i only found out recently that roxygen was a pun on oxygen

thinking just a little bit about egbert in the game over timeline and choices. about them being left alive with terezi and roxy. with the girl theyve had a complicated history with including a shared sort of ex, who forced them to face the reality of the situation and demanded that they take action to fix it, who completely drove the efforts to bring their friends back to life. with this new girl, who just wanted to sit and wait to die in their doomed timeline, who is the alternate self of egbert's dad's lover, who represents the life egbert always thought they would have as a kid, who doesnt force them to examine anything. how the retcon was impossible without terezi but that version of her didnt survive to see it, and egbert made no effort to change that. how egbert brought roxy with them to the world they made with terezi instead. how the conversation egbert has w karkat about their caliginous feelings for terezi was SUCH an absurdity for them, there's nooo wayyyy they could ever feel anything like that for terezi; they like roxy, obviously. safe roxy. normal roxy. roxy with no expectations. nice roxy. bc if theres one thing egbert knows about terezi, its that she doesnt let you lie to her. she always finds out the truth. and in this imagined world, this fake happy ending that egbert and the real terezi poured their blood into making, so that egbert could have their normal life, so that the game would finally be OVER..... terezi still isnt happy. and on some level, that bothers egbert.
