back in 2020 during an international break after thomas müller had been dropped from the national team, he did a livestream of him making soup with a chef. at one point he mentioned that he had texted with christoph kramer the day before and that chris had said he’d be watching along, so thomas gave “his former world cup colleague” chrikra a shoutout and said that he hoped it was going well.

Incredible ! Well better late than never. it's true that it was really a bad move, that was so unfair. At that time Thomas was 29 years old and Mats 30, which is widely considered as the prime years for football players because their body is still fully functioning but they also have more experience. As the following years has proved it, the problem in the NT isn't in the players, or isn't mainly in the players to be more exact. But at least it's a good thing that Jogi apologized.

Auch wenn Jogi Löw damals am Kap die gute Hoffnung noch nicht erfüllen konnte, wissen wir doch seit der WM 2010, dass die Südwestspitze Afrikas ihre Reize hat. Kapstadt ist wahlweise Taverne der Meere oder Mutter der Nation. Beide Aspekte wollen erkundet sein. Ob in der Walfischbucht mehr Wale oder mehr Fische zu sehen sind, wollte ich auch schon längst wissen. Die Gewässer unterwegs von Südafrika nach Namibia gelten überdies als Hotspot für Monsterwellen. Gründe genug für die nächste Kreuzfahrt. Meine bescheidene Hütte auf der MSC Splendida hat die Nummer 16001, liegt also im Yacht Club bugwärts über der Brücke. Man gönnt sich ja sonst nix.

WHY THE HELL JOGI LÖW IS THERE AS WELL HELPPPPPPPP 😭😭😭

Schon seit dem denkwürdigen EM-Finale geht mir eine Frage nicht mehr aus dem Kopf: Was hat Jogi Löw eigentlich am Finalspielabend gemacht? Saß er wie ich selbst zu Hause vor der Flimmerkiste  (die dank HDTV heutzutage gar nicht mehr flimmert. Aber nur "Kiste" zu schreiben, erscheint mir missverständlich)? Gut gekleidet im stark tailliertem Hemd? Aber nägelkauend wie im Halbfinale auf der Trainerbank? Grämte er sich ob des verpassten Finaleinzugs? Nach der verdienten Niederlage gegen Vize-Europameister Italien wollte er ja "nur noch weg vom Ort des Schreckens."  Vielleicht kamen ihm angesichts des Klasse-Spiels der Spanier im Finale doch leise Zweifel, an seinem eigenen Statement: "Es gibt keinen Grund, etwas anzuzweifeln." Vielleicht war Löw auch froh darüber, nicht gegen die Spanier antreten zu müssen. Eine hohe Niederlage hätte unweigerlich zum Rücktritt geführt. Nicht das ich mir das gewünscht hätte. Klar, die Niederlage gegen Italien war schmerzlich, weil vermeidbar. Aber bitte: Erinnert euch an die unsägliche EM 2000 unter Sir Ribbeck. Abgesehen vom Rumpelfußball, der zu dieser Zeit gespielt wurden, bleiben mir auch solche Sätze auf ewig ein Rätsel: „Grundsätzlich werde ich versuchen zu erkennen, ob die subjektiv geäußerten Meinungen subjektiv oder objektiv sind. Wenn sie subjektiv sind, werde ich an meinen objektiven festhalten. Und denkt auch daran, was sich seither alles getan hat in Fußballdeutschland: Die Nachwuchsarbeit wurde durch Jugendkoordinator Matthias Sammer neu konzipiert und bildet die Grundlage für erfolgreichen Spitzenfußball. Die Nationalelf spielt seit dem Sommermärchen 2006 zumeist einen traumhaft schönen Fußball. Auch gut: Das Bild des deutschen Fußballs im Ausland hat sich gewandelt. Aus den Rumpelfußballern wurden feine Techniker. Es wird schon mal klappen mit dem Titel. Und vergesst nicht: Auch Spanien, Italien, selbst die Dänen und die Niederlande können gut kicken. Ein Titel ist kein Selbstläufer! Aber zurück zur Rücktrittsfrage. Zu Beginn der EM radelte ich quer durch Oberfranken. Dort konnte ich mich in Dietfurth mit eigenen Augen davon überzeugen, dass Jogi offenbar schon einen Plan B in der Tasche hatte. Blumen-Jogi statt Bundes-Jogi. Das Beweisfoto folgt demnächst. Ob er schon einen Ausbildungsplatz hat? Oder bereitet er sich bereits bei der Handwerkskammer auf die Meisterprüfung vor? Im Fußball steht die Meisterprüfung ja auch noch aus. Noch lebt Jogi in Freiburg. Dagmar, mit der ich vor einiger Zeit fürs Abi gebüffelt habe, trifft ihn dort ab und an im Café beim Espresso trinken. Aber auch dort hat Löw noch nichts Konkretes über seine Zukunftspläne verraten. Wir lassen uns überraschen. Meine Pläne für die nahe Zukunft sind dagegen klar. Die fußballfreie Zeit nutze ich für eine Reise nach Potsdam: Ab heute Hausbootfahren quer durch Berlin und dann ins Havelland. Ein gut gehütetes Geheimnis gilt es die nächsten Wochen noch zu lüften. Und ein paar Fußballfilme, die mir eine Cineastin und VfB- Stuttgart-Anhängerin gestern empfohlen hat, warten noch darauf, angeschaut zu werden.

Als ehemaliger deutscher Nationalspieler, ist es kaum verwunderlich, dass die Community Nicolai Müller in den Kader des Jahrzehnts der Spielvereinigung Greuther Fürth gewählt hat.
