It’s official now that “Cobra Kai” is going to end with it’s upcoming 6th season. While I’m sad this was expected as the writers and cast for years talked about when they pitched the show it was for 6 seasons so they are sticking to the original plan. Though I can’t help but wonder that Sony rebooting the “Karate Kid” movie did play a factor to end the show as Sony confirmed it won’t be connected to the show or original films but is another reboot. The timing too means this show will end before the movie is out. That also brings up then if Netflix and the “Cobra Kai” writers will be able to do the spinoffs they wanted, which they hinted at again today in their statement, as if Sony gets the full rights back on the movie side they might not let them. We’ll see what happens but I’m glad they’re going to be able to give it a proper final season and hopefully Julie/Hilary will be able to show up before it ends.

Amanda gave Julie reports. Things that Daniel was dealing with. Hearing that Daniel got back into karate and trying to find some balance in his life. That’s great. An all-out war with a rival karate dojo, which apparently started out from a teenage grudge? Nearly all of his karate rivals coming out of the woodwork after thirty years. His business taking a hit. Rigged tournaments. Getting his ass kicked badly.
Daniel asks why she didn’t help.
“We were taught not to be there when they want to fight. You didn’t ask me, dumbass, even if I was closer than Chozen.”

“And then he says, ‘Detroit!’” Daniel smiles as Julie laughs. They lounge on his couch, wine in hand, Daniel’s mourning suit jacket and Julie’s black heels gone.
“I love that!” Julie says. “He had the best sense of humor. I’m going to miss his laugh.” Her eyes well up. “I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay,” Daniel says, his eyes also wet. “He was the best friend I ever had.”
“Mine, too.” Julie raises her glass. “To Mr. Miyagi.”
“To Mr. Miyagi.” They drink deeply.
“Did you know,” Julie begins, “he once caught an arrow with his bare hands?”
