t talk about how that is a big flaw in the writing until my writing opinion post* i mean, she can throw a punch but i doubt she’d be able to fight like daisy could. but she is a survivor.
simmons proves that with the time she spends on maveth, she has no intention of dying, even if it means adapting to her surroundings, as harsh as they are. not to mention the fact that despite all her trauma & obvious ptsd, she still has hope. she loses it once in a while & that’s natural but her heart is good. she does her best to stay that way. she grows cautious of people yes but never cruel *don’t @ me about her behavior toward daisy in s2 - again it will be addressed in another post*
can i just mention elizabeths chemistry with iain for a second too? the amount of pressure that comes with a role like this? not that the others weren’t under pressure but both of them had to play geniuses who had known each other so long & so well that they knew what the other was going to do before they did it - i.e. finishing each other’s sentence, finishing a physical move before being asked. all things that can be practiced in rehearsal but to make look natural? ugh, they were always so in-tune & while in season one it was a little less perfect than in season two & so on, it was still so incredible considering how new it all was???
iain de caestecker — okay. y’all. the scene in the devil complex (s5 ep14) where it’s fitz vs the doctor. the way he acted that. emmy worthy. the way the doctor mocked fitz’s stutter. fucking amazing. all the little things during that scene & when he finally merged with the doctor, how his face became this blank sort of resigned expression. UGH. this from the scrawny little kid who couldn’t put on a parachute in s1.
when we first saw the doctor in the framework i was ready. fitz had been this amazing guy for so long. i was ready to explore that darker path. for us to see how truly evil fitz could’ve been. the fact it followed him outside the framework? genius. then the discussion around what fitz did to daisy & how it was done... will be talked about in my writing post but i will say they let me down on that & on a few other storylines involving fitz. but iain never fucking faltered on his performance, especially with elizabeth.
the episode where both of them are in that mind prison thing? i forget what it was called - both of them are screaming at each other & they end up just being like ‘IT DOESN’T MATTER HOW MANY TIMES YOU FUCK UP, I STILL LOVE YOU ANYWAY AND I ALWAYS WILL SO WHY ARE WE SCREAMING AT EACH OTHER’ - ugh, that right there bitch, love.

Honestly, all this pain comes back to one thing every time: we wouldn’t be constantly put through the wringer if Elizabeth and Iain weren’t arguably the best actors on this show. They are incredible and I love them to death and will forever shout for them to continue getting this much screen time, but at what cost. I feel guilty every time I say “this isn’t what I signed up for” after a strong emotional Fitzsimmons scene because deep down I know that is is also exactly what I signed up for haha

Matt’s “Reasonable” Downton Abbey Movie Sequel Pitch
Since I’ve been known to take extreme flights of fancy ... maybe wedding Downton Abbey continuity to Pulp and Classic Adventure stories in the past ... this time I’m gonna pitch something that is plausible on the Silver Screen.
The Summery:
Set in the Mid-1950′s. Lady Mary Talbot hosts a house party at Downton Abbey, like the old days, before the war. However - during the party - a maid is found dead. Miles from competent investigators, Edward Pelham enlists the help of his childhood hero and older cousin, the Earl of Grantham, George Crawley. Once a famed adventurer and war hero - no one has seen or heard from him since the war ended. He has chosen solitude and exile in the seclusion of Crawley House with his young son and his faithful butler Thomas Barrow.
Together, with the help of old friends, the two cousins try to unveil the murderer that is on the loose in Downton Abbey looking to avenge an old sin from the past.
PRINCIPLE RETURNING CAST:
Lady Mary, Lady Edith, and Tom Branson -  Michelle Dockery, Laura Carmichael, and Allen Leech
Tumblr media
Lady Rose Aldridge, “Dowager Countess of Sinderby” - Lily James
Tumblr media
Mrs. Lucy Branson - Tuppence Middleton
Tumblr media
Anna Bates - Joanne Froggett
Tumblr media
Thomas Barrow & Richard Ellis - Richard Collier & Max Brown
Tumblr media
NEW PRINCIPLE CAST
Captain George “The Comet” Crawley, Earl of Grantham - Henry Cavil
youtube
Crippled during battle while Storming an SS held Austrian Castle in May 1945, George Crawley chose seclusion rather than Downton Abbey. For the last ten years he has retreated from the world. Surrounded by Libraries of ancient texts and Medieval Chronicles - glass cases filled with trophies and artifacts from his adventures -  George broods darkly over the death of his men and a betrayal by the one he loved most in Matthew Crawley’s old chair by the fire..
Tumblr media
However, his young idealistic cousin rouses the once heroic and valiant adventurer back to action with the encouragement of his son Jason Crawley and Thomas Barrow, who believe George has sat idle too long and must become the leader and man of action he once was.
Tumblr media
“Well, well, well ... if it isn’t Captain George “The Comet” Crawley himself. The most Dangerous Man in the whole Empire, this one was ... Once.
“Yes, I dare say, and how are you holding up these days, eh, Old Boy?!”
“With a cane.”
Ms. Sybil “Sybbie” Branson - Jessica De Gouw
youtube
A Genius Mechanical Engineer, Sybbie was once the partner and companion of George Crawley on many adventure and stayed by his side throughout the war. However in 1943, during a mission with their SOE Commando Team in Greece, Sybbie Branson turned coat on the Allies and  was revealed to be a Nazi Agent ... Her betrayal caused the unintended death of John “Johnny” Bates Jr.
Captured in Austrian Castle in May of 1945 at great cost in George’s blood and the lives of his men by her fanatical suitor and body guards, Sybbie was tried at Nuremberg for helping design super weapons for the Nazis. However, just before her execution, at the last moment, she was reprieved and recruited by “Operation Paper Clip” ... some believed sparing her life was the last thing George did before going into seclusion.
Tumblr media
Ten years later, Ms. Sybil Darcy splits her time in Hollywood as an Oscar winning actress and a Southern California Military Base where she helps develop rockets for a fledgling American Space Program. It is only by chance that on another guilt ridden drinking binge that she awakens at the doors of Downton Abbey - her childhood home - where her International Playboy fiance was invited to Lady Mary’s House Party.
Tumblr media
“When I’m in his arms all I can think of is home, and when I think of home all I can think of is you. I know what I’ve done is evil and can never be forgiven. And I don’t ask for it from you ... all I ask is that you wait for me ... please, don’t leave me here alone. I don’t remember what this world was like without you in it, And all I know is that I cannot live in such a world. I know you don’t want to hear it, but I love you, and I’ll never stop ... Never.”
Lady Marigold Fraser, “Countess of Tarahill” - Elizabeth Henstridge
During the “Battle of Britain” and “The Blitz” Corporal Marigold Crawley served as a operator and airwoman in the RAF control room. When George and Sybbie’s squadron was sent to break the Siege of Malta and fight in the North Africa Campaign , Marigold would not be left behind. Thus, she resigned commission and became a War Corespondent for her Mamma and Aunt Laura at “The Sketch” - covering George and his men’s exploits from the ‘safety’ of Sybbie’s mechanic’s hanger. Later, during Sybbie’s arch betrayal, Marigold used her media and diplomatic pass as a Marquess’s step-daughter to rescue a hunted George with the help of local resistance. She went on to cover D-Day, Market Garden, and the Battle of the Bulge while attached to a much darker and violent George and his Commandos,
Tumblr media
Marigold was vaulted as a “Female Pioneer in Journalism”. But falling in Love with a Scottish Colonel in the British Airborne during Market Garden, she chose marriage rather than her career. But 10 years later the call of adventure is stirred in the societal matron’s blood once more upon her reunion with best friend George and a Mystery to solve.
Tumblr media
“Do you ever think of it, George?”
“The war?”
“Would you think me terrible if I told you that I miss it?”
“What particularly do you miss about the Ardennes or Arnhem Bridge?”
“It’s not the places, not the snowy woods all bundled tight together in our freezing foxhole under artillery fire, or escaping Holland on rubber rafts in the middle of the night ... I miss our men, I miss ... waking up in the morning and knowing that we were apart of something, that it was you and me, and the old chaps, against the world ... I miss being useful, George. I guess, I’d rather like to feel that way again.”
Ms. Caroline Talbot - Daisy Ridley
youtube
Beautiful, Spoiled, Clever, Selfish, and Effete, the co-heiress to “Branson & Talbot Motors” has spent her life attempting to get a rise out of her mother. As most desirable of debutantes and Crown Princess of British High Society, Caroline spends her days scheming and contriving against other society girls, of whom she loves to torment. Her nights in nightclubs spent drinking and dancing, waking up in different beds throughout the poshest London Houses.
Tumblr media
She loathes her mother, and blames Henry’s death on George, whose Spitfire shot down the German Bomber that crashed into Henry and Bertie’s train during “The Battle of Britain”. With George and Sybbie having never gotten along with, or been able to stand, Henry - Caroline believes George plotted her father’s death.
However, her arrogance and anger is dropped only in the presence of her best and only true friend, her cousin Edward. The only person in her unhappy life of whom she knows she truly loves.
Tumblr media
“JUST SAY IT, MAMMA! WHY CAN’T YOU SAY IT! Why can’t you just say you didn’t love him! I’m certainly not the first unloved child ever born to a widow looking for a cheap thrill! I guess I owe you enough thanks for at least marrying Daddy!”
“Oh, pipe down, you spoiled little bitch!”
“Shut up, you Nazi whore! You two ran off to have your little adventures and you never stopped to think, just once, about me!”
“Jesus H. Roosevelt Christ! Here we are again! What could you possibly want more of?! Huh? You got everyone’s attention!”
“George, leave it!.”
“No, no more, mom! She got everything I didn’t! She got a mother and father, parents! You left me behind so that you and Henry could start your trendy new fashionable family! You took their side against me! You and Uncle Tom! Just so you can continue to play grab ass with your pathetic little trio! I spent years away from home, Christmases at Aunt Edith’s, all because Henry didn’t want me here! MY OWN HOUSE! And still, after all that, his brat wants more! So, what, Goddamnit!?  What do you want from me, Caroline!?”
“YOU! I wanted my brother! I loved you and I needed you! And you left me with HER!
Lord Edward Robert Pelham, “Marquess of Hexham” - William Moseley
youtube
Upright and just minded, Lord Hexham grew up on the stories of adventure and mystery that his older cousins, George and Sybbie, were famous for. At the death of his father in the war, he looked up to his cousin George as a male role model.
Tumblr media
Thirteen years later, while on break from Oxford - he is not sure what to do with his life. Determined to save his beloved best friend Caroline from a nose dive of alcohol and sex turning into a death spiral, he finds himself at Downton Abbey - a guest of his Aunt Mary - when a murder takes place. But when the Killer leaves a message that it would only be the first. it seems everyone turns to him - as senior peer - for guidance. Unsure what to do, he goes to find his old mentor, George - who has much more experience in this kind of danger and mystery.
Tumblr media
“I don’t know, Marigold ... sometimes I think I’m the wrong man for this job.”
“Nonsense. In fact, rising above the bias of an older sister and the person who helped raise you, I just happen to think you’re the perfect man for the job.”
“I feel ashamed sometimes. There are lads out there that don’t have two pounds in their hands. And here I am, a Marquess, leaving Oxford, to snuggle up to my big sister’s beast, because, I’m frustrated.”
“Well, they are fantastic breasts.”
“I’m serious ... I just, I keep telling Caroline that there’s more in life. But I feel like it’s all just words. Neither Mummy nor Papa were ever so ambitious. And it’s not that I want more power, how could I? It’s just ... I feel like there’s something out there, waiting for me to get into its shouting distance.”
Jason Matthew Crawley, Lord of Downton - Unknown (I don’t know child actors)
youtube
Born in 1944 to an unknown mother of whom George refuses to speak of to anyone. Mary and the rest of the family were shocked and confused to find George return from the war hobbled on a cane and carrying a toddler that was unmistakably his son.
Tumblr media
Ten years later the blue eyed raven curled boy attends the local Downton school, but is often pursued by high ranking academies for his extremely high intellect. But George refuses to entertain sending him away. Spending most days with Mary,Tom, and Edith, the boy is famed around the county for his Holmesian deduction skills ... and aptitude for machinery - which his father refuses to allow him to pursue. Serving as his father and ‘Uncle Edward’s’ assistant while investigating the murder, they find him a much bigger help than they thought possible.
Tumblr media
“You listen to me, Cowboy ... cause I’m only going to tell you once. You stay away from Sybbie, do you understand me?”
“I was just saying that she’s beautiful -”
“Under no circumstance do you go near her or even speak to that woman.”
“But what does a movie star want with me?”
“This conversation is concluded, mind what I say.”
“But, Pop ... wha -?”
“That’s an order, Cowboy.”
“Ye- yes, Sir.”

“It was traumatic a little bit. We see some deaths in this episode, and I think it kind of strains on the actors. But it’s about keeping the energy up so it can be significant and we can earn them,” she explained. “Without spoiling too much, there are some really funny group scenes that I was just dying laughing behind the camera. I always knew that we had such a talented cast, but when you see people do comedy you just realize how brilliant these actors are. The tiniest facial expression will just put you on your knees.”

One more thing. Mad kudos to Lil Henstridge. All the little clues, little actions and clues that tell us which time loop we are dealing with. The fact that I can depend on whether Daisy wakes up rubbing her face to identify what point in a time loop we are? That is excellent.
And the writer of this ep too. All the little clues that invite you to play Among Us with Daisy and Coulson. There are so many little details, but just enough that you can keep track and not too much that you get overwhelmed. The radiation flare and the cockpit door. The sparks. The radiation level is off the charts. Deke’s gross cologne. These are all wonderful wonderful clues.
I love Coulson in this ep. I’ve missed Coulson all of S6, and so far through the first half of S7, Coulson’s been more like a meme than, you know, someone with feelings. Not that I don’t enjoy fanboy/SHIELD history nerd Coulson. But one thing that made Coulson so likable as AOS develops is that you can depend on him for wise insights. And to see him offer that while squaring with his new life as an LMD... I couldn’t have asked for anything better.
You did it again, AOS. You always hit it out of the park.

This comes under the heading of better late than never, and many apologies to @singledarkshade for the lateness of this response to the Dream Movie Challenge. So, we were given six actors from our favourite TV shows/movies, a wildcard actor, and a random item. We had use these actors and the object to create our own movie.
I give you a supernatural romantic comedy, starring Matt Ryan, Elizabeth Henstridge, April Bowlby, Taika Waititi, Ellen Page, and Woody Harrelson. With a special appearance by Merryl Streep.
Tumblr media
Synopsis:
Max Webster is working as an investment banker in London, making huge amounts of money that support a lifestyle of clubs, bars and one night stands, until his boss and mentor commits fraud on a huge scale. Max is implicated, despite knowing nothing. He loses his job and not a single other bank in the city will touch him, meaning his career is effectively over and he’s rapidly going broke. Just when he thinks things can’t get worse, he is told that his sole relative, his estranged paternal grandmother has died and left him property in Brighton.
With nothing better to do and hopes that the property is worth something, Max heads to Brighton to tie up his grandmother’s affairs, dreading his time outside the capital and increasingly depressed about life. Upon arrival he meets Poppy Fletcher, his grandmother’s lawyer who was the one who contacted him about his grandmother’s death.
Max discovers that his grandmother was the proud owner of the “Worst Wax Museum in Britain”: The House of Wax. Only a handful of the wax statues look like who they’re supposed to be and the rest are like someone sculpted celebrities that they’d never seen. The museum is barely making enough to keep it afloat. He begins to make plans to sell the museum and at least make enough to pay off his Grandmother’s debts. Enter Cooper Farnsworth, rich American businessman, on the run from the Mafia after a dodgy deal went wrong. He desperately needs to make money fast.
But Max finds out that his inheritance is rather unusual in a number of ways...
For starters, there aren’t many wax museums where Meryl Streep hands out advice and enjoys watching the footy on the night watchman’s TV when the punters have gone home for the night. But it isn’t just Meryl, all of the waxworks come to life thanks to an old book of magic that is powered by the signatures of the guests and the messages they leave. The less visitors there are, the less magic there is to keep the waxworks alive and things have been getting desperate lately until only a handful of the waxworks have the necessary magic to come to life.
The waxworks tell Max about how his grandmother desperately tried to bring in more people, but her failing health meant that everything fell apart. Max discovers how his grandmother loved the museum and also loved him, despite her outwardly cool demeanour. He had thought that she didn’t care that he left Brighton, but Amelia unearths the letters that his grandmother wanted to send but didn’t have an address to send them to.
Max realises that he can’t sell the wax museum after all, and he enlists Poppy’s help in finding a way to keep it going. In the process she also discovers the secret of the museum, and Max and Poppy discover that they’re falling for each other. Meanwhile Cooper is plotting to get Max out because the listed building is worth more than Max is aware, especially with some of the period features.
The finale has Cooper breaking into the museum to destroy the waxworks, but Steve, the night watchman sounds the alarm. Cooper accidentally starts a fire and there is a desperate fight to save everyone from melting. Max and Poppy rally everyone to deal with the fire, and Cooper is arrested for arson.
The publicity from the fire actually brings in more customers, Max updates the museum with new exhibits, deciding to focus more on local history and tell the stories of the people who live in Brighton. He’s cleared of any wrong doing at the bank and Poppy helps him sue for wrongful dismissal. He uses the payout to finance repairs to the museum and more and more waxworks come alive every night as the visitors pour in.
And Max never thinks about leaving again, because now he has a family, albeit one that includes Meryl Streep, Amelia Earhart and Margaret Thatcher but he doesn’t mind.
Tumblr media
Max Webster (Matt Ryan): Max lost his parents when he was young and was raised by his paternal grandmother. The two did not get on and he left home as soon as he could for university and then the big city. He always had a love of risk taking and wanted to be rich, so he studied finance and got a job in banking. He spends his time closing deals in a highly stressful job during the day and then out on the town in the evening. He has very few friends, all of whom are from work, and he very rarely sleeps with the same woman twice. He has a very shallow outlook on life and everything is about money.
His life is changed by inheriting the House of Wax and discovering that his memories of his grandmother are flawed and desperately inaccurate. He deals with the unusual House of Wax that his grandmother created and his grief at her passing. He comes to realise that not everything in life is about the next deal or how much money can be made.
Tumblr media
Poppy Fletcher (Elizabeth Henstridge): Poppy is a lawyer and is responsible for executing Max’s grandmother’s will. She’s the one who hand Max the keys to the House of Wax and sees the look of disappointment on his face. She is very efficient and competent, loves the town she lives in and knows everyone on her street. She mourns the loss of Max’s grandmother, and has no idea that she was anything but the eccentric, elderly owner of the House of Wax. She doesn’t like Max at first because of his attitude to his grandmother and his version of her doesn’t seem to be the same as the woman she knew.
She ends up spending a lot of time with Max as the property sale becomes more difficult and after a while, she realises that he’s not at all the image that he projects. She starts helping him to get back on his feet and renovate the museum. Then she discovers about the magic book and she realises that she can’t let Max deal with the situation on his own.
Tumblr media
Florence Nightingale (April Bowlby): Florence doesn’t look like the picture that hangs next to her in the slightest. Even her period dress is somewhat suspect. She prefers to wear much more recent clothes and is doing online first aid courses at night. She’s slightly haughty and thinks she knows best.
She can see that Max is depressed and grieving when he arrives. She’s one of the driving forces behind getting Max to take better care of himself and to talk about how he feels. Once the museum is safe, she works at becoming qualified as a therapist and sees patients online, writing an agony aunt column for the local paper.
Tumblr media
Amelia Earhart (Ellen Page): She likes to pretend that she’s actually the pilot that she was sculpted to be. She’s very much her own person though, feisty and fun loving. She has no idea how to fly a plane, but has a flight simulator that Max’s grandmother gave her and is a computer game ace. She has the high score and no one can beat her.
She is the first waxwork that Max discovers is alive and persuades him that he isn’t hallucinating. She takes him to see the others when she realises that he’s the grandson of the previous owner.
She ends the film playing games in esports tournaments and winning, much to the amusement and delight of her fellow waxworks.
Tumblr media
Steve (Taika Waititi): The night watchman of the House of Wax. He’s always known as Steve and no one knows his full name. He never really seems to go home, he’s just there. Max is very confused by him at first, but eventually realises that he’s another waxwork. He was one of the first created and no one is ever sure who he was supposed to be, at the end of the film it’s discovered that he’s supposed to be Genghis Khan, but like most of the other waxworks he bears no resemblance to his original. He is quite protective of the museum though.
Tumblr media
Cooper Farnsworth (Woody Harrelson): An American property developer who is interested in buying the House of Wax and turning it into flats. He moved to the UK, to get away from some people who didn’t like him much (actually he double crossed the Mafia). He gets increasingly desperate to buy the House of Wax when some of his former business partners catch up with him, threatening Max and Poppy if they don’t sell up, but he never finds out the real secret of the museum. He thinks he’s hallucinating when he sees the waxworks move and fight back during the finale. He’s dragged away shouting about moving statues and charged with arson.
Tumblr media
Meryl Streep (herself): She is modelled after the three time Oscar winning actress and is the only waxwork who looks like she is supposed to. She’s something of a leader of the group, checking in with everyone to make sure that they’re doing okay. She’s concerned about the fading magic and trying to keep everyone’s spirits up. She offers very good advice to Max about how to run the museum, most of which Max ignores to begin with because he thinks he knows better. Later we see her taking on the museum accounts and running the financial side of the museum with Max listening carefully to her. He may have been a banker but those skills are very little use when it comes to book keeping.
Additional actors:
Arthur Darvill as David Bowie - Can actually sing, sounds nothing like David Bowie. Wants to be Major Tom and follows NASA on Twitter. Tom Ellis as Paul McCartney - Can also sing and taught himself to play the piano. Duets with Bowie to entertain the rest of the group. John Boyega as Frank Bruno - Hates punching people, is a total softy. Ryan Reynolds as Salvador Dali - He once tried painting and decided never to do so again. He prefers reading and writes poetry. Eccentric. Celia Imrie as Queen Victoria - Knows everything that there is about Queen Victoria. She misses Albert who hasn’t woken up for a while now due to lack of magic.

jasmin henstridge, an introduction
( ALYCIA DEBNAM-CAREY, CISFEMALE, SHE/HER, SCORPIO, 26 ) I spotted JASMIN HENSTRIDGE at the beach today. Don’t you know them? They live down by the TOWERS and usually hang out with the ACADEMICS clique. From what I’ve heard, they can be SHY, but they’re also NURTURING. I always think of them when i hear CONEY ISLAND - TAYLOR SWIFT & THE NATIONAL and tend to associate them with WHITE MARBLE, USELESS FACTS SAID AT RANDOM MOMENTS, AN OBSESSION WITH ANCIENT HISTORY.
Tumblr media
pinterest board
TW: car crash, depression
the basics
full name: jasmin rose henstridge
nicknames: jas, jazzy, j
birthday: november 1, 1994
birthplace: brooklyn, new york
gender/pronouns/sexuality: cisfemale/she&her/pansexual
children: leo henstridge - son
occupation: archivist of ancient roman and italian history at the museum
education: two bachelor degrees - ancient history & latin
height: five foot six inches
love language: quality time
language spoken: english (fluently), italian (fluently), french (fluently), can read latin
the history
jasmin was never ordinary. she progressed quickly even as a small child, and only continued that trend when she grew older. she was reading chapter books by kindergarten, and quickly grew impatient in her standard classes. once they realized that she was special, her parents placed her in a gifted academy. here is where she truly thrived as she was able to be challenged academically - though she still outperformed all her peers.
she took a quick liking to books, especially to stories of the past. history had fascinated her from early on, and she could remember even the smallest facts perfectly.
her idea of fun growing up involved sitting in the library and reading a history textbook or teaching herself a new language. she taught herself how to speak french and italian all on her own, and still speaks them fluently today.
she was pretty quiet growing up, and preferred to keep to herself and her books.
with her smarts, it was no surprise that she went to an ivy league at the age of 16. columbia university was always her dream school, and there, she finally felt like she belonged.
when she was 19, she got a call one day saying that her sister and her boyfriend at the time had been hit by a drunk driver. she was killed instantly. this has absolutely shattered jasmin, sending her into a deep depressive mindset for years.
desperate for a new beginning, jasmin moved to sunhollow right after graduating high school. it was here, that she met who she thought was the love of her life. sure, she had fallen in love before, but he was different. things moved quickly between them, and after only 3 months of dating, he proposed. about two weeks later, jasmin fell pregnant. and as soon as he found out, he called off the engagement and disappeared. jasmin has not seen him since.
truthfully, jasmin did have thoughts of ending her pregnancy, but her desire to be a mother overcame all other thoughts, and she went through with her pregnancy. it was extremely difficult to do on her own, but it was also the most beautiful nine months of her life. on september 28th, 2019, jasmin gave birth to a healthy baby boy: leo henstridge.
motherhood really changed jasmin for the better. she’s perfected her routine, and doesn’t like to differ from it in even the slightest way. she’s extremely protective of her son, and will always put him first, no matter what. jasmin will do anything and everything for her baby boy.
love is no longer an option for her. she’s still heartbroken over her ex-fiance, and is completely turned off from the idea of ever falling in love again. she never wants to experience the pain of heartbreak again. and for that reason, she can seem a bit cold and harsh, but she just doesn’t like to let people in. self-preservation is her ultimate goal.
the tidbits
she’s been sober since her sister’s accident, and never plans to take even a sip of alcohol ever again.
her ultimate goal is to get her master’s, then her doctorate’s, but she wants to wait until leo is a bit older.
jasmin is very closed off. like, doesn’t ever talk about her emotions. to this day, she feels so humiliated by her ex-fiance that she doesn’t ever want to be vulnerable again.
overall though, she’s very sweet, but won’t take any bullshit either.
there isn’t a day that goes by where she doesn’t miss her sister. she blames herself. a part of her understands that there was nothing she could do, but she still wonders if she could’ve stopped it.

what a unique and powerful episode. kudos to Ms. Henstridge for directing
its a fun twist that Coulson remembered, and that Daisy didn’t have to keep convincing him too
him and Daisy make such a good team. and family.
the whole team didn’t remember along the way too, right? just the final bit.
Enoch’s whole monologue at the end was really powerful and thoughtful. like, he’s lived so long, and seen so much. he’s become part of the team. and part of the family. Coulson understood what it’s like to die; that helped.
to now be without him sucks, even if it’s for a good reason. rest in peace, Enoch. and thank you.
I hope we see Fitz soon. though it’s sad that he will never see Enoch again
(also, I love how much Jemma and Deke have bonded, and I know there’s not a lot of time left, but I wish we’d gotten to see Fitz and Deke bond more too. maybe in the last couple episodes?)
I was starting to ship Daisy and Sousa, you know just kinda like, sure yeah, I like it fine, to now, I’m totally on board.
I really loved their conversation, about how he’s the kind of person who will be there when people he cares about fall because they are trying to so hard.
too bad he doesn’t remember, but that doesn’t matter because it’s still true. it’s still how he feels, and how he feels about Daisy, because he has it bad. they both do.
those kisses made me legit squeal. I didn’t expect it, and it made me happy.
I hope they end up together.
and I am glad that even though Enoch said that this is the team’s last mission together, that everyone survives. I just hope they are not permanently separated.

bio
𝐒𝐇𝐄 𝐈𝐒 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐄𝐍𝐃 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐋𝐃. she  is  not  the  universe’s demise.  she  is  not  armageddon  inside  the  body  of  a  human  girl!  she  is  not, she  is  not,  she  is  not!
she  is  callista  cassidy,  and  she  is  twenty  six  years  old.  she  hasn’t  existed  from  the  beginning  of  time,  living  deep  within  a  star,  waiting  for  that  star  to  come  crashing  to  earth  where,  thirty  years  later,  she  will  bring  about  the  end  of  the  world  as  we  know  it.  that’s  all  crazy,  it’s  nonsense,  it’s  not  her!
she  was  adopted  to  nova  and  colton  cassidy,  astronomers  who  found  her,  a  wiggling  pink  infant,  among  the  ruins  of  a  meteor  that  had  crashed  to  earth.  they’d  watch  the  meteor  since  it  was  a  star,  high  in  the  sky.  they  watched  it  for  years,  floating  closer  and  closer  to  earth.  they  watched  it  until  it  turned  into  a  shooting  star,  and  then  a  meteor  falling,  and  eventually  crashing,  to  the  earth’s  surface.
why  had  they  been  watching  that  one,  particular  star  for  so  long?
because  there’d  been  many  coded  prophecies  about  that  star,  and  what  it  held  inside.  and,  for  thousands  of  years,  there  was  no  one  who  could  decode  the  prophecies,  so  they  were  left  to  collect  dust  in  an  old  library  book  in  the  library  that  nova’s  family  had  owned  and  run  for  generations.  neither  she  or  her  parents  either  knew  the  book  was  even  there.  that  is,  until  colton  gage  came  along,  and  tore  apart  the  astronomy  section  of  the  library,  finding  the  book  hidden  among  the  others.
it  took  him  years,  and  the  help  of  his  future  wife,  nova,  who  had  an  iq  of  over  190,  spoke  almost  every  language  imaginable,  and  was  quite  a  puzzle  fanatic.  she  saw  the  book’s  code  as  a  challenge,  one  that  she  was  quite  gung  ho  to  unlock!  she  and  colton  spent  years  working  on  the  prophecy,  leaning  how  to  read  it  by  reading  the  stars  and  planets  and  their  different  alignments  and  moons.
but  then  they  did  decode  it,  and  it  spoke  of  a  celestial  being,  in  the  centre  of  a  star,  who  would  not  only  destroy  earth,  and  all  the  planets  in  the  solar  system,  but  decimate  the  very  universe.
and  the  prophecy  said  those  who  brought  her  into  her  thirtieth  year,  the  year  of  the  end,  would  ascend  to  another  level  of  being  with  the  child  the  prophecy  called  apocalypse.  but  she  would  come  to  be  known  by  a  different  name,  too.  a  human  name.  callista.  because,  according  to  her  “parents”  she  was  the  most  beautiful  girl  in  this  world,  and  the  next,  and  any  other  that  there  may  be.
as  a  celestial,  callista  barely  fit  in  with  the  humans  she  was  surrounded  with.  she  surpassed  her  same  -  age  peers  in  school  within  days,  and  had  graduated  high  school  at  age  six.  it  only  took  her  one  year  to  breeze  through  all  twelve  years  worth  of  schooling  and  knowledge,  and  then  she  was  homeschooled  in  college  courses,  but,  she  quickly  surpassed  even  her  mother’s  knowledge,  and  by  the  age  of  eight,  she  was  teaching  herself  astro  -  physics  and  neurological  chemistry.  at  ten,  she  was  enrolled  in  her  first  actual  college  classes,  and  graduated  with  her  first  phd  at  age  of  twelve.
as  she  grew  up,  callista  just  kept  collecting  phds  and  doctorates  in  all  manner  of  field  of  study.
it  was  when  she  was  twenty  two  that  she  came  across  her  parent’s  prophecy,  and,  unlike  everyone  else,  she  could  read  it  as  easy  as  she  could  read  english  because  the  prophecy  was  written  in  her  mother  tongue,  her  language,  the  language  of  her  people,  from  her  higher  plane  of  existence.  and  it  was  that  year,  after  discovering  it  was  she  was  apocalypse,  that  her  powers  began  and  bloomed.
and  she  was  angry.  enraged.  she  was  living  in  denial  and,  no  matter  how  her  parents  tried,  they  could  not  pull  her  out  of  her.  to  this  day,  callista  denies  being apocalypse,  but  she  no  longer  ignores  her  power   —   because,  when  she  did,  they  came  out  anyway,  in  explosive  ways   —   she  instead  began  developing  them,  deciding  firmly  that  she  would  grow  into  them  and  she  would  use  them  for good,  that  she  would  be  a  force  of  good  in  the  world,  not  be  the  one  that  ends it.
personality
moral alignment: lawful good
a lawful good character acts as a good person is expected or required to act. she combines a commitment to oppose evil with the discipline to fight relentlessly. she tells the truth, keeps his word, helps those in need, and speaks out against injustice. a lawful good character hates to see the guilty go unpunished.
the istj personality type is thought to be the most abundant, making up around 13% of the population. their defining characteristics of integrity, practical logic and tireless dedication to duty make istjs a vital core to many families, as well as organizations that uphold traditions, rules and standards, such as law offices, regulatory bodies and military. people with the istj personality type enjoy taking responsibility for their actions, and take pride in the work they do – when working towards a goal, istjs hold back none of their time and energy completing each relevant task with accuracy and patience.
people of this personality type are essentially looking to make things better, as they think nothing is ever quite good enough. this makes them perfectionists who desire to reform and improve; idealists who strive to make order out of the omnipresent chaos. ones have a fine eye for detail. they are always aware of the flaws in themselves, others and the situations in which they find themselves. this triggers their need to improve, which can be beneficial for all concerned, but which can also prove to be burdensome to both the one and those who are on the receiving end of the one’s reform efforts.
melancholic people are emotionally sensitive, perfectionistic introverts.
