anyway, for real, would anyone have the guts to be mad if jessie and i just.... wrote one another's characters in more often to be alongside their other half? we come across so many circumstances and situations where they'd be there together, as they do literally everything they possibly can together that honestly it feels more right that way. that's not to say in every single thread there'd be the two of them, just where applicable, where realistic. they work as a team, no side-kick, no 'ball and chain back home', just them, just the team. they are both listed as npcs to be seen and written on each other's blogs, so i mean, it shouldn't come as a surprise really.

like sure its not the biggest thing ever but one of these characters was pouring their heart out to a girl in the rain about how important she is to her and how much she depends on her while a rainbow comes out, has an arc about breaking out of the strict roles her mother forced her into, and literally gets an RGU reference in the anime and a deeply devoted "best friend", and its not jessie. sure none of that is exactly explicit groundbreaking stuff and i personally wouldnt say youre meant to see lillie as bi, but its more than what jessie's got

After a protracted week-long cold war with the cleaners, I've declared a truce.

I've conceded that I could probably create cleaning jobs for 1 room in each suite (instead of 7) if they're willing to complete all the inspections I've already created for all the rooms in each suite.

I am not giving back their bulk complete button. That was a fair and necessary sanction. The current peace agreement is contingent on them filling out their completion forms when they actually do the work.

I'm trying to think of good things about this year, because god they were few and far between. but it did just hit me how thankful I should be that Jessie is doing okay

He's an old battle scarred cat. We don't know his exact age, but he's definitely ANCIENT. You can tell just looking at him. He was a 100% black cat when we got him. Black whiskers. Then the past couple years they've gone white, and he has more and more random stray whites in his coat everyday. (He's also got his ear scars and missing fang from street fights before we adopted him)

And while we were unaware until 2021, he's also had FIV since before we adopted him. In the summer of 2022, he was diagnosed with cancer. The cancer is kept in remission with medicine, but he still has it.

also in 2021 his vet straight up said to us that he's beyond his expected life span. He's living on borrowed time, and him dying this year wouldn't have come as a surprise, even without all the shit we went through.

Because he was very much affected by it. During the whole month long technically homeless arc, there were multiple times he had to be in a car (along with the other 3 cats) for 5+ hours while we tried to find somewhere to go or waited after asking someone to venmo us enough to get a hotel for a night until my mom got paid. And when he wasn't in a car, he was in hotel rooms, which I know stressed him out because he's a very street smart cat and quickly understood that each hotel was temporary and he'd get moved again in a few days.

So the fact that he's still with us, still healthy, is absolutely insane when I think about it.
