Request: omg I love your writing and i dont know others who write abt Tom and Julian and I love it sm!!! could you do a sort of enemies to lovers with Draco where the reader is Gryffindor? its ok if u dont want to, keep up with the good work It’s amazing ! 🥰🥰

Your friend rushes in the classroom, crossing the icy glance of Professor Snape. “You’re late…” He says in his usual scary monotone voice. “Y…yes… I-…I’m sorry Mr Snape.” She mumbles as she states of the ground, completely terrified. She jumps slightly when she hears giggles coming from the back of the classroom. Hearing them too, you turn around to see who they were coming from. ‘Of course, Malfoy.’ You thought to yourself when you see him laughing with his friends. “I-I’m…s-so…sorry !” The blondie giggles after imitating her. You roll your eyes as you turn back to look at your comrade.

“I remove 10 points for Hufflepuff, now, go take a sit.” Said the professor. F/N don’t lose a second to join the place beside you. “Where were you ?” You ask as she sat down. “I had to go back to my dorm, I forgot my wand !” She shouted in panic. “One day you’ll forget your head there !” You tease before giggling under her confused gaze. It was a usual thing for F/N to forget her stuff in her dorm, but usually she manages to be in time. “Wow F/L/N lost points ! She should be careful to not turn into a real Slytherin !” A voice says from behind you right before a more unbearable one opens up. “Come on Blaise ! You know we won’t let a bloody Hufflepuff here ! And a mudblood on top of that.” You turn in less than a quarter of seconds as soon as you hear Malfoy insult your friend. “Shut up Malfoy !”

A devilish smile appears on Draco’s face, having the reaction he wanted. “Oh look Blaise, F/L/N got herself a bodyguard.” Your jaw clenches as you plant your gaze into his. “What exactly didn’t you understand in ‘Shut up’ Malfoy ? I knew you were an idiot but at this point ?” It was Draco’s turn to clench his jaw, you could see the bone of it in his cheek, making him overly sexy and hateful. But he didn’t answer. “That’s what I thought.” You whispered before turning back to listen to the lesson. “Thank you Y/N...” You friend murmurs as she smiles at you. “It’s a pleasure to be your bodyguard F/N !” You wink at her.

You were about to come out of the classroom but the professor’s voice stops you. “Miss Y/L/N, may I talk to you please ?” You turn around, shrugging your shoulders in front of Hermione and Ron who were waiting in the corridor. “Yes, of course professor !” You say as you step back to walk towards his desk. Snape slowly put an eye on you, seeing the little apprehension on your face. “I saw your grades in my class are going down...can you explain yourself ?” He asked in his monotonous voice. “Hum...yes ! I-I don’t really understand anything lately...” You say honestly but suddenly regrets when you see his disappointed face. “Would you like some help ?” He proposes.

“Yes ! With pleasure actually !” You shouted in excitement, it was true, your grades were getting bad even with all the explaining of Hermione you couldn’t understand anything in your potion book. “Fine, I’ll pair you with my best student.” You simply nod, waiting for him to tell you who it is, but he doesn’t say anything. “You’ll meet him in the library tonight. You can go now.” You frown slightly at what he says, why won’t he tell who is going to help you, but you're way to scared of your professor to say anything more than: “Okay, have a good day professor !”

You then finally come out to join your friends. Ron greets you with a big smile while his girlfriend looks worried. “What did he want ?” She asks. “He proposed some help for my grades.” You simply explain as you start to make your way into the Gryffindor’s common room. “He asked someone to do it, I’ll meet him tonight at the library.” You finished, followed by your two best-friends. “Alright, let’s meet Harry, he’s waiting for us.” Ron said. Before you could say anything or react to what he said, Someone bumps into you in the middle of the corridor, making you drop your books all over the floor. Without even apologising, the person walks away as if nothing happened. You raise your head to see who was responsible for your problems. You see red as soon as you see Malfoy giggling in your face before turn around and walk away, of course, it could only be him.

The blondie was making you go through hell for years now, since your first year he loved to bully you and all the other students in Hogwarts. But he was always more virulent with you. You explained it to yourself by the fact that you were friends with the Golden Trio but nothing could forgive that attitude. For a second you thought of leaning to pick up your stuff and say nothing, but it would be a betrayal to the colour of your tie. So you took all your courage and shouted. “Hey Malfoy ! Didn't your family gave you a good education !” You screamed across the corridor. He suddenly stops in his walk and turn towards you.

You can see the anger in his eyes which satisfy you for a second. He starts walking back towards you, the features of his face are almost frighteningly hard, “is he going to hurt me? Have I gone too far ?

Oh, please Y/N ! Don't shirk for this poor bastard.” You thought to yourself before opening your mouth again.

"A gentleman would take the time to apologize, help the girl he has just pushed and pick up her things, but apparently it's not very common in the Malfoy family !” You shouted through the corridor while Malfoy reduce the distance between us until he stops a few centimetres away. “Don't you dare talk about my education !” He says out of anger, you frown. “Or what ?” You tease. “Don't get on my nerves Y/L/N." You can’t help but let a little smile appear on your face, as sadistic as that may be, you loved to make him crazy.

“Or what ?” You take a step towards him, an air of defiance in your eyes, while you take a slightly lower voice.

“I said shut up you stupid bitch !” He almost screams in your face. Ron was about to do something when he heard him insult you but Hermione stops him before he could do anything.

You ignore the Slytherin’s insult, lean your head slightly to the side and move a bit more towards him, reducing the distance between you more and more.

« Make me » You said followed by a provocative smile. You stare at him straight in the eyes, but you noticed that he didn't do the same, his gaze was directly on your lips, which made you take a little step back with a frown. “What is happening to him ?” You thought to yourself.

He starts to smile before turning around again and leaving for good this time, by shoving the other students who had gathered around you to see your little argument. You don't really know why everyone is always surprised, it's not like it's the first time you've had a fight in the hallway.

“Yeah, run away bastard !” Ron growled behind you, your turn around to look at your friends. They seem to not understand the situation either, Hermione still has her arm before Ron to provide him from jumping on Malfoy. “It’s okay Ron.” You whispered to the ginger head. “No it’s not ! You let him insult you Y/N ! He deserves a beating from me !” You see Ronald clenches his jaw. “You’re not going to do anything Ronald Weasley !” Hermione shouted to calm him down by her deadly eyes. “Let’s go now !” She leans to the floor to pick up your books, you quickly follow the movement. “We shouldn’t explain what happened to Harry, he’s gonna mad way too mad.” She whispered while I pick up the last book and give it to you.

“Yes, Malfoy would be dead by now if he was here.” Ron added as you and your friend straighten up. “As much as I hate Malfoy, I don’t want to be responsible for his death.” You said in a giggle before you start walking into the corridors to reach the Gryffindor’s common room like you were supposed to in the first place.

By chance, your friends haven’t seen Draco look at your lips, or they haven’t talked to you about it yet. After a few minutes, you finally enter the room after saying the password. You three jumps when you face Harry, hand in is hips. “May I know why when I left you for a single day because I’m sick, I hear about your fight with Malfoy ?” He asked you directly, it was a miss to not tell him anything. Of course, you and Draco became the attraction of the day and everyone was talking about it. “I-...”

“What happened ?” He asked again. “He pushed her in the corridor, and she found it clever to point this out to him” Ron explained, making you and Hermione gasp. “Hum, what happened to ‘we don’t say anything to Harry ?” Hermione shouted in shock. “You wanted to lie to me !” Potter screamed, even more in shock. “We didn't want to lie, we just wanted to omit some informations.” You said, like it was normal. “Which informations ?” He asked. Ron responded. “He called her a bitch.” Hermione gasp again before hitting him with her book. “Ronald !” She screamed. “‘Mione, he already knows what’s the point of not telling him ?” She sighs and rolls her eyes. She was about to say something but Harry cut her off.

“He did what ?” You three don’t make a move. “This one will see what I’m made of !” Harry shouted before walking fast to get out of the room but Hermione stops him first. “No Harry ! Don’t give him what he wants !” She screamed him, blocking his way. “He insulted my sister, and you think he should get away with it !” ‘My sister’ you weren’t his real sister, but you would definitely like one to him. You could see the amount of anger in his face, looking straight into Hermione eyes, for a second she thought he could hurt her just to get out of there. “I kind of had it coming Harry.” She said, out of shame, but it was true. You pointed out to him, then you teased him until he was so angry that he insulted you. Harry turn around to look at you, confused.

“He warned me but a still responded to him.” You explain. “Why ?” He asked as he pulls away from Hermione. “Why ? You should know by now that I’m not the type to let people get away when they’re being complete assholes !” You giggle nervously. “Well, you don’t want to do this with Malfoy.” He answered as he walks slowly towards you. You roll your eyes, it was always the same conversation. “Harry listen, I understand you’re worried about me, but I can protect myself, especially against Malfoy. I mean, you act like he’s gonna Avada Kedrava me, but he’s a coward he’s not going to do anything !” You explain, a bit irritated. Harry and the other told you a thousand time already to be careful of him but as long as you’ve been in this school, the only thing the blond guy did was bully the other, it’s not like he got physical or anything. And you were far from being scared of him. “On that note, I have to leave.” You said as you look at the clock on the common’s room wall.

“Where are you going ?” Harry asked, but you leave before answering, Ron and Hermione do it at your place. You sigh as you walk through the corridors again, choosing to wait for your lesson in the library instead of supporting Harry’s comments. Once you reach the place of rendezvous you walk through the bookshelves to find a book to read. After a few minutes you finally find one and sit on a table, all you need to do is wait now.

“Y/L/N ! We keep seeing each other today !” You sigh when you hear his voice, you don’t even take the time to look at him and keep your eyes on the book you were casually reading before he interrupted you. “What are you doing here Mafloy.” You asked, annoyed. “Well, Professor Snape told me to meet someone here. Have you seen anyone ?” He asks innocently. “No so-“ you start, but then you realize what he just said. You rapidly turn your head to look at him. He frowns, confused by your reaction. “Professor Snape you said ?” Draco nods in response, finding you weird all of a sudden. “No bloody way...” He finally starts to understand. “Don’t tell me you’re the one I have to help !” He shouted, a grimace appearing on his face. “Yes...” you whispered. Draco’s face collapse, so do yours.

“I’m not doing this.” He said angrily before he turns and walks towards the door. For a second you thought of just letting him go, but you decide otherwise. You quickly get up, leaving all of your things behind you and run to keep him from leaving the library. “Malfoy wait !” You can hear him sigh as he continues walking away from you but you run to put yourself before the door, preventing him from going out. “Get off Y/L/N.” You take a deep breath and take all your courage to confront Draco. “No. Listen, I need your help. I’ve failing all of my tests for the potion class and if Snape sent you it’s probably because you’re the only one that can help me !”

Draco giggles as he listens to you. “Why would I help you ?” You take a second to think and a dispute. “Because Snape will be mad if you don’t ?” He rolls his eyes, visibly not convinced by this. “Please...can we put or different for a second, just enough time for you to explain the lesson, and then I’ll leave you alone I promise !” A little smile appears on his face, what is happening to him again ? He takes a step towards you while you take one in the opposite direction. You jump when your back hit the cold wood of the door behind you. “What ?” You asked, confused by what’s going on.

“You look good when you’re begging.” He said in a provocative way. You gasp in shock in front of this flirty line coupled with a devouring look. “Draco !” You growl. “Malfoy !” He growls back, his devouring smile turning into an angry face in less than a second. “We’re not friends, so it’s Malfoy for you !” Your eyes winded in front of his sudden anger for such a little detail. You simply nod still in shock. “So...Malfoy, are you going to help me ?” You try to smile to him, like it could save you. He sighs. “Yes.”

He simply said before turning back to go sit where you were installed a few seconds ago. You take a deep breath as you join him, knowing it’s probably going to be a long moment to pass with him.

“Okay, what are the ingredients ?” He asked. “Um... Rose thorn, peppermint, pearl dust...powered moonstone and...” You think for a second, not being able to put a name on the last ingredient. “Ashwinder egg” He finished. “I knew it !” You shouted, obviously lying. “No you didn’t.” He said in amusement. You giggle together. So far the little study session with Draco was going well. As crazy as it seems, he has been really patient with you. And his explanation were really clear. You yawn as you pull the fabric from your robe to look at your watch. “Wow ! It’s late ! We should probably go to our dorm.” Draco does the same and his eyes widen when he sees the clock. It’s been 3 hours since you started studying, and it felt like at least 1 hour, not more. “Yes we should.” He simply responds before packing up his supplies. You follow his movement and when nothing is left on the table you finally get up with him.

“Shall I take you to your dorm ?” He asks as he scratches the back of his head. Your eyes widen, since when Draco is that kind. For a moment you thought of accepting, but it was a bad idea, if Harry was still there he would’ve killed him. “Maybe next time, Harry heard about what happened in the corridor this afternoon, and I don’t really want him to kill you if he sees you.” Draco nods, suddenly feeling bad for what happened earlier. “Maybe next time ?” You propose. “I mean, if you want you study with me again ?” You continue carefully, you were happy to have a nice version of Draco in front of you and you didn’t want to say something that could make him angry and lose that little moment of respite. “Yes ! Why not ! Let’s say, tomorrow night ?” He proposes, never stopping to impress you. “Alright ! See you tomorrow then !”

You smile to him and take the way toward the door to leave but his voice stops you. “Y/N wait !” Hearing your name in his mouth make a bunch of goosebumps appear on your skin which you don’t really understand. It was the first time Draco called you by your name other than your last-name. You turn around and give him a confused look. “I’m sorry for what I said in the hallway...” You bite your lip. Were you dreaming ? “Wow...Draco Malfoy apologising...to me ? I should mark the date !” You tease. “Hey ! Don’t make me regret it !” You giggle. “Don’t worry ! And thank you...Draco.” You grimace internally when you pronounces his name. But he doesn’t say anything, he just smiles to you. You smile too when you turn around again and finally get out of the library.

The smile didn’t suit your face until you reach your bed. Today was a surprising day, but it’s only the beginning.

!!!! i'm just gonna do the main 6 bc if i was to do all the side characters we'd be here for so long omg

julian: genuinely one of my favorite characters, as much as i like to meme on him both he and his story mean a lot to me, and if i think too long about him i feel like i have to lay down omg. him and the apprentice meeting with the star will always be a moment that sticks with me tbh.......... i relate to him a bit too much for comfort but it also helped put my own bullshit into perspective to hear it from. someone else. yes he's a cluster of pixels but. i digress ;;;;;;;; i think julian, of the main 3, is the best starter route for new players

asra: absolutely one of the most romantic stories i have ever seen. genuinely had No Clue how i was going to feel abt asra which feels like. par for the course bc of how mysterious he was. and i knew i was going to like his route, but i didn't expect to love it as much as i did :') i will admit, first time playing his route basically up until the lazaret i was almost kinda....... unsettled by how much asra knew that he didn't let on to the apprentice, but once i did "shadow of the past" everything clicked into place. asra will always break my heart bc yeah he's super charming and i adore him, there is just so much tragedy about him.............................. he dug until his fingers bled </3 ALSO HIS PARENTS again. something that would take way too much emotional vulnerability to unpack Why that fucked me up so bad omg. best masquerade outfit <3

nadia: NADIA............ tbh i'm a sucker for royalty/courtly romance in fantasy and i was very intrigued by nadia from the moment we met her in the shop, and i have always been so fascinated by her so i'm so excited to finally be playing her route and i am not disappointed at all. i love how, at her heart, she is kind and genuine and wants to see vesuvia improve, but her loneliness kills me like she has been so used to either operating on her own or just Not Remembering her friends that like. :) that's me screaming with my mouth shut, and i'm loving the courtly intrigue of her route and a lot of the teasing between nadia and the apprentice really feels very on par for noble romances and like. i think nadia is so well-rounded and fleshed out and truly a wonderful character. i hate her masquerade look though

portia: my hottest take is that it took me a while to actually be interested in portia like akjsdjksdk okay not that i didn't Like her, and i always thought she was fun!!! but up until recently i was kinda neutral abt whether or not i wanted to do her route, but now i am like very excited to do her route and i think she's gonna be who i romance after nadia. ironically enough, for as much as i talk abt the devorak siblings and how much i love their dynamic, i Really started to like portia once i saw her kinda "operating on her own volition" (for lack of a better statement) instead of being heavily immersed in her brother's. impending death. also i am once again saying that portia should become a pirate queen and portia/nadia is delicious

muriel: okay like. i get muriel's appeal and why a lot of people like him. i think he's interesting! but just like....... silent and stoic characters are so not my character type that, if i'm being quite honest, what gets me interested in muriel is seeing how he is with the other characters (like asra and nadia, for example) other than like......... being interested in him as his own character. which isn't to say that i don't like him!! but just his archetype has never been in my wheelhouse. i will still romance him eventually though

lucio: simultaneously the most ridiculous character i have ever seen and a terrifying villain. like his casual cruelness really does balance out his eccentricities. literally banging my head against the wall trying to figure out what the fuck actually happened to him. i think his route will be really fucking fun if i manage to not reach into the game and strangle him on sight bc every time i think abt what he did to julian and asra (and that's not even knowing what he did to the others yet) i have to restrain myself from bursting into flames.

ok so im trying to avoid having emotions about the shitshow that is the local elections so i dont yknow breakdown and ive been meaning to make a post for ages abt muriel’s route i have so many thoughts. obvious spoilers ahead not that i have more than like 2 followers who play arcana game

firstly....i was kinda underwhelmed with the second half/ending of his route. disclaimer i haven’t replayed it and haven’t got the reversed ending, only upright, and my memory sucks and i played it a while ago. SO, things that I....don’t understand:

1. SUCH a massive deal is made out of muriel (and MC) having to learn to fight, the plot literally hinges on it, only for it to swing off the plot all together into oblivion and for the final showdown to be....a series of literal games.* And I wouldn’t disagree with this as an ending tbh!!!! I think it’s fucking great actually -- a non-violent resolution to further signify Muriel’s journey from violence and isolation to peace and fun and family, and tbh sort of a massive fuck you to lucio; LITERALLY RETURNING to the coliseum only to BEAT Lucio WITHOUT returning to the violence that lucio forced on him, turning it into a place of actual joy. Like fuck!! BUT with the whole first part it just doesn’t fucking fit lmao? Muriel could have faced his demons in the beginning without learning to fight at all, he still could have had that journey. Morga could have just traveled with them right? Or even better he could have refused to fight and then the ending would have been even better. We could have had a moment of Morga acknowledging their strength??? Acknowledging their non-violent victory WITH PRIDE??? Bringing her to reflect on her choices as a mother and a leader??? Devs why couldn’t we have had that :( I may be remembering wrong but the apparent necessity of Morga teaching them to fight is the biggest source of tension for at least a book. It’s the reason for his first kiss with the MC! Also yeah speaking of tension with Morga

2. SUCH a big deal is made out of morga becoming/reflecting as (?) a mother figure to muriel (which in itself is a very bold way to go story-wise)....only for her to be killed off. Again, I don’t disagree with this decision, I like her but story-wise it could fit. But I can’t help feel like it was really premature. This is something I feel all routes suffer from, and perhaps I am expecting too much from a game that can be played for free very easily, but every single route has pacing problems, none more than Muriel’s imo. Considering the maternal aspect of Morga (for both her and Muriel!) is sooooo fucking loaded and intense like, you cannot drop that and then kill her and not really mention her for the rest of the story. Her “ghost” made an appearance sometime later and a few sentences were said and that was it. Her and Muriel’s past was so brushed over and idk clearly they didn’t have the time or money or whatever to develop it which is a real shame. Their journeys could have run parallel or gone in opposite directions literally anything but Morga dying in a moment of weakness from a cheap trick by lucio :/ bc YEAH like that was not actually weakness but certainly what morga considers weakness!!! that mistake could have split her away from muriel+MC entirely OR brought them closer together. she could have been disgusted with herself and decided once and for all to let go of lucio as a son and go her own way to destroy him, or she could have woken up to what she can do differently now and work with Muriel and co and let go of lucio that way. idk man it was just a waste

Right then....onto the romance. or. lack of :( this is completely subjective, I know some people were v happy with it but like, this could not have been a drier route and im so fucking sad about it. There were definitely some sweet moments, but that was sort of it for me. I get what they were going for, but it’s personally sad to me that Muriel’s contentedness seems to have come at the expense of sensual intimacy/tension. like there was just absolutely no spice whatsoever. I saw someone describe the MC relationship as basically platonic and...yeah. Very little intimacy that wasn’t like, cuddling or holding hands, which since there wasn’t much to build on anyway just came across as nice but unexciting. It felt like it became too easy and too normal too quickly? Naturally touch was such a precious and important thing in the beginning as Muriel was learning to trust, but that just did not get explored imo. The first kiss wasn’t...the worst, but it was sort of OOC to me. They could have got so deep with that first kiss -- the opportunity, the trust, the choice. “Happy accident” scenarios can be great and definitely could have worked for his story, but for the first kiss i was like oh ok we’re here now?? and..muriel’s ok with that considering we were just uhh sobbing about his forced servitude and violence?? idk how i haven’t mentioned it yet but the way the tone was all over the fucking shop in that book gave me serious whiplash. Anyway it’s so disappointing bc c’monnnnn this whole relationship is brand new to BOTH mc and muriel. At the start every touch is a small turning point and i think they did that so well, you feel excited at the development and where it will go, but then it’s like “ok well we’re together now so everything is easy and breezy”. you can create emotional tension (the good kind) through touch EVEN if they’re both ace. which the MC is not bc its the self insert character so. yeah. i feel like im probably being a bit harsh in retrospect but this is what has stuck with me.

This leads me to Muriel himself, and what to me was the biggest opportunity to do blow everyone’s minds bc he was SUCH a mystery before his route. Dark and brooding but shy and caring, anti-social through anxiety and fear but lonely, his reluctant but consistent support of Asra and his friends. And that was all teased in the beginning! ....and then completely fell flat. Similar to my first point: they had some deep emotional development going, Muriel literally coming face to face with the past he never knew, and the past he wishes he could forget, learning to actually be around people, learning to trust people (and ngl i fucking loved the beginning stages with MC so much), and overcoming his anxiety and pessimism. He and MC literally travel together alone for weeks. WEEKS! And much of that is skipped by. We have big emotional scenes but not much in between. And then...and yknow im not sure where it changes...after khamgalai dies? (and dont get me started on that what the fuck was the point of THAT?) after MC goes to the arcane realms? I can’t remember but at some point it’s like...all tension is gone lmao. Including tension between MC and Muriel, and he becomes quite two dimensional. It was just rushed. Vesuvia is in ruins, Nadia and co chased out of the palace, Lucio taking control etc but like...it doesn’t feel like it matters? Im really not saying that his route has to be all doom and gloom at all but don’t MAKE it doom and gloom and then do a 180 yknow? I remember Julian’s route in particular being so fucking tense, even though I knew I got the upright ending, that dinner scene was...phew. (and i do get that naturally the first 3 routes are bound to be a more exciting experience bc i was less familiar w the game etc but still, there was just 0 tension).

im not even gonna talk about the MC’s past reveal bc i have issues with it in every route so whatever

so yeah i love muriel and i still like the arcana but it’s writing and pacing is just so inconsistent and it makes me sad. I will continue to fanon Muriel’s route to death.

*It’s occurred to me that the reversed ending may be more violent and actually fit with where the story seemed to be going in the start, but I stand by the opinion that it doesn’t matter because it still doesn’t make sense. I shouldn’t have to play the reverse ending to be like “oh ok that was the point of that” bc it should make sense and serve purpose in both endings, which i dont think it does.

#im absolutely not taggin this bc i dont want to be percieved by the devs lol #or muriel stans who love his route #these are just my onions #i really wanna replay asra's route tbh his was the best #i want that reversed CG so bad but dont wanna die for it #the arcana #this post is really long but it's 1:43am that's just how it is sometimes

Imagine this: You’re going over to Mazelinka’s house or smth and as you walk in, they’re just chatting away in their native language abt how Julian really like you. When they realize you’re there his face just goes beet red, Portia and Mazelinka laugh at him and welcome you in.

You speak that language too and you either respond to that conversation in that language (or English.) Julian is beet fucking red and Mazelinka and Portia are howling with laughter

Or you don’t know what they’re saying and tease Julian abt going beet red or whatever.

Julian is not subtle about being in love or falling in love at all. You catch him staring at you with adoration at least a dozen times a day.

He gives you the dumbest compliments too and as much as you roll your eyes, they just make you heart soar even more.

God, you know, you fucking know. That when y’all are traveling, if you comment on something beautiful he looks at you like ‘not as beautiful as you.’ You cannot tell me he would not say that.

He’s the kind of guy who’s always touching you in some way or another. Sitting down at the table eating? One hand is idly tracing patters onto your leg or the back of your hand? In bed not cuddling? His back is pressed to yours or he’s got a leg tangled against yours.

Even though he’s done it before, he’s not too terribly interested in diving too deep into his own magic. However, he’s very invested in yours, he’s always asking questions about it

Julian telling you ‘I love you’ in every language he knows as he’s pressing kisses to every piece of exposed flesh he can get to

Traveling together so he can learn medicinal techniques of other areas of the world and so that you can learn magic from other areas.

Y’all are interested in too different fields but you both just encourage each other to keep excelling in those fields and constantly strive to learn more.

Muriel

He falls in love in a very subtle way. He doesn’t want you to know and he tries his best to mask that so you don’t know.

Asra is the first one to know. I don’t think Muriel would say anything but Asra would ask him. His face would light up and he’d probably tell Asra to leave and Asra just laughs at him.

He slowly begins to accept your presence. The questioning of ‘why are you here?’ / ‘Leave.’ slowly begins to stop. Maybe you notice it, maybe you don’t, either way you don’t say anything.

Asra probably tries to push you together in one way or another. I think Muriel is the only one he wouldn’t be salty abt you being with because Muriel is the only one he’s really close with.

Muriel giving you things you whittled like ‘I thought you might like this.’ and that’s probably when you start to think ‘hm he either likes me or he likes me.’

He makes you little protection charms too.

Imagine you fall asleep by his fire place curled up with Inanna and his heart just fucking MELTS.

He doesn’t talk much, but imagine you’re just talking to him abt something and he starts asking questions abt it. And at first you’re kinda shocked he was even listening but then you’re just grinning and continuing on explaining smth.

You do most of the talking and he just watches you absolutely enamored.

Imagine holding your hand up to his and just whining about his hands being so much bigger than yours and instead of blushing or withdrawing or anything, he just laughs at you. Just hhh I love Muriel a lot.

He compliments you a lot, it’s just small things. Maybe they’re weird things to compliment you on like ‘hey you’re really good with the chickens’ but when he says things like that, you really value them.

ASRA

- Asra’s very protective of you, so it’s likely the chance to show off your badassery doesn’t come that often. He knows you quite well, he may even be aware of your fighting skills or physical strength, but he’s used a mixture of his reputation & favors to make sure you don’t get into any serious trouble

- However, there comes a day when you can’t avoid getting into a scuffle, & just as he’s abt to jump in to protect you, your opponent is already lying on the floor, just as shocked as he is 

- He’ll stand there open-mouthed, before snapping back to his senses & whisking you away from the crowd, & possible retaliation. Once you’re somewhere a little more secluded, he’ll pull you in close & laugh with a mixture of relief + awe

- “You’re incredible,” he’ll say, breathless, his eyes shining with pride & affection ♡✧( ु•⌄• ) Sometimes he forgets you can take care of yourself, & when he’s reminded it, you never fail to amaze him 

- Maybe the earlier tumble is starting to stir a commotion. Asra will take one glance at the growing crowd, then kiss you & pull you away, the two of you laughing as you run back to the safety of your shop

 NADIA

- Normally, Nadia puts herself in the role of protector when it comes to you. You’re so so gentle & soft, she would never let anything happen to you. Lbr it’s also nice leaving things to her & letting her take care of you

- But when she finds out her cute, shy s/o is a badass & can hold their own? She LOVES it. She is super impressed & absolutely delighted. She’ll be fawning all over you, complimenting you & telling you how wonderful you are 

- She’ll kiss your biceps, or run her hand over your muscles. Regardless how toned or fit you are, she’ll quietly tell you how strong & amazing she finds you, calling you some kind of endearment: “my warrior”, “my strong magician”, “my fearless champion” 

- She might also ask if you’d like to demonstrate your skills/strength more often, maybe with a little wrestling match or some sparring with Nadia herself *winkwink* Fair warning, those matches will get v v hot, in more ways than one (˵¯͒〰¯͒˵) 

- Nadia can protect herself fine, but after knowing you can too? She likes leaving the fights to you now, mostly bc she adores the look on your opponents’ faces when you take them down. Everyone underestimates you & their reaction to the usually sweet apprentice flipping them over? Priceless 

JULIAN

- Omg YES YES YES he would def be shook. He is a mother hen who insists on getting in fights himself, regardless how much you tell him you can helps as well. He’s the sort of dumbass who will get into all kinds of trouble while simultaneously making sure you stay well out of it

- Until the day he gets in wayyy over his head, and you have to step in. He opens his mouth, trying to get to his feet to stop you before a fist hits your face. To his surprise, you stop your opponent in their tracks & effortlessly pin them to a table 

- He is confused, shocked, and likely horny ⁄(⁄ ⁄•⁄-⁄•⁄ ⁄)⁄ Part of him wants to be in your opponent’s place. Once he regains his bearings, he rushes towards you, only to be swept up in how cool & badass you look while you ask him if he’s alright

- Did it suddenly get hot in here? His face flushes & he starts stammering incoherently, as you release your opponent & smoothly escort him away from the establishment

- He might reprimand you for getting into danger, but concede that you can take care of yourself. Afterwards, he’s def gonna want you to put that strength to good use in the bedroom, or anywhere else you might find yourself banging 

MURIEL

- Muriel generally avoids ppl, therefore avoiding conflicts in the process. But if the situation does call for it, he can be asked to get physical. Since he’s bigger & seems stronger, it just seems natural that the fighting would be left to him

- But if you take over & he sees you’re perfectly capable of defending yourself (and him!), he might actually breathe a sigh of relief. He doesn’t like fighting & only does it out of pure necessity. Knowing that you can take care of yourself is a burden off him

- It’ll take him some time getting used to it tho! He may feel like jumping in & doing it himself out of habit

- After a while, he’ll be able to hold back better, waiting on the sidelines in case you need backup or a bandage. He might nag you too while he’s patching you up tho. Don’t take his words to heart, he’s just a worrywart

- He might not admit it, but Muriel likes being protected. He feels safe & reassured, which are hard things to come by for him. Plus, he knows you’ll always be gentle w him ू(ʚ̴̶̷́ .̠ ʚ̴̶̷̥̀ ू)

 PORTIA

- Depending on your reputation, she may or may not be surprised to find out you’re a badass (she keeps her ear close to the ground after all!)

- If she has little to no clue, she will be stunned, possibly staring open-mouthed with shock, a slight blush creeping up her neck. Once she’s recovered, she’ll tease you abt what other things you’re keeping from her~

- If you feel like showing up in front of her, go ahead! She’ll ooh & aah at the appropriate moments, showering you w compliments. Just don’t get too carried away, there are limits to these sort of things

- Need a tag team buddy for a fight? She’s your girl. Portia is fierce & fairly strong to boot. Trust her & learn to coordinate both your movements, & you two will be Vesuvia’s best battle couple in no time!

- After wins, she’ll jump into your arms & yell abt how you two are the best o(≧∇≦o) After losses, she might be grouchy, but a hug & some comforting words do wonders. Patching each other up becomes a shared couple activity, & you two will joke over the injuries or highlights from the fight

- What’s certain is that after every fight, Portia will def want a drink, usually her treat. Nothing celebrates a win or comforts a loss like a pint of beer in her opinion

 LUCIO

- He’s always bragging abt how amazing & godlike he is on the battlefield, so sometimes he’ll pick fights for fun. Since he’s the count, more often than not, ppl will defer to him

- One time, someone does take him up on the challenge, much to his surprise. He’s slow to react, so you step in instead & defeat the challenger w/o much fuss. He’s speechless at first, but quickly reprimands you for stealing his spotlight & glory how dare you sir

- After he gets over his tantrum, he’ll still be sore abt the incident. He might actually make you promise to NEVER show him up like that again

- Later on, once he’s cooled down, he won’t stop bragging abt you to literally everyone you meet. When he introduces you at functions, he’ll be like “Have you met my adorable spouse? Cute, aren’t they? Don’t get too close, they can kick your ass across the room (•̀⌄•́)”

- Ofc he’ll also emphasize that you two are a ‘team’ & equals in terms of badassery, even if you’re not. Let him have it. He just wants some attention, & deep down, he really does want the two of you to be a team, to be equals. It’s just hard for him to admit it w his planet-sized ego

also no one asked (ok well someone asked me like a week ago on curiouscat but) but here are my hopes n dreams for the downton abbey movie:

1) it will never happen but i want a romance storyline for thomas lol, the whole shebang: meet cute, random misunderstandings/obstacles, obstacle(s) is/are overcome, happy ending and a motherfucking KISS, honestly we have edith/bertie, mary/matthew, mary/henry, carson/hughes, andy/daisy, isobel/merton, anna/bates, all following this pattern and i WANT IT. i know it’s different with a movie and he can’t get the episodes-long arcs those couples got, but they could pull smth off. i think if it happened to be jimmy or phillip that would be nice but obviously not gonna happen as neither ed or charlie are included in the cast lol, and also like i said since for a movie it would have to be a condensed plot it’s probably for the best it won’t be jimmy bec that storyline would deserve much more nuance, sensitivity, care, and explanation than the limited screentime available in a single film could give

2) not to be a bitch but i want michael gregson to be alive sdfhdsiukhsdfiusdfkdsf like can you IMAGINE, jesus it would be so frustrating but so satisfying bec of course that would happen to edith lmaoooooooo also i want marigold to meet him??? idk i adore edith and bertie but i really liked michael. like picture edith and bertie and marigold sitting in their drawing room in their castle having tea and there’s a fire and it’s cute and cozy and then their butler comes in like “there’s a man downstairs m’lady, insisting on seeing you” and edith going “let him in Jives” (or whatever the butlers name is) and she looks at bertie and says “i wonder what on earth this is about” and the door opens and it’s MICHAEL GREGSON and we see edith’s shocked face and then it cuts to like, violet and isobel arguing about violet’s cook’s views on sheep farming or something

3) can tom branson be happy jesus christ like, his entire storyline has always revolved around other ppl, he always felt like a side character in his own plots ?????????? and then he’s just a vehicle for mary’s happiness or robert’s success or downton’s issues for mary/robert/tom to solve, so rarely is it ever about HIM and HIS happiness, even with bunting that was about riling robert up so it was something for him and cora to argue about and so daisy could get an education. i just want him to get some attention i love one (1) irish socialist (bonus points if the movie opens with him burning the Abbey down while holding bundles of marxist literature)

4) mary and barrow’s relationship in the movie should mirror robert and carson’s relationship throughout the series.... likewise george and barrow should mirror mary and carson’s...... like. carson isn’t butler anymore. and carson was In Strum Mental in the running of that household, not an episode goes by without robert or cora or mary or someone talking to carson, and barrow is butler now, his role, literally, needs to be bigger, and his relationship with the upstairs crew should be more clearly defined and featured. u can’t change my mind. also he’s so fucking adorable with george and sybbie. slightly related: i want thomas to mention sybil, anna said herself he knew her better than any of the downstairs crew and esp bec he’s close with sybil’s daughter i want that MENTIONED. thomas being Soft and Fond ??? sign me tf up

5) i can’t stand carson or robert and if they both make it thru the movie alive ima be pissed. they function in the narrative as ties to the pre-wwi world and it’s past time one or both of those misogynist fuckwads are dispensed with. like any time one of them is onscreen i’m just Die Die Die Die DIe. i HATE

6) i really want scenes of george, sybbie, and marigold together. they are the next generation of crawleys and i want them to kind of be together, the 3 of them, as a group, the way edith, mary, and sybil were in the first season. we had The Crawley Sisters as a group, now it’s time for The Crawley Cousins. i want all 3 of them to have their own personalities and teasing of each other the way mary edith sybil did. i know they’re only children and the movie only takes place 2 yrs after the s6 finale so they’re still very young, but it’s enough to lay the groundwork and plant suggestions abt how the 3 of them’s relationship will be. it would be adorable and satisyfing

7) now u all know i adore thomas and i want him to be happy and i really am thrilled he’s developed and isn’t just the one-dimensional antagonist he was in season 1, i’m happy he’s allowed himself to become a bit softer and has a found family that he finally feels at home with. WITH THAT SAID........... there is next to no tension among the downstairs characters anymore. we need someone to come in, rustle some feathers, have hideous hair ringlets..... if you’ve guessed Sarah O’Brien u’ve guessed right. now listen i know she’s awful but i think it could be great. imagine her waltzing in and basically being like s1 thomas, just snarking at everything. i bet she’d be all saccharine and fake like “so thomas you’re butler now that’s sooooo nice!!! and look at the bates’ baby, i’m soooo happy for you!!!” and no one believes her and she’s just sneaking around causing trouble. she’d probably get into it w baxter bec she’s so soft and nice, but when obrien tries to fuck w molesley or thomas baxter becomes this image:

i can also imagine obrien being really nasty with andy and daisy bec they’re so young and cute and obrien.... isn’t, and barrow gets fed up and comes in like “SO SARAH, YOU DROPPED ANY SOAP LATELY?” and she goes pale and shuts up after that idfghdfiuhdyf

8) i want richard carlisle to come back bec iain glen is a fox. no other reason

9) i want madeleine allsopp to come back bec after the shannara chronicles i miss poppy drayton’s face on my screen. no other reason

10) omg i almost forgot, i want baby bates to be friendly with the upstairs children and i want baby bates to love thomas just like the other kids do, it would be great bec bates and thomas still hate each other but they would both love that kid and it would be super cute. i’ve also always loved thomas’ weird lil relationship w anna, like they’re not FRIENDS but i feel like there’s potential between the 2 of them to be friends. thomas noticed first when anna was bruised after her attack and asked what happened, anna noticed when thomas was sick during the conversion therapy s5 plotline and kept asking him if he was ok and telling him to rest. them in the hallway together after sybil died. thomas saying “no anna’s not an enemy. but she’s incorruptible so we have nothing in common” to edna. so i feel since he’s so good with kids and they seem to love him, it would make sense for the bates baby to be the same, and it would alter the bates/anna/thomas dynamic in a possibly interesting and satisfying way

11) I Want Anna Bates To Be Happy And Laugh And Smile And Also Have Her Hair Down. I Am Tired Of Watching Anna Bates Suffer. If Fellowes Hurts Any More Hair On Her Head I Will Burn ITV Studios Down Just Test Me Julian.

This might be a little shocking, but back in Revaire she preferred to strike while the iron was hot. As it were. Even if she had enough money to only give a marginal amount of shits about her reputation (and a bad one can often do more good than harm sometimes), court gossip being as it was, you had to move quickly before any tongues could start wagging too much. It seemed better to have affairs that flared and died quickly, especially since she wasn’t looking to remarry just yet.

At the summit, it’s different of course. Not that the temptation isn’t a little painful, but her goals are to find a partner for life, and take her time in getting to know them.

20. ♥ How did their relationship start?

Hm. I think Sabine was of two minds when she first met Zarad: on the one hand, the dancing and the banter is fun, and she’s willing to just be passingly amused by him, but on the other I’m sure it was in the back of her mind that all of that was just a front for a much more complex mind. And I think it wasn’t until the first date that she was seriously considering the second bit. That he would make such a gouache comment in such a way as to purposely unbalance her was the point when her mind really turned toward him

4. I think if given the option, she’d rather get that deed done, signed, and notarized asap. But it would depend on the person. If the person is the same way, then woohoo. If the person is the type that she’d like to tease a little longer, then she’d enjoy that. If the person is the type that needs a longer burn, then she’s willing to be patient and enjoy their company in other ways. If it never happens, then that’s fine by her too.

20. I hc that the ot3 kind of comes about with Xan (possibly) picking back up with Asra, starting the thing with Julian, and as Jules and Asra are necessarily forced to spend more time together then their relationship is mended too. I think the beginning of that will be a super awkward stage, with Julian and Asra not really knowing what to do with themselves while Xan is perpetually in the background bein like “Now kiss!!!” She’d have to really hold herself back from interfering in their relationship.

I don’t think she’d be above saying stuff like “You know Julian said such and such abt you!!” or “Asra made that just because you like it!!!” :D

good lord. I love this

okay, but lemme preface and say that until we see most/all of the story unfold and I know how/if I can change up things and account for them both, I’m sticking with only one or the other taking on the shop and then being The Apprentice, and then the other sticks to their previous job, but they still exist, still visit their sibling at the shop some days, and still gets concerned when they hear stories of Nadia’s visit to the shop and the consequent summoning of their sibling to the palace, and all that. And sooo…

w/Artemis as Asra’s apprentice, Apollo has of course met Asra and is already painfully aware of his sibling’s crush, and he oft teases them for it. Though for his teasing of Art abt it, he’s also protective and defensive when it comes to Artemis since Asra just kinda moved in and gracefully avoids near every question about himself and Art, you barely know this witch why did you let him in our mom’s shop and how sure are you the whole fortune telling thing isn’t a hoax, ARTEMIS Apollo’s also lived on the edge of unpleasant company before though, liars and thieves among bards and artists, so he’s just generally suspicious (even when Apollo is the apprentice and gets along better w/Asra, he still is wary of him)

However, it’s even more fun w/Apollo as Asra’s apprentice, since uh, Apollo wants to smooch the fucking fugitive, accused murderer doctor. That said, Art knows of Julian, of course –slightly less than some people in the heart of the city since they live more on the outskirts, still they know the name– but wouldn’t know that Apollo has already found him. At least, not right away, depending on whether or not Apollo gets into trouble or almost does while seeing Julian and so on. Art’s general opinion would be like anyone else’s, that Julian’s a fugitive to be brought in, but it could change if they knew Apollo had it so Bad was convinced of his innocence. I have this whole kinda fic idea of Apollo and Julian having to hide out, and in a desperate move, they hide in Art’s apartment (Apollo has a key, thanks the stars when Art didn’t change the locks for fear of burglars) at the expense Apollo knows Art’s gonna know they’re there even if they hide in a closet or corner, and it becomes a whole thing. Art definitely judges Apollo hard for it, even though they don’t dare turn in their sibling or the doctor. (”I don’t think he’s guilty, Art.” “And I think he’s your Type, ‘Pollo.” some stuttered rebuttal from the younger is cut off by Artemis continuing, “You’ll get yourself killed protecting him or dealing in damn court politics!”)

I could probably write the subtle differences in how they feel depending on who is where too (i.e. how Art feels abt Julian when they’re the apprentice, Apprentice!Apollo feels abt Asra, having both twins as apprentices brought to the palace and the bit of dynamic changes there) but I’ll leave it at this long ass thing for now.
