A Cozy Lookbook Ft. The Strangerville Gang

No one asked me to show my OCs in their cozy clothes, but I did it anywaaaaaaay!!!! (Just imagine I sang that) Yes this is a dumb lookbook, but I had fun!! I was inspired by the random simblr question anon that was going around a couple days ago asking to see people's OCs in lazy Sunday clothes.

Sidenote: I ask that you ignore any weird, crunchy bits if you can. 🙈 I took out my height sliders, but once I lined them up side-by-side I realized that they looked so weird all the same height, so I adjusted that manually. A Halloween Lookbook Ft. The Strangerville Gang

A recreation of a bunch of dorks™ taking one night to set aside their never-ending Strangerville mystery solving attempts by being forced to dress up for Tashia's yearly Halloween Party and the 8-Bit.

Tashia was the one who forced them to dress up, obviously. 😉

I felt obligated to share something Halloween themed, so I give you my very best attempt at dressing up my very favorite pixels. Don't worry - Junia didn't bleach her hair (it's just a wig) and Anwar is a last minute thrown together vampire, you just can't see his fangs in the picture. I hope you guys like this lookbook! ♡

A Strangerville Lookbook, pt. 3 Ft. Junia Cahill

Junia wasn’t crazy about her dad taking up residence in Strangerville when he crash-landed there about 9 years ago. She was 18 at the time and freshly moved out, so she didn’t feel like it was her place to try and talk him out of it. Plus, after her mother died (she was about 10 at the time), George’ had to make a lot of sacrifices and be the strong one for Junia, all while he was grieving. That led to his life being put on hold, and Junia thought maybe the change of scenery wasn’t the worst thing for his healing process.

In the years since her mom died, Junia has focused primarily on athletics and keeping up with a rigorous daily workout routine, but her art is a sacred escape that brings her closer to her mother, so she does that privately. Well.... except for that stint in high school where she was tagging around town. She hated school so college was a no-go, but she’s traveled a lot and makes money working as a mechanic, using all the skills she learned from her father growing up. Now, however, she’s moved back to Strangerville to keep an eye on her dad, as she’s worried about his safety with the town’s recent streak of missing people, shady coverups, and politically-charged attacks. Much like her dad, she’s kind of seen as a town pariah and many people would even go as far as to call her unhinged because of a stint at the 8-Bit Saloon a few years back. Needless to say, her return to Strangerville hasn’t gone unnoticed...

Junia is an OC that I created for my Strangerville gameplay story - you can see the original post that features all the characters HERE. I do want to note that in the Strangerville GP George Cahill (her father) is apparently evil? I changed that lol. That’s just... not how I see him. But overall I’m happy with how I translated her from brain to page to game, but my only complaint is that I wish there was more visible definition on her muscles, especially her arms! We need more skin overlays/skin details for buff ladies in the sims 4 cc community.

Today I'm sharing my Strangerville OCs full names, birthdays and zodiac signs because I realized I've never done that and it would probably be a good idea to document these things so I don't forget them!

(Help me my brain is so tired this took forever.)

Zoe Renee Tate: February 10th, Aquarius

Erwin Michael Pries: October 15th, Libra

Tashia Latrice Moore : August 9th, Leo

Anwar ibn Samir ibn Hadi al Nabih: August 24th, Virgo

***** Note that Anwar's secondary names are not actually "middle names" as the western format would assume, but they actually are his father's name (Samir) and his grandfather's name (Hadi). In other words, his name would be "Anwar, son of Samir, son of Hadi. He only uses this formality in certain settings, mainly in the presence of his family and other Arabic-speaking people. Nabih is his family's identifying surname (which they actually chose for the sake of fitting western naming conventions when his father's family left Palestine three-or-so generations before Anwar was even born). Since most of his life has been lived in America, he has always just gone by Anwar Nabih in school/with coworkers/etc. "for the sake of simplicity and maintaining sanity."

Junia "June" Ahyoka Cahill - May 7th, Taurus

*****Note that Junia's mother was Hispanic (dad's side) and Cherokee (mom's side), so Junia's middle name pays homage to their native roots. It means "She brought happiness." Junia didn't actually have a middle name at birth, she received it once her mother felt she knew her daughter well enough to give her a native name that "reflected her true nature." (Junia was around 7 years old).

Bonus: Margaret Diedre Pries - June 29th, Cancer

Theodore Beckett Roswell III - January 3rd, Capricorn

*****Note that Beckett is named after his father, Ted Roswell (II) and his grandfather Ted Roswell (I), but he goes by his middle name "Beckett" when the story takes off. His mom actually calls him "Theo" though, as did the Strangerville locals who watched him grow up.

What’s their sleep schedule like?

For all the Stranger Vill OCS please.

Zoe - Usually a perfectly adequate sleeper. Does all the good routine things like keeping her phone on silent and away from her bed, aiming to go to bed at a decent hour, having a consistent evening skincare routine, etc. Sometimes she'll get caught up in a good read or fall down a research rabbit hole and stay up late, but that's pretty rare (she has good self control haha... can't relate). Overall she averages 6-8 hours a night usually. She also is an early riser and aims to get up around the same time every day - most days she even goes on a morning run!

Erwin - No sleep schedule whatsoever and struggles to fall asleep every night. Only gets up early if he has to. Usually ends up having to take melatonin or something of that nature to help him fall asleep, and even then he might still only fall asleep after two hours of laying in bed restless and a couple of smoke breaks. It's pretty common for him to wake throughout the night from nightmares, because a song is stuck in his head, because he's had an idea or thought that won't leave him until he acts on it, and so on. Averages maybe 3-4 hours of sleep a night.

Junia - Has a surprisingly good sleep schedule and is a chronic napper as well. Has the sleep schedule of an elderly person in that tries to be in bed no later than 10pm. Somehow still sleeps in all the time even though she goes to bed early, so some nights she'll get 13 hours of sleep... no joke. Can fall asleep anywhere and does not like losing sleep/having her sleep interrupted.

Anwar - He's a paramedic and typically works nights, so his sleep schedule is kind of wonky. I think if he gets 5 hours of sleep he's happy with that.

Tashia - Her evening schedule is completely based on vibes lol - sometimes she feels like going to bed early, some nights she wants to go out all night or stay up until 3am. She is a night owl at her core but ever since she took over the bar she's had to get up hella early, so that's been a bit of an adjustment. She operates scarily well on any amount of sleep though!

Beckett - Depends on the night! Some nights Beckett is restless and sleeps very little, but that's usually only when he's nervous/excited about something he'll be doing the next day. Most of the time though, Beckett sleeps fine and averages 7-8 hours. Like Zoe, he's also an early riser but he's not a runner lol. He mostly likes to wake early just to get some fresh air and "watch he world wake up." He has more of a morning routine than a bed time routine!

Strangerville Gameplay OCs... but in their awkward high school forms 😈

I will admit that this was completely self-indulgent. I had to make younger Zoe and Erwin because there are flashbacks in the story (plus I need to take pictures for their family homes and such) but I couldn’t resist making Junia, Anwar, Tashia, and Beckett while I was at it. I especially love Tashia who turned out so adorable. Plus, I love this hair by @sleepingsims on her!

So... here you guys go! I know no one asked for it, but I haven’t finished Anwar and Beckett’s lookbooks yet so I wanted to post a lil something for you guys in the meantime.

random question but erwin gives Lana stan vibes and same lolz but then i wondered what music your characters from strangerville story all listen to?

First off I am so happy to answer this question for you!! Thank you for asking! I love love love music and love this question!

That being said, before I begin I want you to know that I'm so sorry to burst a personal headcanon you've made about my version of Erwin Pries...but he has probably never heard a Lana Del Rey song in his entire life lmfao (I'm assuming that's who you're talking about). But Erwin is an EA premade, so if your Erwin is a Lana Del Rey stan I love that for you and that's valid!!! My Erwin just isn't haha (but his sister Maggie would like her music!) Anyway!!!

Very long response below the cut! ↓

Erwin mostly listens to older music: he loves music from the 60s, 70s, and 80s and listens to everything on vinyl or cassette (he is very passionate about the preservation of physical media, he is the Paranoid ass king after all). His favorites are Fleetwood Mac, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Queen, David Bowie, Abba, Neil Diamond, Jim Croce, Billy Joel, John Denver, James Taylor, Elton John, The Mamas and Papas, Johnny Cash, and so on. He also has a not-so-secret love for musicals and claims that the Jesus Christ Superstar soundtrack is one of the best pieces of composition to ever exist (he also likes Godspell, Rent, Xanadu, and many more) Get him drunk enough and he will talk about how Mamma Mia is "Literally a transcendent work of art with whimsy and heartbreak and joy and a tender ass storyline at the heart that quite literally fucks so hard. Fucking Meryl Streep. Fuck!" Direct quote. That man hardly listens to anything post-1990, with the exception of "Queen Florence Welch" (Florence and the Machine).

Zoe appreciates all kinds of music, but has a deep love for the soul music that she heard around the house growing up. She likes music with feeling and depth, and the lyrics are most important to her but if the song isn't deep, it better have a good beat that she can dance to! Her personal favorite artists include Otis Reading, Stevie Wonder, Sam Cooke, Dionne Warwick, Beyoncé, Alicia Keys, Rhianna, Lauryn Hill, The Temptations, Roberta Flack, Janelle Monáe, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, and so on!

Beckett's looks deceive him because he loves pop music. He is listening to the current hits, think Billboard 100s exclusively lol. He might have listened to a few rock or rap songs to get "pumped up" back in his football days, but for the most part he is always listening to pop - he even likes boybands, but won't willingly admit that lmao. He's a Swiftie through and through, and he will fight for her honor on any Twitter thread or in-person discussion. He also has a love for 90s and early 2000s country artists like Shania Twain, Alison Krauss, Lee Ann Womack, and The Dixie Chicks (now The Chicks) because of cleanin' and cookin' Sundays with his momma <3

Junia doesn't care about music that much! She doesn't have any favorite artists, she's never even bought a CD and probably couldn't tell you 5 bands or artists off the top of her head. She's one of those people who will listen to anything that "has a good beat" while she's working out, and it doesn't even have to have words. She's listening to music more for background noise as opposed to being passionate about it or seeking it out.

Anwar listens to alternative music mostly! Bands like the 1975, The Strokes, Paramore, The Clash, Fall Out Boy, Arctic Monkeys, The Black Keys, The Neighborhood, and so on. He definitely went through a pop-punk, Hot Topic, combo of emo and scene phase in his teen years in the 2000s. (Iykyk, if you don't... look it up lmao. It was a time to be alive.) If they could play at Warped Tour, he listens to them lmao. But he's cool with most pop or radio music, he's not like a music snob or anything.

Tashia listens to pretty much everything, but she also loves metal music. Idk if you've seen the Pixar/Disney movie "Monster's University" but there's a scene in there where the mom of one of the main characters drops them off at Monsters Inc. and she's like "I'll just be listening to my tunes until you get back" in like the sweetest voice and then as she's rolling up the windows you can hear metal music blasting through the speakers and she's just like... calmly vibing like she's listening to elevator music or smooth jazz lmfao. It's very funny. That's how I imagine Tashia's music taste to be and it concerns everyone around her <3

Junia Cahill Mood Board

If a dark cloud looms over the Cahill family, Junia is the one caught in the eye of the storm.

She categorizes her life in two stages: the life she had before her mom died, and the life she had after her mom died. She couldn't tell you if the "before" stage was really as "perfect" as she recalls it being or if she's just romanticizing that time due to the years of loss eroding any of the negatives away... but she does know things were easier in the before, and everyone was happier. For one thing, she didn't have to navigate a disability in the before. She also could just be a happy child who dreamed of being an artist and not a jaded teenager obsessed with physical fitness - always thinking about protecting, about fighting, about being present enough to save the day so no one she loved would ever be hurt on her watch again. And while her dad has always tried his best, sometimes that meant being hands off and allowing her grandparents to take the lead...so losing one parent sometimes felt like losing two. But that was okay - she handled it and she's fine. She's always fine.

I woke up this morning to more asks than I have ever gotten in one sitting, and it was such a cool surprise so thank you guys!!! This was literally so much fun! All asks & answers are below the cut because I didn’t want to spam the dashboard with my long responses haha.

@mangosimoothie these are all some great questions and thank you for that!!

5. Do they have any tattoos? If so what are they and do they have any special meaning?

Zoe doesn’t have any tattoos yet, but she has always wanted one! She just doesn’t know what she’d get and would be like “It’s got to be perfect if it’s going to be on my body forever!” But Erwin has one very minimalist medium-sized sunset tattoo on his right shoulder blade (kind of like this). He got it on his 18th birthday, it was something he and his sister always wanted to get together!

7. Do they have any unusual fears?

I wouldn’t say they’re unusual fears, but Erwin is very scared of small spaces and Zoe is scared of geese because of a bad run-in she had with a goose on the Kindergarten playground lol.

11. Do they have any addictions?

Zoe doesn’t have any addictions! She’s a meticulous person who is very health-conscious and her mom was a great example who showed her how to set healthy boundaries and limits. Erwin on the other hand is a different story! Erwin smokes cigarettes (something he picked up from his older sister Maggie, it really started as a way to feel closer to her after she went missing and has turned into a stress coping mechanism). Plus, he has an unhealthy dependence on caffeine. The man has been known to go through a pot of coffee all on his own, he doesn’t even care about taste. He’s poured energy drinks in coffee before (gross, I know). He just... doesn’t sleep well.

Even though it was definitely a challenge to choose between my pixel children, I think the Top 5 sims I’ve made are:

The whole Carter family, but especially Caleb. He is truly cathartic for me to play and write.

My version of Alexander Goth (really he’s my son, EA can take Alexander Goth from my cold dead hands, they have never done that boy justice!!)

All my Strangerville sims, but Tashia and Junia would be tied for third because I have no other sims like them. They challenge me!

Sha West (I’ll be posting her later, she is from one of my private saves where I’m doing the globetrotter challenge for fun and I loveeee her).

Rin and Lazlo Fite (twins so they count as one lmao. They were originally just submissions for another simblr, but I fell in love with them and their backstory!)

This was even harder!! I follow a LOT of simblrs. But my current top 5 sims from other simblrs are:

The entirety of Gen 3 (Asa, Finn, Casper, Stevie, Elaine, Jada) from Frozen Pines by @softpine. I cannot pick between these babies, they all have my heart equally.

The entire Halabi family, but especially Gus (and Lena) by @sojutrait

2. Do they wear perfume/cologne? If so what scents do they prefer?

Erwin doesn’t wear a cologne really unless he’s going out! But Erwin always smells fresh - like a light, clean ivory soap smell mixed with his laundry detergent and a warm mix of light bergamot, jasmine and lemon. Fresh and pleasantly light is literally the only way I can think to describe it ajajksdjkasjgs sorry hope that makes sense! Although he does smoke cigarettes, he never smells overwhelmingly like smoke (it’s just barely present!).

Erwin is stubborn and kind of a loner, he would probably patch himself up in most circumstance. But he’d have to have a deep bond with someone to let them see him in pain/vulnerable like that!

16. Do they have or want kids?

He does not have kids! As for wanting kids, he’d say no. But really he just doesn’t think he’ll ever have the opportunity to have kids. He doesn’t dislike the idea at all, but definitely isn’t in a place for kids right now! In the future though? He’d be lying if he said he hadn’t thought about that...

29. If they were real would you be friends with them?

Hmmmmm I can’t say for sure. Current Erwin? Probably not, we live very different lives! But future Erwin and I would probably get along very well!

It is not easy to gain Junia’s trust in any way lmao. Friend, romantic partner, work associate... doesn’t matter to her. She keeps things pretty distant and professional across the board. But if you break through? Dear God, she will love you and protect you fiercely.

Erwin likes to take polaroid photos just for personal enjoyment! I wouldn’t say he scrapbooks, but he likes to do a *version* of that by journaling with polaroids...so scrapbooking without the stickers and fun paper lol. He also runs a podcast about spooky stuff like unsolved mysteries, paranormal stories, and conspiracy theories!

12. Do they have any sense of style? Regardless of the answer do they believe they have a sense of style?

He absolutely has a very quirky sense of style, although he would say he just likes to wear stuff that he likes and isn’t intentionally curating a look. His style is vintage casual with an alternative touch - quirky patters, ripped loose jeans, lots of 70s-80s dad tees you’d find in a Goodwill.

33. Do they play ttrpgs? If so what kind of characters do they play? Or are they more likely to GM?

Yes! He hasn’t played since high school, but he loves Dungeons and Dragons. He typically plays as an elf wizard! He would love to be a DM/GM, but he’s never had the time to come up with and execute a campaign of his own creation.

3. Do they enjoy cooking?

YES! He loves cooking with his mom and his abuela! Cooking is a love language to him, and it’s a way he connects to his culture too. He’s the kind of person that is always offering food and to his friends and loved ones and sees it as a basic act of service - “We’re hanging out at my house, so I should give you a snack - just makes sense!”

4. Do they enjoy baking?

Not as much as cooking, but he does enjoy baking if it’s with Cheryl!

He loves lots of different games, but he would not call himself a #gamer lol. He doesn’t take games so seriously! His sister is much more competitive that him!

She collects snow globes! Whenever she and her mom would go on vacation, she’d get a snow globe from that location as a souvenir.

9. When they're sick what do they do to feel better?

She is very productive, so she just doesn’t have time to lay around sick. She takes healing very serious - strict regiment of herbal teas, vitamin C supplements, rest, vapor rub (still using the same big pot of Vicks that probably is from the 90s), humidifier, soups, keeps a notepad with her medication rotation schedule...the works!

10. Do they have any regrets?

Nope!

She isn’t fluent in any languages outside of English. She only remembers a few words/phrases from high school French. She also would recognize a few words or phrases in Arabic from knowing Anwar and his family for so long.

Yes, she operates very efficiently under stress (and grief). She needs people to remind her that it’s okay to slow down and just... feel.

44. Who, if anyone, would they trust with their deepest secrets?

Anwar! He’s her closest friend since childhood and she’d trust him with her life. Eventually you guys will see her open up to more than just him though <3

Plan in advance always. Just thinking of “winging it” makes her skin break out in hives lmao
