this was an experiment to test my hypothesis “if i keep the lineart the same but change up the coloring/shading a little bit, then i can drastically change the tone of a piece.�� the result? i think that worked, yeah

My favorite Rin modules/outfits.....part ONE because I love her so much.

My very favorite has been Sour for a while, but I’m starting to REALLY love Append lately as well!! (It does, however, lose a few points for being really fucking hard to draw /hj

Image description under the cut, it’s six drawings so it got pretty long!

“Trad School” is a brown and yellow school uniform. Rin is smiling and flashing a peace sign. She has a short yellow bob with black hair clips. Her jacket is dark brown, short, and cropped, and is worn over her yellow and white button up and yellow tie. Her skirt is a lighter brown with a yellow stripe at the bottom. She’s wearing dark tights and black uniform shoes.

“Lyrical Star” is the outfit to the right of that. Rin’s hair is a pastel yellow pixie cut, her skin is fair, and her eyes are light teal. She has on a white shirt with yellow stripes and yellow and pink ruffles on the collar. Over that is a cropped, short-sleeved yellow jacket with a long tail. The sleeves are puffed and have mint colored cuffs, and it has a pink sailor collar. The inside of the coattail is pink as well. She has goofy mint shorts, white knee socks, yellow wedged sneakers, a bracelet, white bobby pins, a white bow, and a teal treble clef lapel pin. Rin is bending over at the waist and waving with one hand.

Her “Append” design is to the right. In this, Rin’s hair is darker and more orangey-yellow. She’s standing at a 3/4 view with one leg bent up and doing a peace sign with one hand, winking and sticking her tongue out. She had a white halter top that zips up the front with a black treble clef as the zipper pull. Safety yellow suspender-like straps along the top go into her belt, and then hang loosely from the bottom of the belt. Her shorts are off-white with a yellow stripe. She has white gauntlets that go up to her shoulder underneath long, sheer, black and yellow gauntlets. She has white thigh-high boots under similar sheer leg warmers. She’s wearing white headphones with a sheer white bow and white bobby pins.

In the bottom left is her “Default”” outfit. Her hair is a bright yellow layered bob, and her skin is fair. She’s wearing white headphones with a big white bow on top, and white bobby pins. Her top is a white cropped tank top with a black sailor collar and a yellow bow tie. She has cuffed black shorts, white shoes with a yellow sole, black gauntlets and black leg warmers, a belt with a yellow and orange zigzag design, and a matching suspender hanging down. Rin is balanced on one leg, leaning over to the right, smiling and waving.

In the center is “Dreaming Panda.” Rin’s short yellow hair is done in small pigtails, with white bobby pins in her long sides wept bangs. She’s wearing a long-sleeved pale pink shirt over a purple long-sleeve, an orange pleated skirt, a purple bandana around her neck, white and pink striped knee socks, and brown knee-high boots. She also has a yellow, orange, and pink bow broach with strings of white pearls hanging from it. She is balancing on one leg with her knee bent forward, arms at her sides, and smiling.

In the bottom left is her “Sour” outfit, the black version. Rin is leaning to the left with her left leg bent inwards, doing a finger gun with one hand, and smiling mischievously with half-lidded eyes. Her hair is a very shaggy bob, yellow to peach ombre. She’s wearing black bobby pins in an “X” formation and black headphones with a big black bow on top. One eye is pink and one eye is blue. Her dress is short and black, with a black sailor collar, yellow bow tie, blue buttons, with orange and blue stripes the edges of the skirt and collar. Her underskirt is yellow. She also has on black fingerless gloves with blue and orange striping, black thigh-high socks, and yellow uniform shoes.

#713 - Devil’s Manners (Kitani Tatsuya) [Kagamine Rin]

Another underrated producer makes it to the list with his most famous song, the original title is Dances with the Devil or something like that, but this is the English title. Rin easily reaches the high notes to give that power, which is why she is the rock queen.

#714 - Astronauts (Shiina Mota) [Hatsune Miku]

Powapowa-P quietly enters his third song. Another fan favorite, it’s a long and beautiful march through self-acceptance. Perhaps a healing song, not in terms of encouragement but more catharsis. The intro reminds of Dawn and Firefly?

#715 - Cinderella (DECO*27) [Hatsune Miku]

Achievement Date: 22-06-25, Upload Date: 21-08-06

Second in the Mannequin Trilogy, a shy counterpart to Vampire. Less provocative but more put together, in my opinion. It seems like the song is step away from the sexual nature of the album, but there are heavy hints the interest is uh… yeah.

Speedcore with Piano, like other 150P songs, of course the urban legend is the solitary hide and seek and also a midnight announcement, like the thing from Persona 4… pretty much on par for the series, will be the same as we get more songs.

#717 - Shitsuraku Petri (Nanahoshi Orchestra) [Hatsune Miku]

For someone who has a healthy relationship, this song about a relationship gone sour seems… a stretch. It almost feels like a dysfunctional relationship is their thing. The mix of latin and rock guitar is a delicious combination and the tuning fits too!

A very well-tuned intro, it’s like if Mitchie M decided to use Miku Dark, which seems incongruent but it’s beautiful. Another longing song, which is pretty much the case for keeno songs, but it’s really well done. I guess all keeno song are like that…

#C-10 - CH4NGE (Giga) [Kafu]

Giga using KAFU? What would that be like? Apparently it’s this. I’m amused that someone like KAFU singing a Giga song, but it’s not bad. The get-up in the MV makes me tickle a bit though. I really like that style. Okay, let’s move on.

This might be Tsumiki’s most famous song before Phony, actually. Still in the fast-paced range but the voice is prominent and more flexible, especially in the pre-chorus.

You know Orangestar makes Miku songs, and sometimes they sound like IA songs? This is one such song. Unlike IA, which breeze through the song, Miku kind of rests a bit, and take a emphasis here and there, but really on the fact she doesn’t know much.

The second miki song, again by n-buna, and again shows n-buna is the one for miki and the reverse the same. Miki even sounds like suis at times. The subject is about painting and creation, so this is their Gunjo, apparently. A really good song.
