Today I just realized that Carmine and Kieran's grandfather owns an Arbok and a Weezing.
It's not super deep or anything, but it's an amusing coincidence that Carmine and Kieran's grandfather owns the exact same two Pokemon that Jessie and James from the anime owned originally (and who are still their most iconic Pokemon).

For the record, the top row is reserved for the male and female doll representing a Heian era wedding and also called the Emperor and Empress. ;3; The lower tiers are attendants, court musicians, court ladies, etc.!
There is also a slight difference in how they're set up, depending on local custom: 'In the Heian period, the left side was the person with the higher status. So the Emperor must be set in the left side from his perspective due to this rule. In Kyoto, this rule is still followed. But the rule for the Japanese royal family is now according to the Western rule. Therefore the Emperor is on right side from his perspective and the Empress is on the left, which is the Tokyo style. Good to know!'
The whole gesture was incredibly sweet, giving her the Hinamatsuri dolls she never had growing up, by dressing up as them, but it's also cute and shippy for this reason too.
