Nadira Redesign
Hi everyone! Like I've said before, I've been rewriting and redesigning Nadira since getting back into The Orville and having much more Kakorean lore to work with and to work into her story.
I present redesigned Nadira!
Tumblr media
I hope I've shown improvement in my drawings since the last time I drew Nadira (I'll actually draw a full body version soon). A lot of her changes are giving her more personality in my opinion that comes from the world that Kakoro has become and the arc she can go through with the crew of the Orville.
Nadira works in Security. First alongside Alara and later Talla as a Lieutenant. But appears to take up a secondary position to the Chief of Security. When working with Alara, she was acting more like a teacher to the young woman. With Talla, they're more evenly levelled colleagues.
Kakoreans are known as pacifists that take in refugees and other people in need. While they work with the Union, it's rare to see them on ships, let alone apply for positions on them. Even rarer for them to apply for Security. So when Nadira first arrived on The Orville, the crew was surprised to see quite a tough-looking drake.
I'll be sure to write an OC sheet for her. But I hope the changes so far are cool anyway!

So while Roksana is usually my Clone Wars OC, I was watching the Original Trilogy, I began imagining how Roksana would fit in. This older Roksana is based on the scenario that Anakin and herself were still friends during the clone wars and while she loved him, she knew that he waas with Padme. She chose to not voice her feelings. Instead, she tried her best to help Anakin whenever she noticed him slip further to the dark side.
She tried to pull him back to the light, but she couldn’t in the end. So this older version of Roksana is paired with Darth Vader. Still trying to reach out to her old friend.

The results speak for themselves. An Ejderhalar raised by a Saiyan!
I’ve decided that she will be an Arctic (Draykle) Ejderhalar! The first one that I’ve truly made into an OC. Time to make my first fluffy girl! Who’s also ready to beat your face into the ground.
As well as scaring the shit out of Poor Cahira who just wants to help this ejderhalar understand her heritage, but since this ejderhalar is raised by Saiyans, she wouldn’t find herself able to connect to Cahira as an ejderhalar, maybe even holds some resentment because of what happened either to her actual parents or even to the other Saiyans.
Cause if she feels more at home with Saiyans (but still understand Ejderhalar habits), she could mad that the ejderhalar didn't do anything to help the Saiyans from their near extinction

Hi! Me again after way too long!
So I just watched season 3, episode 1 of the Orville and now I'm really gonna rewatch the series again and redo my OC Nadira. cause I love this setting, but I'm confident that I've improved in drawing and writing since the last time I posted here.
And the lore of the Kakoreans has expanded so much since I made Nadira, it's going to be fun implementing that into a new version of her. Plus she's due for a redraw and possibly a redesign
I've also been compiling my Kakorean lore into a world anvil page, you're free to read here

So I doubt anyone remembers when I posted Ozsut, cause I don't post much here at the moment...
BUT I want you all to meet Xander!
He joins Ozsut and others on their journey begrudgingly. He doesn't appear to get along with most of the group because of what he was taught about the other subspecies as a child. He just about has an amicable relationship with Ozsut.
That's 2 of the main Horned Crown gang! 3 more to go!

What is a ‘Dragon’? (Captian Ed Mercer x Nadira) Part 1
Pairing: Captain Ed Mercer x Nadira (Original Female Character)
Series Synopsis: Nadira is the only Kakorean aboard the Orville and indeed feels lonely no matter how much she denies it to anyone who asks. So Ed decides to reach out to her, hoping to make her feel comfortable. It turns out they bond more than either of them expected.
Author's Notes: This was meant to just be a one-shot, but I didn't want to write a long one-shot, so this is now gonna be a little series. So have fun with that, I guess.
Tumblr media
"Lieutenant Nadira's finished her report about the treaty. She says she sent it to you, Captain." Alara informed Ed, glancing over her shoulder to check if he nodded.
Glancing down at his comscanner, he received the notification of the document. He nodded "Yep, got it." This was going to be a fun report. It had been a few days since the Navarian-Bruidian conflict and... eventual agreement over Lopovius.
No one was daring to mention what had happened with Darulio, especially  Ed and Kelly. They were both trying to bang the retepsian. At the same time, the lone Kakorean ran herself silly around the ship to accommodate the two warring species.
Ed's brows furrowed as he thought about it. "Alara," Ed spoke up, lifting his gaze to the xelayan as she turned to him curiously. "Has Nadira left her office today? At all?"
"I don't think so, sir. I saw her this morning for breakfast. But once her shift started, she hasn't made a move." Alara's brows as she recalled the movements of her friend, her lips formed into a hard line, slowly nodding her head, confirming to Ed and herself of her thoughts.
Ed nodded in return, shifting in his chair as he stared at the comscanner. His fingers tapped at the armrest relentlessly. The trail for them was smooth, which was excellent! But it left Ed's head unoccupied, left to swarm with random thoughts.
The Captain abruptly stood from his chair, telling Kelly that he'd be back soon. The blonde blinked, opening her mouth to question what he was doing, but he was gone before the words could be sounded. With a sigh, Kelly moved to the Captain's chair.
Ed's path was uninterrupted and swift, it wasn't long before he was standing in front of the Relations Office where Nadira resided. He tapped the large button on the screen beside the door. The loud beep earning a hesitant 'Come in.' from the woman inside. Ed stepped inside, looking up to greet the Kakorean.
Nadira's dark purple eyes shot up from her work. She blinked upon seeing Ed, her scaly ears pointing shooting up to match her expression. "Captain! What brings you here?" She asks, closing her desk screen to give Ed her full attention.
"Sorry, am I not welcome?" He asked, the corner of his lips quirking upwards in an amused smirk.
"Huh? No-No-No-No! I just didn't expect--" The Kakorean fumbled, standing from her chair and waving her clawed hands frantically.
"Nadira. It's alright, I was joking,"  Ed chuckled as he gestured for her to relax. He watched as she returned to her seat, her shoulders slumping along with her wings and ears. Ed found himself smiling softly as he observed the way Nadira would react. It reminded him of Earth's cats, it was cute.
"My apologies, Captain. Guess I've been tense lately..." Nadira admitted, scratching the side of her head sheepishly.
"Yeah... about that, uh, do you wanna get a drink? Later tonight." Ed blurted out, quickly shutting his mouth already kicking himself for just suggesting this out of the blue. Was she even comfortable around him? Yeah, he was too forward. Ed raised his hands to dismiss the idea.
"Drinks? With me?" Nadira interrupted, raising an eyebrow as she gestured to herself. "If I may ask sir; why?" She tilted her head.
Ed sighed, stepping forward to sit on the chair before her desk. Running a hand through his hair, he looked back at Nadira with furrowed brows, while she looked back at him with confusion and curiosity.
"I feel bad." He said, but Nadira simply continued to tilt her head, subtly requesting that he elaborate. "You, Alara and the rest of the crew were handling everything while I was..." He attempted to choose the right word for what happened, his hands coming up like he was physically trying to build the name. He ultimately huffed in defeat, then shrugging his shoulders "... you know."
Nadira's lips morphed into a smile, gentle and kind. She spoke softly, "Captain. It wasn't your fault. No one on this ship expected what happened. In fact, I'm still annoyed that I wasn't informed of this, or that the Union didn't know." She chuckled, then shrugging her shoulders. "But that's behind us. Well, we'll remember if we have another retepsian on board."
"Oh, god no." Was Ed's immediate reaction to the idea, surprising the Kakorean. Nadira snorted, swiftly covering her mouth with her hand, but it didn't stop her giggling from being heard.
"I'm s-sorry, C-Captain," Her wings unfolded from her back, moving to cover her face as she attempted to regain her composure. "That was inappropriate and rude, I'm so sorry!"
"Hey," Ed stood up, reaching out, placing his hand upon the blue scales of her wing and gently moving the limb away. "It's alright, Nadira. I'm not offended." He offered a little smile. Which grew wider as Nadira's wings to shifted away to show an embarrassing blush on her face.
Both sat in silence as their eyes shifted, eventually making contact. Ed cleared his throat, stepping back sheepishly while Nadira rubbed the back of her neck similarly.
"Uh, so are you interested in having a drink?" Ed asked, breaking the timid silence.
Nadira glanced to the side, then returning her gaze to her Captain. She smiled and nodded. "I am. It sounds nice. Thank you, Captain."
"Call me, Ed. See you tonight after our shifts. Mess Hall?" He asked.
"Mess Hall." Nadira confirmed, "See you tonight... Ed." His name came out hesitantly like she was testing it out on her tongue. Both smiled at the sound of it before returning to their posts—both anxious for the night ahead.

The Orville OC: Nadira, Relations Officer by DS3942
She's finally here. The oc I said I'd make the head of this blog, also her character form is under construction now. (As well as a directory for her alien species)

Don't wake Nadira (OC Sketch)
Tumblr media
"So it's only when I'm ordered to actually get some rest is when everyone needs me? Should have known."
Nadira has a small habit of working into late nights or in some cases for a days. Claire hates it and tells her to actually gets some rest. But, of course, Nadira 'forgets'.
Today Nadira was ordered by Ed to actually get some rest, telling her that she is off duty until she has recooperated. But with her luck, that's when everyone seems to need her. 😂
So I thought some disheveled Nadira would be funny. Mood. Me on school days 🤣

I finally got around to doing my boy’s concept work!
Just him on his own: https://sta.sh/0sh31sqt7q4
This is Ozsut. He’s one of the main protagonists in my personal story. He’s more the main character as he is the one sent on the journey to unite the other subspecies of Kakorean. He’s a librarian from the desert, he didn’t think he was meant for anything like this.
He’s a part of a species of aliens I haved called the Kakoreans, or the ejderhalar. I made them on a whim for a fandom OC a few years back. But then a friend of ine starting asking question after question, to the point that they were developed enough for me to care about them XD
But it’s taken me a long time before actually concepting the main gang of the story. I hope to get to get them as well :)

Possible OC changes
@beans-and-rice101
dude, hear me out on this! But I was watching a video essay about Peter Quill’s character (which is very interesting btw) and I started to think about our dear Valeska as a character.
-She’s lost her mother (At fucking 5 years old)
-Her father is banished by her people for a (debatably appropriate) reaction to your mate being murdered, leading to her and her sister being taken away from their ancestral home because of said banishment.
-She then has to grow up on a planet she doesn’t know nor that understands her or her family. Scraping by while trying to teach little Ata the best they can.
-then her father passes away (and they are unable to give him a proper Kakorean funeral), then her sister leaves her in a rage.
And she comes out of this with what? Slightly inhibited social skills and trust issues? She starts to live a static existence until the Guardians encounter her by chance.
Consider these changes:
Instead of just accepting a static life, she does a 180. Becomes Gladiator to a local arena. This;
-Allows her to make a more reliable living, rather than relying on her own biology.
-Gives her combat skills that I have never addressed (nor truly gave her) in her original backstory. Could even garner her more respect from the Guardians on first meeting (at least the ones that already know Kakorean nature)
-Creates a larger separation from her people. She’s been able to thrive through something they truly. But at the same time, she only took that road as her last resort. Which is something her people can learn to respect.
Instead of Ata being an angry woman who have not appeared to have matured in her world, I suggest that the sisters' bond was actually strengthens after their father's death.
-They would realise that they are the only ones who understand one another. But this could be because they also come to the assumption of how small they were in the grand scheme of things.
-They would end working for the better goal of at least enjoying their lives.
-Valeska's value of Family would be stronger and make more sense in the long run. She would understand the need to stand together.
Her initial stand off-ish nature would still be there because she does not know these people, but does respect the need to protect so she would choose to fight with them. Her eventual bond with the guardians does become familial and strong through these experiences.

Quick update
Alright alright. I know that I have barely been making prompts or really writing much lately.
Mostly just because I wanted to enjoy my holidays for Christmas and the new year. Cause this is my last year of school starting soon, I'm turning 18 and I will need to pull my head out of my ass.
I am still writing different things, but it’s just very slowly cause I have the bad habit of procrastinating with both my writing and homework! XD
Yeah, I need to break the habit
Anyway, I am still going to try and finish other x readers  I said  I would, but I am working on some of my own personal projects, which do include ocs, my oc blogs, oc x canon oneshots/stories and even planning to write a possibly long story about the Kakoreans’ (Ejderhalar) first Alpha and his journey to unite the subspecies of Kakoro under the Horned Crown.
Feel free to call me a mad woman for all I want to do while in school, I already know I am XD but I will do my best to make 2019 fun.

NEW OC!
This is Pravallika. Mostly known as Prava, she lives during the era of The Mandalorian and Book of Boba Fett series'. Having lived during the time of the Clone Wars, she's watched her people abandon their homeland and many Kakoreans die when the Empire took control.
Her Mum, Perdita, was the Alpha of Kakoro during the war. Her Ma gave her life to let Prava and Perdita escape. Sadly, Perdita would pass away not long after getting Prava to safety, and gave her young daughter the Alpha Flame.
Not wanting to carry the title itself, Prava carries the Alpha Flame in a special container to keep the sentient flame alive. A few months after Perdita's death, Prava was found by a lone Mandalorian and brought to the same covert as Din.
