The posture of Worship

Before I really started to truly walk with God... I was a deep, dark poet. (I think I still am so pray for me) so when I describe pain it gets deep lol. But, The posture of worship. I want to talk about my take on the posture of worship because the cloud could be dark over our heads, our minds racing and feeling bare. Bare feeling like there is no one around you even in a crowd. We all have been there with that “out of it” feeling and for some reason, we feel like Worship has to look a certain way. We feel like we have to have the new home decor that looks like something Kim K would buy, our skin clear, making good money, a good new relationship, fridge full... You know the life. It's crazy how we tend to treat Worship like we’re getting an invite to an elite party. If I don’t look the part… I can’t raise my hands. If I only have one dollar to my name and can’t even afford to wash my clothes… I can’t raise my hands. What we tend to do a lot as Millennials and GenZ especially… we visually see these worship sessions on TikTok and online and we see the swag, the crisp new clean outfits, we see the atmosphere that looks so serene, so we have this mental note in our heads that in order to Worship... Everything on the outside has to look pretty. (And God bless those sessions because the sessions bless me) Honestly, I used to roll my eyes in the back of my head when I would hear…. “Forget all your problems and just worship.” like chile, you must have never had real problems. But I get it. Truly the whole “forget your problems and worship” never hit for me. And probably never will because I’m hungry, my heart is broken, and I just got over the flu. (Not me, just saying we all have real problems) So, forget what problems? But I get it. Worship is not an invite to a party at a celeb’s house. You don’t have to have “it” or look “it.” you can raise your hands and reach out to the God who made you. The God who does not care if your wig is old and you can barely afford a TV dinner. Just Worship. It doesn’t have to look a certain way. I think having “it” is nice… but don’t let that trick you into feeling like you have to look blessed first, and Worship second. I hope that made sense. Raise those hands and let God in. He doesn’t care how you look. Worship is beautiful and everything on the outside does not have to be beautiful for you to do it.

Looking good is important to me personally and it affects the way I feel if I don’t like how I look. ⭐️I serve in the Human Capital Management Department of my church, The Transforming Church @transformersng and we were required to wear our uniformed t-shirts throughout both services today. 💎If you know me, you know glam is my way and I don’t really too casuals. But because I am a team player and a good leader, I decided to glam up my look in a way that makes me feel like me. Dumped the usual jeans 👖 and wore a denim skirt and topped it up with a hat and I loved it. 🎤So, instead of making excuses, find a way to serve the Lord and others without losing the essence of who you are. 📌I love to search scriptures as the foundation for the way I live my life. Not only on birthdays should parents and children remember the mercies of the Lord in a special way, but Christmas and New Year's should also be seasons when every household should remember their Creator and Redeemer. Instead of bestowing gifts and offerings in such abundance on human objects, reverence, honor, and gratitude should be rendered to God, and gifts and offerings should be caused to flow in the divine channel. Would not the Lord be pleased with such a remembrance of him? O how God has been forgotten on these occasions. At the very time when his loving - kindness should be remembered, his mercy has been ignored. The lesson of the ungrateful lepers should not be in vain to us. “Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?” Shall only one in ten who are receiving the rich benefits of the Lord, return to bow at his feet and to give praise for his mercies? Shall presents be purchased, and money be expended for unnecessary things, and no wisdom be manifested in the outlay of God's intrusted means? @therealsweetspot The most amazing thing that I see God do is how He can take someone that has been bound by drugs, alcohol, prostitution and all other types of sinful deeds and clean them up and make their wasted and dead life become brand new and useful. The purpose that Jesus came to this Earth to do was to bring transformation of lives into new and fruitful lives. Jesus tells us that He has come to give life and that more abundantly. I thank God everyday as I watch what he is doing in my own life and changing me. God cleans us up by taking our sins away from our life and making us a new creature in Christ, but every day He works on us to make us what we need to be for him in this life. I have many flaws in my life, but God daily helps me to change these flaws and to become the person that He desires me to be. Paul tells us that he works toward the perfection of God but as of yet he has not obtained: "I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 3:14, KJV). On the last day of gregorian calendar of the year 2022, I felt like sharing this street portrait that I happened to click in a street of Sundsvall; a city in the mid-north of Sweden. A dark skin woman, wearing clothes representing a non-Christian religious background in my opinion, sitting in a street of a cold Scandinavian country, with a portrait of Jesus/Yashua, begging.
